1st (1) (1/3 +25%)Tree Top Tyson |
1/3(+25%) | (1) Tree Top Tyson 1/3, Improved when dropped in grade after a wind operation, finishing second beaten 3 1/4l in a novice hurdle over 2m at Perth last time. Trainer in form and effective between 2m and 2 1/2m. Had wind surgery prior to running well at Perth last time; leading player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 -25%)Frammy |
5/2(-25%) | (3) Frammy 5/2, Keen but ran to form on hurdle debut when 12l third in a novice hurdle over 2m at Hexham on his latest run. Suited by 2m on good ground and has more to come over hurdles. Won at Sedgefield in final bumper start; placed in novice hurdle since; solid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (25/1 -25%)Captain Ted |
25/1(-25%) | (2) Captain Ted 25/1, Made mistakes and produced a poor hurdle debut when well beaten in a 2m novice at Hexham last time. Placed in a point and may want a bit further than 2m under rules. Well beaten at Hexham on rules debut; the weakest contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This looks a penalty kick for TREE TOP TYSON. The son of Soldier Of Fortune ran a career-best to fill the runner-up spot at Perth last month and Brian Hughes keeps the ride. With a similar performance, he will prove hard to beat. Frammy won a bumper at this venue before finishing a long way clear of Captain Ted (eighth) when third on his hurdles debut at Hexham recently. Donald McCain's gelding may have more to offer and is the main threat.

Wind surgery has evidently helped TREE TOP TYSON, who is taken to back up his Perth effort and beat main form rival Frammy.

1st (2) (5/6 +52%)Couldbeaweapon |
5/6(+52%) | (2) Couldbeaweapon 5/6, The yard has won two of the last five renewals of this race; ran to form when getting first run on closers to win a 2m4f handicap at Southwell by 3/4l off 80 last time; trainer in form; best at 2½m and acts on soft or good ground; in good form. Consistent and the front two were clear when off the mark over fences (1-14) at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (50/1 -52%)Uncle Al |
50/1(-52%) | (3) Uncle Al 50/1, Produced a poor effort and may not have stayed when finishing down the field in a 2m7f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen last time; probably best at 2m4f and acts on good ground; has shown only minor promise so far. Lightly raced but ordinary hurdle form and goes chasing with an awful lot to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/2 -175%)Beat The Edge |
11/2(-175%) | (4) Beat The Edge 11/2, Travelled well and again outbattled late by a strong stayer after looking the winner, beaten a head off 86 at Cartmel in May; consistent but has a poor strike rate, often throwing races away. Again flattered to deceive when narrowly beaten at Cartmel when last seen in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (5/2 +55%)Zuul |
5/2(+55%) | (5) Zuul 5/2, Pulled up in a 2m4f handicap chase at Perth last time but had run to hurdles form on chase debut previously; effective at around 2½m and acts on good ground; should return to form. Pulled up early last time but his previous third on chase debut was respectable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 +24%)Stonegate |
25/1(+24%) | (6) Stonegate 25/1, Failed to travel and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time; has little worthwhile hurdles form and is yet to take to chasing. Limited maiden who has shown very little in his three runs over fences and can be taken on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (12/1 -243%)Prized Jet |
12/1(-243%) | (1) Prized Jet 12/1, Unseated in a beginners' chase over 2m4f at Tramore on debut; effective from 2m6f to 3m and acts on good ground; showed promise over hurdles. Lightly raced and some ability over hurdles; unseated midrace on recent chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Couldbeaweapon justified favouritism by just under a length at Southwell earlier in the month and holds an obvious chance. However, an 8lb rise looks harsh, so it may pay to side with BEAT THE EDGE. Micky Hammond's charge hasn't finished outside the top three on each of his last five outings, with his latest effort being a narrow second at Cartmel in May. The son of Beat Hollow can be rewarded for his consistency on this occasion. Prized Jet looks best of the rest.

A consistent gelding and a winner last time out, COULDBEAWEAPON rates the most likely winner of this modest handicap.

1st (5) (5/2 +17%)Only One Blue |
5/2(+17%) | (5) Only One Blue 5/2, Useful over middle-distances on the Flat; acted on GS and GF; cheekpieces fitted; consistent and interesting hurdling recruit. Dam smart 2m-2m4f hurdle winner; fair Flat maiden for R Hannon but could make a hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (17/2 -240%)Arctic Voyage |
17/2(-240%) | (1) Arctic Voyage 17/2, Useful over 6/7f on the Flat acting on heavy and good ground; tongue-tied and tried in blinkers but form has tailed off. Pretty useful to win 6f novice as 2yo but yet to shine in handicaps, unraced beyond 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (4/7 +48%)Scarlet Moon |
4/7(+48%) | (3) Scarlet Moon 4/7, Very useful up to 14f on the Flat; acted on soft and good; has the pick of the form on the level of these. Won four 1m4f/1m6f Flat handicaps in April-July and showed pretty useful form; one to note. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/1 +52%)Big Gypsy King |
16/1(+52%) | (4) Big Gypsy King 16/1, Far too free on hurdle debut and failed to stay 2m1f at Cartmel; very moderate at around 1m on the Flat; looks an unlikely winner Modest 7f AW winner in May; 28-1, tailed off on hurdling debut at Cartmel. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SCARLET MOON is the highest rated of these on the Flat, improving no less than 14lb since being gelded last October. Archie Watson's three-year-old looks to have found a suitable opportunity on his first outing over timber and may prove tough to stop. Arctic Voyage has failed to fire since switching to the Iain Jardine stable, but makes his first start over hurdles and the booking of Brian Hughes is noteworthy. Only One Blue isn't out of it either.

