2/1(+0%) | (1) Jimbo Sport 2/1, Ran to form in getting off the mark when winning a maiden hurdle at Newcastle by 6l last time; effective around 2m, acts on good to soft and good; good chance under penalty. Newcastle winner over 2m1f who looks sure to put up another bold show under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Irish point run was promising; bumper efforts less so but has had a wind op; hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/4 -38%)Scarlet Moon |
11/4(-38%) | (7) Scarlet Moon 11/4, Ran to form up in trip when second beaten 4 1/2l in a 4yo hurdle at Stratford latest; enjoys making it; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on soft and good; in form over hurdles. Consistent over hurdles and he won't mind getting back on less testing ground; can lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (11/2 -10%)King's Scholar |
11/2(-10%) | (6) King's Scholar 11/2, Below form on deep ground when fourth beaten 41l in a handicap at Ffos Las latest; effective around 12/13f on Flat; sort to do well hurdling. Three-time Flat winner who will stay the trip now hurdling and he's of useful ability. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (80/1 -186%)Golden Garden |
80/1(-186%) | (8) Golden Garden 80/1, Moderate debut over hurdles comfortably held in a juvenile hurdle at Taunton last time; off a short-break; effective at 14f on Flat; improvement needed. 1m6f AW winner; had a wind operation since quiet hurdle debut in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (300/1 -200%)Josh Central |
300/1(-200%) | (4) Josh Central 300/1, Never in it from off the pace on deep ground tried in hood down the field in a maiden hurdle at Leicester most recent; off a short-break; may be more of a handicap type. Five-race maiden with weak form claims and handicaps will be more like it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (11/4 +17%)Snatch A Glance |
11/4(+17%) | (2) Snatch A Glance 11/4, Yard won this last year; improved to get off the mark when winning a maiden hurdle here by a head last time; returning from a break; effective 2m, suited by sound surface; more to come hurdles. Clear form claims even with a penalty and his yard won this last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (300/1 -200%)Kenobi |
300/1(-200%) | (5) Kenobi 300/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Hereford latest; off a short-break; all to prove. Tailed off in a bumper (good to soft) and pulled up in a Hereford novice (soft). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Jimbo Sport and Snatch A Glance possess identical official ratings, although they must concede weight to the juvenile Scarlet Moon, who is rated 2lb superior and has kept good company. A wind operation could see Current Edition in a better light, but a chance is taken on the jumping of KING'S SCHOLAR. Olly Murphy's new recruit was rated as high as 86 when with Ed Walker on the level and he might prove too good if transferring that ability to this discipline.

Back on good ground that he'll enjoy, the 4yo SCARLET MOON could take some reeling in around here if let loose on the lead.

6/4(+63%) | (1) Annie Express 6/4, Went clear, made too much use of when fourth beaten 27l off 102 last time, 2lb lower here; effective 2m5f-3m, acts on soft and good; inconsistent. Course winner in January but has to get back on track after three lesser efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +11%)A Little Something |
4/1(+11%) | (3) A Little Something 4/1, Pulled up when too keen in a handicap chase at Leicester latest; effective at around 2m4f, suited by decent ground; should come on for latest. Competitive on best hurdling form; heavy ground an excuse when pulled up on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/2 -5%)Kit's Coty |
7/2(-5%) | (2) Kit's Coty 7/2, Didn't find much having briefly threatened when 18l third in a handicap chase here most recent run; effective 3m on sound surface; needs more. Back on the mark she defied over 3m here in October and couldn't rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 -433%)Lynsey Larue |
12/1(-433%) | (5) Lynsey Larue 12/1, Rallied gamely and improved up in trip beaten 3 1/2l off this mark at Warwick last time; effective over 3m, acts on soft and good; improving over fences, looks thorough stayer so drop in trip a negative. Second at Warwick last time and looks up to winning races off this low a mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (15/2 +6%)Wishful Wings |
15/2(+6%) | (6) Wishful Wings 15/2, Outpaced, improved up in trip on chase debut when fourth beaten 13l in a handicap chase at Warwick latest; effective 3m, acts on soft; limited so far but unexposed over fences. Beaten 12l at Warwick (3m, soft) on chase/handicap debut, finishing behind Lynsey Larue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (11/1 -22%)Moonlightinthepark |
11/1(-22%) | (4) Moonlightinthepark 11/1, Again below novice form down in trip when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time; effective around 2m; step back up in trip may help on chase debut. Modest hurdler but second in her only point so chasing could be the making of her. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KIT'S COTY has seemed in the handicapper's grip since going in over 3m here back in the autumn, but she is back down to the same mark now and can take full advantage. Her stable companion A Little Something was let down by her jumping at Leicester, but that first run for nine months will sharpen her up. Annie Express drops in class and struck here towards the start of the year, while Lynsey Larue remains a maiden under Rules but showed more when runner-up at Warwick.

