|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (7/1 -155%)Ruler Legend |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (3) (14/1 -75%)Yapper Hill |
14/1(-75%) | (3) Yapper Hill 14/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Kelso last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on good ground; may progress now handicapping but current mark demands improvement. Has shown some ability in a point/novice hurdles; not ruled out on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SHE'S NOTJOEKING produced a better effort when third at Ayr latest and might not need much more in order to land a moderate handicap hurdle like this. Ruler Legend isn't without a squeak providing his Southwell fall hasn't left a mark, while those looking for a bit of each-way value should consider Expelliarmus, who could go well if ridden a bit closer to the pace.

This may not take much winning and it could be a good opportunity for SHE'S NOTJOEKING (nap), who ran well at Ayr last month.

Effective around 2m on soft or good to soft ground; consistent before latest and may be vulnerable to improvers. Below par on handicap debut but consistent previously; leading player if he's back on song. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6/1(+50%) | (2) Glenville 6/1, Looked in need of a stiffer test and was not given a hard time when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Ayr last time. 3/1(-60%) | (9) Hunters Spring 3/1, Finished fourth, beaten 5 1/4l, in a maiden hurdle at Perth on her latest start. Returns from a short break and looks a genuine threat. Course bumper winner; her hurdle debut fourth at Perth gives her something to build on. |

10/3(+5%) | (4) Mr Lincoln 10/3, Below form when well beaten in a handicap at Galway on his latest start. Returns from a long absence but could be involved if back to his best. Ex-Irish; absent since August 2024 but he's a leading contender if retaining his ability. |

|PU| (6) (150/1 -50%)The Low Ball |
150/1(-50%) | (6) The Low Ball 150/1, Keen and ran poorly on debut, finishing down the field in a bumper at Ayr most recently. Returns from a long layoff and has plenty to find. 24l third on sole point start but tailed off at 100-1 on bumper debut at Ayr in March. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MR LINCOLN could be the way to go following an absence. The market may tell us more, but his most recent hurdling effort was an encouraging one when he finished a close-up third at Cork. He's Bresilian had posted some decent efforts in defeat prior to a lacklustre Wetherby performance and is worth another chance back in maiden company. Hunters Spring is noted too.

Preference is for point winner U S MARSHALL, who was an encouraging third on last month's hurdle debut at Uttoxeter.

Stable debut gave some encouragement for today's return to a longer trip; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (14/1 +58%)Fainche |
14/1(+58%) | (6) Fainche 14/1, Needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Kelso last time; effective up to 3m, acts on testing ground; form has tailed off. Longstanding maiden (0-28); off 321 days before her recent heavy defeat at Kelso. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/2 +61%)Carrhill |
11/2(+61%) | (3) Carrhill 11/2, Improved on his final qualifying run but looked in need of a stiffer test when fourth beaten 12l in a maiden hurdle at Carlisle latest; cheekpieces first time; effective at 2m1f, acts on soft; likely improver stepping up in trip on handicap debut. Up from 2m1f for today's handicap debut; first-time cheekpieces as well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (22/1 -38%)Raceview Road |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Raceview Road 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Hexham last time; regressive in that sphere since debut win last year; hard to fancy back over hurdles. Struggled last four starts; back hurdling after seven months off, following wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (50/1 +24%)Goodoldbill |
50/1(+24%) | (11) Goodoldbill 50/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Kelso last time; effective at 3m; out of form over hurdles and fences since long lay off. Nothing of note since winning over fences at Newcastle (3m, soft; 33-1) in November 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (14/1 -17%)King Casey |
14/1(-17%) | (5) King Casey 14/1, Ran to form, just about seeing out the trip when fourth beaten 11l in a handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time; effective over 3m, acts on good to soft and good ground; improving in handicaps, fair mark on maiden form. Best effort when 11l fourth of nine in handicap at Market Rasen (3m, good) in June latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

King Gris would have every chance if turned out quickly following his Hexham victory on Wednesday, but BIG ZOUK is preferred. The point-to-point scorer has shown very little in three novice/maiden runs, but could take a significant step forward now sent handicapping and going back up in trip. Punters should also keep an eye on Tees Comp's Clive and Snowrocco.

This revolves around yesterday's winner King Gris. If he does not run again, the best option may be BIG ZOUK.

