1st (1) (5/6 +39%)Catchintsavo |
5/6(+39%) | (1) Catchintsavo 5/6, Improved again under positive ride 10l third in a novice hurdle at Ascot most recent run; that run sets standard; effective 2m2f-2m5f, suited by decent ground; bumper form strong, progressing over hurdles. Followed narrow Ludlow win with third in useful Ascot novice; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 -33%)Five Bar Gate |
3/1(-33%) | (2) Five Bar Gate 3/1, Ran to form, got racing early setting it up for useful rival when second beaten 1 1/4l in a maiden hurdle at Taunton latest; tongue-tie first time; effective 2m-2m3f, acts on good to soft and heavy; more to come over hurdles, point and bumper winner can find a race soon. Course bumper winner who began hurdling career with two promising Taunton runs; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/2 -43%)Piping Rock |
5/2(-43%) | (4) Piping Rock 5/2, Ran to form 3 1/4l third in a maiden hurdle at Warwick most recent run; effective 2 1/2m, acts on good to soft and heavy; form franked, can find a race over hurdles soon. Ran well when making the frame on first three hurdling starts and has a good chance here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 +24%)Mymilkman |
25/1(+24%) | (3) Mymilkman 25/1, Yard has won 3 of last 5 runnings of race; pulled up in a novice hurdle at Newbury latest where outclassed, yet to show anything; lot to find. Second in two Irish points in early 2024 but has struggled on all three hurdling starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (200/1 -203%)Snowski |
200/1(-203%) | (5) Snowski 200/1, Snow Sky gelding; dam unraced; flat bred; stable not known for debut winners; best watched. Seems unlikely to meet the fairly useful standard required on his debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PIPING ROCK is getting the hang of things over hurdles and appeals the most after three consistent efforts since he debuted under Rules. With the trip and ground suitable, another step forward can see the son of Poet's World get off the mark. Five Bar Gate has a first-time tongue-tie added and, as a previous course winner, he looks a big danger. Catchintsavo is another reliable option to consider.

Catchintsavo might find it tough to concede his penalty to PIPING ROCK, who has performed well on all three hurdling starts.

(1) (4/6 +27%)Rap Soul |
4/6(+27%) | (1) Rap Soul 4/6, Improved up in trip on chase debut landing a handicap by 9 1/2l off a 12lb lower mark here last time; effective 2 1/2m, acts on soft and good to soft; may have bit more to offer over fences. Won comfortably by over 9l over C&D on recent chase/handicap debut; obvious contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 +36%)Lunar Ocean |
7/2(+36%) | (3) Lunar Ocean 7/2, Didn't handle the testing ground comfortably held in a handicap chase at Catterick last time; visor first time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good; consistent but frustrating chaser, battling qualities a worry. 0-15 under all codes but ran well two starts ago and had ground excuse last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (4/1 -78%)Carpe Diem |
4/1(-78%) | (2) Carpe Diem 4/1, Scored by 14l off a 9lb lower mark at Huntingdon penultimate start; ran to form just tiring late having tried to go with leader second beaten 18l off 90 last time, 1lb lower here; effective 2 1/2m; unexposed over fences where may yet get 3m; danger. Returned to form with two good runs (one win) in a visor at Huntingdon last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (14/1 +13%)Goguenard |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Goguenard 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell latest where went too fast; effective 2m3f to about 3m, likes a lot of give; form in and out. Well beaten in all three chases last season and also out of form over hurdles this term. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RAP SOUL won with plenty in hand over C&D last month and looks progressive enough to deal with a 12lb rise. Carpe Diem is an obvious threat based what he has shown since reverting to racing under Rules. He should go well if there is enough give in the ground to bring the best out of him, while Lunar Ocean is another to note.

Topweight RAP SOUL rewarded good market support when winning over C&D on his recent chase/handicap debut and may improve again.

