In a race full of unknown quantities, it could pay to side with the twice-raced RAJETERIAT. The form of his recent third over 5f at Beverley is working out well and the son of Mehmas can open his account here. Art Market is surely capable of better than he showed on his debut and a big step forward from William Haggas' charge should not be ruled out. Backspin and Siegen also enter calculations in what should be an informative contest.

The betting should reveal plenty here but RAJETERIAT possesses the best form on offer and still looked green when third at Beverley last time so gets the vote. Tom Ward's Mohaather filly Skellig Isle is bred to be above-average so could emerge as the main danger ahead of Siegen, Hucklesbrook and Backspin.

Rajeteriat spoiled his finishing effort by hanging last time. SIEGEN is preferred, ahead of Hucklesbrook.

MARY OF MODENA teed herself up for a tilt at this when finishing an excellent second over 5f at Windsor on her reappearance in April and, nudged up 2lb, she gets the vote to go one place better. Recent Doncaster runner-up Brave Nation was doing his best work in the closing stages on that occasion and he should be running on when others have cried enough, while Acklam Express' mark continues to fall and he commands respect too.

FANTASY MASTER shaped well at Nottingham last week, faring best of those to race prominently, and is handicapped to win, so he could be the answer from stall 2. Good cases can be made for many others in a hot race though, chief among them last year's winner Lil Guff, Jenever, and the classy pair Atalanta's Boy and Acklam Express, who are potentially thrown-in.

Acklam Express is greatly respected but JENEVER has been threatening better and this stiff 5f should be ideal for him.

On paper, there is lots to like about 1,000,000gns breeze-up purchase ROYAL OFFICER and this son of Galileo can get off the mark at the first time of asking for the in-form Charlie Appleby stable. Wathnan Racing have shown their appetite for first-time-out winners in recent weeks and a bold bid from their son of Too Darn Hot, Consolidation, would come as no surprise. Attack and Aegean Sea are a couple of others worthy of consideration.

ROYAL OFFICER fetched 1 million at the Craven Breeze-Up sales, the most expensive horse at the auction, and is hard to get away from first time up. The betting will obviously be informative, with Consolidation, another who fetched a tidy sum at Newmarket, interesting on debut. Attack has strong claims having shaped promisingly at Yarmouth and looking sure to improve.

The shortlist comprises the very interesting newcomers ROYAL OFFICER and Consolidation, along with form pick Attack.

Being drawn widest of all might not be ideal for CRYSTAL MARINER but he can still be given a chance. Third in behind an improver on his reappearance at Chester last month, Sir Michael Stoute's charge is open to further progress himself and appears to hold strong claims off an unchanged mark. Another unexposed type Prince Maxi was a promising fourth at Newbury off this mark in April and could have a say, while dual C&D winner Sweet Reward is noted too.

C&D scorer GALLANT LION can race off the same mark as when an encouraging Newbury sixth so is fancied to open his account for his current yard. Crystal Mariner looks to have better days ahead of him and heads the list of dangers, with Born Ruler also firmly in the picture. Wisper completes the shortlist.

The percentage call goes to GALLANT LION, ahead of Born Ruler and Crystal Mariner.

An opening mark of 82 doesn't look beyond GAMES PEOPLE PLAY based on what she achieved across her three qualifying runs, and Ralph Beckett's filly receives a tentative vote in what looks a fairly open heat. Crimson Road, who struck off a 7lb lower mark at Lingfield last time out, holds obvious claims once again, along with Devoirs Choice, who appeared to relish a step up to 10 furlongs when occupying the runner-up spot at Haydock recently.

This looks wide open. DEVOIRS CHOICE rates the pick of the weights on the back of his excellent recent Haydock second so edges the verdict. Handicap-debutants Games People Play and Travolta both appeal as likely improvers though and merit serious consideration. Ravenswell is another who can have a say in an intriguing contest.

Several runners have interesting claims. First choice is TRAVOLTA (nap), ahead of Devoirs Choice.

DIVINE BREATH made a mockery of her mark when stepping back up to this trip at Chelmsford last time, and a 6lb penalty still leaves her very well treated in what is admittedly a much more competitive race. She looks the one to side with, but State Flag could have plenty more to come after getting off the mark at Lingfield last month and an opening mark of 75 doesn't look beyond Tom Ward's filly. Lunar Streets wasn't beaten that far on her reappearance last time and she should do better with that run under her belt.

DIVINE BREATH gets out under a penalty before a 15 lb rise for last week's easy Chelmsford success kicks in and she'll be tough to beat if in a similar mood. Sunfall can have a line put through her Newmarket handicap debut run and looks second best ahead of Zipster.

Divine Breath has to be feared but likely improver LADY FLORA is an interesting alternative. State Flag is also respected.

Cock And Bull ran another cracker when narrowly beaten at Wolverhampton last time, but a 5lb rise for that does temper enthusiasm slightly and it might be worth chancing ALLONSY to get off the mark at the sixth time of asking. Ralph Beckett's filly has run well in defeat on a few occasions and she looks ready for this step up in trip. Night Horn has struggled to land a blow on his four starts to date, but Andrew Balding's colt is bred to do better and he's another who could step forward for this stiffer test of stamina.

ARCH LEGEND has been freshened up since his Chester no show and is taken to resume his progression. Allonsy can give Mark/Charlie Johnston's charge most to think about.

This could turn messy but, tactics aside, ALLONSY gets the vote now sent over a trip that she appears to be crying out for.
Ths is the racecard key.
