1st (2) (10/3 -33%)Doctor On Call |
10/3(-33%) | (2) Doctor On Call 10/3, Improved again under a positive ride at a sharp track when fourth, beaten 8 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle at Taunton latest. Form has been franked. Trainer in form, effective over 2m-2m4f, and there could be more to come for top connections. Bumper winner who has made the frame on all three hurdle starts; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/9 +47%)Island Bridge |
4/9(+47%) | (3) Island Bridge 4/9, Improved up in trip when second, beaten 4 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle here latest. Effective over 2m5f-3m, can win soon and a longer trip will help. 3m point winner who has been runner-up over hurdles on last two starts; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 -43%)Assertive Walk |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Assertive Walk 5/1, Very promising debut back from a lay-off when coming clear with a useful yardstick to finish second, beaten 3l, in a novice hurdle at Windsor latest. Effective over 2 3/4m, knew his job on debut and should progress a little, and can find a maiden. His two rivals have better form but he's unexposed and open to improvement; could go well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ISLAND BRIDGE and Doctor On Call are closely matched on official ratings, while Assertive Walk probably ran to a similar level on his hurdling bow so it would come as no surprise were any of the three to win. The first-named did look ready for a return to three miles when keeping on into second over an extended 2m5f here last month, though, and he shades the verdict with that in mind.

3m point winner ISLAND BRIDGE has been runner-up over hurdles on his last two starts and is selected to break his rules duck.

1st (12) (9/4 -88%)Misterdoc |
9/4(-88%) | (12) Misterdoc 9/4, Green under pressure and needing the run on his stable debut when fourth, beaten 4 1/4l, in a 4yo hurdle at Chepstow last time. Effective at 2m and should come on for that stable debut. French form has been franked and he should go well. Good French form; beaten fav at Chepstow but ran okay; gets weight from all. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (16/1 -14%)Dartmouth Castle |
16/1(-14%) | (1) Dartmouth Castle 16/1, Ran to form on hurdle debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Wetherby last time. He had been in good form prior, is off a short break, is effective at 2m and acts on soft and good to firm. More to come over hurdles. Bumper winner; beaten 11l on switch to hurdles and has to leave that form behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (6/5 +31%)Hornica |
6/5(+31%) | (11) Hornica 6/5, The yard won this race last year. She was keen and travelled well, improving down in class but no match for the winner when second, beaten 3 1/4l, in a novice hurdle at Windsor last time. Effective at 2m and may improve for a bit further in time. The one to beat on form. Second to a talented winner at Windsor; a repeat of that form might be good enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (3/1 +50%)Leo Wood |
3/1(+50%) | (6) Leo Wood 3/1, Made a promising debut when third, beaten 2 1/2l, in a 4yo hurdle at Compiegne. He returns from a long layoff, is effective at 2 1/4m and acts on soft. Showed useful form in France and there is more to come. Close third in a French hurdle last April and that form has substance to it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -50%)Joeybottles |
33/1(-50%) | (4) Joeybottles 33/1, Improved a little when fourth, beaten 20l, in a maiden hurdle at Southwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft, he looks the type to do better when handicapping. Promise in a bumper/on second hurdle start but still doesn't have compelling claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (10/1 +29%)Titanium Ring |
10/1(+29%) | (9) Titanium Ring 10/1, Outpaced and made a modest effort when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective at 2m on heavy and good to soft, he should improve a little for that initial experience. Tailed off at Ffos Las last time but positives to take from his first two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (150/1 -88%)Swingforthefence |
150/1(-88%) | (8) Swingforthefence 150/1, Outpaced and improved a little for his debut experience when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Carlisle most recently. He may need more time. Bumper third didn't amount to much and beaten 35l and 21l over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (100/1 -25%)Hey Flint |
100/1(-25%) | (10) Hey Flint 100/1, Improved a little for her debut experience when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Warwick last time. A bit more is needed for her to get off the mark. Ran okay in a bumper here but has finished pretty much tailed off in two hurdle races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (80/1 -220%)Le Gentleman |
80/1(-220%) | (5) Le Gentleman 80/1, Improved when second, beaten 3 1/2l, in a 4yo chase at Moulins last time and is off a long absence. Effective at 2 1/4m and acts on heavy, he showed promise over fences in France. Ex-French 5yo who was last seen finishing second over fences in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (80/1 -186%)Gimarias |
80/1(-186%) | (2) Gimarias 80/1, Improved from his debut when beaten 8l in a bumper at Hereford last time. The trainer is in form and he returns from a long layoff. Effective at 2m and acts on good, he should improve for this longer trip now hurdling but needs to. Ran better in his second bumper but still beat one home and would be a surprise winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (250/1 -25%)River Glance |
250/1(-25%) | (7) River Glance 250/1, Was far too free after a wind operation and jumped poorly when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Southwell last time. This is his second run after a wind op and he is likely to struggle again. No real positives to report from runs in three bumpers and two hurdle races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (250/1 -25%)Hobnail |
250/1(-25%) | (3) Hobnail 250/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Southwell last time and has yet to show anything in his races so far. Has shown nothing in a bumper and two runs over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Misterdoc won an AQPS race when trained in France but couldn't justify favouritism on his British/stable bow and although likely to improve, HORNICA is preferred. Ben Pauling's mare has been thrown in at the deep end over hurdles so far and took a big leap forward to finish second at Windsor last time. This is a lot less taxing than the assignments she's faced and represents a decent opportunity. Leo Wood and Le Gentleman have both shown ability in France and must be monitored in the betting.

