A drop back in distance proved no issue for BARTON SNOW when running out a ready winner over an extended 2m at Cheltenham and a hat-trick under Rules could be on the cards. The eight-year-old was a cosy scorer over 2m5f here in March and he's fancied to repel chief rivals Glancing Hill and Whats The Solution. The pair have both been in fine fettle between the flags and neither is taken lightly.

All six runners arrive in good form but BARTON SNOW ran to a pretty useful level when winning here and at Cheltenham this year.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Although FAMOUS CLERMONT could only muster a 19th-placed finish in the Foxhunters' at Aintree, a subsequent double between the flags shows that he's in good heart. The 10-year-old appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to regain the winning thread under Rules for the first time since landing this race 12 months ago, with the application of cheekpieces a positive move. The biggest threat is likely to emerge from Fairly Famous, who arrives on the back of a respectable third at Cheltenham. Somptueux is next best.

The vote goes to last year's runner-up IMPERIAL ESPRIT, who again ran well here last month.

Having relished the combination of a stiffer test of stamina and return to fences when landing the spoils at Cheltenham earlier this month, Hung Jury must warrant respect in his follow-up bid. However, KINGS JET was quite taking when making a winning Rules debut at Down Royal and the five-year-old's unexposed profile is slightly more compelling. The Rebel County and Jeux D'eau are also worth a second look.

Effectively only eight weeks into his season, THE REBEL COUNTY can gain Ireland another John Corbet win ahead of I'm Spellbound.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Aintree Foxhunters' hero Gracchus De Balme hit the woodwork when attempting to follow up at Cheltenham but, although respected, stamina has to be a slight concern. Previous winner Law Of Gold was pulled up in this 12 months ago but does have stamina in abundance, for all that is is JEFFERY'S CROSS who gets the verdict. An excellent second at Cheltenham on only his second start in a hunter chase, Dan Skelton's charge can progress further and take home the spoils.

Recent course second EMPIRE DE MAULDE could exploit any chinks in the armour of Gracchus De Balme and Jeffery's Cross.

9/2(+31%) | (4) Captain Tommy 9/2, Comfortably held in a hunter chase over 3m at Ludlow last time; inconsistent; down in trip; in the mix if getting stiff test Beat Presentandcounting and Walkin Out back in March; last two efforts need forgiving.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

On target at Newbury in March before going in again under Dale Peters at Cheltenham, it is difficult to oppose REBEL DAWN RISING. The in-form 11-year-old might have too much for Presentandcounting, who will be a threat to all if allowed an easy time of things at the head of affairs. Walkin Out finished a creditable third at Cheltenham and a similar level of performance would see her thereabouts once again.

The welter burden asks plenty, but REBEL DAWN RISING lines up on a high and is taken ahead of C&D scorer Presentandcounting.

50/1(-213%) | (3) Figaroc 50/1, Did not get a clear run comfortably held in a claiming hurdle over 2m at Fakenham last time; generally out of form; well treated on these terms on old Irish form; contender but needs some rain Player on winter 2024 chase form for Willie Mullins; well held in claiming hurdle latest.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JOKER DE MAI came to grief early on when well supported for the Foxhunters' at Aintree. This isn't anywhere near as competitive and, if returning to the level that saw him bolt up at Leicester in March, he will be tough to beat. Fellow class dropper Frere d'Armes can't be overlooked, despite a couple of lacklustre performances. The Big Lense, who competed a hat-trick between the flags recently, is also noted.

If the likely sound surface finds Joker De Mai out, then unbeaten pointer THE BIG LENSE (nap) has the attributes to take advantage.
Ths is the racecard key.
