7/1(+36%) | (6) Soca Star 7/1, 5 Feb; £40,000 Starman filly; half-sister to Jorge Alvares, very useful at 6f; worth watching in the market Stable does have 2yo winners first time out, but a few of the others make greater appeal. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (25/1 +24%)Youfillupmysenses |
25/1(+24%) | (7) Youfillupmysenses 25/1, Nice easy mover, but disappointing on the whole debut and beaten 10l in a maiden at Ayr second start; top course jockey/trainer combination; not a lost cause yet Has weakened quickly in both starts; best watched for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The vote goes ALASKAN LIGHT, representing Karl Burke, who has been firing in the two-year-old winners so far this season. The Kodiac filly was picked up for 48,000gns at the Tatts October Book 2 sales in October and she's certainly bred to have plenty of ability, being a full-sister to the Listed-placed Alaskan Gold. Richard Hannon boasts a 40 per cent strike-rate with his juvenile runners here over the last five years, so Raakeb is worthy of consideration. Ginger Hunter and Koffee And Kale are others to note.

The vote goes to ALASKAN LIGHT whose stable has carried all before it with 2yo newcomers so far this year.

1st (1) (10/11 -14%)Zappata |
10/11(-14%) | (1) Zappata 10/11, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by 2l off 60 at Bath last time easing down and landing a hat-trick; up 6lb, but this is a weak contest and another opportunity Has completely taken off since switching to 1m handicaps (2111); another big run expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +33%)Flamborough Head |
4/1(+33%) | (2) Flamborough Head 4/1, In really good form and has seemed suited by a mile last twice, latter when fourth beaten 4l off 60; cheekpieces first time and threat to favourite Off the mark at Redcar last month, but only fourth there next time; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/3 +17%)Hill O Rue |
10/3(+17%) | (5) Hill O Rue 10/3, Well backed, but slowly away and raced freely when beaten a length off 56 at Redcar last time; that is enough to warrant consideration and is open to improvement Beaten a length by Flamborough Head at Redcar last month; 4lb better off; may reverse form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (16/1 +20%)Sweet Cicely |
16/1(+20%) | (8) Sweet Cicely 16/1, Slowly away and late gains from well back when fourth beaten 4l in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton latest; probably a bit better than that and has a minor chance 0-11; more needed back on turf for the first time since her debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (33/1 +18%)Eye On The Prize |
33/1(+18%) | (9) Eye On The Prize 33/1, Has shown very little to date and down the field in a nursery at Leicester most recent start in October; top course trainer, but seasonal debut and needs to improve markedly to figure Well held in four starts last autumn; much more needed back from seven months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (25/1 -25%)Nippasso |
25/1(-25%) | (3) Nippasso 25/1, Minor promise on debut at 2yo, but well beaten two starts after; this will be the first time has encountered a sound surface; up in trip, off a break and plenty more needed Makes handicap debut after seven months off; market should indicate what is expected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (16/1 +52%)Oselton |
16/1(+52%) | (6) Oselton 16/1, Below par beaten 9 1/2l in a nursery over 6f at Newcastle on handicap debut and down the field novice and maiden form could be flattering on ratings; up in trip and plenty to prove Makes stable debut after six months off having been gelded; much more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (80/1 -60%)Treble Winners |
80/1(-60%) | (4) Treble Winners 80/1, Promise second start in a maiden at 2yo, but poor since and very well beaten in handicaps last two starts; can only be watched until showing retains ability/enthusiasm Some ability in his first two starts last summer, but hasn't built on it; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (40/1 -60%)Mavetheforcebewivu |
40/1(-60%) | (7) Mavetheforcebewivu 40/1, Probably needed race beaten 8l in a handicap at Wetherby last time and probably better judged on 3l defeat in a nursery off 53 at Beverley in August; bit to prove now though 8l behind Zappata on her reappearance and 20lb better off; should finish closer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ZAPPATA showed no signs of his winning run coming to an end at Bath on Monday and, despite having to shoulder a massive penalty, he is very much the one to beat. Hill O Rue made an encouraging seasonal/handicap debut when runner-up to Flamborough Head at Redcar and should go well off the same mark. The reopposing winner has strung three solid performances together and may improve for the addition of cheekpieces, while Sweet Cicely is a place player too.

