|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (4/1 +20%)Sea Legend |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (9/2 +59%)Tasever |
9/2(+59%) | (2) Tasever 9/2, Scored by a neck off a 4lb lower mark here in February; did plenty early ran to form eighth beaten 5l off 69 last time, same mark here; wide draw; effective 7/8f, acts on any, form mainly on AW these days; needs more to defy this mark. Six-time course winner; has never won off a mark this high but Harry Vigors removes 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (7/1 +30%)Bajan Bandit |
7/1(+30%) | (6) Bajan Bandit 7/1, Flattened out having met trouble beaten 4l off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell last time; suited by 7/8f, acts well on AW; not at best of late but mark is easing. Some good form here this winter but appears to have gone off the boil on last few starts. |

(1) (16/1 -33%)Roger Henry |
16/1(-33%) | (1) Roger Henry 16/1, Ran to form beaten 1/2l off a 2lb higher mark here last time; absent for very lengthy period; effective 10-12f on AW; should run well. Went close here in September 2024 but has a hefty absence to defy on this stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

20/1(-67%) | (7) My Awele 20/1, Forced wide from poor draw down the field in a handicap at Lingfield most recent; cheekpieces first time; effective 6-8f, acts on sound surface; inconsistent, drop in trip a plus. Reduced mark and return to 1m are positives but others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (25/1 -14%)Trais Fluors |
25/1(-14%) | (9) Trais Fluors 25/1, Scored by a head off this mark here in January; never threatened having missed the break fifth beaten 5 1/4l off 55 last time; effective 7/8f, prefers a sound surface; bounce back needed but on competitive mark, run style requires luck. Won over C&D in January but this 12yo's subsequent form has been patchy. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The face value of DREAM ILLUSION's victory in a fillies event at Southwell is compelling enough to suggest she can go very close in this company. A rise of just 2lb for that defeat of an 81-rated opponent suggests Michael Herrington's four-year-old has been given and big chance of extending her run of good form. The hat-trick seeking Law Supreme is an obvious threat, while Sea Legend and Tasever both go well here.

This could go to SEA LEGEND, who won over C&D last month and should appreciate the step back up in trip.

12/1(-20%) | (3) Hachiman 12/1, Bit free, never threatened beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Southwell last time; effective 1m, only reliable form on AW; inconsistent, looking flattered by maiden win. Lightly raced 4yo who didn't run badly on recent stable debut and could be sharper today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 +25%)West Tyrone |
12/1(+25%) | (2) West Tyrone 12/1, Ran to form when second beaten 4l in a handicap at Ayr latest; effective 8-10f, acts on AW; tapeta winner needs to build on recent revival. Lacks a recent outing but this Tapeta winner is not ruled out on his stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

EAZY ON THE EYE seemed harshly treated when she was demoted from first to second at Wolverhampton last week. However, she could be considered as a winner without a penalty and looks worth another chance in what appears to be a weaker race. Jamaican Storm can make a fist of things if building on a couple of improved efforts over a mile, while Book Of Life, Concert Boy and Alpine Sierra are effective on Tapeta and are all capable of being on the premises.

Five-time course winner CONCERT BOY was short-headed here two starts ago and can be excused his subsequent defeat here.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (22/1 -10%)Ignac Lamar |
22/1(-10%) | (12) Ignac Lamar 22/1, Never threatened off modest pace in race dominated from front beaten 10l in a handicap here last time; returning from a break; effective 6/7f, acts on AW; much better on AW but unreliable. Runner-up over C&D in October; returns from a break today and he's inconsistent. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Because LORD CAPULET is a three-time C&D winner, has a traditionally beneficial high draw and has previously won under Shane Gray is enough evidence to champion the consistent four-year-old as the one to be with. Anthropologist, who is weighted to reverse the Southwell form with Camera Shy, is suggested as the chief danger, although Phoenix Of Dreams only went up 2lb for his track-and-trip win and is dangerous to overlook.

The lightly raced 4yo LORD CAPULET won three in a row over C&D earlier this year and can return to winning ways now that he's back here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Yorkshire Glory has to be respected on the back of five consecutive victories in recent weeks, but marginal preference is for WATER OF LEITH. Jim Goldie's gelding had plenty in hand when winning over 6f at Wolverhampton 11 days ago and he is 3lb well-in here, despite carrying a 4lb penalty. Pit Boss is also 3lb well-in as a result of his C&D success last week and is another to consider.

The winning machine YORKSHIRE GLORY keeps on finding the necessary further improvement and is taken to complete a six-timer.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sherlock won over 5f here a month ago and has to be noted, but a 6lb rise demands much more from him now. As a result, the vote goes to TEARDROPS, who was narrowly denied over C&D three weeks ago and a 2lb rise for that effort should be workable. Others who make the shortlist include Tickets, Elvetham and Miss Rainbow.

Kevin Ryan's SHERLOCK relished the drop to sprinting for the first time when scoring over 5f here last month and may follow up.

POWER FIZZ won a valuable event at Ascot on his penultimate start in May last year. He was not disgraced when fourth at Goodwood on his latest outing later that month and William Haggas' gelding merits the utmost respect on his return to action. Twilight Calls should not be underestimated following a spell in Dubai, while Rousing Encore and Wicket Keeper are others who make the shortlist.

Power Fizz (second choice) and Hockney look capable of better but TWILIGHT FUN could have a fitness edge over them.

Plenty with claims, but SAYTARR looks worth sticking with given the ease of his latest success. He looked to have plenty left up his sleeve when pulling clear at Southwell and the hat-trick beckons for the son of Mehmas. Course regular Flying Fletcher is holding his form well and will likely have a say in proceedings, while Brewing travels over from Ireland on a tempting mark. Nyman and Maestro Bernstein are not out of it either.

The way in which SAYTARR (nap) travelled last time suggests he can cope with another rise in the weights and make it 3-3 for this yard.

It could pay to concentrate on those with recent form and BEST RATE looks worthy of another chance. Richard Hannon's charge was set a more difficult task last time, but was beaten only a length when fourth at Lingfield before that and can compete off a 2lb lower mark here. Eligible could bounce back having missed the break on his latest start, while Benacre won over C&D last month and is another to consider.

Thriving pair CARGIN BHUI and Flowstate might fight this out, with the former narrowly preferred.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sports Coach reversed earlier running with Master Of My Fate when scoring with a bit in hand at Southwell. He can feature again on that evidence, while Station X will be sharper for last month's one-length defeat over 6f and could also make his presence felt. TIRIAC won a couple of times over C&D at the end of last year and, with the form of his latest success working out well, he could be the one.

Sports Coach should go well but REIGNING PROFIT looked a threat to him when hampered late on at Southwell recently and gets the nod.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
