1st (4) (2/5 +56%)All Inn Hand |
2/5(+56%) | (4) All Inn Hand 2/5, Below par 8 1/2l third in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Chepstow most recent run; previous handicap run sets standard; good ground suits; can get off the mark Placed C&D maiden in October; returns here after two decent efforts in Chepstow handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/1 -20%)Blue In The West |
9/1(-20%) | (2) Blue In The West 9/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Tramore latest; generally out of form; wants easier ground; hard to recommend on stable debut 0-11 over hurdles; best form puts him in the mix here but he's tricky to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/3 -167%)Woodythewoodpecker |
10/3(-167%) | (3) Woodythewoodpecker 10/3, Ideally suited by trip fourth beaten 6l in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las latest; steadily progressing; longer trip should suit; feasible threat Struggled on first two hurdling starts but recent Ffos Las fourth was much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (80/1 -142%)Dusky Spyglass |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Dusky Spyglass 80/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Fontwell last time; good ground suits plenty more needed Not disgraced on recent stable debut but needs significant further improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (22/1 +78%)Batsman |
22/1(+78%) | (1) Batsman 22/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m3f at Doncaster latest; second run after wind op; not proven trip; off a short-break; yet to match form of point win; all to do Won a point bumper in early 2024 but has struggled on all three starts under rules. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALL INN HAND has shown some improvement with a tongue-tie added the last twice and the addition of cheekpieces could enable the five-year-old to notch a first win. Woodythewoodpecker, who would be conceding weight all round if this was a handicap, is an obvious danger based on the official ratings. Dusky Spyglass won't need to improve by much to fend off the others and finish third.

This seems likely to be fought out by the two Welsh runners. ALL INN HAND may handle the ground better than Woodythewoodpecker.

1st (2) (10/3 -33%)Portobello Girl |
10/3(-33%) | (2) Portobello Girl 10/3, In need of the experience second beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap hurdle over 2m7f at Uttoxeter latest; step up in trip could suit; contender Low-mileage 6yo; suited by step up to 2m7f when keeping-on second at Uttoxeter this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 +50%)All Under Control |
5/1(+50%) | (5) All Under Control 5/1, Ran to form beaten 10l in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las last time; inconsistent; step back up in trip a plus; touch more required Battled well for soft-ground win in December but well below that form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/10 -79%)Summerleaze |
11/10(-79%) | (1) Summerleaze 11/10, Well treated at weights when landing a handicap by 14l off 92 over 2m6f here last time completing hat trick; trainer in form; goes well here; obvious claims if turned out quickly 3-3 and a much improved mare for new stable this spring; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/1 +56%)Shibuya Song |
7/1(+56%) | (4) Shibuya Song 7/1, Raced freely 37l third in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Huntingdon most recent run; step up in trip a big plus; form of autumn win working out well; very interesting Recorded 33-1 win at Worcester in September but looked laboured on subsequent outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/1 +61%)Bright Sunbird |
11/1(+61%) | (3) Bright Sunbird 11/1, Possibly bounced fourth beaten 11l in a handicap hurdle over 3m at Chepstow latest; fair mark on old form; up in trip; squeak Not at best for new stable this spring but has a good-ground C&D win on her record. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With the step back up in trip not expected to pose a problem, SUMMERLEAZE appears well placed to supplement her facile course win from 10 days ago. Portobello Girl gets 10lb from the selection and should be capable of putting up a fight on these terms. However, as a previous course and distance winner, Bright Sunbird could be a more potent threat with her stamina more proven.

It's hard to oppose SUMMERLEAZE, who has been transformed by Olly Murphy in recent months and can extend her winning streak.