A tight race. A LITTLE SOMETHING was capable off this mark over hurdles and her chase debut was on unsuitably heavy ground.

10/11(-14%) | (2) Jackomy 10/11, Did it easily, improved for quicker ground when landing a handicap by 4 1/4l off a 7lb lower mark at Wincanton last time; effective 2m3f, acts on heavy and good; progressive and can go well again. Won easily last week and looks ahead of his mark, even with a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -27%)Oakley's Way |
7/2(-27%) | (1) Oakley's Way 7/2, Returned to form down in class when beaten 3/4l off a 3lb lower mark at Plumpton last time; effective 2m-2m4f on sound surface; in form and can go well again. Beaten by market rival with the pair clear at Plumpton (2m4f); up 3lb; strong candidate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/2 -13%)Little Pi |
9/2(-13%) | (5) Little Pi 9/2, Travelled best but outstayed late in strongly run race when third a Ludlow latest; effective 2m-2m5f, acts on soft and good; recent efforts boosted, can remain competitive. Beaten off this mark here one month ago but that was another solid run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (100/1 -203%)Kates Choice |
100/1(-203%) | (4) Kates Choice 100/1, Outpaced, below form comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; returning from a break; effective 2m-2m4f; needs more. Ex-Irish maiden who was well beaten on both starts for new stable in the autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (14/1 0%)D'jo Dela Barriere |
14/1(0%) | (3) D'jo Dela Barriere 14/1, Outpaced, never threatened, below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by sound surface; drop in trip might help. Form has dipped since hurdle/chase wins in October and needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (100/1 -257%)Triple Haych |
100/1(-257%) | (6) Triple Haych 100/1, Again ran to a poor level when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Hereford most recent; effective at 3m in points; more needed now handicapping. Achieved precious little over hurdles and has a lot to prove on this handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JACKOMY has gradually got his act together and, well backed to build on a Taunton third, he gave favourite-backers few concerns when justifying the support at Wincanton. This comes just seven days on, but he now looks on a firm upward curve. Little Pi has been holding his form well but is much more experienced and, as such, lacks the scope for improvement of the selection. Oakley's Way's Plumpton second suggested his turn is near again.

The outcome was never really in much doubt when JACKOMY justified strong market support at Wincanton last week and he can follow up.

1st (1) (9/4 -29%)Your Darling |
9/4(-29%) | (1) Your Darling 9/4, Travelled best but outstayed, ran to form at favoured venue when 5 1/4l third in Swinley Handicap Chase at Ascot most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good; goes well at Ascot and best when fresh, in decent form. Exellent runs over 3m the last twice and he's a srong contender off his competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/4 +63%)Beachcomber |
11/4(+63%) | (6) Beachcomber 11/4, Taken on up front and made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; effective 3m on decent ground; out of form this term. He doesn't have a convincing profile but his pure ability is respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (50/1 -317%)Lounge Lizard |
50/1(-317%) | (5) Lounge Lizard 50/1, Needed run comfortably in new headgear combo when held in a handicap chase at Huntingdon last time; second run after wind op; enjoys making it; effective 2m4f, acts on soft and good; unreliable, goes well at Huntingdon. He made a quiet start for this yard at Huntingdon after wind surgery; risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (5/1 -43%)The Kalooki Kid |
5/1(-43%) | (2) The Kalooki Kid 5/1, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Musselburgh last time; off a short-break; effective 2m4f on good to soft and good; needs to bounce back from some lesser efforts. Down in class but unraced beyond 2m5f so there are major stamina concerns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/1 -11%)Annsam |
5/1(-11%) | (4) Annsam 5/1, Hampered and unseated early in a handicap chase at Kempton latest; effective 3m, acts on soft and good; can go well with a clear round. Two non-completions to bounce back from but he's a former winner of this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (9/2 -13%)Destroytheevidence |
9/2(-13%) | (3) Destroytheevidence 9/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Doncaster latest; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by decent ground; inconsistent but mark workable, tricky ride. Ran well here in December and the return of cheekpieces is a definite positive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A few of these have something to prove but not YOUR DARLING, who went close at Kempton before finishing a creditable third in a premier handicap chase at Ascot. Ben Pauling's veteran is eased into calmer waters and looks the one to be with because even though Annsam might be threatening, he has failed to complete the last twice. The Kalooki Kid can chase the pair home.

