14:07 Sedgefield (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Nathan Wells made a pleasing stable debut for the Andrew Hamilton team when filling the runner-up spot at Hexham three weeks ago and he merits the utmost respect in a race of this nature, but the vote goes to MASTERPIECE. Rebecca Menzies' gelding, a bumper winner at Newcastle in October, looks certain to appreciate the switch to hurdling and ought to go close. Tyson Magoo is another to consider.

Nathan Wells finished ahead of SOLDIER IN MAYO at Hexham last time but he isn't certain to confirm placings over this trip.

14:42 Sedgefield (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The step up to 2m5f over fences ought to suit JACKPOT CASH judged on his staying-on second over an extended 2m1f at Bangor in February. James Owen's charge is open to further improvement in this discipline and could prove too strong for veteran Tom Creen, who has been admirably consistent since October. Beat The Edge looked a little outpaced over 2m4f at Newcastle on Monday but he should be on the premises once again.

This looks all about course specialist TOM CREEN, who ran well behind a progressive sort here last time and holds Beat The Edge

15:17 Sedgefield (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This will not take much winning and should CANCELLED, who achieved a peak rating of 84 on the Flat, take to this new discipline then she could be difficult to beat. A bad mistake at the last put paid to Lara Kaleo's chances at Hereford but that experience ought to stand the daughter of Doctor Dino in good stead, while Land Girl's Luck is fancied to be thereabouts.

Despite her lack of hurdle experience, this can go to useful Flat winner CANCELLED, who may have too much class for these rivals

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

OLD PAGE has won twice over C&D since November and a 3lb rise for the latest of those victories may not be enough to stop the eight-year-old from following up in this moderate event. Ann D'arabie only found one too good at Doncaster last time and is likely to be in the mix once again, while C'Est Quelqu'un is another with valid form claims.

Ann D'Arabie should go well but preference is for C'EST QUELQU'UN, who didn't stay 4m last time but the return to 3m2f should suit

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STAR VANTAGE was not disgraced when fourth over 3m at Musselburgh a couple of weeks ago and a reproduction of that level of form may well be good enough to win this contest. Fabuleux Du Clos has not been seen over hurdles since December 2023, but he was successful on that occasion and should not be discounted on his return. Ocean Legacy won over C&D in February and is next best.

Although he's still a maiden, this can go to STAR VANTAGE, who ran respectably in a better race than this last time and he should stay

MILAJESS arrives here on the back of three consecutive seconds in recent months and Micky Hammond's mare will not find many better opportunities to go one better. The consistent Tara Iti is likely to be in the mix once again as he is clearly on a workable mark. If a wind operation sparks some improvement, Trailblazer is another who could go well.

This is best left to TARA ITI (nap), who hasn't taken long to bounce back to form for this yard and he has plenty in his favour

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