It's hard to see past ZAPPATA in his bid for the four-timer despite 18lb worth of penalties. Hill O Rue is second choice.

15/8(+25%) | (1) Reigning Profit 15/8, Well backed, plenty to do and won going away when landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off 71 at Pontefract last time; can defy 5lb rise in the weights 2lb higher than under the penalty from tomorrow; every chance of making it 2-2 round here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (18/1 -140%)Birkenhead |
18/1(-140%) | (5) Birkenhead 18/1, Back to form and a bit in hand when landing a handicap by a length off 64 at Catterick last time; up 4lb here, but remains a threat Took his Catterick record to 4-8 when making all 16 days ago; needs more upped 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/1 +29%)High Opinion |
5/1(+29%) | (2) High Opinion 5/1, Probably needed race beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap at Beverley last time; in very good form at the end of 2024 and probably best judged on that with a race under his belt Boasts a solid record over C&D but may need some help from the handicapper now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (16/1 +20%)Betweenthesticks |
16/1(+20%) | (7) Betweenthesticks 16/1, Game when scored by a neck off 64 at Nottingham penultimate start; disappointed last time for no obvious reason; perhaps not on most lenient mark given win was an apprentice race Stall 2 not ideal for one happiest on the sharp end; Reigning Profit his yard's best shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (15/2 +6%)Profiteer |
15/2(+6%) | (6) Profiteer 15/2, Yard won this last year; probably needed race beaten 9l in a handicap over 6f at Thirsk last time; consistent at the end of last term over 5f and should return to form and go quite well this time Well held off a career-high mark on his 6f comeback recently; easy 5f is a bare minimum. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/4 +21%)The Coffee Pod |
11/4(+21%) | (4) The Coffee Pod 11/4, Probably needed race beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Epsom last time despite being sent of favourite (did miss the break as well); extremely consistent last season and should bounce back and contend Things didn't pan out his way at Epsom; 2lb below his last winning mark; easy 5f is ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (13/2 -18%)Abate |
13/2(-18%) | (3) Abate 13/2, Sent of favourite after good run at Doncaster on repappearance, but below par beaten 4l off 75 over 6f at Thirsk last time; return to 5f a positive and in the mix if at best Well held latest and such an easy 5f wouldn't appeal as optimal; into the veteran stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (50/1 -100%)Lettuce Leaf |
50/1(-100%) | (8) Lettuce Leaf 50/1, Below form both starts at the end of 2024 after a mid-season break; not at all badly handicapped at best, but retained ability to prove on seasonal debut Finished last season on a downswing and isn't obviously fancied from the outside stall. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

REIGNING PROFIT produced a fine performance when eased down to win a class 4 event at Pontefract and a 5lb penalty might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. The Coffee Pod went off favourite for a 0-90 handicap on his seasonal reappearance at Epsom and certainly wasn't disgraced finishing fifth. He warrants plenty of respect dropped in class with that run under his belt, while Abate and High Opinion are others to keep an eye on.

Having shaped better than his final position on his Epsom return, THE COFFEE POD is preferred to Reigning Profit.

