The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SECRET OATH couldn't match the pace of the impressive Zelania when runner-up over the minimum trip at Nottingham. Saying that, the Godolphin filly stayed on well for second and gave the strong impression today's extra yardage would suit in the process. Mood Queen also came up against a smart winner when second at Kempton. The daughter of Kodiac looks likely to have a say in the outcome, while Butterfly Beach cost a hefty 470,000gns and is a newcomer to note.

The similar types SECRET OATH and Mood Queen are the biggest players on form. Butterfly Beach is the pick of the newcomers.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (16/1 -100%)Opera Wave |
16/1(-100%) | (4) Opera Wave 16/1, 9 and a 1/4 length fourth in a novice at Leicester first-time out; the form of the first three home that day has been franked; yard going well; could have improved from that debut effort but needs a bit more here Showed ability at Leicester but may not fully flourish until qualified for a mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (125/1 -25%)Platinum Babe |
125/1(-25%) | (5) Platinum Babe 125/1, Twice raced maiden; down the field in a novice at Windsor for her most recent run; finished last of ten runners on her debut at Leicester; difficult to fancy here Brings easily the worst form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Beaten only a neck over 7f at Yarmouth last time, ABLOOM improves with every start. The progressive Haggas filly showed a willing attitude on that occasion and pedigree suggests she should have even more to offer over today's longer distance. Vronti is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Heredia and could shape well on her introduction, while Azaniya showed ability last year and could prove competitive on her return to the fray.

The progressive ABLOOM is the form pick on her latest effort and she's bred to be suited by the new trip. Azaniya is interesting.

1st (5) (1/1 +43%)Crowd Quake |
1/1(+43%) | (5) Crowd Quake 1/1, Ran to form when raised 4lb and won a handicap by 1/2l off 62 over 8f here last time; steps up in trip with top jockey back on; effective from 8f to 12f and acts on any ground; in great form. Avoids a penalty for 1m win here last Saturday; close second in sole 1m4f attempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 +63%)Expressionless |
3/1(+63%) | (2) Expressionless 3/1, Performed slightly below form when beaten 4 1/4l in a 1m6f handicap at Nottingham; drops in trip now with a significant jockey booking and an easing official mark. Return to form would put him in the mix; now 3lb below last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/4 +31%)Meleri |
11/4(+31%) | (4) Meleri 11/4, Benefited from return to 12f when landing a Lingfield handicap by 1 1/2l off 65; effective at 10f but 12f suits better; not yet proven on fast ground; game and reliable. Scored on AW stepped back up to 1m4f last time; still unexposed at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (14/1 -17%)Lincoln Rockstar |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Lincoln Rockstar 14/1, Ran a bit below form without obvious reason when beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Beverley last time; a potential threat at best. Inconsistent since last win but has possibilities on penultimate effort. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Meleri won nicely on the Polytrack at Lingfield and merits consideration raised only 3lb. She's preferred to Enthused, who landed an amateurs race over a shorter trip at Chelmsford, but the progressive CROWD QUAKE makes most appeal of the three recent winners. Stuart Williams' charge escapes a penalty for his latest success, having landed an apprentices race over a mile here last week, and this longer trip is within his compass.

Two of the runners are ahead of the assessor but not bombproof. MELERI and Expressionless are plausible alternatives.

6/1(-20%) | (1) Aim For The Moon 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off 66 at Yarmouth last time; usually held up; effective from 10f to 12f and prefers a sound surface. Creditable second twice this year; filled same position in this race 12 months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (15/8 +6%)French Haven |
15/8(+6%) | (7) French Haven 15/8, Scored by 1/2l off 60 over 8f at Newmarket in May; well backed and ran to form up in trip when second, beaten a head, off 63 last time; cheekpieces go on for the first time; trainer in form; effective from 8f to 10f and wants a sound surface. Won at Newmarket in May; went close at Ripon last week; due to go up 3lb in future. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

