5/4(+50%) | (2) Antrim 5/4, Run of race, off the mark when winning a novice here by 5l last time on final start for Gosdens; effective 10f, acts on G, AW; capable of better handicapping for new yard. Won comfortably from front in C&D novice; left the Gosdens for 130,000gns later in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(3) (15/2 -36%)Pride Of Donegal |
15/2(-36%) | (3) Pride Of Donegal 15/2, Won by 1 1/4l off a mark of 75 over 12f at Kempton on his penultimate start. Stopped quickly when the race may have come too soon last time. Suited by 10-12f and all runs on all-weather; could bounce back. Needs to bounce back from a Kempton flop but he's interesting on the earlier evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (15/2 +0%)Jodhpur Blue |
15/2(+0%) | (7) Jodhpur Blue 15/2, Again below maiden level when beaten 8 1/4l in a 7f handicap at Southwell last time. Effective from 7-9f and acts on all-weather but needs to find more to feature. 7f probably a negative back on his markedly higher AW mark latest; not entirely dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (15/2 -25%)Almekarem |
15/2(-25%) | (6) Almekarem 15/2, Small improvement, best work late when beaten 2l off 78 over 8f at Southwell last time; trainer in form; effective 8/9f, acts on AW; down 1lb and has a chance over longer trip. Strong finish last time and dam's side of the pedigree offer major encouragement for 1m2f. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Antrim shed his maiden tag at the fourth time of asking over C&D in October and is an interesting contender on his handicap/stable debut. However, SEA LEGEND bounced back to form when second over track and trip on his latest outing and might capitalise on his career-low rating. The in-form Jez Bomb is another to keep a close eye on.

Almekarem could pose a major threat but JEZ BOMB so nearly grabbed a win off today's mark over C&D last Thursday.

(1) (100/1 +50%)Crown Inn To Win |
100/1(+50%) | (1) Crown Inn To Win 100/1, Stepped back from a modest debut when down the field in a 6f novice at Southwell last time; should be effective between 6f and 8f and looks the type to do better in handicaps. Has cut little ice in a 1m Southwell maiden and 6f novice there this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (100/1 +50%)Petes Diamond |
100/1(+50%) | (6) Petes Diamond 100/1, Outpaced and beaten 8l in a 5f novice at Southwell on debut; speedily bred but may be suited by around 7f; significant improvement required. Never-dangerous debut seventh in 5f Southwell novice.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LAKE COMO showed a big chunk of improvement to fill the runner-up spot over this trip at Lingfield last month and the son of St Mark's Basilica looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark. Euston Hall was sent off favourite for his debut and could only manage fourth at Kempton, but he might be worth another chance. King's English cost 75,000 euros as a yearling and warrants a market check.

It could pay to side with George Boughey's LAKE COMO who advanced his form when second at Lingfield last time and can go one better now

10/3(+39%) | (3) Smartanck 10/3, Scored by 2l off 60 at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start. Wolverhampton winner (from 6lb lower); first start for this trainer (12,000gns purchase).. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (15/2 +32%)Panthere Noir |
15/2(+32%) | (5) Panthere Noir 15/2, Too keen, below form when beaten 8l in a nursery over 8f here last time; effective 6-8f, acts on G; bounce back needed down in trip. Disappointed last twice, including over 1m here latest; the least likely in this contest.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JACKABI is taken to build on last month's encouraging effort. Despite pulling hard, the son of Hello Youmzain did well to finish second at Wolverhampton and he could take advantage of an unchanged mark. Senor Campanaro also has a solid chance with improvement likely having been gelded since last in action, while Smartanck debuts for his new trainer and could shape well.

The tentative suggestion is the newly tongue-tied SMARTANCK on his first start for Antony Brittain. Jackabi rates next best.

Failed to beat rival on yard debut at York in July; since had breathing surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (14/1 +0%)Blazing Son |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Blazing Son 14/1, Won by a neck off 74 here three starts back; fluffed the start and below form last time; effective at 6/7f and acts on all-weather; may bounce back returned to this surface. Run best ignored (poorly drawn) at Doncaster last month; possibilities for this C&D winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A competitive event and just a tentative vote is for MR MISTOFFELEES, who went in here two starts ago and almost followed up at Southwell last time. Only beaten half a length into second on that occasion, another bold showing looks assured. Chances can be made for several others but C&D winners Midnight Lion and Eldrickjones are the pick of them.

Lots with chances but MR MISTOFFELEES posted a fine second at Southwell last time and this strong traveller edges the vote back at 7f

BRAVE TRAVELLER produced his best effort so far when making his nursery debut here 11 days ago and he's well worth another chance with the promise of more to come. King Victorious is the main danger as he boasts a similar profile to the selection and performed well for the silver medal at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago. Sunniva is noted too.

George Boughey's KING VICTORIOUS improved for the fitting of a hood when a fast-finishing second at Wolverhampton and can go one better

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

C&D winner Spun To Gold is highly progressive and is of obvious interest coming in here chasing a four-timer. He only won narrowly last time out, though, and might struggle to successfully concede weight to TEARDROPS, who was mightily impressive when scoring over the track and trip nine days ago. It may also be worth keeping an eye on Superior Council.

If the improving TEARDROPS can perform to a similar level to last week's win, then he can defy his penalty.

The runner-up at Southwell on his last couple of starts, True Promise debuts for his new trainer with solid claims. Dandy Dinmont is usually thereabouts at this level and found only one too good here last time, but it could be the turn of BRAZILIAN BELLE once again. Michael Dods' sprinter finished a creditable fourth in a tougher contest over C&D last month and the runner-up has since franked that form by winning.

Marginal preference is for DANDY DINMONT, for whom the fitting of headgear may give him the edge.

Orbital Chime looks likely to feature once again, having gone close at this track prior to winning over 6f at Southwell. However, DARK KESTREL finished a close fourth over C&D last week, despite a tardy start, and Antony Brittain's charge could make a bold bid only 3lb higher than when successful here in October. Castan makes more appeal than Darlo Pride of the remainder.

Preference is for ORBITAL CHIME (nap), who has shown he acts here and is the one obvious improver in the field.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

AISLING OSCAR bids for a hat-trick of course victories. Joshua Brown's 5lb allowance negates a penalty, and the progressive four-year-old will likely launch another strong challenge having narrowly beaten Concert Boy over a mile here three days ago. The latter looks sure to be thereabouts once again off an unchanged mark, while Pit Boss has placed at the track on his last three starts and could make his presence felt.

Aisling Oscar and CONCERT BOY had a good battle here on Tuesday but the latter may be able to turn the tables back at this trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