The key issue seems to be whether SCARLET MOON takes to jumping, because he looks easily the pick on his Flat achievements.

1st (1) (7/2 -5%)Red Delta |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Red Delta 7/2, Improved up in trip when second, beaten 8l in a hunter chase over 3m4f at Stratford last time; effective at 3m2f, handles soft and good ground, and returns from a break. Triple point winner and second in a prestigious hunter chase last time in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/6 +44%)Hostile Hotelier |
4/6(+44%) | (2) Hostile Hotelier 4/6, Travelled well and ran to form on a quick return when landing a handicap hurdle by 1 1/4l off 111 at Newton Abbot last time; chase form similar to hurdles; stays well, acts on any ground, and consistent. Twice second over fences and he was a winner over hurdles last time off 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (12/1 +14%)Zoffalee |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Zoffalee 12/1, Keen and outpaced when unsuited by how the race developed, comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Southwell last time; effective at 3m on good ground; chase and hurdle form of a similar level; best played late. Without a win since 2019; capable of going well but not one for maximum faith. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (15/2 -200%)Ballylinch |
15/2(-200%) | (3) Ballylinch 15/2, From a yard that has won two of the last three runnings of this race; ran to form off a revised mark when beaten a length off 95 at Hexham last May; tongue-tie first time; effective 3m–3m3f, handles soft and good ground; may need the run. Has a long absence to overcome but he's 2-6 over fences; enters the reckoning. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (11/1 +8%)Lights Are Green |
11/1(+8%) | (5) Lights Are Green 11/1, Pulled up in a 3m handicap chase at Perth last time and has shown little recent worthwhile form over fences; returns from a short break and appears unwilling. Has won off higher marks in the past but has regressed in four appearances this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having supplemented his narrow defeat on the hurdle track here with a success at Newton Abbot last time, Hostile Hotelier is a must for any shortlist. Jennie Candlish's charge isn't taken lightly reverting to fences from a 3lb lower rating, but RED DELTA may offer slightly better value. The six-year-old finished a good second in the Champion Novices' Hunters' Chase at Stratford in May and an opening mark of 108 could prove lenient. The returning Ballylinch is the pick of the remainder.

The 7yo HOSTILE HOTELIER (nap) has shown winning potential over fences and he defied a higher hurdle mark last time out.

1st (5) (6/1 -20%)Ivane |
6/1(-20%) | (5) Ivane 6/1, Well treated on chase form and ran to form when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 102 over 2m6f at Fontwell last time. Suited by 2 1/2-2 3/4m on good ground and thriving since moving from Ireland. Consistent over hurdles/fences for new yard, mostly at about 2m4f/2m5f but second at 2m7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/6 +44%)Bumpy Evans |
5/6(+44%) | (2) Bumpy Evans 5/6, Unlucky last time but remains well treated off an unchanged mark, having improved when suited by an aggressive ride at a sharp track. Landed a handicap by 6l off 112 over 3m at Warwick; hugely progressive at 3m on good ground. Front-runs; fell going for five-timer; raced away again on run-in over 3m on latest start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/1 -110%)Fairlawn Flyer |
7/1(-110%) | (3) Fairlawn Flyer 7/1, Outpaced and lacked the speed of the winner but ran to form when second, beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap chase over 3m1f at Cartmel last time. Off a short break and a consistent thorough stayer. 2nd last time, going for six-timer; has proven stamina and never better, so needs respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 -38%)Tommie Beau |
9/1(-38%) | (1) Tommie Beau 9/1, Stumbled around a bend and became outpaced, unsuited by the drop in trip when well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Cartmel last time. Returning from a break and may need the run. Won this in 2023 and best form in 2024 (fair 3rd in this) but should be seriously involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/1 +17%)Bagheera Ginge |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Bagheera Ginge 5/1, Jumped well, travelled smoothly and did it cosily when landing a handicap by 8 1/2l off 113 over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time. Trainer in form and enjoys making it; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and back in form. Dominated a four-runner race at Newton Abbot (3m2f, good) latest outing, returning to best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (20/1 +39%)Moodofthemoment |
20/1(+39%) | (6) Moodofthemoment 20/1, Unsuited by the drop in trip when fourth, beaten 16l in a handicap chase over 2m here last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and may need to drop a few more pounds but could be running into form. 5lb out of the handicap; opposable on most recent efforts and new trip asks a big question. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

BUMPY EVANS put an inauspicious round of jumping at Uttoxeter behind him when making all at Warwick last time out. That was the seven-year-old's fifth victory in his last six outings and he looks capable of defying a 9lb hike in the ratings. Fairlawn Flyer has also enjoyed a productive year and found only a subsequent winner too strong at Cartmel in July. However, Mickey Bowen's charge is sitting on a career-high mark and Newton Abbot winner Bagheera Ginge may give the selection most to think about.

