LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

SUSPICIOUS MINDZ finished third at Listed level last month and has claims if coping with likely testing ground conditions. Although bred for sprinting and a half-brother to fast Group 2 winner The Ridler, he stayed this distance well at Tipperary. He is unproven on soft, which is a concern, but receives weight from his principal rivals. Summer Is Tomorrow was promoted from third to second in the Ballyhane Stakes, but is vulnerable to a smart type and also has going concerns. Morehampton is by Sea The Moon so should be OK on easy ground, but steps up from his Gowran win.

Dermot Weld's RED AUTUMN seemed to handle soft conditions on debut and this is easier than the Group 3 she contested last time

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

MANHATTAN DANDY has a wide draw but will relish the softening conditions and competes from a career-low rating. A course winner in 2023, he scored twice subsequently on heavy ground and although well held at Limerick in June, he has dropped to a mark of just 43 and is ridden by a capable 3lb claimer. La La Lucrative has poor form figures but met some traffic on recent runs, was a winner here in May, and likes soft ground. Play It Again Zaam is another Roscommon winner with poor recent form, but he will appreciate easy ground and competes from a handy mark.

The ground being likely to ease could spark revivals. PLAY IT AGAIN ZAAM heads the list. He is a C&D winner on soft and is well-drawn

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The arrival of forecast rain would greatly help mudlark MERISI DIAMOND, who won last year's renewal. All his best form is on really testing ground and although held in three runs this year, he has been freshened up since May and is worth risking. Rhythm King also has a strong preference for heavy and is just 2lb higher than when successful at the Curragh last November. Rowdy Yeats bumped into Arizona Blaze, Cercene and Currawood in his initial career defeats and although well beaten on his most recent start, he seems better suited by easy ground.

Though he is only a 3yo and is carrying a big weight, ROWDY YEATS is a quality sort who will be well suited by today's conditions.

IN MY TEENS has a good pedigree and scored impressively in a maiden in June. Out of her trainer's dual Grade 1-winning hurdler Jer's Girl, who landed a Flat maiden on heavy ground at this venue, she showed promise on debut and then bolted up at Down Royal. The daughter of Camelot steps up markedly in class on much softer ground now, but seems a work in progress and could be good. Ulster Derby winner Vorfreude and Sonoran have proven form on soft ground, but are vulnerable to a smart type. Heiselectric won nicely at Leopardstown, but is likely to encounter a tougher task on softer ground.

INDIAN RIVER showed enough on his racecourse debut at the Galway Festival to suggest he can land this maiden. Making headway from over two furlongs out, the John Joseph Murphy-trained gelding finished a length and a half behind a subsequent winner with an official rating of 95. Granted normal improvement, the son of Nathaniel should be hard to beat under Dylan Browne McMonagle. Juniper Sling would have strong claims if able to replicate her Naas third from earlier in the season. Although only fifth at Bellewstown after, she can't be written off. Simurgh hasn't been seen since last October, but would have every chance if ready to roll.

Not too strong a maiden and worth giving another chance to JUNIPER SLING, who may not have handled the track at Bellewstown

With Colin Keane back in the saddle, DERRY LAD is given another chance to prove that he is well handicapped. Although yet to win for trainer Emmet Mullins, the gelding showed definite promise on his stable debut at Leopardstown and ran a big race when fourth at this track in July. His latest effort at Ballinrobe is best ignored as the seven-year-old never saw daylight until it was too late and was then hampered when finally getting a run. Clear Quartz had little chance from a wide draw at Galway on his reappearance, but is undoubtedly much better than that bare form. Duke Of Leggagh is another to consider under his capable 10lb claimer.

It might be worth giving DERRY LAD another chance as he was keen behind a slow pace when disappointing at Ballinrobe last time.

The Andrew Slattery-trained WHATS NEWS has a good opportunity to open his account. Runner-up at Killarney and Cork, he ran another solid race when fourth at Sligo subsequently. A final-flight faller when holding second place on his hurdling debut back at Killarney last month, the son of Soldier's Call has every chance if none the worse for that experience now back on the level. Highland Harvey could improve on previous form now that he steps up significantly in trip. A son of Highland Reel, the Tony Martin-trained gelding has hinted at ability on a couple of occasions. Highway Sixty One catches the eye, with Colin Keane an interesting booking.

This step up in trip should suit TICKLING and her pedigree suggests she'll handle testing conditions

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
