The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The unexposed WAVE ROCK got off the mark in a similar event at Wolverhampton a few weeks ago and a 4lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop him from following up here. Staffordshire scored over C&D when last seen and is likely to be the main threat, despite a 6lb rise, while Maple also makes the shortlist.

C&D winner Staffordshire is second choice behind TEGGY LASSO (nap) who stepped forward at Southwell on his handicap debut.

11/1(-29%) | (4) Achnamara 11/1, Ran to recent level back on the Flat when beaten 5l in a handicap here last time; effective up to 16f on the Flat; mark keeps easing but needs more. On a handy mark but he's been quiet under both codes recently; steps back up in trip. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (80/1 -142%)Apache Eagle |
80/1(-142%) | (7) Apache Eagle 80/1, Below form when well beaten in a handicap at Chelmsford latest; effective 12-14f, acts on AW; inconsistent. Runner-up at Chelmsford last month but he failed to beat a rival there last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Lillistar has to be respected on her return to the Flat having won at Wolverhampton in October. That said, marginal preference is for FREE PIC, who is a previous course winner and her most recent efforts in defeat over 1m4f have been encouraging. The step up in trip may help the five-year-old to score for the second time. Colinski and Angelardo are others to consider.

Lillistar won at Wolverhampton when last seen on the Flat but ANGELARDO was second here last time and could be suited by this trip.

(2) (10/11 +24%)Vinciamo |
10/11(+24%) | (2) Vinciamo 10/11, Knew the job, showed plenty on promising debut third beaten 1/2l in a maiden at Newbury last April; has since switched yard; effective at 5f on good; more to come and good chance here. 20/1(0%) | (5) Dolo's Star 20/1, 14,500 euros Starman filly; half-sister to Udaberri, fair at 12f; dam useful at 11f; looks an unlikely winner on debut. 14,500euros foal; dam Italian 1m2f-1m3f winner; may be one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (33/1 +50%)Fenay Bridge |
33/1(+50%) | (3) Fenay Bridge 33/1, Modest debut when beaten 10l in a novice at Southwell; sprint bred; should improve but might need more time and handicaps. 66-1 when down the field at Southwell on her debut 15 days ago; others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MERLIER was only beaten a nose into second in a blanket finish on his debut over C&D a month ago. With the benefit of that experience, Archie Watson's gelding could be hard to beat on this occasion. Vinciamo has to be noted on his debut for Kevin Ryan having shown plenty of ability on his only start as a juvenile, while Celtic Arrow is the clear pick of the remainder.

Vinciamo is an interesting contender on his yard debut but MERLIER went close here on his debut and is taken to go one better.

15/8(+63%) | (3) Hilltop 15/8, Step back in right direction when fourth beaten 5l in a handicap at Southwell latest; off a short-break; suited by 7f, acts on a sound surface; mark competitive still. 4lb higher than for her Wolverhampton win in September; fourth at Southwell 67 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (3/1 -100%)Party Bear |
3/1(-100%) | (2) Party Bear 3/1, Closing well at line, ran to form third beaten 1/2l off 73 last time, same mark here; trainer in form; effective at 6/7f on AW; in form, fair mark still. Won at Lingfield in January and ran well in a competitive race there last time; claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (7/2 -17%)Renesmee |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Renesmee 7/2, Ran to best, up late when landing a handicap by a nose off a 5lb lower mark at Chelmsford last time; effective 8-10f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; penalty asks more but has a chance. Carries a 5lb penalty for her recent Chelmsford success; drop back to 7f may not be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 +71%)Bear Rock |
4/1(+71%) | (4) Bear Rock 4/1, Found little, below form when tenth beaten 4l off 72 last time, 1lb lower here; effective 6/7f, acts on good and AW; bounce back needed. Doubled her tally when winning at Wolverhampton in January; behind Party Bear latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (8/1 +0%)Penny Mountain |
8/1(+0%) | (5) Penny Mountain 8/1, Ridden to stay and finished strongly when second beaten 1 1/4l off 53 last time, 3lb higher here; effective at 6/7f, acts on soft and AW; largely consistent. Won a class 6 event here over 6f in January; reported to have bled when second last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Renesmee needed every yard of a mile to get up at Chelmsford on Saturday and the drop back to 7f has to be a concern, despite her rider's 7lb claim negating her 5lb penalty. The vote goes to PARTY BEAR. She ran with plenty of credit in a more competitive race at Lingfield and that form looks the strongest on offer. Bear Rock was behind the selection on that occasion but is better judged on her Wolverhampton success.

Hilltop is mostly conistent and is second choice behind PARTY BEAR who ran well when third in a competitive race at Lingfield.