2/1(+11%) | (7) Mister Sox 2/1, Bit in hand landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off 72 at Pontefract last time; top course trainer; progressing and looks the one to beat 2-2 since returning last month; 2lb well in under his penalty, but fast ground a question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 +30%)Fortamour |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Fortamour 7/2, Ran about to form on reappearance when beaten 1 1/4l off 81 here last time; may come on a little for that outing and be in the mix 6-21 over C&D and his record in this race reads 124; another big run is likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (16/1 -33%)True Promise |
16/1(-33%) | (5) True Promise 16/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off 78 over 5f at Southwell last time having disappointed switched to turf at Beverley penultimate start; this third run after a win op and probably needs to get back to best to contend All four wins have come on the AW and has shown little in four goes on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 +14%)Wreck It Ryley |
6/1(+14%) | (6) Wreck It Ryley 6/1, Well backed when scored by 2l off 71 at Thirsk penultimate start and got no run when disappointed last time; has gone up 6lb for the Thirsk win and mark looks a little stiff C&D winner who met trouble when behind Mister Sox at Pontefract last time; could figure. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (12/1 +0%)Showtime Mahomes |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Showtime Mahomes 12/1, Very consistent on the AW and about to form beaten 2l off 69 at Newcastle last time (January); returning from a short-break; turf form similar and chance if refreshed and ready Back off last winning mark, but others are that bit more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (4/1 +33%)The Good Biscuit |
4/1(+33%) | (4) The Good Biscuit 4/1, Did not get a clear run and likely needed the race to boot when beaten 3l off 79 here last time; narrow second off 79 over C&D back in June, that would give serious chance Made an eyecatching stable debut when fourth over C&D last month; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (14/1 -56%)Rebel Empire |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Rebel Empire 14/1, Ran to form beaten 2 1/4l off 82 over 5f at Ascot last time; up in trip, which may suit, and can contend Lightly raced on turf; 6f suits him best but this looks a stiff task under top weight. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (66/1 -313%)Beyond Borders |
66/1(-313%) | (3) Beyond Borders 66/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap here on seasonal debut; better judged on unlucky (impeded) 1 1/2l 5th off 81 final start of 2024; trainer in form; could go well now stripping fitter Well behind a couple of these on his stable debut/reappearance over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (33/1 -106%)Late Arrival |
33/1(-106%) | (8) Late Arrival 33/1, Well backed when winning off 69 at Southwell three starts back in August and probably needed race beaten 6l in a handicap at Thirsk last time; mark is only fair and a bit to prove now Remains 5lb above his last winning mark so he will need to pull out more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (12/1 +14%)Mark's Choice |
12/1(+14%) | (10) Mark's Choice 12/1, Had a year off from December 2023 and while below level of previous form was beaten only 2 1/2l off 62 over 7f at Southwell last time; that was in December and absence since a worry Seven course wins, but losing run up to 16 and has been off for five months. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

REBEL EMPIRE failed to make an impression over the minimum trip at Ascot last week. This return to 6f will prove more to his liking and Richard Hannon's inmate has strong claims on his third at Newcastle in March. Fortamour won this in 2022 and last month's third back at this venue points to another big run from the veteran sprinter. Mister Sox bids for a hat-trick with solid claims, having scored nicely at Pontefract.

The vote goes to THE GOOD BISCUIT who caught the eye on stable debut over C&D last month. Drying ground would be ideal.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/4 +50%)Bay Dream Believer |
11/4(+50%) | (8) Bay Dream Believer 11/4, Well backed and back to form beaten 1 1/2l off 60 at Beverley last time; generally in good form, trip holds no concerns and can go well Back off the same mark as when winning over C&D last August; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/3 +72%)Eeetee |
10/3(+72%) | (3) Eeetee 10/3, Probably needed race beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Pontefract last time, but out of form at the end of 2024; well handicapped on best form of last season, but needs to show retains it Losing run up to 17 (12 for this yard) despite a falling mark; others more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (20/1 0%)Poet's Dawn |
20/1(0%) | (2) Poet's Dawn 20/1, Beaten 2l off 70 at Redcar in October, but well below that all starts since including here last time; top course trainer, but hard to fancy C&D winner who is 1lb below last winning mark; needs to improve on recent efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -50%)Rainwater |
12/1(-50%) | (7) Rainwater 12/1, Out of form of late on turf after knocking on the door repeatedly off marks around 66 on the AW; needs to bounce back to contend 1-19; last two efforts back on turf leave plenty to be desired. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (28/1 -40%)Stipulation |
28/1(-40%) | (6) Stipulation 28/1, Appeared not to stay comfortably held in a handicap at Lingfield last time over 10f; fairly consistent running to around mark prior to that; cheekpieces first time; just that stamina concern 0-5; has enough to prove under the conditions after four months off; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (50/1 -100%)Wait And Hope |
50/1(-100%) | (9) Wait And Hope 50/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in a handicap over 8f at Beverley most recent start not having run to that level in last seven starts dating back to June; hard to fancy 0-13 since his successful handicap debut and has shown little lately. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (18/1 -200%)Steps In Time |
18/1(-200%) | (4) Steps In Time 18/1, Weak in the market second beaten 7 1/2l in a maiden over 8f at Newcastle latest roughly reflecting level of all three starts to date; returning from a break on handicap debut, but contender Placed in all three starts on the AW late last year; market support would be interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (7/2 -40%)Dubawi Time |
7/2(-40%) | (5) Dubawi Time 7/2, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 62 at Yarmouth latest start in October; trainer in form; still looks well handicapped if straight for seasonal debut Two wins last year; acts on fast ground and worth a market check after seven months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BAY DREAM BELIEVER scored off this mark over C&D last summer. A recent third at Beverley boosts confidence in her chances, given the winner has subsequently gone in again, and Mark Walford's inmate could be bang there at the finish. Mariner remains on a workable mark, despite a 3lb rise for scoring at Doncaster, while the unexposed Steps In Time makes his handicap debut and is worth noting for any significant moves in the market.

