(4) (1/2 +13%)Quebecois |
1/2(+13%) | (4) Quebecois 1/2, Travelled well and was out-battled up the hill when well placed in a race dominated from the front, finishing second beaten a nose in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time. The trainer is in form; effective over 2 1/2-3m and acts on soft and good ground; in form over fences. May ideally want further but could be tough to peg back down in trip. Big run last time; surprising to see him back at 2m but the ground will be testing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/3 +5%)Personal Ambition |
10/3(+5%) | (3) Personal Ambition 10/3, Made mistakes and was unlucky in this race last year, and was well held by less exposed rivals when comfortably held in the Noel Novices' Chase (Grade 2) at Ascot last time. Blinkers are fitted first time; effective over 2-2 1/4m and acts on good to soft; needs this drop in class but must bounce back. Flashes of good form over fences; poor last time but now goes in new blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 +0%)Old Cowboy |
4/1(+0%) | (1) Old Cowboy 4/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Kempton last time when looked the likely winner; C&D winner previously; effective over 2m and best at 2 1/2m. On a good mark and with more to come over fences, he is likely to get further. Up 4lb for his Kempton fall but he was threatening when coming down. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (22/1 +0%)Leading Choice |
22/1(+0%) | (2) Leading Choice 22/1, Found nil when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Haydock most recently and returns from a long layoff. Effective at around 2 1/2m, acts on heavy and good ground; his hurdle form had tailed off when last seen. Bumper and 2m4f maiden hurdle winner; has a long absence to overcome on his chasing debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

QUEBECOIS was out of his depth in a Grade 2 at Sandown, but that performance is sandwiched between a couple of promising seconds. The latest saw him denied by the narrowest of margins on Trials Day at Cheltenham and he can boost his confidence before a potential return there next month. Personal Ambition has lost his way, but the application of blinkers could help him recapture the form that saw him claim Grade 2 glory as a novice hurdler. Old Cowboy struck over C&D before a Kempton fall, but concedes weight to higher-rated opponents.

It could pay to risk PERSONAL AMBITION in the new blinkers as he has flashes of smart form over fences.

Effective at 2m and acts on soft; more to come judged on his French Flat form, likely to get a bit further and should be winning soon. Heavy-ground Flat winner in France and it's been a bright start over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (3/1 +25%)Giantsgrave |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Giantsgrave 3/1, Travelled well and ran to form but found little when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las last time. In good form prior, effective over 2-2 1/2m and on soft and good to soft; consistent bumper winner and this drop in trip should suit. Beaten favourite in his two maiden hurdles but won a bumper and can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/2 +0%)Lancelot Allen |
7/2(+0%) | (6) Lancelot Allen 7/2, Needed the run when down the field in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper (Grade 1) at Cheltenham most recently. Returning from a long layoff, effective at 2m and acts on soft; bumper winner who should have more to offer over hurdles but may just need this. Bangor winner before finishing down the field at 200-1 in the Champion Bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (13/2 -18%)Galashiels |
13/2(-18%) | (3) Galashiels 13/2, Improved from his debut when a 12l third in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton most recently. Effective over 12-16f and suited by cut; showed useful form in France where a Listed winner on the Flat and should be winning soon over hurdles. Smart Flat form in 2024; beaten about 11l into third last time at Wincanton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 -11%)Fouroneohfever |
10/1(-11%) | (2) Fouroneohfever 10/1, Had too much to do under a poor ride when second, beaten 13l, in a maiden hurdle at Southwell latest. Effective over 12f-16f, best on sharp tracks, and a useful middle-distance handicapper on the Flat who should have more to offer over hurdles. No match for an easy winner at Southwell; highly likely that he'll need more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (12/1 +14%)Mulinas |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Mulinas 12/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Doncaster latest. Trainer in form; effective at 2m and suited by cut. Point winner who showed promise in bumpers but needs to prove his ability remains after a layoff. Point/bumper form respected; quiet debut over hurdles and the hood is removed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (33/1 +0%)Lully Du Houx |
33/1(+0%) | (8) Lully Du Houx 33/1, Improved from his debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon last time. Effective at 2m on soft and good, and further improvement is likely. Had two runs over hurdles, beaten 14l at Hereford (good) and 21l at Huntingdon (soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (50/1 +24%)Seeking Charles |
50/1(+24%) | (11) Seeking Charles 50/1, Below form and up in class when down the field in a handicap at Southwell most recently. Off a short break and has a lot to find on that showing. Placed on the Flat without winning; should have the stamina for hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (66/1 +18%)My Boy Aaron |
66/1(+18%) | (10) My Boy Aaron 66/1, Never threatened when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last time. Off a short break; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good. Consistent in bumpers but has a bit to prove over hurdles. Quite promising in bumpers; tailed off in two maiden hurdles but has had a wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (150/1 +0%)Back On Track |
150/1(+0%) | (1) Back On Track 150/1, Outpaced and outclassed when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Plumpton latest. Showed promise in points but has plenty to prove under rules on the back of that effort. Placed in points but has shown precious little in two runs over hurdles; this is no easier. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

