14:55 Southwell (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Arduis Invicta finished second last time out at Nottingham and that form appears to be the best on offer by some margin. She can go close, but a chance is taken on the Salisbury fifth PERFECT LOCATION, who represents the in-form Tom Ward yard. Beaten four lengths at big odds, she kept on well once the penny dropped and looked the sort to learn plenty from the experience. Fille Imbassee is the most interesting newcomer.

The signs look good for PERFECT LOCATION and she's an interesting alternative to form pick Arduis Invicta.

15:30 Southwell (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sovereign Bright was only beaten three-quarters of a length in a better race at Doncaster on her second start and looks to be the one to beat on that form, but AZLEET gets the narrowest of votes. Second on both her starts to date, she may make it third-time lucky. Mossvale Diva was second on her debut at Musselburgh and is the obvious option for the minor placing.

Musselburgh runner-up MOSSVALE DIVA is taken to go one better. Solid Azleet is second choice.

16:05 Southwell (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Impartiality couldn't quicken up from off the pace at Carlisle last time, but that was on soft ground and he may do better on this surface. Loch Leven ought to improve after finishing second on her first start since October and she can go well despite an added 2lb from the handicapper, but STATEIRA is preferred. Andrew Balding's filly won over seven furlongs on debut here and had no luck in running when fourth at Kempton last month.

A warm 3yo handicap in which the vote goes to IMMEDIATE EFFECT, ahead of Loch Leven, Tremolo and Stateira.

16:40 Southwell (Class 3) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The progressive TRALEE GIRL was second in her search for a four-timer at Ffos Las a fortnight ago. Michael Bell's filly won't be inconvenienced by a return to the all-weather and may well resume her improvement, especially given a handy draw. Miss Dolly Rocker struck at Goodwood most recently and is respected from 3lb higher, while others to note include handicap-debutant Quebella and Windsor-victor Wisper.

The more lightly raced 3yos, most of whom have not yet raced beyond 1m2f, may well provide the winner and QUEBELLA gets the vote.

17:15 Southwell (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MISS JUSTICE has filled the runner-up spot on each of her last three starts, with the latest of those coming in a handicap at Sandown. She kept on well over 1m2f that day, so it would come as no great surprise were improvement to come now upped further in trip. Lalique ran well under a penalty at Kempton in May and she remains of interest with cheekpieces fitted for the first time. Alibey wasn't beaten far into third at Haydock last time out and is most appealing of the remainder.

Alibey and Lalique have shown they stay 1m4f but the upped-in-trip 4yo MISS JUSTICE has better form.

17:45 Southwell (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A small but open contest in which preference is for BURJ ZABEEL. The gelded son of Kingman was able to build on a couple of promising efforts to score at Haydock last time and now pitched into handicaps from what looks a workable mark, he could repeat the dose. Golden Handshake didn't have to come out of first gear to break his maiden tag at Lingfield recently and William Haggas' charge is unlikely to be far away along with Tuscan Star, who will find this less taxing than the 0-95 he contested at York last time.

It's not an easy choice but GOLDEN HANDSHAKE, The Pouncing Lion and Burj Zabeel are preferred in that order.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

FLUORESCENCE won two of her three starts over 6f but lost her unbeaten record when second at Ripon most recently, where she led at the furlong pole before weakening close home. Tactically adaptable, she may even try to make all over this shorter trip wearing a first-time tongue-tie. Showering is another who could be better suited by the trip after his ninth at York and he could go close under Tom Marquand, while Amestris showed signs of a return to her best when second at Haydock and is another to consider.

Returned to this C&D with new headgear applied, BROSAY may be the answer. Fluorescence and Showering complete the shortlist.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Letmebetheboss is looking for a hat-trick after wins at Southwell and Kempton but an added 7lb from the handicapper means he may have to settle for a place here. Flamingo Rose won easily enough on her first start in over three years at Lingfield earlier in the week and she can also go well carrying a 4lb penalty, but CAPTAIN POTTER gets the nod. The five-year-old gelding won by an eased down six lengths over 2m2f at Pontefract three weeks ago and although upped 6lb for that, he drops in class looking to follow up.

There may be dangers lurking but LETMEBETHEBOSS (nap) left a strong impression with the way he won his last two outings.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
