ROARING RALPH gained compensation for two runner-up efforts at this venue when landing the spoils over C&D last time out. The six-year-old scored with enough in hand to suggest that a 3lb higher mark is surmountable and he edges the vote over Samra Star. Linda Perratt's mare has been nudged up just 2lb for her recent Wolverhampton victory and another bold bid is forecast. Asian Journey is the pick of the remainder.

The most consistent of late has been ROARING RALPH and if he can maintain that level of form, he can record back-to-back C&D wins

Eagles Whistle proved a different proposition when winning on all three outings for Daragh Bourke and she's not easily dismissed reverting to handicap company on her stable debut. However, an official rating of 61 demands a career best from the six-year-old, which may leave the door open for MARRY THE NIGHT. Tim Easterby's inmate arrives on the back of a respectable fifth in a class 5 and these calmer waters may prove fruitful. No Knee Never is also worth a second look.

This looks to be between EAGLES WHISTLE and Create, with the former just preferred with her new trainer's string in good form.

With recent solid form thin on the ground, this could prove a suitable opportunity for SPIRIT OF BOWLAND to get back on the scoresheet. The veteran likely found a return to 7f on the sharp side when finishing fifth here recently and he makes plenty of appeal reverting to a mile. Consistency isn't Annalee Lass' forte, but she's capable at this level if things fall right. Peter Niven's mare is feared most, ahead of the reappearing Fifty Sent.

Annalee Lass may be able to bounce back from a lesser effort last time and is second choice behind MR SLICKER.

It won't be long before HOMER STOKES wins a race of this nature if recent second-placed efforts both here and at Wolverhampton are anything to go by. Going up to 1m should help and the eight-year-old gets a confident vote. Dash Power had been in good form prior to a mediocre effort at Wolverhampton most recently and is noted along with Headshot.

Hard to warm to many of these and HOMER STOKES looks to have been found a good opportunity to register a first win at the trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

KARAKULA DANCER is really progressive and won smoothly at Kempton last time to make it two from three this year. He remains unexposed on all-weather and over this trip and another bold showing looks assured. Crimson Rambler might have to settle for another supporting role and similar sentiments apply to Lexington Express, who showed improved form at Wolverhampton to take third.

Crimson Rambler looks worth a try over this trip but KARAKULA DANCER (nap) is taken to follow up his Kempton success.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A competitive sprint for punters to sort out and it might pay to side with FIVETHOUSANDTOONE, who looked back to something like his best when a close-up third at Newcastle last time. Spring Is Sprung won readily over track and trip and must be taken seriously, but a bigger danger is Azure Angel assuming she's ready to roll after a break.

Spring Is Sprung holds solid claims and is second choice behind AZURE ANGEL who is taken to add to her good record on the AW.

Having looked a smart prospect when making a winning debut at Newbury, THAT'S AMORE was far from disgraced when finishing fourth in last year's Cheshire Oaks. The four-year-old makes plenty of appeal in these calmer waters and is taken to make a winning return, at the main expense of Jupiter Ammon. Andrew Balding's gelding has some respectable handicap form to his name and a current rating of 82 suggests he shouldn't be far away. Laravie is most compelling of the others.

That's Amore looked a nice prospect when winning on her debut in 2024 but JUPITER AMMON is preferred with his yard in good form.

11/4(+8%) | (2) Spirit Of Jura 11/4, Ran to form comfortably held in a handicap at Nottingham last time; enjoys making it; returning from a break; significant jockey booking; effective 11-14f on a sound surface; had been progressing, handicapper looks in charge. (6) (10/1 -25%)Nuptown Girl |
10/1(-25%) | (6) Nuptown Girl 10/1, Returned to form up in trip when second beaten 2 1/4l in a novice at Lingfield latest; effective 8-10f, acts on a sound surface; tactical excuses of late and mark looks interesting. Runner-up in two of her three starts for this yard; claims now returned to h'cap company. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having scored with something in hand at Kempton last month, there could be more to come from CARAMAY. A 5lb rise in the ratings looks workable for the six-year-old and a ninth career victory might be on the horizon. Bint Al Daar appreciated a return to class 5 company when a close second at Chelmsford and she shouldn't be far away, along with Kate O'Riley.

Nuptown Girl is interesting returned to handicap company but KATE O'RILEY is the selection after an eyecatching Lingfield run.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Tarbat Ness continued his progression when securing a fifth career victory at Newcastle last month. The seven-year-old isn't easily dismissed in his current vein of form, but a 7lb higher mark does demand another career best. With that in mind, the down-in-grade HATYSA is slightly more appealing after hitting the frame in a class 3 at Newcastle recently. Appier and Barenboim are other live threats.

Tarbat Ness arrives in rude health. However, the hope is that HATYSA can strip fitter than at Newcastle, relishing this 2m2f trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