Not of many these are likely to count in the finish. HORNICA should be hard to beat with a repeat of her run at Windsor.

1st (9) (10/1 -82%)Holetown |
10/1(-82%) | (9) Holetown 10/1, Had every chance but was below form when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Fontwell last time. Effective at 2m and acts on testing ground. Showed useful form in France and is capable of better than she has shown for her new yard, likely over fences. Two-time French chase winner who could stage major revival on first British chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/1 +64%)Georgi Girl |
4/1(+64%) | (4) Georgi Girl 4/1, Travelled well but again found little when fourth, beaten 10l, in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground, though she has proved a weak finisher. Didn't run badly at Windsor last time but needs something extra to break her chasing duck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (13/2 +46%)Malaita |
13/2(+46%) | (6) Malaita 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Trainer is in form and she enjoys making it. Effective from 2m4f to 3m1f and best on decent ground, having been in form until that latest run. Disappointing at Windsor last month but runner-up on final two outings in 2025. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (9/2 +31%)Regal Renaissance |
9/2(+31%) | (8) Regal Renaissance 9/2, Fell in a handicap chase here last time after a short break when set for a place. Effective at 2 1/2m and suited by decent ground. A consistent performer who likes the track and can run well. Second in this last year and returned to form over C&D in December; on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (3/1 +33%)Party Vibes |
3/1(+33%) | (2) Party Vibes 3/1, Scored by 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Cheltenham on her penultimate start. Up in trip and did not stay on testing ground when pulled up in the Heroes Handicap Hurdle latest. Enjoys making it, effective at 2-2 1/2m, inconsistent but better over fences. Won big-field handicap at Cheltenham on last chase start; pulled up in 2m7f hurdle latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (11/1 +31%)Politacus |
11/1(+31%) | (7) Politacus 11/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter last time after a short break. Effective from 2m to 2m6f on soft and good ground, but has plenty to prove at present. Soundly beaten/pulled up on her two outings towards end of last year, after long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (5/1 -11%)Theonewedreamof |
5/1(-11%) | (5) Theonewedreamof 5/1, Yard won this race last year. Below form up in trip and back on softer ground when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Hereford last time. Had been in good form prior, effective from 2m3f to 3m, and in fine form for her new yard until latest. Had an excuse for latest effort and she'd been doing well for her new yard previously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (16/1 -14%)Minniemum |
16/1(-14%) | (1) Minniemum 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Hereford last time after a short break. Wants 3m on good ground and had been progressing over fences prior to that, now on a fair mark based on her Listed form. Doing well over fences until soft-ground blip latest; could bounce back if conditions suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A few of these have something to prove, but not MOLTO BENE. Charlie Longsdon's mare won her first two starts over fences before filling the runner-up spot in a couple of Listed events in which she had plenty to find on official ratings. Back in a handicap, she can resume her progress. Party Vibes should be happier back over the larger obstacles, while Regal Renaissance wasn't out of it when falling over C&D in December.

The return to fences could be a big positive for two-time French chase winner HOLETOWN, who is taken to get off the mark in Britain.

