The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sanaam showed plenty of promise on his Pontefract debut when a half-length second and with the Crisford stable successful in this race twice since 2018, it may well have been a target. Authentic Charm was a two-length second at Haydock and is another to consider, but WORDS OF TRUTH might be able to give them 7lb and a beating. Gelded after a Newbury eighth, he won a decent Ascot maiden readily enough and can only build on that performance.

This will be no cakewalk but WORDS OF TRUTH created a positive enough impression at Ascot to believe he can defy a penalty.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Albeseeingyer is the only C&D winner in this field after scoring just over a year ago but although she drops in class, she hasn't struck since and races off 5lb higher. The returning Evanka makes her handicap debut off a lowly mark and could surprise now upped a furlong for the in-form Peter Chapple-Hyam stable, but IRONIST is preferred. Beaten a length at Yarmouth after possibly hitting the front too soon, she can go one better.

Preference is for ALBESEEINGYER, a C&D winner last year who wasn't at all disgraced in a higher grade at Chester last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Princess Mia battled on well to win at Yarmouth and can go well off just 3lb higher, despite the rise in class, after just the four career starts. HARSWELL RUBY was desperately unlucky when beaten a nose at Doncaster, though, failing to find a clear run at a crucial stage before finally mounting her challenge. She may make amends off 2lb higher. Narrow Brighton winner Berning Hot is another to consider, with her 5lb rise balanced out by Tommie Jakes' claim.

Most of the runners are worth a good look and preference for PRINCESS MIA is only slight, following her recent Yarmouth win.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Sands Of Spain made the frame in the Super Sprint at Newbury prior to being well held in the Molecomb at Goodwood, but he sets the standard for the others to aim at. Sapphire Steps hasn't been able to build on her debut victory in Group 3 and Listed company since, so will need to bounce back. The one who makes most appeal is JUSTCALLMESERGIO. The Clive Cox-trained son of Sergei Prokofiev caught the eye when scoring in good style at the first time of asking at Bath last week and may take a big leap forward.

Sands Of Spain is the proven class act but a chance is taken on ERBIL who shaped with significant promise at Doncaster.

5th (5) (11/2 -38%)Curran |
11/2(-38%) | (5) Curran 11/2, Scored by 1 1/4l off 69 over CD in June; fourth beaten 5l off 74 last time; conditions suit well; bit in and out but player if near top of game and has conditions in favour Good and bad off this sort of mark since his last win in June which did come over C&D. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Curran struck in good style over C&D in June and has run well in defeat since, so he has to be respected. However, today might finally be the day for PERCY SHELLEY. The six-year-old has hit the crossbar in each of his last three outings, most recently at Newbury, and this looks a suitable assignment. Arqoob lurks on an appealing mark and the application of blinkers for the first time might spark a revival.

It might be worth chancing a return to form for CURRAN who returns to the scene of his last success.

22/1(-120%) | (6) Marajito 22/1, Improved for ready win under aggressive ride scored by 1 1/2l off 68 at Redcar three starts back; fifth beaten 4l off 74 last time; conditions suit; on stiff mark but not out of it Made all at Ripon in June but less good twice since, including behind Tiva 19 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (5/1 +44%)Sensorium |
5/1(+44%) | (4) Sensorium 5/1, Fourth beaten 7l in a handicap over 6f here latest; blinkers first time; conditions suit; way below 2yo levels in two runs this term but drop back to 5f may help and threat off current mark Drops back to 5f with blinkers fitted; still has low mileage; one to consider. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Tiva justified market expectations when regaining the winning thread at Ripon, although an 8lb rise looks harsh. With that in mind, SENSORIUM gets the vote. The son of Kodiac finished fourth in this class over 6f here last week and has been dropped 2lb. He cuts back a furlong in trip and sports blinkers for the first time, which might bring out the improvement required. Last-time-out Newbury scorer Hk Fourteen is another to note.

Sensorium can go well back at 5f and blinkered but the progressive HK FOURTEEN (nap) can win again at this trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
