16:55 Newcastle (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Census boasts an appealing profile, winning one from his three starts in maiden/novice company, and is one to watch in the betting market on his handicap bow. However, NIMINY PIMINY was given an enterprising ride when beaten a length into second at Sandown last time, racing wide throughout, and could go one better. The handicapper may have been kind to only put her up 1lb for that effort and an all-weather record of 2-3 further enhances her claims. Best Adventure is another to keep an eye on.

It may be worth chancing SEA LEGEND who is 8lb lower than for his sole win over C&D and has not enjoyed the rub of the green lately.

17:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

STAR CAST produced her best effort yet when filling the runner-up spot over 1m2f at Ayr earlier in the month and runs off 2lb lower here. Providing Gemma Tutty's filly can back that display up, she will prove hard to beat. Despite failing to justify favouritism on his handicap debut, Big Win still showed promise when finishing third over an extended 2m at Southwell and the son of Galiway will appreciate this drop back in distance. Cushty isn't out of it either.

The focus is on Big Win and STAR CAST. Gemma Tutty's filly split an in-form pair at Ayr last week, so receives the cautious vote.

18:00 Newcastle (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ROMEO MONTAGUE is progressing nicely and got off the mark by a nose at Lingfield latest. Richard Spencer's youngster makes his first appearance in a nursery and could defy his opening rating of 78. Dandy's Rocket bounced back to form when second over 7f at Chelmsford earlier in the month and he warrants respect cutting back in trip. Of the remainder, Pull The Rug makes most appeal.

Sioux Perfect, aided by blinkers, has raised her game. However, in an interesting nursery, the pick is Ed Bethell's PULL THE RUG.

18:30 Newcastle (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having made light work of the opposition when making all at Musselburgh earlier this month, Empirestateofmind merits respect in his follow-up bid. However, LOOK BACK SMILING boasts some solid handicap form at the foot of the weights and rates the one to beat on this switch to selling company. Dual C&D winner Cephalus may appreciate a return to this venue and is the pick of the remainder.

The vote goes to LOOK BACK SMILING who is favoured by the conditions and has winning form here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PALADIN returned to form with a good second at Southwell a fortnight ago and could go one better this evening. A 2lb higher mark looks workable for Charlie Johnston's gelding and he edges the verdict over top-rated Heavenly Heather. The four-year-old has finished third on her last two outings over 6f and looks ready for another crack at 1m. The down-in-class Atlantic Gamble could also have a say reverting to the all-weather.

The choice is PALADIN based on his Southwell success last December and his recent second of 13 back there.

19:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RING OF GOLD has upped his game since returning to 7f, as displayed when recording a track-and-trip double here last month, and further glory could be imminent. The eight-year-old's will to win is sure to stand him in good stead and a further 2lb nudge up the ratings appears surmountable. Woodrafff is only 4lb higher than his latest triumph over C&D and is feared most, ahead of stable debutant Filey Beach.

Several are in-form contenders but WOODRAAFFF (nap) appeals most after a smooth C&D win last month. Ring Of Gold is second choice.

20:00 Newcastle (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A tentative vote goes to YAAJOOZ, who was narrowly denied over C&D last month and looks the one to beat on this occasion off 2lb higher, with Joanna Mason returning to the saddle. Raised 5lb for her most recent victory over track and trip earlier in the month, Samra Star is entitled to be thereabouts, along with Cusack and fellow course winner King's School.

King's School has his ideal conditions but THE CHILDE OF HALE is low mileage and can bounce back from a low-key Ayr run last time.

20:30 Newcastle (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SECOND FIDDLE has gone from strength to strength since joining the Iain Jardine stable and a 5lb penalty for her most recent easy success over C&D may not be enough to prevent her from landing the five-timer. Mercurius Power (third) is 10lb better off with the selection for finishing two and a quarter lengths behind her here last month and he can have a say, along with Electric Avenue, who ran her best race for some time when second over C&D most recently.

This revolves around SECOND FIDDLE. She bolted up over C&D on Tuesday, making it 4-4 for Iain Jardine, and can defy a 5lb penalty.
