13:38 Sedgefield (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CAPTAIN COOL didn't make it past the third hurdle when unseating at Doncaster last month, sending favourite-backers home unhappy. However, the six-year-old is a C&D winner who lurks on an appealing rating and he can make amends. Blackwater Lilly has been out of form on the Flat, but was successful in a maiden at Bangor the last time she competed in this sphere so she is respected. Of the remainder, Cosmic Soul makes the most appeal.

C&D winner CAPTAIN COOL is probably still on a good mark and is selected in the hope he can make all again.

14:18 Sedgefield (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

After filling the runner-up spot in each of his last two outings, this might be the day for WIND YOUR NECK IN. Despite being put up 3lb for his latest effort at Catterick, the seven-year-old looks well placed to go one better. Shan't Wait has been thereabouts the last twice, most recently finishing third at Market Rasen, and takes a step back up in trip. Dartmhor looks best of the rest.

This move back up in trip could be the right move for SHAN'T WAIT, who has been placed twice over 2m since his wind op.

14:58 Sedgefield (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bumper scorer REBEL TRIBESMAN makes plenty of appeal on his first start for the Jamie Snowden stable. This looks a very winnable contest and the five-year-old should prove too good for these. Laristote could only manage seventh on his debut over timber at Wetherby, but sports a first-time tongue-tie and has since undergone a wind operation so he is one to watch. Liberty Coach completes the shortlist.

Preference is for REBEL TRIBESMAN, who looked promising when winning a big-field Aintree bumper last May.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALRIGHT DAI arrives in fine fettle having won over hurdles at Taunton before making a successful start over fences at Fontwell. Despite a 7lb rise, Neil Mulholland's gelding makes plenty of appeal stepping back up in trip. Le Grand Vert bounced back to form when returning to the UK at Ayr and a repeat of that display would give him every chance. Realisation and Upfordebate head the remainder.

C&D winner UPFORDEBATE (nap) held his own in a good Carlisle handicap last month and, with his sights lowered, can resume his progress.

POWEROFJET didn't appear to stay 2m3f at Catterick and dropping back in trip gives him a strong chance of getting back to winning ways. The seven-year-old struck at Newcastle on his penultimate start and it wouldn't be a surprise if he had more to offer in this sphere. Intenzo is open to improvement on his handicap/chase debut, while Clean Getaway heads the remainder.

The pick is INTENZO, who has shown clear promise in three maiden hurdles this year and now makes his chase/handicap debut.

CRIMSON OCEAN shaped with plenty of encouragement on her racecourse debut when fourth at Wetherby in November and she wouldn't need to improve much from that effort to get off the mark. Connells Cross filled the runner-up spot when trained by Fergal O'Brien at Perth last May and appears to be the main threat. Datstheholyallofit appeals most of the newcomers.

Dan Horsford's well-bred mare CRIMSON OCEAN shaped well when fourth at Wetherby in November and sets a fair standard.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
