1st (4) (4/5 -10%)Zappata |
4/5(-10%) | (4) Zappata 4/5, Suited by fast ground when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 46 at Wetherby last time; well treated if turned out quickly; can follow up Won at Wetherby on Sunday and should be tough to beat under a 6lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

6/1(+50%) | (8) Mission In Malton 6/1, Beaten 6l in a handicap here last time; cheekpieces first time; top course trainer; inconsistent in short career; bit more needed Midfield in both handicaps; perhaps first-time cheekpieces will eke out something extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (14/1 -65%)Martha Costello |
14/1(-65%) | (6) Martha Costello 14/1, Met trouble when down the field in a handicap over 6f here most recent; worth ignoring that effort; usually consistent; good mark on AW form; interesting Encouraging fourth on handicap debut (6f, AW) but well beaten here only ten days ago (6f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (14/1 -27%)Harry Palmer |
14/1(-27%) | (5) Harry Palmer 14/1, Appeared not to stay well beaten in a handicap at Newcastle latest; ran well on reappearance prior; had wind op; stamina to prove Unable to threaten in first two handicaps; wind op since and may be capable of better. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (8/1 +11%)Wondrous Ways |
8/1(+11%) | (1) Wondrous Ways 8/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap here last time; just 1lb above last winning mark; not proven trip; big stamina concerns once more Didn't run badly when fifth over C&D on first crack at 1m and has each-way possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -300%)Bigfield Dreams |
40/1(-300%) | (3) Bigfield Dreams 40/1, Down the field in a maiden at Lingfield most recent; cheekpieces first time; not proven trip; unproven on fast ground; yet to prove up to even this lowly opening mark; best watched Newmarket challenger who goes handicapping off a lowly mark in first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (50/1 -150%)Storm Kitty |
50/1(-150%) | (7) Storm Kitty 50/1, Well beaten in a novice over 7f at Newcastle latest; generally out of form; not proven trip; unproven on fast ground; hard to fancy Has shown little on her three starts but she's a possible improver on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ZAPPATA struck by over a length on his second start in a handicap at Wetherby on Sunday and only has a 6lb penalty to shoulder. With Liam Wright negating 5lb of that with his claim, he could prove tough to beat. Harry Palmer produced a fair effort when third at Newcastle prior to disappointing in first-time cheekpieces at the same venue last time, but has since undergone a wind operation and may bounce back. I Can Boogy completes the shortlist.

This looks a good opportunity for ZAPPATA to defy a penalty for Sunday's win at Wetherby. Storm Kitty is feared.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (150/1 -127%)Havachoc |
150/1(-127%) | (6) Havachoc 150/1, Below par down the field in a maiden at Thirsk most recent; needs to improve and likely one for low grade handicaps after this Displayed ability on debut but others have shown more, and he's been tailed off since. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Camino Del Ray made his way through the field to score on his debut at Newcastle and will have lots more to offer, but he may find it tough to beat DOUBLE PARKED. Tim Easterby's three-year-old took a step forward to fill the runner-up spot at Newcastle on his latest outing and might only need to find minimal improvement in order to get off the mark. Evangelic is another to note on his return to action.

Charlie Hills has an excellent record at Redcar in recent seasons and EVANGELIC is taken to make a winning return.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sychell improved on her debut effort to make the frame at Southwell on her latest outing and it would be no surprise to see her feature with further progression. However, LOTHLORIEN beat a well-fancied favourite to score by a short head on her debut in August last year. Provided Kevin Ryan's filly builds on that success on her return to the fray, she could prove hard to beat. Fluorescence isn't ruled out either.

This probably most concerns the penalised winners LOTHLORIEN, Fluorescence and Angelic Bugler, plus recent third Sychell.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A highly-promising second on her return to turf over 6f here recently, LADY OF THE GARR had done well over the winter on the all-weather and this appeals as a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways. Not beaten far at Catterick last time out, Latin Five can follow her home, along with Match Play, who is 10lb lower than his last success.

The filly DORALEE is returning from an absence but this very lightly raced 4yo could be on a handy mark. Latin Five is second choice

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Placed on each of his last five outings, including at Nottingham the last time, SERGEANT MAYER deserves a change in luck and he may be able to get that in what looks like a winnable contest. A creditable fourth at Catterick most recently, Let's Go Hugo is entitled to be thereabouts, while Golden Rainbow is another who could make the frame.

Sergeant Mayer looks nailed on for a prominent finish but a chance is taken instead on a return to form from DUNNINGTON LAD.

2nd (2) (5/2 -11%)Creatif |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Creatif 5/2, Ideally suited by trip when landing a handicap by 4l off 80 at Newcastle last time; second run after wind op; more to come judged on French form; can follow up Very lightly raced; won at Newcastle recently; he's just the type his trainer excels with. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (28/1 -75%)Whiskey Pete |
28/1(-75%) | (6) Whiskey Pete 28/1, Did not get a clear run down the field in a handicap at Doncaster most recent; in good form prior; unproven on fast ground; highly tried last term; in the mix down in grade Well treated on form as recent as last autumn but he's struggled this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Having recorded a hat-trick at the end of his 2024 campaign, See That Storm must warrant consideration on his return to action. However, a 3lb higher mark and a lack of a recent run could leave Edward Bethell's gelding vulnerable and LORD PROTECTOR is more compelling. The seven-year-old has filled the frame on both outings this season and compensation may be on the horizon. Last-time-out winner Creatif completes the shortlist.

David O'Meara does well with his French recruits and the very lightly raced CREATIF (nap) can follow up his easy win at Newcastle.

4/1(+33%) | (5) Gennadius 4/1, Raced freely second beaten a short-head in a novice over 6f at Brighton latest; up in trip; consistent; acts on fast ground; chance off lenient opening mark Has shown ability; pedigree suggests handicap debut trip will suit but he might pull hard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A step up in distance worked the oracle for KIMEKO GLORY when routing her rivals over this trip at Beverley seven days ago. Mark Walford's filly is likely to take all the beating under a 6lb penalty and a quickfire double could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge from handicap-debutant Gennadius, who arrives on the back of a good second in novice company. Divine Legacy is worth a second look too.

Beverley winner Kimeko Glory is well treated under a 6lb penalty but handicap newcomer RAULIN could also be ahead of his mark.
Ths is the racecard key.
