NEWFANGLED shades the verdict in what looks a tricky apprentice handicap to kick things off. Although yet to win on turf, the four-year-old has run well in defeat on numerous occasions and recent all-weather performances suggest that he has gone to a new level since last running on this surface. My Ambition brings winning C&D form to the table and he warrants respect following a narrow defeat in 0-80 company at Bath. Drumstick and Windsor Pass are others to keep an eye on.

The vote goes to MY AMBITION (nap), who is the sole course winner in the field and looks like he's about to hit peak form.

A whole host of these look to hold claims, so BEAULD AS BRASS receives what can only be a tentative vote. This undeniably represents a step up in class for George Baker's charge but he looks to be improving all the time. With four wins under his belt in little over three weeks, the five-year-old arrives razor-sharp in terms of fitness and could take another step forward to land his biggest pot to date. Sweet Reward struck over C&D on his seasonal return and must enter calculations off a 5lb higher mark, while Sovereign Sea, Burrito and Expert Witness add further spice to the race.

Preference is for INTO BATTLE, who has a highly notable piece of C&D form and whose reappearance effort can be marked up.

Secret Santa and French Affair probably ran to a similar level on debut and both are respected with that experience under their belts, but there are a number of interesting newcomers here and WORDS OF TRUTH might prove the one. Charlie Appleby is often the go-to man in these juvenile races and his representative in this contest is certainly bred to have plenty of ability, being a half-brother to last year's Superlative Stakes winner Ancient Truth. Title Role cost 500,000gns at the recent Breeze-Ups and is worth a market check at the very least, along with Morris Dancer and Commander's Intent.

There are several interesting types among the newcomers, most notably WORDS OF TRUTH, Title Role, Humidity and Lohoobb.

A taking winner on debut at Thirsk last month, the well-bred MONTPELLIER is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming, and he can follow up under a 7lb penalty with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle. Narrowly denied at Doncaster last time out, Sea Force can follow him home for in-form connections, along with Abundance, who could be better suited by dropping back to 7f after a respectable third over further at Windsor.

Doncaster runner-up SEA FORCE has a leading chance at the weights and is taken to go one better. Montpellier is feared most.

INDIAN SPRINGS impressed on his first start as a three-year-old when scoring at Newmarket last month and he can uphold form with Time Allowed (fourth), who has over three lengths to make up with him. A 7lb penalty will make life more difficult, but Charlie Appleby's charge should have too much for Accentuate, who has not been in action since a promising third at Ascot last July. A well-bred son of Siyouni, Tokyo Joe is another open to improvement for connections who have been in excellent form lately.

There was a lot to like about the power-packed finish of INDIAN SPRINGS at Newmarket and he can follow up en route to better things.

Bred in the purple being related to several Group winners including Arc hero Waldgeist, CROWN IMPERIAL could be forward enough to take this on debut for leading connections. The trip is likely to suit and he is preferred to fellow newcomer and stablemate Valiancy, who is a half-brother to the classy Givemethebeatboys. Of those with experience, Caughtredhanded is entitled to come on plenty for his introduction.

The Wood Ditton fourth HINCHINBROOKE and fifth Caughtredhanded are preferred but the Haggas newcomers must be noted.

SILENT AFFAIR showed a lot more when finishing second on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton. The daughter of Saxon Warrior races off the same mark and can take full advantage. Channagide and Glenridding are just two others to consider.

Blue Tempus bumped into one at Beverley and can go well but the longer trip can see an improved showing from SPLIT SILK.

MOLTEN SEA made it two from four in handicap starts at Musselburgh when last seen and returns off just 2lb higher. William Haggas' filly should have no issues with this drop in distance and can go in again. Nibras Gold struck on his first start for the James Owen yard at Beverley last month and has to be respected, while One Cool Dreamer sports first-time cheekpieces and is another to consider.

Plenty of possibles but there should be more to come from AN BRADAN FEASA and he's preferred to One Cool Dreamer and Amancio.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
