A consistent sort since going hurdling, NOTICEBOX can record the first win of his career. With an official rating of 115, he should be good enough to win a contest such as this. Runner-up on his last three starts, Power Of Words is another that should make the breakthrough before too long. Jetaway Nana is one that could have scope for further improvement.

There's a lot of dead wood here. NOTICEBOX has been shaping like a winner waiting to happen and opportunity knocks here.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (11) (33/1 +18%)Silk Degrees |
33/1(+18%) | (11) Silk Degrees 33/1, Below par down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Downpatrick most recent; generally out of form; off a short-break; all to do Has shown pretty much nothing in four Flat runs and a maiden hurdle at Downpatrick. |

A winner at this track on the Flat last October, FIREBRAND can make the breakthrough over hurdles. He needs to improve on recent form but has the potential to do so. Point-to-point runner-up Laurie Blue has yet to reach the frame under Rules but this looks a weak affair. Given her experience, the Court Cave mare has to be respected. Flat winners Roman Harry and River Derwent also enter calculations.

The pick of his efforts on the Flat and over hurdles would suggest that FIREBRAND is the one they all have to beat.

NED IN THE PARK can reverse recent course form with We're Back Again. Sent off favourite on that occasion, the Tim Doyle-trained gelding was still in contention when badly hampered after the second last. But for that interference, he may well have finished ahead of the Patrick Griffin-trained runner-up. The aforementioned We're Back Again is entitled to improve sufficiently from that promising debut effort to be the main danger. If none the worse for his recent fall at Down Royal, bumper winner Big Dee should also be competitive.

When behind We're Back Again here last month NED IN THE PARK was badly hampered two out. The selection has run well since.

Runner-up here over fences last month, INTHENICKOFTIME can exploit a lower rating back over hurdles. A winner at Wexford last year, the Enda Bolger-trained five-year-old has shaped with plenty of promise on three starts over the larger obstacles and he appears to have been found an ideal opportunity to record the second win of his career. Killarney chase winner Smallcraftwarning also has to be of interest back over hurdles. Recent scorers Adaliz and Mister Vic are both worthy of consideration.

The suggestion is SMALLCRAFTWARNING who has been running well this year in both jumps disciplines and remains on a competitive mark.

7/2(-27%) | (1) Fiveonefive 7/2, Travelled, took same contest last year off 1lb lower, returned to form back down in trip when won a handicap hurdle at Cartmel by 2l last time; useful handicap hurdler; usually held up; contender on chase debut Won over timber latest, pedigree suggests he may take to fences, rain a worry. |

FOXY GIRL has been lightly-raced and frustrating to follow since scoring back in December 2022 but has shown useful chase form on recent runs and is suited by soft ground. Her old hurdles form was useful and while she has been beaten in four chases, bumped into some capable types in those races and is suited by this distance. Maidenstreetprince will also handle an ease and ran well in a good handicap at Killarney last month. Fiveonefive is also noted.

MAIDENSTREETPRINCE ran with credit in a decent handicap chase last time and may finally get his head in front over fences

STILY has shown improved form over hurdles recently and might score on his chase debut. Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