TALAKAN has taken well to jumping and built on his Ascot third when touched off at Ludlow. The Toby Lawes-trained juvenile receives weight all round and can continue his forward momentum. Lancelot Allen has been off since beating just one home in the Champion Bumper, but his Bangor defeat of a now 118-rated hurdler makes him of interest on his return. Galashiels and Fouroneohfever are decent Flat recruits who are getting the hang of hurdling, while Giantsgrave is much better than he showed at Ffos Las.

The 4yo TALAKAN is receiving weight off his elders and the Ludlow runner-up won't be fazed by these testing conditions.

(1) (5/6 +17%)Bobby's Nelson |
5/6(+17%) | (1) Bobby's Nelson 5/6, Improved up in trip when winning a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las by 3 1/2l last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts with cut. Steadily progressive and remains competitive under a penalty. Building a likeable profile and he's still entered in the Turners at Cheltenham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (11/8 +27%)Swindon Village |
11/8(+27%) | (2) Swindon Village 11/8, Was a bit free and tired late on up in trip but ran to form when beaten 13l into third in a novice hurdle at Windsor on his most recent run; effective at 2m4f and acts on soft. Steadily progressive, with further improvement likely in handicaps. Made all over this trip at Leicester; 3m looked too far in a good novice at Windsor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 +50%)Mymilkman |
25/1(+50%) | (5) Mymilkman 25/1, Pulled up in a novice hurdle at Lingfield on his latest start and is off a short break; effective at 3m in points. Has a lot to find. Runner-up in two points but no positives to take from his two runs over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SWINDON VILLAGE accounted for a subsequent winner at Leicester and then acquitted himself well behind two smart prospects at Windsor. Charlie Longsdon's inmate has been given a couple of Cheltenham engagements and while that may be flying too high at present, he is promising. Bobby's Nelson is in the Turners at the Festival and is the logical danger following his deserved breakthrough at Ffos Las. Boultydoolin cost 95,000 pounds after winning an Irish point-to-point and has been given a speculative Albert Bartlett entry.

There's not a lot between BOBBY'S NELSON and Swindon Village and preference for the selection is only marginal. He stays well.

