(3) Monty Searle 11/1, Malinas gelding who was successful on last of 5 starts in points (Dec 2023) and he displayed fair form when second in 5-runner Exeter maiden hurdle (21.6f) on Rules bow 17 days ago. Possible he can build on that here.
British point winner who was promising 2nd on belated rules debut; could have part to play.

Dr Eggman

4/7(-14%)
(2) Dr Eggman 4/7, Irish raider who displayed useful form in bumpers and made the frame in his first 3 starts in maiden hurdles earlier this year. Latest run back from 2 months off at Naas has to go down as disappointing but this looks an excellent opportunity.
Turned over at odds-on the last twice but nevertheless holds stand-out form claims today.

(4) Rattling Road 11/2, £40,000 purchase after winning an Irish point in April 2022. Has progressed with each outing over hurdles since the turn of the year, shaping particularly encouraging when third at Wetherby (2m, heavy) 4 weeks ago. Step up in trip promises to suit and likely he can feature.

13:50 Perth Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Willie Mullins sends 132-rated DR EGGMAN over the Irish Sea and he looks way ahead of his opponents in this contest. The son of Saint Des Saints disappointed when odds-on at Naas earlier in the month, but his form before that is more than good enough. Dexterity hit the crossbar on his only point-to-point start and he goes for the in-form Olly Murphy stable, while Monty Searle could be the one for third.

DR EGGMAN has proved expensive to follow in a handful of starts over hurdles to date but this rates a good opportunity for Willie Mullins' charge to make amends and he can come out on top with the hood retained. Rattling Road is improving nicely and rates the chief threat upped in trip.

Form pick Dr Eggman has been turned over at odds-on the last twice and it may pay to take him on with RATTLING ROAD.

(3) Ioupy Collonges 11/5, Bumper winner who was steadily progressive over hurdles last season, winning 2 of his 4 starts. Shaped much better than on his chasing debut when third of 4 at Newbury (19.8f, soft) in March, though found less than looked likely. More required.
Remains lightly raced for top yard and may find a chunk of improvement at some stage.

(6) Travail D'orfevre 7/2, Made a winning return at Carlisle (15.9f, soft) in October and has been proving most consistent since, rallying from 2 out when third back at the same C&D (heavy) 17 days ago. Can give another good account returned to this longer trip.
Second/third off this mark on his last five starts and can give another good account.

(2) Bleu D'enfer 17/2, Finally off the mark in maiden hurdle at Ayr in February, but he's prone to errors over fences and was still in a narrow lead when falling 3 out in novice chase at Down Royal (19.6f, soft) last month. Capable of getting involved if keeping the mistakes to a minimum.
Has the ability to go well but jumping issues have been a feature of light chasing career.

(1) Findthetime 11/1, Fairly useful hurdler and matched that level when opening his chase account at Wetherby in November. Fortunate when scoring at Newcastle (16.3f, heavy) last time, held when left clear 2 out, but he's respected as he makes first run for yard after leaving Nicky Richards.

(5) Clonakilty 3/1, In first-time cheekpieces, resumed his progress over fences when making it 2 wins from his last 3 starts in handicap at Southwell (20.4f, heavy) 20 days ago, always in control once leading before 2 out. Major player with the potential to do better still.
Two wins from last three starts; this is tougher but he's entitled to respect.

14:20 Perth Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Findthetime beat the only other finisher over an extended 2m in this grade at Newcastle in January and he should go well on his first start for the Stuart Coltherd yard. However, preference is for CLONAKILTY, who was worth a lot more than his winning margin at Southwell earlier in the month and a 5lb rise could be lenient. The son of Flemensfirth can record a double, while Bleu D'enfer could put his mishap at Down Royal behind him and go well.

CLONAKILTY quickly got back on track when winning at Southwell last time and, with the return to a right-handed track to suit, he can follow up with further progress to come. He is taken to get the better of Findthetime, who could also still have more to offer as a chaser on his stable debut, while Travail d'Orfevre can give his running once more.

The Paul Nicholls-trained 6yo IOUPY COLLONGES can take a step forward and he earns the vote ahead of Travail D'Orfevre.