12/1(-50%) | (2) Tequila 12/1, Ran roughly to novice form on handicap debut and seasonal reappearance when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Leicester; usually consistent; may not relish fast ground; up in trip and entitled to come on for that run. Open to improvement over this new trip with Leicester reappearance under her belt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/1 +50%)Silent Affair |
7/1(+50%) | (5) Silent Affair 7/1, Below form up in trip and back on turf when beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Newbury; significant jockey booking but unproven on fast ground; jury still out on stamina. Solid second on handicap debut; only midfield last time but may do better still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (2/1 +40%)Cape Flora |
2/1(+40%) | (3) Cape Flora 2/1, Possibly best of three runs when fourth, beaten 3 1/4l, in a novice at Chelmsford latest; steadily progressive and hard to assess accurately. Well bred; shaped promisingly last time; could well progress now handicapping; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (17/2 -21%)Queen Himiko |
17/2(-21%) | (6) Queen Himiko 17/2, Probably needed the run when well beaten in a maiden at Lingfield last time; usually consistent but not proven at this trip and unproven on fast ground; must show she retains 2yo form. Form dipped on reappearance having been easy to back; market may again guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Cape Flora warrants plenty of respect on her handicap debut for the Gosdens and she can go close off a mark of 70, but FRENCH HAVEN is narrowly preferred. Only beaten a head off this rating at Ripon, she sports first-time cheekpieces and, as she is due to go up 3lb for future races, she is entitled to go close. Aim For The Moon has to be respected too.

Unexposed contenders CAPE FLORA (narrowly preferred) and Tequila are interesting alternatives to the in-form French Haven.

1st (3) (6/5 +60%)Saxonia |
6/5(+60%) | (3) Saxonia 6/5, Ran to form when beaten a neck off 70 here last time; trainer in form; effective at 7f and 8f; acts on good to soft, good, and AW; below par on fast ground previously. Consistent sort who ran well over C&D last Friday; due to go up 1lb in future. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/2 +10%)Mini Mac |
9/2(+10%) | (6) Mini Mac 9/2, Had plenty to do and wasn't all out when scoring by 1 1/2l off 64 at Nottingham in May; ran to form when fourth, beaten a length off 67 last time; suited by a mile and a sound surface. Ran creditably over C&D last week and ties in with Saxonia on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/1 -144%)Earthwatch |
11/1(-144%) | (5) Earthwatch 11/1, Performed as expected when comfortably held in a novice over 10f at Windsor last time; now drops back in trip; similar level of form on all three starts. Major stable; open to progress now handicapping in Class 5; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (16/1 -33%)Bullington Bry |
16/1(-33%) | (8) Bullington Bry 16/1, Ran to the balance of his form when comfortably held in a novice over 6f at Yarmouth last time; not proven at this trip; difficult to assess accurately. Not solid on form but may improve now handicapping and back up in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (33/1 -136%)Classic Speed |
33/1(-136%) | (2) Classic Speed 33/1, Below form when back from hurdling and beaten 7l in a handicap at Kempton; may not relish fast ground and has something to prove. Dual AW winner; lacks recent match practice and isn't solid on turf form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (15/2 -50%)I Can Imagine |
15/2(-50%) | (4) I Can Imagine 15/2, Returned to form on second start of the season when second, beaten a head, in a novice at Lingfield; unproven on fast ground; mark a little stiff. Went close in novice event last time; possibilities if building on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (22/1 -57%)Zariela |
22/1(-57%) | (1) Zariela 22/1, Improved in a first-time visor when scoring by 1/2l off 67 at Yarmouth on her penultimate start; below form next time when fifth, beaten 8l off 70; bit to prove. Contrasting performances since fitted with visor; not sure what to expect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (9/2 +0%)Queen Of Good News |
9/2(+0%) | (7) Queen Of Good News 9/2, Ran close to form when 5l third in a handicap at Lingfield most recently; effective from 7f to 8f and ideally wants a sound surface. Maiden; has form figures of 333, all in Class 6, since wearing blinkers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Four-year-olds have won the last two runnings of this race, and that points to the chances of ZARIELA, twice a winner over a mile but only fifth last time out on slower ground at Windsor. If kept nearer to the early pace for a late challenge, he could get back to winning ways on this going. Saxonia deserves a second success after going under by a neck at Newmarket off 1lb lower and looks to be her biggest rival, while I Can Imagine may make the running and try to hold on for a place.

Consistent SAXONIA holds leading claims after running well over C&D last Friday. Earthwatch is second choice.