(5) (15/8 +17%)Lord Of The Glance |
15/8(+17%) | (5) Lord Of The Glance 15/8, Improved down in grade on handicap debut benefitting from pace collapse beaten 1 1/4l off a 1lb lower mark at Fakenham last time; off a short-break; effective 2m; needs to build on latest. Improved form when second on handicap debut in January, albeit not looking straightforward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/2 +17%)Golden Circet |
5/2(+17%) | (4) Golden Circet 5/2, Never threatened beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Kempton last time; effective up to 2m2f; fair mark on flat form; improving with experience, do better in handicaps under slightly more positive handling. Fairly useful on the Flat at his best and could be on dangerous opening mark over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (11/4 -22%)Kotari |
11/4(-22%) | (3) Kotari 11/4, Never threatened beaten 4l off a 27lb lower mark at Nottingham last time; useful flat handicapper over middle distances; unexposed in this sphere; mark lenient; returning from a break; contender. Below best Flat form last summer/autumn and current hurdling ability is tricky to gauge. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 +11%)Desert Halo |
8/1(+11%) | (2) Desert Halo 8/1, Raced lazily, taken on up front and set it up for closer 31l third in a handicap chase at Lingfield most recent run; effective 2-2 1/2m, acts with cut; inconsistent, jumping an issue of late over fences; must bounce back on hurdles return. Chasing has not gone to plan this season; needs to turn a corner on return to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 +25%)Pink 'n Purple |
9/1(+25%) | (6) Pink 'n Purple 9/1, Green, mistakes, continued in poor form when comfortably held in a 4yo hurdle at Doncaster last time; may need more time. Soundly beaten in three junior hurdles this winter but may improve in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (14/1 +0%)Simon The Seagull |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Simon The Seagull 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield latest; visor first time; off a short-break; effective 2m-2m4f, acts with cut; unreliable maiden. Ran well for a long way on seasonal debut but pulled up since and now 0-10 over hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This is a good opportunity for LORD OF THE GLANCE to gain a first career success. Having posted his best effort yet when a close second at Fakenham, the Alex Hales-trained seven-year-old won't need to find much to go one better. As Simon The Seagull and Pink 'n Purple are both out of the handicap and Kotari hasn't been seen over hurdles for 452 days, Desert Halo looks the biggest danger.

The most interesting runner is GOLDEN CIRCET, who could be on an attractive opening hurdle mark if judged on his Flat form.

(3) (15/8 +58%)Confinentic |
15/8(+58%) | (3) Confinentic 15/8, Not best placed but ran to form seeing out the longer trip comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time; effective 2m-2m4f, acts on soft, good to soft; almost certainly capable of better and unbeaten at this venue. 2-6 over hurdles; never dangerous when fifth at Ascot last time but this race is easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/4 +0%)Ferret Jeeter |
9/4(+0%) | (5) Ferret Jeeter 9/4, Landed a handicap by 4 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark here last time; effective 2 3/4-3m, thorough stayer, get even further, acts on any; steadily progressive, should remain competitive. Made all for clearcut C&D success four weeks ago and is now 3-8 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/2 -17%)Inferno Sacree |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Inferno Sacree 7/2, Landed a handicap by 3 1/2l off a 5lb lower mark at Taunton last time; enjoys making it; effective 2-3m, best at 2m, acts on soft and good; back in form, mark still workable, dangerous if allowed to dictate. Consistent front-runner; recently ended a losing streak; still unexposed as a stayer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (13/2 -44%)All Authorized |
13/2(-44%) | (6) All Authorized 13/2, Travelled well for a long way but tired up the hill in strongly run race in testing conditions 33l third in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell most recent run; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on any but suited by good; inconsistent, unexposed as a stayer. Ran well until tiring on heavy going last month; C&D win off 6lb higher on good last April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (15/2 +25%)Disco Davis |
15/2(+25%) | (1) Disco Davis 15/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Kelso latest; off a short-break; effective 2-2 1/2m, may get even further, acts on any; bit to prove after couple of below par efforts. Pulled up twice towards end of 2025 and needs three-month break to have done him good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (20/1 -25%)Fontana Ellissi |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Fontana Ellissi 20/1, Never in the race when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Lingfield latest; blinkers first time; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2-3m; has had issues, not in the same form since lay off but handicapper has relented. Lightly raced in recent years and needs addition of blinkers to aid a revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

INFERNO SACREE built on a string of consistent displays when tackling 3m for the first time and getting his head back in front at Taunton. The eight-year-old may well have more to offer over staying distances and can strike again off a 5lb higher mark. Ferret Jeeter won over C&D last time and commands plenty of respect, while Confinentic appears best of the remainder.

Well handicapped on last April's good-ground C&D win, ALL AUTHORIZED ran better than the bare form suggests on heavy ground last month.

(4) (2/1 +43%)Minella Kaiser |
2/1(+43%) | (4) Minella Kaiser 2/1, Never travelled, didn't handle the soft ground comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time; in good form prior; cheekpieces first time; probably stays 3m and acts on good; form is not that reliable but progressing until latest and yard does well here. Low-mileage 7yo; well held over hurdles last time but second in C&D chase two starts ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/4 -83%)Scottish King |
11/4(-83%) | (1) Scottish King 11/4, Improved under aggressive ride landing a handicap by 11l off a 4lb lower mark at Market Rasen last time; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by sound surface; in form, may have more to offer now he's shed his maiden tag. Dominated at Market Rasen last month and should also be suited by this left-handed track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (3/1 +25%)Gata Ban |
3/1(+25%) | (2) Gata Ban 3/1, Never competitive after series of errors comfortably held in a handicap chase at Fakenham last time; had wind op; off a short-break; effective around 2m4f, acts on good to soft, good; needs more. Promising second on seasonal/chase debut but subsequent form has been disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/2 +45%)Hilltown |
11/2(+45%) | (5) Hilltown 11/2, Below form comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time; off a short-break; effective 3m, acts on soft, good; needs to prove ability remains after lay off. C&D winner in 2024 and took step back in the right direction over hurdles on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/1 -27%)Felton Bellevue |
7/1(-27%) | (3) Felton Bellevue 7/1, Scored by 3l off a 3lb lower mark here penultimate start; below form third beaten 30l off 89 last time, same mark here; effective 3m, acts with cut; inconsistent this term. Unreliable nowadays but won over C&D two starts ago and is still on a good mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SCOTTISH KING only went up 4lb for a comfortable success at Market Rasen on his latest outing and a similar kind of performance would make him very hard to beat, especially with all of his rivals having something to prove. Felton Bellevue could prove the main threat if repeating his C&D victory two starts ago, while first-time cheekpieces might aid the cause of Minella Kaiser.