(2) (5/2 +25%)Brave Kingdom |
5/2(+25%) | (2) Brave Kingdom 5/2, Returned to form but did plenty early and set it up for a closer when beaten 1 1/2l off this mark at Taunton last time. Trainer is in form, enjoys making it, and is effective over 2 1/2-3m. On a good mark if building on that effort and a C&D winner. Hard to predict but steadied his ship when second in a small field at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (11/4 +63%)As The Fella Says |
11/4(+63%) | (9) As The Fella Says 11/4, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 14l, in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Effective over 2-3m and arrives in form. Only a 7yo and it's been a fairly solid start over fences, from 2m4f to 3m1f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/4 +21%)Havaila |
11/4(+21%) | (7) Havaila 11/4, Travelled and ran to form but tied up late having looked the winner, needing the run when beaten 2l off a 2lb lower mark at Windsor last time. Effective over 2m3f-3m2f and consistent. Should come on for that latest outing and drop back in trip a plus so looks a leading contender. Has course form and was second over 3m4f at Windsor on return from an absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/3 -11%)Major Fortune |
10/3(-11%) | (5) Major Fortune 10/3, Returned to form in first-time cheekpieces when landing a handicap by 3l off a 5lb lower mark at Wincanton last time. Effective over 2 1/2-3m and acts on any going. Could have a bit more to offer now he has had his head in front over fences. Won comfortably over further (on soft) at Wincanton when in the new cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 +8%)Good Friday Fairy |
6/1(+8%) | (3) Good Friday Fairy 6/1, Scored by a length off a 4lb lower mark at Exeter on his penultimate start. Outpaced but ran to form and wanted a slightly stiffer test when third beaten 5l off 123 last time, same mark here. Enjoys making it and is consistent. All good since the cheekpieces went on, winning three times; now returns to further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/1 +10%)Happy And Fine |
9/1(+10%) | (4) Happy And Fine 9/1, Won by 1 1/4l off a 4lb lower mark at Warwick on his penultimate start. Effective over 2m4f-2m5f and suited by plenty of cut. Remains well treated on old form but is not one to rely on. 3-13 over fences, the last win in December off 4lb lower; unseated midrace last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (9/1 +18%)Sheldon |
9/1(+18%) | (8) Sheldon 9/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 11l, in a handicap chase here last time. Effective over 2m4f-3m and acts on soft and good to soft. Holds a chance in this. Second to an unexposed winner over C&D latest; can give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/1 +55%)Jupiter Des Bordes |
10/1(+55%) | (6) Jupiter Des Bordes 10/1, Won by a head off a 14lb lower mark at Warwick three starts ago. Below form in a better race when tenth beaten 26l off 120 last time, same mark here. Effective over 2m4f-3m and had been steadily progressive until his latest run. Failed to fire at Windsor a month ago but this mark isn't beyond him if back on song. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (18/1 +36%)Saint Palais |
18/1(+36%) | (1) Saint Palais 18/1, Had no obvious excuse when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Off a short break, he is effective around 3m and acts on soft. On a fair mark based on old chase form but remains inconsistent. Belated return to fences and recent hurdling exploits leave him with much to prove. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The application of cheekpieces (retained) worked the oracle for MAJOR FORTUNE at Wincanton and he is fancied to repeat the dose from 5lb higher. Brave Kingdom made a bold bid from the front at Taunton and is more than capable of another big run. Havaila finished third at Windsor to Neo King, who went on to post a fine effort in the Grand National Trial at Haydock. With that in mind, he could be the biggest threat.

It's been a solid start over fences for AS THE FELLA SAYS (nap), his third at Cheltenham two runs back a particularly good effort.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/1 +0%)Glance Of Glory |
5/1(+0%) | (3) Glance Of Glory 5/1, Made mistakes but ran to form, just tiring late when fourth beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last time. Trainer in form and off a short break; effective at 2-2 1/2m, barely gets 3m, and acts on S and G; improving. Hat-trick bid came up short but he can jump better than he did at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/1 +0%)One Eye On Vegas |
7/1(+0%) | (1) One Eye On Vegas 7/1, Scored by a nose off a 2lb lower mark at Leicester on his penultimate start; below form when sixth beaten 21l off 113 last time and 2lb lower here. Effective around 2m4f and acts on Hy and S; in good form until latest, though the handicapper may have caught up. Wincanton was disappointing but remains on a fair mark if he can shrug aside that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (7/1 +0%)Painted Wolf |
7/1(+0%) | (9) Painted Wolf 7/1, Improved under a positive ride but was comfortably held in a novice hurdle here last time. A point winner who may do better over further in handicaps. Ran surprisingly well in a novice here last time and raised in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (8/1 +0%)Luwdvig |
8/1(+0%) | (8) Luwdvig 8/1, Scored by 4 1/2l off an 8lb lower mark at Lingfield on his penultimate start; ran to form when third beaten 7l off 105 last time and is off the same mark here. Effective at 2m-2m5f, acts on S and G; progressive in handicaps. Lingfield winner but found nothing for pressure when then beaten 7l at Plumpton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (10/1 +0%)Tyson |
10/1(+0%) | (12) Tyson 10/1, Outpaced and unsuited by the drop in trip when down the field in a handicap hurdle at Kempton on his most recent start. Effective at around 2 1/2m; struggling for his new yard but fair mark on Irish form and needs this step back up in trip. Down the field in two h'caps for Dan Skelton; market watch needed with Harry taking over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/1 +0%)Balboa |
11/1(+0%) | (6) Balboa 11/1, Outpaced but ran to his current form when fourth beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on S and G; easing in the weights but unreliable and stamina to prove. Following a break he was beaten about 10l in 1m7f/2m3f handicaps on his last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (16/1 +0%)Gustapof |
16/1(+0%) | (11) Gustapof 16/1, Stopped quickly and was comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Exeter last time. Off a short break and stays 2m1f, acts on heavy and soft; fairly consistent at a useful level over hurdles and fences in France but yet to fire for his new yard. Ex-French gelding; nothing as yet for current yard but he's back on softer ground here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (20/1 +0%)Close Combat |
20/1(+0%) | (4) Close Combat 20/1, Ran to form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow last time. Off a short break and effective at 2m1f, acts on Hy; may have more to offer but his mark looks stiff. Hasn't looked on a good mark in his two handicaps and that could still be the case. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (33/1 +0%)Teorie |
33/1(+0%) | (10) Teorie 33/1, Poorly placed off a steady pace behind the all-the-way winner and comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time. Usually held up; effective at 2-2 1/2m and acts on S, GS and G; inconsistent. Has basically become a bit disappointing and he's not shaping like a winner in waiting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/2 -13%)Robber's Bridge |
9/2(-13%) | (7) Robber's Bridge 9/2, Travelled strongly and did it readily, well treated off an unchanged mark when landing a handicap by 11l off a 7lb lower mark at Exeter last time. Effective from 2m3f to 2m6f and acts on any ground; steadily progressive and may have more to offer over this longer trip. Career best at Exeter; respected off 7lb higher with heavy ground no issue for him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (22/1 +12%)Cast's Tasha |
22/1(+12%) | (5) Cast's Tasha 22/1, Below form and comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. Effective from 2m3f to 2m6f and acts on S; her mark looks high enough. Has the form to feature but hard to be confident after her last two efforts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It was much more like it from De Kingpin when third here last month and it's possible that a drop in trip will play to his strengths, but GLANCE OF GLORY gets the vote. Martin Keighley's charge didn't jump well at Aintree but, to his credit, he was still in contention two from home. Both of his wins have come at this sort of trip and although there are some doubts regarding testing ground, he won't be far away if handling it. Robber's Bridge is another to consider.

