The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The in-form King Of York hasn't finished outside the top two in any of his last five starts, winning once, and he is likely to be thereabouts again. Soames Forsyte is a player based on his surprise C&D triumph two outings ago, but the vote goes to SPIRIT CATCHER. The seven-year-old takes a drop to this sort of grade for the first time and could take advantage of a career-low rating.

Scott Dixon's KING OF YORK has returned in good form and can quickly resume winning ways on the back of a very good second here

(6) (200/1 -100%)Miss Potomac |
200/1(-100%) | (6) Miss Potomac 200/1, Below debut form up in trip when beaten 8 1/2l in a maiden at Beverley last time; looks in need of more time and type to do better handicapping. Modest form in two runs last summer; up in trip but significant improvement is required. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Always Happy's dam is a half-sister to 2014 Irish Oaks winner Bracelet and the daughter of Siyouni warrants a market check, but experience is on the side of CITY QUEEN and that could prove vital. Charlie Appleby's filly progressed from her introduction when filling the runner-up spot at Wolverhampton and can take another step forward to strike. Izz'nt She Hot is far from out of it either.

City Queen has the best form but she hung left up the straight on her return and HADDIAH may progress past her.

8/1(-78%) | (1) Swinging London 8/1, Just about to form when fourth beaten 14l in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle latest; trainer in form; usually held up; effective 12-14f on any ground; respected back on the Flat. Dual C&D winner who comes here in good form from spell hurdling; very much one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (14/1 +30%)Educate |
14/1(+30%) | (4) Educate 14/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off a 1lb higher mark here last time; suited by 10-16f, acts on good but most of form on AW; mark slowly easing. Course winner; arrives in decent form for current handler; possibilities off easing mark. |

It might be worth taking another chance on DOLLAR'S DREAM, who was beaten into second when odds-on over track and trip in January and is now 2lb higher. That was just his third start in handicap company and there should be more to come. Clansman hasn't been disgraced the last twice, finishing third and second at Newcastle, and he should remain competitive. Swinging London is another to note.

Philip Kirby's DOLLAR'S DREAM has been shaping up very well since sent handicapping and he is taken to gain a deserved maiden win here

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (13/2 -18%)Lucius Aurelius |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (40/1 -21%)Filly's Last Lady |
40/1(-21%) | (10) Filly's Last Lady 40/1, Below form beaten 5l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; wide draw; effective 5/6f on a sound surface; bounce back needed. Won first two h'caps in 2025 before progress stalled; still early days but absent 5 months. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The handicapper appears to have caught up with Shalaa Asker, who was only fifth when on a hat-trick at Chelmsford, although he wasn't beaten all that far and can't be written off just yet. The application of a visor worked wonders for Toomuchforme at Newcastle and she is a contender if backing that effort for third up. Birkenhead usually runs his race, but I NEED YOUR LOVE has found only one too strong on each of his last two outings and deserves to get his head back in front.

A wide-open sprint. LUCIUS AURELIUS has it in him to win a race like this and he is tentatively preferred to Toomuchforme.

Comfortably made all at Kempton in January; low mileage and big player now going h'capping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (11/2 -10%)Charlie's Choice |
11/2(-10%) | (4) Charlie's Choice 11/2, Strong at finish down in trip when landing a handicap by a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Lingfield last time; effective 10-13f, acts on good to firm and AW; respected after small rise. On hat-trick after 1m5f/1m4f victories at Lingfield last month; up 3lb but a likely player. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (20/1 -122%)Crackalackin |
20/1(-122%) | (6) Crackalackin 20/1, Bit below form, maybe didn't stay when fourth beaten 8l in a handicap at Chelmsford latest; blinkers first time; effective 10-12f, suited by AW; bounce back needed. Fading fourth over 1m6f at Chelmsford latest; not discounted stepping back in trip here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Charlie's Choice has struck up a great partnership with Taryn Langley and they combined to win for the third time in 2026 when completing a Lingfield brace. A further 3lb rise isn't as much of a concern in his hat-trick bid as the untapped potential of CALIBAN, with Andrew Balding's gelding getting off the mark with the minimum of fuss at Kempton. That was just his fourth competitive appearance and he can follow up on this handicap bow. Sir William is worth a look on his first start for the Charlie Johnston team.

It's hard to ignore the claims of the improving CALIBAN (nap) who can add to his stylish Kempton novice victory now he's handicapping.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 -78%)Captain Pickles |
8/1(-78%) | (2) Captain Pickles 8/1, Below form up in trip beaten 5 1/4l in a classified race at Wolverhampton last time; in good form prior; usually held up; effective 6-9f, acts on AW; bounce back needed. Won a similar race at Wolverhampton in January (8.6f); too free upped in trip latest. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (40/1 +20%)Morning Suit |
40/1(+20%) | (8) Morning Suit 40/1, Keen and didn't stay beaten 6l in a classified race at Newcastle last time; returning from long layoff; not proven beyond 6f; drop in trip a plus. On the downgrade for a while and returns from a year off with plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (50/1 -52%)Mighty Power |
50/1(-52%) | (7) Mighty Power 50/1, Bit keen up in trip, another poor effort beaten 9 1/2l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; best at 6f on AW; needs more. Regressive 8yo; recent efforts don't suggest he is the answer tonight. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Homer Stokes built on a pair of seconds to justify favouritism over a mile here last week and holds an obvious chance, but RING OF GOLD gets the vote. The nine-year-old finished a short head in front of Mr Slicker when occupying the runner-up berth in this grade over track and trip on his latest outing and can confirm that form to go one better. Embarked is another to consider.

Ring Of Gold and Homer Stokes arrive in good form but ELETTARIA may be the answer.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ruby Red Gove sprung a surprise when making a winning handicap debut at Wolverhampton, but she will need to prove as effective against the boys and FARANDAWAY gets the nod. Grant Tuer's gelding made the frame over track and trip last month and the assessor may have been kind to leave his mark alone. Three-time C&D scorer Jesse Luc completes the shortlist.

There are races to be won with DC COGENT off this mark and he is marginally preferred to Jesse Luc and Velvet Skies.
Ths is the racecard key.
