(9) (100/1 +0%)Steel Soldier |
100/1(+0%) | (9) Steel Soldier 100/1, Poor hurdle debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. Off a long absence and looks one for further down the line. Well-beaten sixth on hurdles debut at Uttoxeter (2m4f; 125-1) 495 days ago; look elsewhere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LEAUMEC DE MEE is difficult to oppose. Representing the in-form Dan Skelton yard, the Kempton bumper runner-up made a pleasing hurdling bow at Fontwell on his reappearance when also taking second and can only improve from that effort. He looks to have been found a really winnable opening and gets a confident vote ahead of Eddie My Eagle and Born Like Me.

Dan Skelton's LEAUMEC DE MEE was runner-up on hurdles debut at Fontwell and ought to prove capable of going one better.

(4) (20/1 -25%)Perfectot |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Perfectot 20/1, Far too free and needed the run when finishing down the field in a bumper over 2m at Hexham last time. Hood goes on for the first time and she has a bit to find. Hexham comeback run a marked step backwards; switches to hurdles in newly applied headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MARHABA PRINCE should prove tough to beat in this maiden hurdle. A Wincanton bumper scorer on debut, Anthony Honeyball deemed his gelding good enough to run in Listed company at Cheltenham on his next start and he didn't disgrace himself. He wasn't at his best at Newton Abbot in June, but now goes hurdling and can be forgiven one poor run. Point-to-point winner Buddah Castle heads the list of dangers from Animato.

In a weak race, a slight chance is taken on the British point winner BUDDAH CASTLE on his first start under rules for Patrick Neville.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/4 +44%)Jamesieconn |
9/4(+44%) | (4) Jamesieconn 9/4, Well backed and returned to form when jumping much better to finish 5 1/2l third in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Kelso on his latest start. Effective at 3m+ and acts on good ground but can be inconsistent. All out at Doncaster (3m2f; post wind surgery) in Feb; 0-3 since; now with N. Richards.. |

(6) (5/1 +0%)Eveque |

(3) (13/2 -18%)Scottish King |
13/2(-18%) | (3) Scottish King 13/2, Had too much to do and was unsuited by the drop in trip when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and suited by good ground. Maiden under rules but on a good mark from hurdle form and likely to improve up in trip. Caught the eye on chasing debut at Uttoxeter (3m; runner-up) in October; 3m2f should suit.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (12/1 +25%)Monaghan Boy |
12/1(+25%) | (7) Monaghan Boy 12/1, Below form up in grade and needed the run when well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m at Wetherby latest. Effective up to 3m3f and acts on soft ground; has a bit to prove. C&D winner in February 2024; nothing significant since so he'd be a surprise winner.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

16/1(+27%) | (8) Iturgeon Du Breuil 16/1, Made mistakes and never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m at Hexham last time. Effective at 3m and acts on good ground; an exposed maiden. 21-race maiden; well behind Eveque (beaten 26l) at Hexham four weeks ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

He has to concede weight all round in this handicap chase, but UPFORDEBATE looks up to the task. He has won three of his last four starts and could hardly have been more impressive when bolting up over C&D three weeks ago. Eveque won at Hexham and is the main danger, ahead of the returning Jamesieconn, who has winning form over the distance at Doncaster.

The C&D scorer UPFORDEBATE (nap) is on a positive trajectory - 3-5 over fences - and potentially a bit better than this 0-100 level.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (10/1 +17%)Expelliarmus |
10/1(+17%) | (2) Expelliarmus 10/1, Needed the run on stable debut when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut in the ground. On a good mark based on Irish form. Did not land a significant blow from off the pace on first three stable starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (10/1 +44%)Ascension Day |
10/1(+44%) | (7) Ascension Day 10/1, May have found the ground too soft when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 +14%)Toby Two Scoops |
12/1(+14%) | (5) Toby Two Scoops 12/1, Outpaced but improved for debut experience when 6 1/4l third in a juvenile hurdle here last time. Effective from 12f to 16f and acts on soft and good ground. Maiden on the Flat, opening mark over hurdles demands more. Third in two five-runner juvenile hurdles this autumn; now makes his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (18/1 +0%)Balranald |
18/1(+0%) | (6) Balranald 18/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Newcastle latest. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and suited by a sound surface. Generally consistent until that run. Good second over 2m4f here in September but well held since; younger rivals preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NO MORE BOLERO and Tanking Along are both seeking doubles, but the former was a most impressive winner at Ludlow last time. Nathan Howie's 3lb claim helps negate some of his penalty for that victory and if in similar form, he could prove hard to beat. Toby Two Scoops is still a maiden after 11 starts across both codes but makes his first outing in a handicap in this sphere and might have a squeak.