The exuberant front-running style of Bumpy Evans might not be best suited to this longer trip. Preference is for FAIRLAWN FLYER.

1st (1) (4/6 +64%)Zanndabad |
4/6(+64%) | (1) Zanndabad 4/6, Ran about to recent Flat form when beaten 6l in a handicap over 1m5f at Leopardstown last time. Has shown useful and consistent form in maiden and novice hurdles up to 2m6f and handles any ground. Some good runs in defeat in big Flat handicaps; 0-9 as hurdler (four 2nds); down in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 -25%)Dickens |
5/2(-25%) | (2) Dickens 5/2, Won by 3 1/2l off 109 over 2m3f at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start, then ran to form when second beaten 5 1/2l off the same mark last time. Usually held up and progressive between 2m and 2m6f, suited by decent ground. C&D second 11 days ago after a last-flight mistake; still thriving for his current yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (14/1 -75%)Klitschko |
14/1(-75%) | (4) Klitschko 14/1, Outpaced on chase debut when comfortably held at Cartmel last time. Previously scored here in a 2m hurdle by about a length off 111 in March, stays 2m4f and reappears after a break. Won here (2m1f, good) in March but well beaten on both starts since; usually held up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (13/2 -63%)Park Annonciade |
13/2(-63%) | (3) Park Annonciade 13/2, Rallied gamely and was unlucky when back to form over a shorter trip, beaten a short head off 112 at Perth last time. Suited by 2m4f and good ground, with a trainer in form; returns from a break and may need the run. Short-headed at Perth (2m4f, good) in May for Stuart Crawford; sold £36,000 one week later. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ZANNDABAD has been competing in valuable races on the Flat since last seen over hurdles in July. He finished runner-up to the useful Hipop De Loire at Galway on that occasion and Tony Martin's charge could make a bold bid with Sean Bowen taking over in the saddle. Dickens arrives in fine fettle having notched up a brace of wins at Newton Abbot prior to finishing second over C&D latest. He's preferred to Perth runner-up Park Annonciade of the rest.

Zanndabad hugely catches the eye at this level but preference is for DICKENS who has shown he can get the job done.

1st (4) (10/11 -82%)Blue Topaz |
10/11(-82%) | (4) Blue Topaz 10/11, Produced a promising effort when fourth, beaten 5l, in a mares' bumper over 2m at Uttoxeter last time. Returns from a short break after a wind operation; a good-topped mare who looks a jumping prospect. Point winner who has already run quite well in a bumper; had wind op; appeals most. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +9%)William Yeats |
5/2(+9%) | (3) William Yeats 5/2, Showed promise when runner-up, beaten 1 1/2l, in an Irish point over 3m at Woodford on sole start. The market may provide the best guide to his chance. Bought for £32,000 soon after finishing second in a small-field British point in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 +0%)Art Dancer |
12/1(+0%) | (1) Art Dancer 12/1, Dragon Dancer gelding and half-brother to Lyreen Lad, a useful hurdler up to 3m. The market will be the best guide to his chance. Newcomer; stable gets the odd bumper winner and needs checking in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (16/1 0%)Ivan's Legacy |
16/1(0%) | (2) Ivan's Legacy 16/1, Showed fair ability on bumper debut when 17l fourth in a 2m maiden at Hexham first time out. Trainer in form, with minor promise shown and likely to progress. Pulled quite hard and showed up for a long way when 17l fourth in a Hexham bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (100/1 -150%)Serenarella |
100/1(-150%) | (5) Serenarella 100/1, Showed a moderate effort when well beaten in a mares' bumper over 2m at Southwell on debut. Appeared a touch unwilling but was probably green and should improve. 66-1 and trailed home last on good ground at Southwell in early June. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A winner between the flags, BLUE TOPAZ finished a respectable fourth in a bumper at Uttoxeter on her first start for Fergal O'Brien. The winner has since followed up in and the daughter of Blue Bresil can land this with improvement likely. Ivan's Legacy faded out of contention in the closing stages at Hexham on his racecourse debut but could feature if learning to settle, while Art Dancer is worth a second look ahead of his introduction.

Unless Art Dancer attracts significant support then this is best left to BLUE TOPAZ who has already performed well in a bumper.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
