12/1(-50%) | (2) Idaho Fire 12/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow latest; off a short-break; effective 2m5f on a sound surface; bounce back needed. Pulled up on January's hurdle debut, but it's still early days for respected connections.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ESCORT'KHEOPS filled second place in a similar event to this at Southwell a month ago and the six-year-old sets the standard based on that performance. Viscountess Nelson was a winner between the flags and she was not disgraced when fourth in a Huntingdon bumper on her Rules debut in December. With that in mind, she could prove to be the main threat, ahead of Our Amigo and Lola De Magny.

Escort'kheops is respected but preference is for VISCOUNTESS NELSON now up in trip on her hurdle debut.

5th (3) (7/2 +0%)Alto Alto |
7/2(+0%) | (3) Alto Alto 7/2, Taken on up front and made too much use of when fourth beaten 27l in a handicap chase here latest; effective at around 2m, acts on soft and good; inconsistent, saves best for this course. All 5 wins on this track; back to form last month but soundly beaten here since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KOOL KID returned to winning ways in a handicap hurdle at this venue three weeks ago and a 5lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop him from following up, despite the switch to fences. Park Annonciade was a close third at Ludlow when last seen and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Delpotro completes the shortlist.

Kool Kid can be dangerous on his chase debut but PARK ANNONCIADE looked on the way back at Ludlow and is quite well treated now.

Beaten neck over C&D (25-1) penultimate start; failed to back it up since; cheekpieces on.. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -82%)Major Major |
40/1(-82%) | (3) Major Major 40/1, Never in it from off the pace comfortably held in a maiden hurdle here last time; may do better now handicapping. Beaten 24l, 50l, & 49l respectively in three attempts over hurdles; easy to look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (11/1 +31%)My Lovely Horse |
11/1(+31%) | (5) My Lovely Horse 11/1, Improved when 36l third in a maiden hurdle here most recent run; cheekpieces first time; effective at 2m on soft; might improve now handicapping. Remote third in C&D maiden (soft; 100-1) three weeks ago; cheekpieces on; handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RISK IT ALL has filled second place on two of his last three starts and this appears to be an ideal opportunity for the five-year-old to go one better. That said, Kill The Groove was a neck second over C&D two starts ago and she may benefit from the first-time application of cheekpieces. Kingston Bresil edges out My Lovely Horse to be best of the rest.

A weak race. Risk It All arguably has the best form but he's not straightforward. The tentative suggestion is CHARLES MORIN.

10/3(-11%) | (3) La Marquise 10/3, Needed run after wind op but returned to form 6l third in a handicap hurdle at Wetherby most recent run; trainer in form; effective 2m-2m4f, acts with cut; needs to build on recent revival. 11/4(+50%) | (4) A Tickatickatiming 11/4, Far too free, didn't stay when fourth beaten 54l in a handicap hurdle here latest; effective 2m-2m4f on soft and good; can go well. Far too free here latest, but can fare better now back in trip and on quicker ground.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/1 -211%)Al Sayah |
7/1(-211%) | (1) Al Sayah 7/1, Below form when fourth beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot latest; returning from a break; effective 2m4f-2m6f on a sound surface; chance if ready back from a break. All wins over further but there can be hope she'll be effective at this trip; in the mix.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although Al Sayah ended last year's campaign with a respectable fourth at Newton Abbot, the drop back in distance on her return to action may prove on the sharp side. With that in mind, this could be battled out between Ludlow fourth Dramatic Encore and LA MARQUISE, with preference for the latter. Jamie Snowden's mare arrives on the back of a fair third at Wetherby and has been dropped 1lb.

Dramatic Encore is feared but preference is for LA MARQUISE (nap) who still retains considerable potential over hurdles.

