1st (10) (11/1 +21%)Fishermans Cottage |
11/1(+21%) | (10) Fishermans Cottage 11/1, Bit below form towards the end of 2024 and slowly away when beaten 9l in a handicap over 5f at Bath last time out in October; may need this Nine-race maiden who makes only limited appeal on first start since October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (13/2 +59%)Diamond Cottage |
13/2(+59%) | (8) Diamond Cottage 13/2, Probably needed race beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Wolverhampton on reappearance; in fair form towards the end of 2024 and if recaptures that could contend Made low-key reappearance on AW last month but well handicapped on 2024 turf forrm. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/2 +35%)The Cola Kid |
11/2(+35%) | (7) The Cola Kid 11/2, Below par of late and beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Wolverhampton last time off just a pound higher mark; down in trip; minor chance, but needs to find some form Placed over C&D last summer but has lacked fizz on the AW this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (16/1 +11%)Endowed |
16/1(+11%) | (6) Endowed 16/1, Consistent in 2024 until probably unsuited by heavy and well beaten in a handicap over 5f at Nottingham final start; looks on a fair mark and has run quite well for this jockey in the past Regressive 8yo who was unplaced all five starts last season; back from a layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (3/1 +54%)Beau Jardine |
3/1(+54%) | (3) Beau Jardine 3/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark down the field in a handicap over 8f at Goodwood most recent; goes well here; down in trip; may just need the race Emphatic soft-ground C&D winner last spring; returns from 203-day break today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (5/2 +38%)The Cola Brasil |
5/2(+38%) | (5) The Cola Brasil 5/2, In good form and only beaten 2l off 57 at Wolverhampton last time with same jockey up; if can repeat that on turf will be thereabouts Runner-up over 6f on latest AW start and looks well treated off 7lb lower turf mark. |

5/1(+17%) | (1) Under Curfew 5/1, Scored by 1 1/4l off 51 at Wolverhampton in February and creditable third beaten 4 1/2l off 53 last time; bit to find on both those pieces of AW form on turf mark here, but might be better on grass In pretty good form on AW this year; each-way claims at least off his higher turf mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (40/1 -21%)Katar |
40/1(-21%) | (9) Katar 40/1, In fairly poor form most of 2024 and if anything even that tailed off towards the end of the season; hard to recommend 37-race maiden; hopes pinned on wind surgery making a difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A drop in trip worked a treat for the recent Leicester 6f winner WAISTCOAT and there could be more to come from him. A 3lb nudge up in the ratings may prove inconsequential for the son of Sea The Stars and he's preferred to The Cola Brasil. Michael Bell's inmate arrives on the back of a solid second at Wolverhampton and he isn't taken lightly off a 7lb lower mark on turf. Ever Driven is the pick of the remainder.

Veteran mare DIAMOND COTTAGE probably needed her recent reappearance outing and has become well handicapped.

1st (1) (7/4 +0%)Anthelia |
7/4(+0%) | (1) Anthelia 7/4, 2 1/2l winner in a novice at Bath on debut on quick ground; a surprise winner on debut (18/1) but was going away at the finish despite being pretty green early, solid claims Impressed at Bath and sets a fair standard for the newcomers to target. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/1 -71%)Madame X |
6/1(-71%) | (3) Madame X 6/1, Yard has won 2 of last 8 runnings of race; 23 Feb; Ardad filly; half-sister to Duc De Morny, very smart at 8f; dam very smart at 6f at 2yo; threat from powerful yard Newcomer from a yard that has won this in the past with Group-class fillies. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (22/1 -238%)Lovethiswayagain |
22/1(-238%) | (2) Lovethiswayagain 22/1, Yard won this last year; 16 Apr; 35,000 euros No Nay Never filly; full-sister to Snapdragon, smart at 5f; dam high-class at 10f; yard in good form; looks stable second string, big ask No Nay Never filly who cost 35,000euros as a yearling; stable runs two. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/11 +64%)Piazza |
10/11(+64%) | (4) Piazza 10/11, Yard won this last year; 26 Feb; 80,000gns Starspangledbanner filly; dam useful at 7f at 2yo; trainer in form; yard in good form; looks stable number one, likely dangerous 80,000gns yearling; the market should be revealing with the trainer doubly represented. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ANTHELIA created a big impression when winning on debut at Bath last month and she looks one to keep on the right side of. Rod Millman's filly overcame greenness and may prove too savvy for the newcomers. Madame X, a half-sister to the Italian Group-placed Duc De Morny, boasts enough speed/class in her pedigree to give the selection something to think about, ahead of Piazza.

