Although second on his last three outings, KOCKTAIL BLEU has done little wrong and compensation could be on the cards. A reproduction of his latest effort in the Dovecote may be enough for him to get the better of chief threat Lisbane Park. Joe Tizzard's inmate arrives on the back of a narrow defeat at Exeter and he's likely to be in the thick of the action once more. Hurdling debutant Gambino is the pick of the remainder.

Solid performers LISBANE PARK and Kocktail Bleu bring the best hurdles form, while Gambino and Cecilia Star add interest.

Tongue tied when running poorly last time and had wind surgery soon afterwards. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Storming George shouldn't be judged too harshly on his latest seventh in a Grade 2 at Kempton and better is expected reverting to handicap company. However, GRAND VENDETTA got the better of a subsequent winner when opening his account at Taunton and an initial mark of 120 could prove to be lenient. Hereford scorer Glancing Jack and easy Doncaster winner Diamond Koda are others of interest in an open event.

The slightly shorter trip on drying ground may make GRAND VENDETTA's task a bit more tricky but he may also be the best prospect.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Having travelled with verve when lifting his second Greatwood Gold Cup over C&D, HELTENHAM may take some stopping in his bid to land this race for the third time. The runner-up subsequently franked the form with a close-up fourth in the Ultima, while the third scored at Kempton. Prairie Wolf regained the winning thread at Newcastle last month and may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Knappers Hill, who lurks on an attractive mark.

C&D specialist HELTENHAM (nap) is taken to land this prize for the third time. Scarface is second pick.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

INDANNYA left a lasting impression when beating Fresh As A Daisy at Warwick on New Year's Eve and put a lacklustre performance there behind her when getting back on track at Wincanton. She possibly just hated the deep ground at the Midlands venue last month and is well worth another go at this Grade 2 level. Getawhisky will no doubt prove popular given her connections and she's better judged on her Windsor success rather than her Market Rasen effort. Charisma Cat is another to bear in mind.

It's a fascinating puzzle but the vote goes to INDANNYA ahead of Charisma Cat, Trinity Street and Fresh As A Daisy.

(6) (125/1 -150%)Saint Arion |
125/1(-150%) | (6) Saint Arion 125/1, Pulled up in a maiden point at Chaddesley Corbett latest; returning from a break; dam win a bumper first time out; up against it on rules debut. Pulled up in point; interesting that connections throw him in at deep end for rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 -89%)Spanish Stroll |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Spanish Stroll 125/1, Outpaced, modest debut well beaten in a bumper at Kempton only start; may improve for further than 2m in time. Fits the bill on pedigree but made no impact on debut at Kempton; improvement required. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

DIAMOND STREET looked an above-average type when scoring on debut at Doncaster by 10 lengths and this has likely been the plan since for last year's winning trainer/jockey combination. Bailly's Comet confirmed the promise of his Wincanton success when finishing a solid third in Listed company at Cheltenham and he's another to take seriously, along with Kempton winner Lover Desbois and The Mad Poet.

Impressive Doncaster winner Diamond Street is feared but in receipt of 21lb the 4yo filly MADAM SPEAKER looks a viable alternative.

17/2(-21%) | (5) Xcitations 17/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Stratford latest where took wrong course; trainer in form; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; on workable mark, running back into form until latest. Grand servant; had an excuse when pulled up last time and should be thereabouts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

KOTMASK could be the one given he showed a lot more here last time when a one-length second. He sports a first-time tongue-tie and gets the nod ahead of Escapeandevade in a tricky handicap for punters to solve. The latter pulled up when sent off favourite at Sandown, but has less on his plate and was in good form previously. Palacio should also go well with a clear round.

The most appealing profile belongs to topweight ESCAPEANDEVADE who can bounce back after a break.

(8) (9/4 +50%)Havaila |
9/4(+50%) | (8) Havaila 9/4, Race may have come a bit soon when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; in good form prior; usually held up; effective 2m3f-3m2f, acts on heavy, good; generally consistent. Made all at Doncaster just after Christmas and had an excuse next time; could rebound. |

(3) (11/2 +8%)Makin'yourmindup |
11/2(+8%) | (3) Makin'yourmindup 11/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Lingfield latest where failed to stay 3m4f; off a short-break; effective 3m-3m2f, acts on heavy, good; plenty to prove after lay off but has dropped to last winning mark. Well held since lengthy break but mark has fallen and he's 2-2 over C&D; quite interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(5) (33/1 -83%)Almazhar Garde |
33/1(-83%) | (5) Almazhar Garde 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Doncaster latest; effective 3m+ on a sound surface; on a competitive mark still, in fair form until latest; dangerous if allowed to dominate. Not the force of old; poor run in veterans' chase at Doncaster latest; others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

BALLYCAMUS certainly has conditions in his favour and should go well if transferring his solid Ludlow form to this track, and he ought to as a former course scorer. The first-time cheekpieces also make him of interest and he gets the nod ahead of Elysian Knight, who is back in handicap company with a big shout on his Musselburgh form. King Turgeon and Makin'yourmindup can also have a say.

Nothing stands out here and a chance is taken on ELYSIAN KNIGHT who could be unexposed over this sort of trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
