16:30 Southwell (Class 5) 4f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having won at Wolverhampton in Ma, Jeans Maite merits consideration on her return to action. The veteran has a respectable record fresh and isn't taken lightly, but POPULAR DREAM is more compelling. Derek Shaw's charge found only a subsequent winner too strong over C&D 19 days ago and a 1lb ease in the ratings may prove lenient. Reopposing fourth Thankuappreciate is also worth a second look, along with Castan.

The vote goes to CASTAN (nap) who is proven under these conditions and has dropped 1lb below his last winning mark.

17:00 Southwell (Class 6) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GOOD SHOT returned to form with a respectable second at Wolverhampton in November and she ticks plenty of the right boxes dropping into a classified contest. Although the four-year-old hasn't proved the most consistent, she possesses the ability to open her account at this level. Celebrating Ethel and Stintino Sunset are others arriving from handicap company and shouldn't be underestimated in these calmer waters.

Promising last time out, GOOD SHOT gets the vote. Knight Of Magic, Stintino Sunset and Wadacre Moriarty are also considered.

17:30 Southwell (Class 6) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Stable debutant Jack Andrea wasn't disgraced on his final few outings for Robert Eddery and market support would be interesting on his return from a 133-day absence. However, it could be worth taking a chance on FOINIX, who has raced in blinkers for three of his four victories and the refitting of them may prove fruitful. Ignition and West Wickham are others to consider at this low level.

In such a weak contest, the relatively lightly raced 4yo HIGHFIELD COMRADE has to make some appeal.

18:00 Southwell (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having overcome an uncompromising position to open her account at Kempton 11 months ago, an opening mark of 72 could prove to be workable for SELENIC. The daughter of Sea The Moon is bred to relish these extra three furlongs and she could prove tough to beat if returning in the same heart. Caramay arrives on the back of a decent third at Wolverhampton and is feared most, ahead of fellow in-form rival Live Each Day.

The key horse is SELENIC, who is bred for middle distances such as this but has been confined to two runs over 1m early last year.

18:30 Southwell (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Charlatan relished the extra yardage when scoring over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton recently and he must enter calculations off just 2lb higher in the handicap. However, SHOWMEDEMONEY just edged out a subsequent winner at Newcastle three weeks ago and he may prove to be slightly better treated off the same rise in the ratings. R P Mcmurphy has proved consistent since entering handicap company and is also of interest in first-time cheekpieces.

There looks to be plenty of pace in this contest and a well-run race would suit last year's winner CHARLATAN.

19:00 Southwell (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

IMOLA found a drop in trip against her when finishing a never-nearer third over 7f here three days ago and a return to 1m is likely to aid her cause. Joey Ramsden's mare has plenty going for her off an unaltered mark and a belated first career victory may be on the cards. Amarachi's mark continues to drop slowly and she's a potential improver stepping up in distance, with Poke The Bear expected to be the mix once more.

Although 0-21, IMOLA has been placed in six of her last seven completed starts including four here. This could be her day.

19:30 Southwell (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having filled the runner-up spot on both starts to date, Seeing Stars is likely to give another good account at this level. William Knight's filly is sure to be at the forefront of the market, but she may have to play second fiddle once more behind the returning ELLUSIVE BUTTERFLY. The daughter of Invincible Army was last seen finishing third in a Listed event at Deauville in July and a similar performance could see her collecting. Newcomer Mac's Wee Sister is a potential fly in the ointment and market support must be noted.

Ellusive Butterfly is a fascinating contender, but SEEING STARS has good recent form having twice finished second last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DARTREY has proved a revelation since underdoing a gelding procedure and there is every chance that he can complete a hat-trick. A 6lb penalty for his latest victory over 7f here shouldn't forestall his progress and he's taken to get the better of She's Divine. Mark Loughnane's filly has a string of runner-up efforts to her name and an opening mark of 69 appears workable. Flash Rascal is the pick of the remainder.

This revolves around DARTREY who bids to win for third time around here in the space of five days.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

I NEED YOUR LOVE looked close to his best when finishing a close-up third over C&D 18 days ago and this looks a suitable opportunity for some compensation. The four-year-old races off an unchanged mark and he looks the percentage call. Holbache is 1lb lower than his Newcastle third in late October and cannot be dismissed, while Camera Shy's latest fourth over track and trip was a step in the right direction.

The choice is I NEED YOUR LOVE who ran well when third over C&D last time and remains unexposed on the AW.