11/4(+17%) | (1) Bucksy Des Epeires 11/4, Yard has won 2 of the last 8 runnings of this race; unseated in a handicap chase at Taunton on his latest start. Cheekpieces are fitted for the first time; effective at 2 1/2m on soft and good to soft; back below his last winning mark, with form in and out of late. On a handy mark on 2024 exploits and perhaps the new cheekpieces will give him a boost. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 +27%)Jacks Parrot |
2/1(+27%) | (2) Jacks Parrot 2/1, Ran to form when beaten 10l into third in a handicap chase at Haydock on his most recent run. Returns from a short break; effective at 3m. Generally consistent and could give a good account. Returned to form when third in the Tommy Whittle last time and he's entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 -13%)Petty Cash |
9/2(-13%) | (5) Petty Cash 9/2, Yard has won 2 of the last 8 runnings of this race; failed to build on his reappearance when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Huntingdon last time. Had been in good form prior; returns from a short break; effective from 2m to 3m on soft and good; this mark demands more. Has had wind op since last time and he won after such surgery in 2024; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 -79%)Landen Calling |
25/1(-79%) | (3) Landen Calling 25/1, Needed the run when fourth, beaten 78l, in a handicap chase at Leicester on his latest outing. Effective from 3m to 4m; needs to prove his ability remains after a lay-off. Given a chance by the handicapper but tailed off last month following long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (5/1 +50%)Dyno Dave |
5/1(+50%) | (7) Dyno Dave 5/1, Improved from his debut when fourth, beaten 13l, in a handicap chase at Ffos Las on his latest run. Trainer is in form; effective at 2m4f on soft and open to improvement as a chaser. He needs a bigger run today but this 8yo has raced only five times and is in top hands. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (6/1 -140%)The Newest One |
6/1(-140%) | (4) The Newest One 6/1, Returned to form down in class when beaten 1 1/4l off this mark at Warwick last time. Visor fitted for the first time; effective around 3m on a sound surface and looks fairly treated if building on that recent revival. Inconsistent but runner-up at Warwick last time; major player if backing that up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (50/1 -52%)Vee Dancer |
50/1(-52%) | (6) Vee Dancer 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster on his latest start. Blinkers are applied for the first time; effective at 3m on good ground; needs to prove his ability remains following a long lay-off. Market check advised on chase debut but pulled up over hurdles on last two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JACKS PARROT finished third behind last weekend's Grand National Trial winner Grand Geste in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock just before Christmas and it won't be a surprise if the seven-year-old is able to get his head back in front. Dyno Dave is entitled to improve from what was essentially his first run of the season at Ffos Las, having unseated at the first fence on his return at Taunton. The Newest One may benefit from a first-time visor.

Wind surgery has done the trick for PETTY CASH in the past and he earns the vote on his first outing since a second wind op.

1st (2) (6/1 +50%)Sir Hobnob |
6/1(+50%) | (2) Sir Hobnob 6/1, Had every chance but was below form on handicap debut when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Newbury last time. Effective over 2m-2m4f and acts on good to soft and good ground; still early days, but this mark requires improvement. Only sixth on Newbury h'cap debut but it may well have been a warm race; retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (10/11 +52%)Diamonds Galore |
10/11(+52%) | (5) Diamonds Galore 10/11, Travelled well and was out-battled late when second, beaten 4 1/2l, in a novice hurdle here last time. That form has been franked. Trainer is in form and she is off a short break; effective over 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Can win soon. Runner-up on both hurdle starts; could benefit from drop back in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (66/1 -65%)Regal Cavalier |
66/1(-65%) | (8) Regal Cavalier 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time and is off a short break. Effective over 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground; a French Flat winner who may do better in handicaps when getting better ground. May have needed the run on handicap debut but needs to be entirely different proposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (22/1 -144%)Ice In The Veins |
22/1(-144%) | (1) Ice In The Veins 22/1, Far too free on handicap debut and unsuited by rain-softened ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. Had been in good form prior and is effective over 2m-2m4f on good ground, but this mark demands more. Tailed off on h'cap debut when bidding for hat-trick; could leave that behind if settling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (7/2 -75%)Westlain |
7/2(-75%) | (7) Westlain 7/2, Did it readily and improved back down in trip when landing a handicap by 5 1/2l off a 9lb lower mark at Huntingdon last time. Effective over 2m-2m3f and in fair form; a bit more to come. 4yo who did it easily at Huntingdon last time and a 9lb rise may not stop him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (8/1 -14%)Phineas Bunce |
8/1(-14%) | (4) Phineas Bunce 8/1, Made mistakes and bled when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Chepstow last time. Off a short break and effective over 2m on good to soft and good ground; from a top yard but may be one for handicaps over further. Encouraging 3rd on hurdle debut; two lesser runs since but makes h'cap debut after wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (7/1 +7%)Sense Of Reason |
7/1(+7%) | (6) Sense Of Reason 7/1, Improved for debut experience but was given a bit too much to do when fourth, beaten 7 1/2l, in a maiden hurdle at Lingfield last time. Effective from 10-16f and acts on soft; can do better over hurdles now handicapping. Flat winner who has made the frame on both hurdle starts; his opening mark looks workable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (25/1 -14%)Soleil D'arizona |
25/1(-14%) | (3) Soleil D'arizona 25/1, Keen and appeared to need the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Kempton most recently. Suited by a sharp 2m on a sound surface and should come on for that latest outing. Tailed off at Kempton recently but may have needed the run and is not written off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WESTLAIN appreciated the drop back to 2m when running out a comfortable winner at Huntingdon earlier in the month. Despite the handicapper raising him 9lb, there appears to be more to come and the four-year-old may prove too strong for Diamonds Galore, who has finished second on both outings this season. Handicap debutant Sense Of Reason appeals most of the remainder.