Needs to raise his game but the cheekpieces may help and his yard is in good form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (9/1 +10%)Singapore Trip |
9/1(+10%) | (9) Singapore Trip 9/1, Scored by 2l off 101 at Wetherby on his penultimate start; ran to form when third, beaten 7l off 104 last time; effective at 2 1/2m, acts on any going; in form and remains well treated on best efforts. In good heart at Wetherby on his two runs this autumn and he's in with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

25/1(-127%) | (13) Wise Move 25/1, Returned to form up in trip when beaten 3l off 95 at Hexham last time; effective around 3m; could build on that revival. The drop back in trip may suit; has to be at the very top of his game after some time off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (22/1 -38%)Byron Hill |
22/1(-38%) | (7) Byron Hill 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Perth last time; in fair form prior; returns from a short break; generally consistent. Question mark regarding stamina/current form, but the return to hurdling could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (20/1 -25%)Dontyawantme |
20/1(-25%) | (5) Dontyawantme 20/1, Made too much use of up in grade when well beaten in a Mares' Novice Hurdle (Limited Handicap, Grade 2) at Newbury latest; absent for a very lengthy period; effective at 2 1/2m; fair mark on novice form but must prove ability remains after the layoff. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (4) (50/1 -127%)Achnamara |
50/1(-127%) | (4) Achnamara 50/1, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap at Carlisle most recently. Out of form on flat of late but did win over hurdles in spring; risky. Two wins last winter but failed to shine subsequently; returns from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (7/1 -8%)Dinons |
7/1(-8%) | (1) Dinons 7/1, Keen and made mistakes when a bit below form, finishing 14l third in a handicap hurdle here last time; effective from 2m4f to 3m, acts on good to soft and good ground; capable off this mark. Went close here last month and ran okay in higher grade here subsequently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (14/1 -17%)Aquitaine Boy |
14/1(-17%) | (11) Aquitaine Boy 14/1, Travelled well and ran to form but was outbattled late again when beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle here last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m; consistent performer. C&D winner whose C&D fifth last time was step back in right direction; could take another. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (40/1 -21%)Nitty Gritty |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Nitty Gritty 40/1, Had every chance but ran below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield latest; effective at 2 1/2m; form has tailed off since a summer win in Ireland. Irish maiden hurdle winner but well beaten on both starts in Britain. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (250/1 -150%)En Avant |
250/1(-150%) | (14) En Avant 250/1, Went clear and made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ayr last time; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m; currently out of form. Promising third in July when back from long absence but below par on his four runs since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WASTHATOK only got as far as the third when attempting to supplement a C&D success on his return to fences at Catterick and can show his appreciation for the switch back to the smaller obstacles. Divilabother has done well since joining Tristan Davidson, although there is a suspicion that the handicapper has him in his grip - a remark that also applies to Dinons. A bigger threat may come in the shape of Baratablet, despite Nicky Richards' five-year-old lacking a recent run.

The very lightly raced BARATABLET could be a 5yo to follow for Nicky Richards and is taken to make a winning return.

1st (5) (15/8 -7%)Paddy O'mahler |
15/8(-7%) | (5) Paddy O'mahler 15/8, Jumped poorly but did well to finish as close as he did when second beaten 13l in a handicap chase at Wetherby last time; trainer in form, effective at 3m and looks fairly treated by the handicapper. 7/1(+50%) | (4) Blakey Boy 7/1, Fell in a handicap chase at Kelso last time; inconsistent over hurdles prior; effective over 2 1/2m and acts on good ground; needs to find more to be competitive over fences. Tailed off on return from summer break, before falling on chase debut last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/10 +51%)Jo Coko |
11/10(+51%) | (1) Jo Coko 11/10, Below form when fourth beaten 34l in a maiden hurdle here over shorter last time; returning from a long layoff and looks a likely improver now chasing up in trip for local yard. Straight to chasing on handicap debut for new yard and interesting judged on best efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (6/1 -167%)Cosmic Blizzard |
6/1(-167%) | (2) Cosmic Blizzard 6/1, Travelled and ran to form, just out-battled late by an unexposed rival when beaten a neck off 104 at Kelso last time; prolific in 3m points on decent ground and well treated on old Irish form. Beaten a neck at Kelso (2m7f, good) on second run for yard; cheekpieces are now given a go. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Paddy O'Mahler's jumping let him down at Wetherby when odds-on to confirm the promise of his chasing debut second. There will be plenty who keep the faith but a safer option might be COSMIC BLIZZARD, who only just failed to catch a subsequent winner at Kelso and the reapplication of cheekpieces could help spark that little bit of improvement necessary for him to go one better. Jo Coko hasn't been seen since February but commands attention on his handicap/fencing/stable bow.