8lb ahead of the handicapper after his easy win at Ludlow, NO MORE BOLERO gets the vote in the hope he handles today's slower ground.

13/2(-18%) | (3) Lathan 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Wetherby last time. Returning from a long layoff and could figure if back to best but easy ground a worry. 1-7 over hurdles for Rebecca Menzies; makes stable/chase debut after 252-day absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/1 +36%)Uncle Al |
9/1(+36%) | (5) Uncle Al 9/1, Made mistakes and failed to build on debut effort when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Market Rasen last time. (1) (9/1 -13%)Sam's Falcon |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Sam's Falcon 9/1, Far too keen and below form when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle over 2m1f at Carlisle last time. Returning from a long layoff and has a bit to find. Very unexposed 6yo; makes chase/handicap debut after 355-day absence; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (33/1 -18%)Kuriosa |
33/1(-18%) | (4) Kuriosa 33/1, Ran poorly when well beaten in a conditions race over 3m at Hutton Rudby last time. Returning from a long layoff; tongue-tie fitted for the first time and has a lot to find. Struggled in maiden points last season and has lots to prove on chasing debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Successful over hurdles at Kelso in September, HUIT REFLETS finished a creditable third back over the larger obstacles here last month. This extra distance holds no fears for Mark Walford's charge and another strong bid looks on the cards. Only 3lb higher than when scoring at Hexham in May, Cave Hill may improve with cheekpieces added to his usual tongue-tie, while Bo Cruz is worthy of a second look on his chasing bow.

Mark Walford's HUIT REFLETS followed his hurdle win in September with a clear third over fences here 11 days ago and gets the nod.

2/1(+27%) | (2) Tread Softly Now 2/1, Travelled strongly and did it cosily when winning a handicap by 5l off 87 over 2m4f at Ayr last time; effective from 2m to 2m4f, acts on soft and good ground; progressive of late. Game winner last November but absent since down-the-field run just under a year ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (22/1 +21%)Dartmhor |
22/1(+21%) | (6) Dartmhor 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Newcastle last time; returning from a long layoff; yet to show any worthwhile form or prove capable off even this basement mark. Still unexposed but absent since tailed off on handicap debut in March. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BE THE DIFFERENCE carried top weight to victory in a conditionals' race at Bangor six days ago. He escapes a penalty for that success and the hat-trick looks a distinct possibility with conditions underfoot remaining in his favour. Tread Softly Now won nicely at Ayr last month, but she has a 9lb hike to contend with and Livano Bello may prove a bigger threat off his current mark.

Be The Difference is opposed with thriving mare TREAD SOFTLY NOW, who was eased down when winning at Ayr last month.

(4) (2/1 -7%)Grazeon Sunshine |
2/1(-7%) | (4) Grazeon Sunshine 2/1, Finished strongly on a very promising debut when runner-up, beaten 1/2l in a maiden bumper at Newcastle on his only start. Effective over 2m and acts on good ground. Should progress a little for that initial experience. Out of a fair hurdler; kept on well for close second in bunch finish at Newcastle. |

(6) (33/1 -18%)R Krista |
33/1(-18%) | (6) R Krista 33/1, Outpaced and modest on debut when well beaten in a bumper over 2m at Hexham on her only start. Has plenty to prove. Well beaten on debut at Hexham in June. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dan Skelton sent out last year's winner and TRIGG can repeat the dose. The son of Getaway made a winning debut when scoring readily at Worcester in September and Heidi Palin's claim negates a 7lb penalty. Grazeon Sunshine finished strongly to grab the runners-up spot at Newcastle in October. He could give the selection the most to think about with Brian Hughes taking over the reins, while Art Dancer is pick of the remainder.

Worcester winner Trigg is not taken on with any confidence but Newcastle second GRAZEON SUNSHINE might be the answer.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