Topweight SCOTTISH KING beat only one other finisher at Market Rasen last month but that was a dominant front-running performance.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/2 +50%)Galactic Charm |
5/2(+50%) | (3) Galactic Charm 5/2, Yard won this last year; mistakes, below form on testing ground when fourth beaten 31l in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell latest; effective 2m, acts on soft and good; fair mark on best novice form but struggling of late. Lurks on a dangerous mark but has largely been disappointing this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (7/2 +42%)Oakley's Way |
7/2(+42%) | (7) Oakley's Way 7/2, Below form up in class comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Kempton last time; in good form prior; off a short-break; effective 2-2 1/2m, may get further; needs this drop in class. Found 0-130 company too hot last time but looked progressive beforehand; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/1 -233%)Lasko Des Obeaux |
5/1(-233%) | (1) Lasko Des Obeaux 5/1, Improved on final qualifying run 3 1/2l third in a novice hurdle at Carlisle most recent run; effective 2m, acts with soft; more to come for top yard, can find a race soon; may want this bit further. Placed on all three hurdling starts and ought to be suited by this step up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (25/1 -257%)Baltray |
25/1(-257%) | (4) Baltray 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Kempton latest; returning from a break; effective at around 2 1/2m; inconsistent, not strongest finisher. Absent since a poor run in November but has the form to feature if fully tuned up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 -50%)Moon Hunter |
33/1(-50%) | (5) Moon Hunter 33/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Fakenham latest where never travelled or jumped on soft ground; blinkers first time; off a short-break; effective 2 1/2-3m, acts on good to soft, good; inconsistent, has had issues but handicapper relenting. Has lost his way over fences; back hurdling with new headgear tried here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

With plenty of these having questions to answer at the moment, it is hard to oppose LASKO DES OBEAUX. Harry Derham's gelding has made the frame in all three novice/maiden starts and an opening mark of 112 should be workable. Baltray must not be discounted, despite disappointing last time, while Valadon and Galactic Charm are the pick of the remainder.

Another chance is given to OAKLEY'S WAY (nap), who will find this easier than his latest assignment and can resume earlier progress.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 +0%)Mint Approved |
4/1(+0%) | (1) Mint Approved 4/1, Ran to form when second beaten 2 1/2l in a novice point at Tinahely latest; returning from long layoff; progressive in points, yard does well here and in this discipline. Down the field in Cork bumper last summer but has won an Irish point since; stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 +10%)Blue's Secret Gem |
9/2(+10%) | (4) Blue's Secret Gem 9/2, Blue Bresil mare; half-sister to Matts My Boy, poor at 16f; trainer in form and can get them ready first time; interesting. Out of a well-connected mare; stable has a good strike-rate in bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/2 -100%)Delgany Second Now |
9/2(-100%) | (6) Delgany Second Now 9/2, Jack Hobbs gelding; half-brother to Any Second Now, high-class at 34f; top trainer; may ideally want further in time but a threat. Half-brother to high-class jumper Any Second Now; with top stable; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 +25%)Chocks Away |
12/1(+25%) | (5) Chocks Away 12/1, Modest debut well beaten in a maiden bumper at Kempton only start; plenty more needed. Seemed to be running well until hanging left and losing position on home turn at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (14/1 -40%)Silk Mountain |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Silk Mountain 14/1, Ran well to a point on debut 6l fourth in a bumper at Lingfield first-time out; off a short-break; effective 2m; should improve a little for initial experience. Shaped quite well before fading into fourth of six at Lingfield (AW) in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (18/1 0%)She's A Driver |
18/1(0%) | (7) She's A Driver 18/1, Planteur filly; half-sister to Na Caith Tobac, useful at 16f; dam useful at 7f at 2yo; looks an unlikely winner on debut. Out of a German/Dutch Flat winner; stable not known for bumper success. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

OTIE'S FRIEND failed to build on a very promising debut second when seventh at Kempton a couple of weeks ago. However, that wasn't a poor performance given the strength of the contest and the five-year-old tops the shortlist here. Any market support for newcomer Delgany Second Now would have to be noted, while Blue's Secret Gem and Silk Mountain are others to note.

Huntingdon second OTIE'S FRIEND will find this less competitive than the Kempton race he contested last month and might be the answer.
Ths is the racecard key.