1st (1) (3/1 +63%)Lakers |
3/1(+63%) | (1) Lakers 3/1, Below form when tongue-tied on handicap debut, beaten 7l in a nursery at Newbury; had shown good form prior; returns from a long layoff and seems best on a sound surface. Has two notable pieces of 2yo form; had wind/gelding operations since last run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +40%)Cyclonite |
9/2(+40%) | (3) Cyclonite 9/2, Below form when up in trip and beaten 5l in a handicap at Goodwood; in good form prior; unproven on fast ground; best at 6f, probably doesn't stay 7f. Has a solid record at 6f; seemed to be outstayed over 7f at Goodwood last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2/1 +64%)Sixtygeesbaby |
2/1(+64%) | (2) Sixtygeesbaby 2/1, Well backed but disappointed on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 5l in a 6f race here on the Rowley Mile course; up in trip with a significant jockey booking; worth another chance to confirm smart novice form. Dual 6f winner; may do better still but brings mixed messages as regards this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (18/1 -112%)Art Market |
18/1(-112%) | (5) Art Market 18/1, Yard won this race last year; won by 1 1/4l off 79 here two starts ago; up 5lb and probably made too much use of when seventh, beaten 13l off 84 last time; effective from 6f to 7f, acts on any ground. Contrasting performances at Newmarket since being gelded; not sure what to expect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (4/1 -33%)Mr Ubiquitous |
4/1(-33%) | (9) Mr Ubiquitous 4/1, Well handicapped and won with something in hand when landing a handicap by 1/2l off 68 at Newbury; in excellent form and may be capable of defying a 6lb rise. Progressive; Newbury win on Tuesday took his handicap record to 5-9; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (14/1 -40%)Maui Breeze |
14/1(-40%) | (6) Maui Breeze 14/1, Well backed and ran to form when winning a Southwell maiden over 6f by 2 1/2l last time; up in trip; consistent. Moved in the right direction last year; open to further progress this term; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -150%)Khaldiya |
20/1(-150%) | (7) Khaldiya 20/1, Ran to form on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 4l in a 6f contest at Bath; best at 6f so far; acts on a sound surface. Most of her pedigree suggests this new trip is worth exploring; may progress. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having scored a shade cosily at Newbury three days ago, Mr Ubiquitous warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 6lb penalty and rise in grade does demand another career-best performance from Harry Eustace's gelding and preference is for the down-in-class SIXTYGEESBABY. The Starspangledbanner gelding looked one to follow when completing a double at Doncaster in April and may leave his subsequent fourth-placed handicap bow on the Rowley Mile behind him. Roman Centurion is the pick of the remainder.

With the cheekpieces retained, DAPPER GUEST could well complete a quickfire C&D double. Mr Ubiquitous is feared most.

11/1(-38%) | (4) Angel Shared 11/1, Roughly back to form on her third start of the season when beaten 3l off 80 over 5f at Nottingham last time; likes to make the running; up in trip; official mark has become competitive. Three-time 5f winner; ran creditably off 6lb higher over C&D last August; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 -22%)Profit Refused |
11/4(-22%) | (1) Profit Refused 11/4, Ran to form when making much of the running to land a handicap by a neck off 82 over 7f at Chester last time; not proven at this trip; acts on a sound surface; consistent but handicap mark is getting high. 2-3 for new yard and may improve further, provided she copes with return to sprinting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/3 +67%)Mercury Day |
10/3(+67%) | (3) Mercury Day 10/3, Below par when beaten 4l off 79 over 7f at Newmarket last time; back in trip; flattered in Listed company and otherwise disappointing this season. Worth a crack at this new trip; sole start on July course resulted in a win off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (9/1 -64%)Handle With Care |
9/1(-64%) | (7) Handle With Care 9/1, Ran to form when beaten 4l off 77 at Windsor last time; returns from a short break; effective from 6f to 7f; acts on fast ground; consistent and on a reasonable mark. Record is only 1-8 but she's a consistent sort; again likely to give her running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/1 +0%)Blue Zodiac |
11/1(+0%) | (5) Blue Zodiac 11/1, May have needed the run when beaten 8l in a handicap at Leicester last time; acts on good to soft and good to firm; all best 2yo form came at 5f; may not stay 6f. Gained her 2yo wins over 5f; failed to get home over 6f on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (12/1 +52%)Jewel Of London |
12/1(+52%) | (6) Jewel Of London 12/1, Below par when beaten 9l in a handicap at Leicester last time; disappointing on both starts in 2025 off stiff marks; handicapper is relenting now. Down the field in two handicaps this term; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (13/2 +13%)Cressida Wildes |
13/2(+13%) | (8) Cressida Wildes 13/2, Ran to form when beaten 2 1/2l off 77 at Bath last time; consistent and on a fair mark; significant jockey booking. Has respectable form but she's quite an exposed 3yo and record is just 1-15. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 3lb rise in the ratings for SEA EMILY RUN's latest triumph at Chester could prove to be on the lenient side. That looked a competitive race for the grade and there should be more to come from Tom Clover's filly. Profit Refused also arrives on the back of a triumph at the Cheshire track and, having scored a shade cosily, is an obvious danger. Fellow in-form rival Cressida Wildes may fare best of the remainder.

Off an attractive mark returned to this track, MERCURY DAY (nap) is particularly interesting. Angel Shared is second pick.
Ths is the racecard key.