9/2(+36%) | (7) Liquid Cooled 9/2, Outpaced when down the field in a maiden here most recent; off a short-break; wants at least 7f, so others preferred on handicap debut. Well beaten in three qualifying runs here (5f-7f); gelded ahead of his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 +9%)Container Express |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Container Express 5/1, Closed late as others stopped off strong pace beaten 2l off this mark here last time; effective 6/7f, shorter trip may suit better, acts on AW; bit short of early pace but can get involved. Won a C&D selling nursery in November and posted a good effort when third here last time. |

Finished third on his first three starts on the AW but he was behind Ganthorpe 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (14/1 +30%)Belling The Cat |
14/1(+30%) | (9) Belling The Cat 14/1, Probably best run yet off a break when beaten 9 1/2l in a novice at Southwell last time; entitled to improve for reappearance run and may do better now handicapping. Sixth in each of her three qualifying runs (5f-6f); back up to 6f for her handicap debut. |

(10) (18/1 -300%)Love Love Love |
18/1(-300%) | (10) Love Love Love 18/1, Similar moderate form to first two starts when down the field in a maiden at Chelmsford most recent; yet to show much ability but is bred to be much better than a 48-rated horse. Failed to progress in her qualifying runs (7f-7.5f); drops to 6f for her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (33/1 0%)Evelyn's Garden |
33/1(0%) | (11) Evelyn's Garden 33/1, Again ran to a poor level when down the field in a maiden here most recent; should be suited by 8-10f; handicapping now but surely wants further. Shown little at big prices in each of her three starts; now makes her handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (50/1 -178%)Freezing Havana |
50/1(-178%) | (12) Freezing Havana 50/1, Never involved despite drop in trip when well beaten in a novice here latest; speedily-bred; very light-framed and looks limited. Failed to beat a rival home in each of her three starts in novice company; handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Container Express had several of these in behind when third over C&D last month and has to be respected off the same mark. However, the seventh from that contest AUSPICIOUS might reverse the form. A winner over C&D in September, that was his first run since and it should have blown the cobwebs away. Ganthorpe is 2lb better off, having finished fifth, and has since performed well for third at Wolverhampton.

Ganthorpe can have his latest effort upgraded but AUSPICIOUS is selected having shaped better than the bare result last time.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 0%)Let's Go Hugo |
12/1(0%) | (2) Let's Go Hugo 12/1, Lacked pace beaten 5l in a handicap at Southwell last time; returning from a break; effective 5/6f, acts on sound surface; bounce back needed. C&D winner in September; below best in October and absent since; capable of bouncing back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (12/1 -200%)Master Dandy |
12/1(-200%) | (4) Master Dandy 12/1, Ran to best in landing a handicap by a head off a 2lb lower mark at Chelmsford last time; suited by 5/6f, acts on good to soft, good to firm and AW; taken just a small rise and can again go well. Won at Wolverhampton and Chelmsford in January; contender having been raised 2lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The hat-trick seeking Fortunate Star and double chasing Master Dandy are likely to be popular and both are capable of extending their winning runs. However, the former has a 5lb penalty, while the latter needed every yard of the trip to score at Chelmsford and looks vulnerable off 2lb higher. With that in mind, OKAMI could be the way to go. A C&D winner in January, the six-year-old has done well since joining Paul Midgley and could be the one for a bit of value here.

A chance is taken on LET'S GO HUGO on his first start for 131 days. Fortunate Star is respected and next on the list.

11/10(+63%) | (7) Tomorrow Day 11/10, Back to form upped in trip beaten a short-head off a 2lb lower mark at Chelmsford last time; effective 6/7f, all recent form on AW; down to a good mark and chance if building on latest. Excellent record over C&D and on a very attractive mark if building on Chelmsford second. |

(4) (11/4 +39%)Instant Bond |
11/4(+39%) | (4) Instant Bond 11/4, Bit keen, below form beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time; probably effective 5-7f, acts on AW; largely consistent and eased in weights. Not seen it out over 7f lately; this mark is surely within range if things fall his way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (10/3 -105%)Tickets |
10/3(-105%) | (5) Tickets 10/3, Ran to form, good attitude when winning a classified race here by a head last time; suited by 6f, effective 5f, wants a sound surface; chance back in a handicap. Serial hard-puller who can miss the break; player for a yard that's made a bright start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/1 -56%)The Gay Blade |
7/1(-56%) | (3) The Gay Blade 7/1, Ran to form when winning a classified race here by a neck last time; effective 6/7f, acts on any; on a roll and can go well back in a handicap. More on his plate back into a handicap off this mark, but nothing arrives in better form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (16/1 +0%)Golden Prosperity |
16/1(+0%) | (2) Golden Prosperity 16/1, Bit keen and below form on return when beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap here last time; suited by 6f and a sound surface; likely to come on for return. Usual cheekpieces are back in place but will need to step up a deal on his comeback effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (33/1 -18%)Colour Code |
33/1(-18%) | (6) Colour Code 33/1, Never in it after a slow start down in trip when beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; effective at 6f, acts on AW; bounce back needed and remains high in weights. Usually misses the break and can pull hard, as was the case on her 5f comeback; risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (33/1 -267%)Turbo Command |
33/1(-267%) | (1) Turbo Command 33/1, Below form, perhaps made too much use of when beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap here last time; top course jockey; effective 6-8f on a sound surface; not ruled out down in trip but returning from long layoff;. Entitled to need this at his age, returning from a year off, and would want to see support. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Mohammed Tabti has built a good rapport with The Gay Blade and a third consecutive C&D success for the seven-year-old isn't out of the question from a still competitive rating. However, he was over three lengths behind INSTANT BOND when they last clashed and reverting to 6f could be a good move for the Michael Wigham-trianed gelding. Tickets was a narrow track-and-trip winner in a classified stakes last time and can play another strong role given this isn't a much tougher assignment.

The well-handicapped TOMORROW DAY emerged from a spell in the doldrums recently and his excellent record over C&D earns him the vote.
Ths is the racecard key.