1st (4) (13/8 +68%)Baskerville |
13/8(+68%) | (4) Baskerville 13/8, Did not get a clear run beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Warwick last time; that strong form; should come on for the outing; big chance off lenient opening chase mark Just 1-8 over hurdles but has ground to suit on chasing debut; no surprise if he features. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/2 -22%)Nickelforce |
11/2(-22%) | (3) Nickelforce 11/2, Seemed to be on stiff mark comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Doncaster last time; up in trip; lot to find and still looks too high in weights Off since below-par run in December but made very good start to chasing career in autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/2 -200%)Almazhar Garde |
15/2(-200%) | (1) Almazhar Garde 15/2, Travelled well when landing a handicap by 5 1/2l off 112 over 3m at Ludlow last time; had run of race at sharp track that day; remains well treated on old form; contender Made all off much reduced mark last month; 5lb rise is manageable if he's in the same mood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (3/1 -33%)Climbing |
3/1(-33%) | (5) Climbing 3/1, Ideally suited by trip beaten a neck off 108 over 3m1f at Hereford last time; looked unlucky that day; trainer in form; usually held up; drop down in trip a positive; threat Ran big race in defeat at Hereford last month and is also suited by this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/1 +50%)Ballybegg |
4/1(+50%) | (2) Ballybegg 4/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Warwick last time; enjoys making it; prefers easier ground; down in weights but stamina to prove up in trip Went close over hurdles two runs ago but this inconsistent 10yo seems best on slow ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ALMAZHAR GARDE enjoyed an uncontested lead and wasn't for catching at Ludlow on his most recent start. A 5lb rise for that performance could prove to be lenient and the Charlie Longsdon-trained gelding could again be difficult to reel in. Climbing stays well and is a notable danger, while Nickelforce is handicapped to be winning races and is another to seriously consider.

Preference is for CLIMBING (nap), who is very effective at this track and who was a long way clear of the third when second last month.

6/4(+25%) | (1) Tactical Affair 6/4, Ran to form second beaten 7l in a handicap chase at Worcester latest; good mark on winter form; contender Kept on well to snatch second at Worcester recently but others here appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (6/1 +25%)Rory's Story |
6/1(+25%) | (6) Rory's Story 6/1, Travelled well 11l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Kelso most recent run; should come on for the run; inconsistent in this sphere but not fully exposed; bit more needed Placed over fences last spring and returned from layoff with decent hurdle run this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (20/1 +39%)Boom Boom |
20/1(+39%) | (5) Boom Boom 20/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m at Warwick latest where needed run; appears regressive Pulled up last month and now 0-9 over fences; has too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/4 +0%)Royal Max |
11/4(+0%) | (4) Royal Max 11/4, Benefited from positive ride scored by 3 1/4l off 74 over 2m at Sedgefield penultimate start; third beaten 2l off 79 last time where well placed to challenge; chance Won at Sedgefield last month, after a break, and placed off today's mark soon afterwards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/2 -17%)Cawthorne Cracker |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Cawthorne Cracker 7/2, Probably needed race 11l third in a handicap chase over 2m at Sedgefield most recent run; did best of those forcing pace that day; good ground suits; fair claims with improvement likely Ran well for a long way on last month's chasing debut and might come on for the outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (66/1 +18%)Mawlood |
66/1(+18%) | (8) Mawlood 66/1, Well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Warwick latest where jumped poorly; not proven trip; hard to recommend in current form 8lb out of the weights today, and it's a good while since he showed any worthwhile form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (66/1 -65%)Whyzzat |
66/1(-65%) | (7) Whyzzat 66/1, Raced freely down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Uttoxeter most recent; probably needed run that day; generally out of form; not proven trip; lot to find at present Out of form over fences last spring and also well beaten over hurdles this month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Tactical Affair returned to form with a respectable second at Worcester 12 days ago and he must enter calculations off the same mark. However, the six-year-old will need to cut out the jumping errors and preference is for ROYAL MAX. The son of Maxios supplemented his breakthrough victory at Sedgefield with a decent third at Market Rasen and a similar performance may suffice. Chase debutant Culligran is also noted.

Royal Max was ahead of CAWTHORNE CRACKER at Sedgefield last month but the latter might turn the tables here.