Preference is for the promise of lightly raced and unexposed JO COKO, who makes his stable, handicap and chase debut.

Blinkers go on for the first time; effective between 2m and 2½m, acts on any ground, and a longer trip could suit. Disappointing at Kelso last time but first-time blinkers could have a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6/1 -33%)Walk On Quest |
6/1(-33%) | (1) Walk On Quest 6/1, Had every chance but needed the run and may not have stayed when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Kelso last time. Effective from 2m to 2½m, and the drop in trip should suit, though recent form has tailed off. Fine start to chasing career; things not gone to plan since but still one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/1 +50%)Joecooker |
4/1(+50%) | (3) Joecooker 4/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 7l, in a beginners' chase at Carlisle on his chase debut. Effective around 2½m and acts on soft and good to soft ground. Could do better over further now going over fences. Ran well in face of tough task on chase debut; interesting contender now back in handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (20/1 -11%)Gilbertina |
20/1(-11%) | (9) Gilbertina 20/1, Made mistakes and needed the run on chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Carlisle last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and suited by decent ground, but can be inconsistent. On a competitive mark on hurdle form and could improve for last month's chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 +33%)One More Stroke |
4/1(+33%) | (5) One More Stroke 4/1, Had every chance but needed the run when fourth, beaten 13l, in a handicap chase at Wetherby last time. Effective at 3m and handles any ground. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (13/2 -86%)Jet Legs |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (12/1 -41%)Choose A Copper |
12/1(-41%) | (4) Choose A Copper 12/1, Raced wide, jumped poorly and found little when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Hexham last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2½m on soft ground, but form has tailed off since debut win. Disappointing for majority of last term but perhaps first time up is the time to catch him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (11/4 +75%)Ailt An Chorrain |
11/4(+75%) | (6) Ailt An Chorrain 11/4, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Perth last time but returns after a short break. Considered a threat if back to his best off what could be lenient opening chase mark. Arrives with something to prove but this point runner-up isn't written off now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (20/1 -122%)Dream Jet |
20/1(-122%) | (8) Dream Jet 20/1, Ran to form when third, beaten 13l, in a handicap chase at Hexham on latest outing. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. Reliable and consistent. Chase wins have come at 2m1f/1m7f on good ground; different conditions today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WALK ON QUEST will be sharper for a recent comeback run and will also appreciate the drop in trip. He landed a four-timer over fences last season and, only 2lb higher than when successful at Kelso in March, the six-year-old should have more to offer this term. Jet Legs also returns to a shorter distance with solid claims on his victory at Hexham back in March, while Joecooker showed some promise at Carlisle on his chasing bow.

The lightly raced 6yo JOECOOKER made an encouraging start to his chase career at Carlisle and earns the vote now back in a handicap.

13/8(+46%) | (11) Thorneylands 13/8, 26,000 euros Getaway gelding; half-brother to Break My Soul, high-class over 20f; probably best watched on debut. In-form stable has a very healthy strike-rate in bumpers and he's firmly in calculations. |

20/1(-43%) | (6) Last Man Standing 20/1, Outpaced and well beaten in a maiden bumper at Hexham on his only start. Returning from a long layoff and has plenty to find. Just 7-2 on debut at Hexham in March but tailed off; this is his first run since. |

4/1(-14%) | (10) Tea Boy 4/1, Below debut form when comfortably held in a bumper at Catterick last time. Debut effort has been franked and he could bounce back. Only 5th at Catterick but major player if tapping back into promise of Hexham debut second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (80/1 -471%)Mhordart |
80/1(-471%) | (7) Mhordart 80/1, Dartmouth gelding; full-brother to Dartmhor, a very useful performer over 17f. Fourth foal; dam third in bumper/2m3f hurdle (RPR 89); a watching brief may prove best. |

150/1(-355%) | (1) Battle Of Cape 150/1, Found little when running a poor debut and was well beaten in an amateurs' bumper at Ayr on his only start. Has everything to prove. Half-brother to two winners; only 9-1 on debut at Ayr last month but he was tailed off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There was a lot to like about TEA BOY's debut at Hexham back in March. He finished a respectable second to a subsequent winner over hurdles on that occasion and a recent outing at Catterick should have brought Peter Atkinson's charge on a good deal. Last month's Hexham fifth Ronnie Russet is a likely improver, while Thorneylands and L'appel Du Large are newcomers to note.

The standard set by those who have raced isn't a strong one and this could go to debutant THORNEYLANDS for the in-form Nicky Richards.
Ths is the racecard key.