Preference is for the 4yo WESTLAIN (nap) who bolted up at Huntingdon recently and is taken to defy a 9lb rise. Sir Hobnob is feared.

10/11(+44%) | (4) Falco Des Pins 10/11, Improved after a wind operation when third beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap chase at Taunton on his most recent run. This is his second start after that procedure, he is effective over 2m-2m2f and acts on soft, with French form suggesting he is capable of better. Yard back in form. Gave it a fair go from the front last time at Taunton (2m2f, heavy); should build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 -14%)Count Adhemar |
4/1(-14%) | (2) Count Adhemar 4/1, Improved on his chase debut when beaten 7l in a handicap chase at Catterick last time. His trainer is in form, he is effective over 2-2 1/2m and should come on for that initial experience. Last to complete on chase debut, albeit under 7l off the winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/2 -38%)Icare Colombe |
11/2(-38%) | (1) Icare Colombe 11/2, Travelled well and flattened out late having looked a big threat when fourth beaten 12l in a handicap chase at Market Rasen last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time and he is effective over 2-2 1/2m, looking to be improving over fences. Dropped to 2m1f from 2m4f he ran better to be beaten about 12l at Market Rasen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (17/2 -55%)Blackijo Dagrostis |
17/2(-55%) | (7) Blackijo Dagrostis 17/2, Made mistakes and was disappointing on easier ground when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Warwick last time. Effective over 2m-2m4f on a sound surface and needs to bounce back. Behind early and never involved in this new headgear combination at Warwick last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (33/1 +18%)O'grady's Hill |
33/1(+18%) | (6) O'grady's Hill 33/1, Taken on up front and made too much use of before finding the ground too testing when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and can do better judged on her hurdle form. Has finished tailed off in two handicap chases, on good and heavy ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (100/1 -400%)Model Approach |
100/1(-400%) | (3) Model Approach 100/1, Unsuited by soft ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time. Effective over 2m-2m2f on good ground, he has yet to deliver on the promise he showed as a juvenile over hurdles. Tailed off in all his runs for Evan Williams and he's not bred for chasing; reservations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (40/1 -186%)Make Sunshine |
40/1(-186%) | (5) Make Sunshine 40/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective around 2m4f and acts on good ground, she is inconsistent but is on a fair mark based on her maiden form. 17-race maiden with a Flat background and hard to know what she'll make of fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 0%)Jackson's Bay |
11/1(0%) | (8) Jackson's Bay 11/1, Had every chance but was below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Catterick last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft, though he has been inconsistent in his short career. 0-8 over hurdles and twice disappointing since a third of six at Newton Abbot in September. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With a couple of winners on Saturday, Venetia Williams' yard has turned a corner and FALCO DES PINS can enhance his stable's strike-rate. After resuming from wind surgery with a respectable third at Taunton, this unexposed chaser can make the most of a 2lb cut in the ratings. Icare Colombe has similar scope in this sphere and rates a big danger, with first-time cheekpieces a potential source of improvement. Count Adhemar and Model Approach are the pick of the remainder.

A weak handicap. After a wind operation, FALCO DES PINS ran well enough from the front at Taunton to believe he could be the one.

9/2(-80%) | (4) Manigod 9/2, Ran to form when second, beaten a length in a novice hurdle at Fontwell latest. Effective at 2m4f and acts on S and G; consistent type who should find a race of this nature off potentially lenient mark. 0-8 on Flat in France; 2nd all three hurdle starts; has potential on handicap hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/4 +50%)Fresh Kicks |
5/4(+50%) | (1) Fresh Kicks 5/4, Back to form down in trip when fourth, beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap hurdle at Windsor latest; trainer in form. Effective over 2m4f-2m5f and acts on S and G, but from this mark more is required. Best form on latest start (2m4f handicap on soft); needs extra but heading the right way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/2 +8%)Name Me Nicely |
11/2(+8%) | (2) Name Me Nicely 11/2, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 14l in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster latest; usually held up. Effective at around 2 1/2m and acts on GS; showed promise in maidens and his opening mark could be lenient. Has improved; needs further progress on this handicap debut, but these are early days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (12/1 +25%)Broderick |
12/1(+25%) | (8) Broderick 12/1, Needed the run and ran well to a point when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Haydock most recent. Effective over 2m-2m5f and acts on S and G; should come on for that latest outing. Stamina not proven and ground worse than good to soft looks a problem. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MANIGOD is still learning his trade over hurdles and could be well placed to get off the mark. His three second-placed finishes over timber so far read well in the context of this race and he steps into a handicap on a highly workable mark. Fresh Kicks is feared most, with this representing a drop in class for the Nicky Henderson-trained gelding. D'jo Dela Barriere reverts to hurdles and needs taking seriously.

This could be the day that MANIGOD gets off the mark. Fresh Kicks is preferred to The Expensive One and Name Me Nicely.
Ths is the racecard key.
