SOUND BITE was just collared at the line on his introduction at Leopardstown 12 days ago and can gain compensation. The Teofilo colt made the running and looked to have done enough when asserting over a furlong from home, only to be pipped at the post. He can put that experience to good use. Check This Out was also second on debut, at this venue last month, but was well beaten by Romeo Sensini. He probably needs to improve on that. Honouramongthieves was second in a barrier trial and is one to note.

Beaten a head on his debut at Leopardstown, SOUND BITE probably does not need to improve much to go one better

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (22/1 -38%)Malpeque |
22/1(-38%) | (8) Malpeque 22/1, Well backed well beaten in a maiden at Leopardstown latest; hard to recommend and looks one for low grade handicaps after this Half-sister to talented stablemate Snellen, well held by Lavender Breeze on recent running. |

LIL' ANGEL ran a big race in Down Royal and can go one better. The Dark Angel filly stepped up to 7f, having run with promise over the minimum trip on debut. She went down fighting by a neck to Rajala and a similar effort may be enough. Beyond Dreams shaped with promise when third on her sole outing last season and could be the danger on her return. Lavender Breeze won a barrier trial before a nice effort to finish third on debut at Leopardstown. She is another who has to be on the shortlist.

The well-related BEYOND DREAMS shaped promisingly on her only start at two and can score here for Dermot Weld in the Tabor colours

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (40/1 -21%)Layoftheland |
40/1(-21%) | (12) Layoftheland 40/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in a handicap at Limerick most recent where give plenty to do; usually held up; needs to improve Showed decent form in the early stages of last season, totally out of form this term. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (66/1 -100%)Super Fly |
66/1(-100%) | (4) Super Fly 66/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 9f at Leopardstown most recent; not proven trip; yet to show much; needs to improve Started his career in bumpers; weak form in maidens, struggled on recent handicap debut. |

33/1(-18%) | (13) Top Of The Pops 33/1, Benefited from positive ride scored by 2l off 46 over 8f at Gowran Park in April; seventh beaten 13l off 46 last time; cheekpieces first time; not proven trip; outsider Long-priced winner over 1m at Gowran in April, moderate form since over a range of trips. |

STAR MIND showed significant improvement when second at Leopardstown and may be able to strike, despite getting a 5lb rise for that performance. The Advertise filly had been running over sprint trips before stepping up to nine furlongs when chasing home Noble Andy. She may have bumped into one then and there looks a race in her, even after her increase. Poppadom ran really well at Gowran and a similar performance would see him thereabouts. Northern Attitude ran a big race here on her penultimate outing and it was a solid effort again at Fairyhouse last time. She is another to consider.

Hampered off the home turn at Fairyhouse, NORTHERN ATTITUDE (nap) gets the vote on the strength of a C&D second in her first handicap

10th (8) (50/1 -52%)Expert Analysis |
50/1(-52%) | (8) Expert Analysis 50/1, Raced freely well beaten in a nursery over 8f at Leopardstown latest where unsuited by soft ground; usually consistent; returning from long layoff; up in trip; bit to find Didn't really progress at two; belated seasonal debut for new yard; of limited appeal. |

ELUSIVE DUKE fulfilled early promise with his victory at Leopardstown and may be able to follow up. The Elzaam gelding got on top in the closing stages over nine furlongs and going slightly further now can help him defy the 7lb rise. Starford could also still have upside after opening his account in good fashion at Gowran. That was his handicap debut and he received a 7lb rise too. Coulstys Way also comes here in winning form, although her 8lb hike for a 1m4f triumph here looks a bit harsher in comparison.

The Gowran win of STARFORD looks strong form and Joseph O'Brien's charge could well be up to defying a 7lb rise

14th (11) (125/1 -213%)Memories Maker |
125/1(-213%) | (11) Memories Maker 125/1, Down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Clonmel most recent; tongue-tie first time; not proven trip; inconsistent when last seen on flat in UK; bit to find Recent hurdles form doesn't inspire confidence on Flat return; tongue-tie tried. |

ACTION PLAN was slightly unlucky on his last visit here and may be able to go one better. Ger O'Leary's charge ran into traffic problems before finishing off strongly to get within a neck of Out On Friday. He remains on the same mark of 78. Thrifty Of Digby won over C&D on her penultimate outing and has been a solid third again since at Leopardstown. Vierson, who chased her home here in May, is now 4lb better off so has a chance of turning the tables.

By far the least exposed of these SIDIZA is taken to make a winning handicap debut on seasonal return

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Another good renewal of this race and Irish Oaks third PURPLE LILY could prove the one to beat on her return. She mixed it with the best of her generation in both the 1,000 Guineas and the Oaks at the Curragh last season and has reportedly done well over the winter. This looks like a nice starting point and any rain that falls before racing will help. The Willie Mullins-trained Hipop De Loire looks like the danger on ratings. He was last seen finishing a fine fifth in the Ebor at York last August. Grade 1-winning hurdler Hello Neighbour is a fascinating runner and it will be interesting to see how he fares back on the Flat.

Last year's Irish Oaks third PURPLE LILY looks the one to beat on seasonal return

12th (2) (150/1 -50%)Cad Is Anam |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Cad Is Anam 150/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability in bumpers or over hurdles; blinkers first time; back in trip; all to do on flat debut Shown nothing in a bumper and maiden hurdle. |

JANES HARBOUR stayed on nicely when third on her return to the Flat at Ballinrobe last week and should appreciate going a bit further now. The Camelot filly had won over timber on her previous visit to the Mayo venue and is capable of adding a Flat maiden to her CV. Mono River had some good placed form in England and didn't run too badly when last seen in a Curragh maiden. He could make more of an impression in this company. The Paddy Twomey-trained newcomer Sky Captain is one to note in the market.

Given the yard's strike rate it seems a good bet that SKY CAPTAIN will be well primed for this somewhat belated debut
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