All three newcomers are interesting but ANTHELIA should be all the wiser for her Bath win which was quite impressive in the end.

1st (2) (10/3 +67%)Miss Show Off |
10/3(+67%) | (2) Miss Show Off 10/3, Going probably on fast side fourth beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Bath latest; may not relish fast ground; yet to find level since handicapping, bit to prove Novice winner; 0-4 in handicaps but there has been promise, including last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/4 +44%)Lil Guff |
9/4(+44%) | (1) Lil Guff 9/4, Well backed when scored by 1 1/2l off 81 at Bath penultimate start; fifth beaten 2 1/4l off 86 last time; conditions suit well; bang in the mix back on turf Impressed at Bath and better on turf, as Southwell last time reminded us. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/8 +0%)Liosa |
13/8(+0%) | (4) Liosa 13/8, Bit in hand landing a handicap by 2 1/4l off 72 over 6f at Kempton last time; better form on AW; not proven trip, has pace so could suit; progressive, the one to beat Easy winner off this mark on the AW latest; may have improved since last on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 -45%)Second Name |
8/1(-45%) | (3) Second Name 8/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap at Lingfield latest on handicap debut; in good form prior; trainer in form; returning from a break; turf debut; bit to prove 2-2 in novices but easy to back on handicap debut and never threatened; turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (14/1 -75%)Joy Choi |
14/1(-75%) | (6) Joy Choi 14/1, Landed a handicap by 1 1/4l off 59 at Chepstow last time on soft ground; returning from long layoff; up in grade; CD winner; fast ground a concern; contender but probably needs rain A winner last May at Chepstow; has been off for 12 months but she's able when fresh. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The hat-trick seeking Liosa arrives at the top of his game and, off the same mark as his latest triumph at Kempton, he is sure to have his supporters reverting to turf. However, The Last Lion gelding has yet to prove as effective on this surface, so it could be worth chancing LIL GUFF. The six-year-old made all on her penultimate outing at Bath and she wasn't disgraced on her following fifth at Southwell. The lightly-raced Second Name shouldn't be underestimated either.

Liosa is much respected off a potentially good mark but MISS SHOW OFF will surely enjoy better fortune than last time out.

1st (2) (2/5 +30%)El Matador |
2/5(+30%) | (2) El Matador 2/5, Well backed, came clear with winner showing good attitude on very promising debut when runner-up beaten 1/2l in a maiden over 8f at Nottingham; top course trainer; back in trip, which may suit and should improve on seasonal debut Beaten fav but ran to a good level on sole 2yo run (1m, soft); open to lots of improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (10/3 -48%)Sea Baaeed |
10/3(-48%) | (1) Sea Baaeed 10/3, Scored on promising debut at Wolverhampton in October, but far too free on return beaten 7 1/4l in a 3yo race at Newmarket; may settle better for that run and improve; threat Looked promising when winning on AW (7f) last October; below par on return; can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (50/1 +24%)Grand Harbour |
50/1(+24%) | (3) Grand Harbour 50/1, Missed the break and well beaten in a maiden at Lingfield only start; stable bring them along slowly and this race will be adding to education 40-1, slowly away and beaten nearly 20l on Monday's Lingfield debut (7f, AW). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (9/1 +18%)Bel Air Flyer |
9/1(+18%) | (6) Bel Air Flyer 9/1, £8,000 Belardo filly; half-sister to Keke, very useful at 5f; dam unraced half-sister to a few winners, one over 6f at 2yo; yard don't tend to rush them, but have made a fast start after a poor season in 2024 £8,000 half-sister to sprint winner Keke (RPR 101); useful standard to aim at on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

EL MATADOR shaped with lots of promise, despite failing to justify favouritism, when hitting the woodwork on his debut at Nottingham in October. The son of Lope De Vega may have lots more to offer this season and can get off to a winning start. Sea Baaeed was well held in fifth at Newmarket on his most recent start, but sets the standard for others to aim at with a rating of 88. Any market confidence behind Marmalade Kid would be interesting.

