13:50 Newmarket (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MALTESE CROSS shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up on debut at Ascot and, with normal improvement, the son of Sea The Stars can go one better. That may be at the main expense of costly purchase Del Maro, who looks like a work in progress for leading connections, despite having an entry in the Futurity Trophy next month. Moonlight Warrior is an interesting newcomer by Gleneagles to consider, especially if there is market support.

Godolphin's DEL MARO has run well to be placed on his first two starts and could have more to offer now back on better ground.

14:25 Newmarket (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of MONOCEROS for the connections who have won this for the past two years. The son of Dubawi put in a disappointing effort at Leicester when a short-priced favourite, but he won on the July Course here before that and stepping up to 1m is expected to suit as he bids to see off the likely challenge of easy Lingfield scorer Loblolly. Dark Shore's form in maidens has been well franked by the winners.

Charlie Appleby has won the last two runnings and can make it three in a row with MONOCEROS, who could relish the step up to 1m.

15:00 Newmarket (Class 2) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Not beaten far behind Angel Shared and Shallow in recent starts on the July Course, ARABIAN LEOPARD remains on a nice rating and returning to the Rowley Mile should be ideal. A winner over 7f here in May, David Simcock's charge can stay on stronger than the likes of narrow Yarmouth runner-up Lady Roxby and Royal Velvet, who tries 6f for the first time after landing a valuable handicap at York last month.

Royal Velvet finished in front of SHALLOW (nap) at York last month but the placings can be reversed back at 6f.

15:35 Newmarket (Class 1) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

An intriguing contest with a host of promising youngsters heading to post, but perhaps none more so than ARCHER ROYAL. The Blue Point colt looked in need of the experience at Chelmsford, but that didn't stop him from coming home best of all and he has an entry in the Futurity Trophy next month. Distant Storm was a shade disappointing in the Acomb, but it's far too early to be writing him off and he remains of interest for a trainer who won this in 2020 and 2021. Commander's Intent is also noted.

The 1,900,000euros Godolphin colt DISTANT STORM did well to finish third in the Acomb at York having pulled hard and he earns the vote.

16:10 Newmarket (Class 1) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Having been gelded after a lacklustre performance in the Princess Of Wales's Stakes, PALLADIUM cut a rejuvenated figure at Salisbury recently. The son of Gleneagles made all to hammer a small field and, if kicking on, this contest could be his for the taking. Live Your Dream is the main threat on official ratings and although absent for 732 days, he almost defied a lengthy layoff in 2023. Strassia struggled in the Park Hill at Doncaster, but this is just her second start for the David O'Meara team and it would be folly to write her off.

With chief form rival Live Your Dream absent for two years this has the look of a good opportunity for PALLADIUM.

Hugo Palmer won this last year with a three-year-old and is back for more with My Kinda Ghaiy, who races off bottom weight on his second start since being gelded. He has to be respected, but SHRIMP SHADY gets the vote. Returning from close to a year off when a distant third at Kempton, he may have needed the race more than connections thought and can only improve for it. First Officer has won twice here over shorter and is another to consider.

A consistent profile this year makes SECRET BEACH the solid option here.

17:18 Newmarket (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Three-year-olds have a good record in this, making up six of the last 10 winners, and GORGEOUS MR GEORGE can enhance the record. A running-on half-length second over 7f at Yarmouth last week, he will appreciate the extra yardage and is 3lb well-in. Just Typical was raised 7lb after an easy victory at Redcar, but that doesn't come into effect yet so he can go close under his 5lb penalty. Savvy Kingdom might chase them home.

Having won easily at Redcar last Tuesday, JUST TYPICAL(nap) can defy a 5lb penalty and post his sixth win of the year.