14:55 Perth Maiden Hurdle (Class 1) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Sounds Russian is a classy performer on his day, with his runner-up effort in last year's Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham arguably his best performance, so he is an interesting contender on the back of his fifth in the Rendlesham in February. However, he could find it difficult up against LOUGHGLYNN, a Grade 2 winner who hit the frame at the same level at Fairyhouse on his latest outing. The son of Vendangeur makes only his fifth start over hurdles and he looks the one to side with. Farnoge is noted too.

EL ELEFANTE was still in front when taking a final-flight fall at Newbury and provided that tumble hasn't left a mark, is fancied to maintain her unbeaten record at Perth. Loughglynn has to be seriously respected as Willie Mullins attempts to strengthen his grip on the British Trainers' Championship, whilst Great Pepper clearly wasn't 100% at Haydock and is the pick for third on his prior efforts.

Grade 2 novice hurdle winner LOUGHGLYNN has a 5lb penalty to defy but his form reads well and he gets the nod for Willie Mullins.

15:25 Perth Conditions Chase (Class 1) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

With a tendency to jump out to her right, RIVIERE D'ETEL found herself giving too much ground away when sixth in the Mares' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last month. The seven-year-old should prove much more at home on this right-handed track and is the one to beat judged on ratings. The main danger is Instit, who finished ahead of the selection in fifth at Cheltenham, while Malina Girl should prove more competitive back over fences.

MALINA GIRL's performances at Cheltenham during the latter part of 2023 mark her down as the one to beat on these terms and with her latest hurdles run easy to ignore, she's fancied to add to her tally. The return to a right-handed track will suit Riviere D'etel and she is a big threat, with Apple Away and Instit the other dangers.

The selection is APPLE AWAY who has run well in open graded company including in the National Hunt Chase when 3m6f seemed just too far.

15:55 Perth Handicap Chase (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Not for the first time, GUNSIGHT RIDGE's stamina appeared to ebb away when weakening into third over 2m4f at Newbury last time out. This return to 2m could prove just the tonic for Olly Murphy's charge and a third victory over fences could be on the horizon. Figaroc has posted some creditable efforts in defeat in Ireland and the nine-year-old is feared most now dropping in class. C&D scorer Mint Gold completes the shortlist.

FIGAROC failed to meet expectations at Fairyhouse last time but can bounce back with a bang dropped in class. Gunsight Ridge is next best with the return to 2m in his favour.

Although yet to win over fences this looks an ideal opportunity for FIGAROC (nap). Gunsight Ridge is next best.

16:25 Perth Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Only half a length separated Sunday Soldier and SIMILAR STORY when the former defied an 8lb rise to complete a five-timer at Musselburgh earlier in the month (Donso Star third) and Richie McLernon's mount could well make it six from six in handicaps as she continues to improve. However, she has a further 6lb rise to deal with here and the reopposing runner-up enjoys a 3lb swing in the weights, so the Stuart Coltherd-trained mare looks to have a good chance of turning the tables. Roccos Inspiration continues to slide down the ratings and appears the pick of Olly Murphy's duo.

SUNDAY SOLDIER has been one of the most progressive hurdlers of the season and there was little sign that the handicapper had caught up with her at Musselburgh, so she's a confident choice to make it 6 in a row. Donso Star is in good order and can make her presence felt, while Similar Story (runner-up to the selection on latest outing) can't be ruled out.

Despite meeting them on worse terms, SUNDAY SOLDIER is taken to confirm Musselburgh placings with Similar Story and Donso Star.

Two wins, one over C&D, last season; conditions suit; could go well back from an absence.

16:55 Perth Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Heard That has been running well in defeat and should give another good account of himself, but he may have to play second fiddle to BOLLIN MATILDA, who revelled in the mud when scoring over Newcastle's extended 2m7f 11 days ago. Donald Whillans' mare may not have beaten too much that day but she remains unexposed over staying distances and the booking for a 7lb claimer negates her 4lb rise for that success. On that same Newcastle card, Adveram was doing his best work at the finish when third over shorter and the step back up in trip may help.

The vote goes to HEARD THAT, who left the strong impression that he would welcome this stiffer test at Newcastle last time. It also augurs well that he went close in a 3m maiden point on the second of his two starts between the flags and the 5-y-o shades preference ahead of recent winner Bollin Matilda. Adveram and This Is Bob are others with claims.

A chance is taken on TOPKAPI STAR who lacks a run this season but won twice last term and is well suited by these conditions.
