14:20 Musselburgh (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALSAKIB has yet to show his undoubted Flat class in this sphere, although there was encouragement to take from his second at Wetherby and, to a lesser extent, his Catterick fourth. Dropping back in trip after wind surgery might play to his strengths and he is given another chance. Lyric wasn't quite as smart on the level but still kept good company and is an interesting recruit to hurdles. Quercus Robur is capable of making an impact, and Luna Grace isn't out of it either.

Lyric is an intriguing contender but preference is for Kelso runner-up QUERCUS ROBUR ahead of Alsakib.

14:50 Musselburgh (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A short break helped BIG STORM BREWING put a costly Ayr defeat behind him and he rewarded those who kept the faith at Newcastle. He saw out his race really well so the rise from two and a half miles should see him in an even better light. Leader Wing made the frame on that occasion, but a 6lb swing in the weights might not be quite enough for him to make up a deficit of more than eight lengths. Parish Quiz, who was third on the same Newcastle card, could be the primary threat.

There is a stamina question for BIG STORM BREWING, who has never ventured beyond an extended 2m4f, but he makes most appeal.

15:22 Musselburgh (Class 2) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

LIGHT FANDANGO has struggled when upped in trip, but his record at distances of around 2m is excellent and he arrives on a high after a Doncaster triumph. Bradley Harris keeps the partnership intact and Neil Mulholland's seven-year-old gets a tentative vote in a wide-open affair. High on the list of dangers is Vampire Slayer, who may have failed in his hat-trick bid but that Carlisle third suggested he is still on an upward curve. Haarar and Star Of Guiting couldn't round out three-timers on their latest starts either but can't be written off.

This could go to TRAVIS WHEATLEY now back at Musselburgh and back on better ground. He's well treated on last February's course form.

15:55 Musselburgh (Class 2) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

The combination of a step up in distance and first-time hood saw SANILAM regain the winning thread at Newcastle earlier this month and there could be more to come. An official rating of 122 looks workable for the six-year-old and his class may shine through. Fellow handicap debutant Linalene arrives on the back of his best effort to date when finishing a close-up second at Ayr and is a potential improver over this longer trip, while Abbey Scope and The G Wizard are others of interest at this level.

Having made the odds-on winner pull out all the stops at Ayr last month, LINALENE (nap) could be on a good mark for this handicap debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Romeo Brown continued his resurgence when completing a double at Doncaster in December and another bold bid would come as no surprise. A 4lb higher mark for the veteran looks fair and he isn't taken lightly, but DEARKEITHANDKATY is open to more improvement. The Jonjo & A J O'Neill-trained gelding was a cosy winner over C&D at the start of February and a subsequent second over 2m4f at Sedgefield looked to be on the sharp side. Snowrocco is another who should relish a return to this trip and she shouldn't be underestimated.

Grand Geste and Paddy O'Mahler have benefited from cheekpieces this season and their stablemate SCAIRP DUBH now gets such headgear.

17:00 Musselburgh (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having supplemented a victory at Ludlow with a good second at Market Rasen last month, RAILWAY BELL makes grand appeal remaining at the same level. This contest looks less competitive and the seven-year-old could make light work of a 2lb rise. Handicap debutant Tuppence returned with a respectable runner-up effort over C&D 33 days ago and may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Feach Amach.

Topweight RAILWAY BELLE has a progressive profile and can make it two wins from her last three starts. Berwick Law could improve.