De Kingpin is feared but GUSTAPOF could easily leave his British form behind now back in the mud that suited him so well in France.

(4) (7/4 0%)Katie's Melody |
7/4(0%) | (4) Katie's Melody 7/4, Travelled well but was still green and made mistakes under pressure when improving on her final qualifying run, finishing 8l third in a novice hurdle at Wincanton last time. Trainer in form; effective over 2-3m, acts on any; can progress again now handicapping. Good run in her final novice and longer trip should assist now in her first handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/4 +18%)Harmony Heights |
9/4(+18%) | (2) Harmony Heights 9/4, Ran to form when stepped up in trip on handicap debut, beaten 2 1/4l off a 2lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; cheekpieces worn for the first time. Effective at 2 1/2m, acts on heavy and good, and may get further; latest form franked and more to come over staying trips in handicaps. Second on handicap debut at Lingfield (2m7f, soft) and may well have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 +21%)Kosasiempre |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Kosasiempre 11/4, Made mistakes but ran to form when fourth, beaten 15l in a handicap chase at Hereford last time. Usually held up and off a short break; effective over 2 3/4-3m, acts on soft and good; in form and on a fair mark on chase form. Returns to hurdling off a useful mark and she's won twice in this discipline. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +11%)Star Of Honour |
4/1(+11%) | (5) Star Of Honour 4/1, Rallied gamely and improved down in class under a positive ride when second, beaten 2l in a novice hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective at 3m in points, acts on soft and good to soft; a type to do better now handicapping up in trip. Perhaps flattered in her latest novice but she's up in trip for this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (15/2 +38%)Springs A Girl |
15/2(+38%) | (1) Springs A Girl 15/2, Disappointing when stepped up in trip on her hurdles return, well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time. Off a short break; effective over 2 1/2-2 3/4m and generally consistent over hurdles. Has the form to feature off this mark but current wellbeing an issue back from a break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HARMONY HEIGHTS has been consistent since switching to hurdles and a maiden triumph looks sure to come sooner rather than later. Fergal O'Brien's mare advertised her claims with a creditable second at Lingfield and can outstay her rivals in the newly-applied cheekpieces. Katie's Melody was no match for a couple of decent types at Wincanton, but moves into handicaps with heaps of potential. Kosasiempre is worth a second look back over timber.

Harry Derham's horses are running well and KATIE'S MELODY can join the party on her handicap debut.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