The choice is BAY DREAM BELIEVER (nap) who is back off the same mark as when winning over C&D last August.

11/4(+45%) | (8) Barmyblade 11/4, Scored by a head off 50 over 5f at Catterick penultimate start, but lazy early and benefited from a pace collapse; no surprises failed to reproduce that last time; chance, but not reliable Won at Catterick last month but behind Pastoral Way at Ayr last time; has stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (12/1 +25%)Novamay |
12/1(+25%) | (2) Novamay 12/1, Very little promise since fair 3rd on 2yo debut back in July; mark is falling, but hard to recommend Disappointing in three starts after a promising debut; off 226 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (18/1 -50%)Miss Cast |
18/1(-50%) | (4) Miss Cast 18/1, Ran terribly on reappearance at Doncaster, but decent nursery form last year and doesn't look badly handicapped; chance if fitter this time Showed ability on her third start last summer, but out of the frame in all three handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 +14%)Lima Sierra |
6/1(+14%) | (6) Lima Sierra 6/1, Yet to reach level of 2yo form this time around, but did not run badly last time beaten 2 1/4l off 54 at Newcastle; off a short-break and on a fair mark now In the frame in three of her five starts since contesting AW handicaps; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/2 +8%)I Got Know How |
11/2(+8%) | (9) I Got Know How 11/2, Ran to form beaten 3 1/2l off 53 at Pontefract last time; open to improvement second start back, but mark seems on stiff side Not beaten far when fifth of 12 on last month's handicap debut; could play a part. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 +11%)Miakoda |
4/1(+11%) | (3) Miakoda 4/1, Game when scoring by 2l off 52 over 7f at Newcastle three starts back; bit below that form since twice on turf; would go well if rediscovering it, but risky 1-15, the win coming on the AW; needs the return to sprinting to make a difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (13/2 -30%)Pastoral Way |
13/2(-30%) | (7) Pastoral Way 13/2, Very consistent and thereabouts all three handicap starts; cheekpieces first time; up in trip and staying on latest; mark not the most generous, but more reliable than most In the frame in last four starts; has shaped as though worth a go at 6f; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (25/1 +11%)Kilo Sunshine |
25/1(+11%) | (10) Kilo Sunshine 25/1, Appeared not to stay well beaten in a handicap over 7f at Newcastle latest; off a short-break and drop down in trip may help, but no really worthwhile form Not shown much in four starts including on handicap debut; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (14/1 -133%)Queen Dinah |
14/1(-133%) | (5) Queen Dinah 14/1, Well beaten in a maiden at Newcastle latest and only minor promise prior to that on first two starts; handicap debut and may improve after a wind operation Returns to turf for her handicap debut following wind surgery; may fare better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (1) (16/1 -100%)Sun Keeper |
16/1(-100%) | (1) Sun Keeper 16/1, Game when scored by 3/4l off 55 at Wolverhampton in February and good run when hampered twice at Newcastle penultimate start; mark looks fair, but ran poorly latest All seven starts on the AW including a Wolverhampton win; turf debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Lima Sierra has a shout on the pick of her all-weather form over the winter, while Pastoral Way is fitted with cheekpieces for his first attempt at 6f, having finished third over the minimum trip at Ayr. I GOT KNOW HOW returned to action with her best effort to date, when fifth at Pontefract last month. A winner has already come out of that race and she could have more to offer on only her second start in a handicap.

The vote goes to PASTORAL WAY who has already shown ability but has suggested the step up to 6f may unlock a bit more.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