Sea Baaeed is better than he showed on his return but conceding 7lb to the promising EL MATADOR may prove beyond him.

2nd (5) (11/2 +8%)Golden Phase |
11/2(+8%) | (5) Golden Phase 11/2, Raced freely fourth beaten 6 1/2l in a handicap at Bath latest; consistent; winner on fast ground; ideal trip; pound drop will help, threat Lacks a run but not impossibly treated and conditions will be up her street. |

3rd (2) (13/8 -123%)Just An Hour |
13/8(-123%) | (2) Just An Hour 13/8, Game when landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off 68 at Nottingham last time back from a layoff; handles quick ground; 10f ideal; looked rejuvenated by the break, major player Raised 6lb for his clearcut win at Nottingham but has been rated higher in the past. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (18/1 -29%)Judge Frank |
18/1(-29%) | (4) Judge Frank 18/1, Ground probably too testing down the field in a handicap over 8f at Bath most recent; in good form prior; up in trip a concern; from chance if fit to do justice off a layoff Will like the ground and still on a useful mark, but lacking a run perhaps not ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (10/3 +26%)Didaar |
10/3(+26%) | (1) Didaar 10/3, Well backed beaten 2l off 75 at Redcar last time not getting the rub of the green when not much room; likely will strip fitter and with better luck is entitled to go close First run after being gelded when a closing third off this mark at Redcar (1m2f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JUST AN HOUR comfortably took care of his nearest rival by over three lengths to score at Nottingham last month and a 6lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. If the son of Justify remains in similar form, he will prove very hard to beat. Didaar showed more after being gelded over the winter when making the frame at Redcar and should remain competitive off an unchanged rating. Judge Frank looks best of the rest.

Just An Hour is solid but slight preference is for DIDAAR who should be able to build on his encouraging return at Redcar.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/2 -27%)Bull Run |
7/2(-27%) | (3) Bull Run 7/2, 260,000gns Sea The Moon colt; dam top-class at 8f won the French 1000 Guineas; top course trainer; very interesting debutant 260,000gns yearling; by Sea The Moon and a third foal out of a French 1,000 Guineas winner. |

8/1(-78%) | (4) Earnest Belief 8/1, 110,000gns Mastercraftsman colt; full-brother to Coltrane, high-class stayer; top trainer; bred to need the test of stamina, but may also need a little time; interesting all the same 110,000gns yearling; sixth foal; brother to top stayer Coltrane. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 -233%)Spiritofaustralia |
25/1(-233%) | (5) Spiritofaustralia 25/1, 45,000 euros Australia gelding; half-brother to Gran Paradiso, useful at 13f; dam smart at 6f at 2yo; top stable; worth watching in the market Has been gelded and perhaps the stable second string on jockey bookings. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOLD CUP DAY caught the eye making late headway at Newbury on his introduction last month. He will have learnt plenty for that experience and this extra furlong will suit the son of Golden Horn. Earnest Belief is a full-brother to the top-notch stayer Coltrane and the newcomer will likely make his presence felt, while Triple Gee is related to middle-distance winners and could also get involved.

Bull Run could be the danger but GOLD CUP DAY has some experience and it was a likeable debut at Newbury.

50/1(-100%) | (1) Regally Blonde 50/1, Poor over hurdles this year; last of eleven at Wolverhampton when last on Flat in December; lot to prove Flat winner in 2022; poor form in poor hurdle races following a wind operation. |

10th (5) (20/1 -25%)Ray's The One |
20/1(-25%) | (5) Ray's The One 20/1, Wide trip beaten 5l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Warwick last time; struggling when last seen on the Flat; trip suits well; quick ground a concern; bit to prove Placed over hurdles in February but three lesser performances since then. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

WANNABEAWALLABY has slipped down the handicap and went close to landing that elusive first win when finding only one too good at Bath last month. Dylan Cunha's charge gets another chance in this similar contest. Breccia has won over hurdles since scoring at Wolverhampton at the end of last year and could launch a challenge, while Grey Owl recorded his only win to date over course and distance in August and returns to the fray 3lb higher.

Most of these find winning extremely difficult. GREY OWL (nap) has only won the once but he is consistent and this is very winnable.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