10/1(-82%) | (6) Imperial Pride 10/1, Returned to form down in grade in first-time cheekpieces, albeit race fell apart at Huntingdon last time; effective 2m4f-3m, acts on soft and good; not one to rely on backing up latest. Back to form when winning at Huntingdon last time and she's respected off 5lb higher.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/1 -43%)West Orchard |
5/1(-43%) | (2) West Orchard 5/1, Jumped abysmally and looked awkward but ran to form beaten a short-head off a 2lb lower mark at Wincanton last time; effective 2m3f-3m1f, acts on good to soft and good; needs to jump better. Four-time chase winner who came back to form at Wincanton last month; respected.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/2 +21%)Illogical Logic |
11/2(+21%) | (4) Illogical Logic 11/2, Ran to form on ground softer than ideal 6l third in a handicap chase at Ffos Las most recent run; effective 3m any ground; recent form has been franked, mark fair. Back to form on his last three runs and holds place claims again off an unchanged mark.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (22/1 -267%)Ballygelly |
22/1(-267%) | (7) Ballygelly 22/1, Unseated when in front at the last in a handicap chase at Fakenham latest; returning from a break; best at 3m on a sound surface; unlucky latest, chance if ready back from break. Lacks consistency but may have doubled her score but for unseating at the last in October.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (10/1 -54%)Inedit De Mee |
10/1(-54%) | (3) Inedit De Mee 10/1, Made too much use of when down the field in a handicap chase at Fontwell most recent; cheekpieces first time; off a short-break; effective 2m4f-3m, suited by cut; in good form over fences until latest. 11-race maiden but on a workable mark, particularly if tongue-tie/cheekpieces are a plus.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (11/1 +56%)School For Scandal |
11/1(+56%) | (5) School For Scandal 11/1, Taken on up front and made too much use of on ground more testing than ideal comfortably held in a handicap chase at Taunton last time; effective 2m7f-3m2f, acts on sound surface; inconsistent, drier ground preferable. Needs the return to better ground to spark a revival after some lesser efforts of late.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FERRET JEETER did little wrong when finishing second to a resurgent rival over timber here recently and he could take all of the beating if taking to fences. David Dennis has his stable in fine form at present and Huntingdon scorer Imperial Pride isn't taken lightly, while an improved performance from School For Scandal wouldn't be a surprise on his return to a sounder surface.

West Orchard heads the list of dangers but the suggestion is FERRET JEETER who may improve for this switch to fences.

2nd (7) (16/1 +0%)Ephyra |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Ephyra 16/1, Ran to form just tiring late on handicap debut beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle here last time; should stay 2m over hurdles; improvement needed now handicapping. Better on handicap debut here (2m; sixth) seven weeks ago; stamina questionable over 2m4f.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (5/2 -25%)Taritino |
5/2(-25%) | (3) Taritino 5/2, Improved back on better ground when landing a handicap by 3l off this mark at Taunton last time; effective 2m-2m3f, suited by sound surface; escaped a penalty, good chance. Resumed winning ways at Taunton (2m3f; 5-1) last week; on premises if in the same form. |

66/1(-65%) | (2) Bread And Butter 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon latest; off a short-break; effective around 2m3f-2m5f, acts on soft and good; unreliable but has dropped to workable mark. Veteran; without win since December 2024; tough to draw inspiration from last two efforts.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (11/8 +75%)Ghasham |
11/8(+75%) | (1) Ghasham 11/8, Made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last time; in good form prior; off a short-break; effective over 2m-2m4f, acts on soft and good; consistent. Close on first start for trainer at Worcester (2m4f) last September; less effective since.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (3/1 -20%)Eliza Dolittle |
3/1(-20%) | (4) Eliza Dolittle 3/1, Scored cosily, improved under positive handling at favoured venue landing a handicap by 9 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark here last time; effective around 2m4f, best on sound surface, goes well Plumpton; form in and out. Made all to notch third C&D win (soft; from 7lb lower) three weeks ago; one of likeliest.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having regained the winning thread at Taunton recently with something in hand, it's difficult to look beyond the unpenalised TARITINO. The six-year-old should take all of the beating if over those exertions, with this step up in distance unlikely to inconvenience him. Eliza Dolittle is no back number after last month's C&D victory and she can put up most resistance to the selection, ahead of Ghasham.

Eliza Dolittle and TARITINO are last-time winners. Slight preference is for the Taunton regular who hit the line strongly last week.

12/1(+45%) | (2) Soldier Poet 12/1, Below debut level when comfortably held in a bumper at Warwick last time; off a short-break; effective at 2m-2m2f on soft and good to soft; needs more. Made a promising debut over C&D in December but not so good latest; could bounce back.. |

17/2(-183%) | (4) Luna Marquesa 17/2, 85,000 euros Kapgarde mare; half-sister to Jubilant, useful at 26f; likely go well on debut for a yard that is respected at this level. Likeable pedigree and worth considering on debut; respected stable.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having posted two solid runner-up efforts under Rules, Double The Dance is likely to give another good account. The five-year-old isn't easily dismissed, but SECRET DES LUNE edges the vote in receipt of 7lb. Ben Clarke's mare boasts a similar profile and her experience from a previous second at this venue could prove decisive. Newcomers Getmyfriend and Luna Marquesa command a betting check.

The mare SECRET DES LUNE is narrowly preferred to Double The Dance in receipt of her sex allowance.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