An interesting race. YOUR DARLING (nap) has a big shout as his mark hasn't really gone anywhere despite recent notable efforts.

1st (1) (7/4 +13%)Jack Hyde |
7/4(+13%) | (1) Jack Hyde 7/4, Keen, made too much use of down the field in a handicap hurdle at Sandown most recent; in good form prior; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on any; bounce back needed. Not handicapped out of it and this is easier than latest run in the Imperial Cup. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/10 +37%)High Fibre |
11/10(+37%) | (6) High Fibre 11/10, Did it comfortably, returned to form back down in trip landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off this mark at Kempton last time; effective 2m-2m4f on a sound surface; generally consistent and can go well again. No penalty for last week's comfortable Kempton win when back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (12/1 -140%)Crest Of Stars |
12/1(-140%) | (5) Crest Of Stars 12/1, Below form after a bad error when fourth beaten 66l in a novice hurdle at Taunton latest; off a short-break; effective 2m, acts on good; more to come over hurdles if brushing up on jumping. Doesn't look hurled in for this first handicap but wouldn't be exposed yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (20/1 -100%)D Day Arvalenreeva |
20/1(-100%) | (3) D Day Arvalenreeva 20/1, Found little, below form when fourth beaten 14l in a handicap at Chelmsford latest; effective a 2m on a sound surface; bit to find back hurdling. C&D winner on a realistic mark but she is becoming tough to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (8/1 +43%)Filibustering |
8/1(+43%) | (2) Filibustering 8/1, Not find much well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Kempton latest; trainer in form; off a short-break; effective 2m; needs more to defy this mark. Juvenile hurdle winner but bitterly disappointing in his first handicap two months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 -133%)Roysse |
14/1(-133%) | (4) Roysse 14/1, Mistakes, set it up for closers when 28l third in a handicap chase at Sedgefield most recent run; effective 2m, suited by cut; hasn't fulfilled potential and now back hurdling. Free-goer who is 0-4 over fences; back over hurdles on a track that could suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Things haven't worked out for Roysse over fences, but he ought to be happier back hurdling and might prove the main threat to HIGH FIBRE. Harry Fry's charge escapes a penalty having won a conditionals' event under Ciaran O'Shea at Kempton and with his partner now claiming the full 7lb allocation, he could be hard to beat. Crest Of Stars is also noted.

If in the same form as at Wincanton last week, HIGH FIBRE could have the measure of these with no penalty to anchor him.

(1) (1/1 +33%)Jet Plane |
1/1(+33%) | (1) Jet Plane 1/1, Not find much after series of errors when 26l third in a hunter chase at Leicester most recent run; effective 2m4f-3m on a sound surface; in good form until latest and drier ground plus here. Running well in handicaps before his recent setbacks in hunter chases; class respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (13/8 +35%)Great Valley |
13/8(+35%) | (4) Great Valley 13/8, Improved again when winning a mixed open point at Eyton-On-Severn by 15l last time; effective at 2m4f-3m in points; good chance on hunter chase debut. Modest hurdler but he's not without hope given his subsequent point-to-point form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (15/2 -114%)Northern Bound |
15/2(-114%) | (2) Northern Bound 15/2, Yard won this last year; travelled, ran to form when winning a handicap chase at Warwick by 5 1/2l last time; effective 2m4f on sound surface; good chance on debut in hunter chases. Handicap winner in October, taking his strike-rate over fences to 9-30; hunter chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (14/1 -133%)Missed Tee |
14/1(-133%) | (5) Missed Tee 14/1, Improved on recent efforts when second beaten 13l in a hunter chase here latest; effective 2m-3m; in form and can go well again. She needs to improve on her recent seconds in hunter chases at Stratford and here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (25/1 -108%)Fix At All |
25/1(-108%) | (3) Fix At All 25/1, Returned to form down in class when second beaten 8 1/2l in a hunter chase at Kempton latest; effective 2m4f, acts on good to soft and good; needs to build on latest. His third at Catterick was in a weaker race; beaten in a match last week; unconvincing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Jet Plane can be forgiven his Warwick fall but he was found an ideal opening at Leicester next time, a chance that he failed to take. There have to be some reservations on the back of that effort and, despite having a bit to find on official ratings, NORTHERN BOUND could be the answer. The 12-year-old won a Warwick match when last seen in October and having been successful following a break previously, looks to hold solid claims. Fix At All is next best.

A resurgent Jet Plane would take some beating but NORTHERN BOUND is perhaps a safer bet to give his true running.
Ths is the racecard key.