1st (1) (2/1 +43%)Irish Lullaby |
2/1(+43%) | (1) Irish Lullaby 2/1, Probably needed race 6l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Kelso most recent run; good mark on 2024 hurdle form; fair claims if stamina holds up on chase debut Useful on the Flat and a dual hurdle winner; not bred for fences but trip/ground will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/2 -44%)Fancy Stuff |
13/2(-44%) | (2) Fancy Stuff 13/2, Won this last year; ran well to a point comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m1f here last time; should come on for that; top jockey retained; in the mix in open race Won this race easily under Sean Bowen last year; will be dangerous if back on song. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/4 -100%)Annie Nail |
11/4(-100%) | (5) Annie Nail 11/4, Well backed when landing a handicap by 11l off 74 over 2m5f at Fakenham last time; usually held up; chance but bit more needed up 7lb in better race Won easily at Fakenham this month, her second stable start; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +0%)Kate Of The Lodge |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Kate Of The Lodge 4/1, Looked to want further 11l third in a handicap chase over 2m at Taunton most recent run; that form working out very well; second run after wind op; big player with improvement likely up in trip Made quite promising chase/handicap debut over 2m; this longer trip ought to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (5/1 +58%)Miss Applejack |
5/1(+58%) | (4) Miss Applejack 5/1, Below par comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m5f at Huntingdon last time where let down by jumping; fair mark on best flat and hurdle form; contender on chase debut Ran quite well over hurdles last month but others have more pressing claims here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ANNIE NAIL justified strong support in the market when scoring on just her second outing for the Tracey Leeson yard. The eight-year-old scored with plenty in hand and a 7lb higher mark could prove to be on the lenient side. Having returned to form with a solid third over hurdles at Kelso last month, chase debutant Irish Lullaby may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Kate Of The Lodge.

Last year's winner FANCY STUFF travelled well for a long way on her recent reappearance and could be primed to defend her crown today.

9/2(+44%) | (1) Eddie My Eagle 9/2, Runner-up beaten 4l in a conditions race at Bitterley only start; outside chance but bit to find with Lord Cauvelliere on point form 4l second to Lord Cauvelliere in good-ground point bumper last month; now with new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (3/1 +67%)Our Rollo |
3/1(+67%) | (7) Our Rollo 3/1, 16,500 euros Jet Away gelding; half-brother to Patanita, fair at 20f; yard in good form; market should reveal more Half-brother to a C&D bumper winner; arguably the most interesting newcomer. |

7/2(-75%) | (10) Windsor Blue 7/2, Third beaten 3 1/4l in a bumper at Hereford debut beaten by previous winner; sets standard on rules form; go close Made quite promising debut when third of six at Hereford last month; of strong interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (5/1 +29%)Just Johnny |
5/1(+29%) | (5) Just Johnny 5/1, Well beaten in a juvenile bumper over 2m1f at Aintree only start; top jockey booked but significant improvement required Beaten about 18l on debut at Aintree in November but this race looks much easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (16/1 +36%)My Lovely Horse |
16/1(+36%) | (9) My Lovely Horse 16/1, 8 1/4l third in a conditions race at Maisemore Park most recent run; off a short-break; all to do on rules debut Beaten just over 8l in two point bumpers in March; probably needs improvement here. |

7th (3) (16/1 +0%)Bus Stop |
16/1(+0%) | (3) Bus Stop 16/1, 18,000 euros Vadamos gelding; stable recently snapped long losing run here; market can guide 18,000euros foal; dam placed over hurdles; worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (11/1 -100%)Maid Of Mist |
11/1(-100%) | (8) Maid Of Mist 11/1, Mahler mare; yard had recent rules winner; good jockey booked; market best guide Has right type of pedigree for a bumper and probably doesn't need to be anything special. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (16/1 +43%)Foxburrows Friend |
16/1(+43%) | (4) Foxburrows Friend 16/1, Jack Hobbs gelding; half-brother to Lively Livvy, very useful at 16f; yard in good form; worth following in the betting Third foal from a dam of little account; stable not prolific in bumpers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (80/1 -60%)Pay Dirt |
80/1(-60%) | (2) Pay Dirt 80/1, Jack Hobbs gelding; stable without a winner this year; best watched 100-1 when withdrawn (got loose) just before last month's intended debut at Hereford. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WINDSOR BLUE offered plenty to work with on her third-placed debut at Hereford last month and that experience could prove crucial. The sharp nature of this track should play to the Blue Bresil filly's strengths and she may be able to repel Rules debutants Lord Cauvelliere and Eddie My Eagle. The former got the better of the latter when scoring between the flags 43 days ago and the four-year-old may give the selection most to think about.

The 4yo colt JUST JOHNNY travelled sweetly for a long way in what was probably a much stronger race than this at Aintree in the autumn.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
