1st (4) (3/1 -50%)Boom Boom |
3/1(-50%) | (4) Boom Boom 3/1, Travelled well and built on a recent revival at this favoured venue when landing a handicap by 3½l off 77 over 2m1f here last time; had tumbled in the weights prior to that and is competitive. Was 0-10 over fences but then beat Fox Wallace over 2m1f here last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 +50%)My Virtue |
3/1(+50%) | (6) My Virtue 3/1, Raced wide and made mistakes when again below hurdle form, fourth beaten 15l in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time; tongue-tie on for the first time; jumping must improve. Chase form needs improving upon but he has had wind surgery and tries a tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2/1 +20%)Greenrock Abbey |
2/1(+20%) | (2) Greenrock Abbey 2/1, Travelled comfortably and built on a recent revival in first-time visor when scoring by 12l off 82 at Market Rasen three starts ago; fell just before the race developed in a handicap chase last time; can go well. Still travelling with some purpose when falling four out at Cartmel two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/1 -82%)Fox Wallace |
10/1(-82%) | (3) Fox Wallace 10/1, Improved back over fences at this favoured venue when second, beaten 3½l off 81 last time; has a bit to find on that run. Perhaps on a high enough mark now best recent efforts have been at this track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/1 +17%)Romanor |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Romanor 5/1, Possibly did not stay when fourth, beaten 20l in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time; could bounce back and holds a chance at a price. Hasn't won for ages but produced two good seconds before latest blip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (33/1 -136%)Mcgrath From Clune |
33/1(-136%) | (5) Mcgrath From Clune 33/1, Outpaced and found the ground too quick when third, beaten 25l in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Plumpton most recently; returns from a short break and needs soft ground. Winning chaser in Ireland but on a slippery slope since moving to Britain. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having capitalised off a career-low mark over 2m1f here last month, there could be more to come from BOOM BOOM. This afternoon's extra distance shouldn't pose any issues for the son of Califet and he's taken to defy a 6lb rise in the ratings. Reopposing runner-up Fox Wallace warrants respect off 4lb better terms and isn't taken lightly, while My Virtue is worth a second look on the back of a wind procedure.

Bar a non-completion over hurdles, GREENROCK ABBEY has been running well for James Owen.

1st (7) (12/1 +0%)Baikal |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Baikal 12/1, Had every chance and ran to form when fourth, beaten 6l in a Flat handicap over 10f at Ffos Las most recently; solid fourth, beaten 12l off 81 in latest hurdle run; consistent dual-purpose performer. Last hurdle win in 2023 but down the weights and fair Flat efforts of late. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 -33%)G'day Aussie |
4/1(-33%) | (3) G'day Aussie 4/1, Up 4lb but well treated on old form; ran to form when landing a handicap by 3¼l off 89 over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee last time; remains well treated on best form. In-form veteran and essentially just 1lb higher than for his clearcut win at Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (15/8 -25%)Al Mootamarid |
15/8(-25%) | (5) Al Mootamarid 15/8, Travelled well and ran to form benefiting from first-time tongue-tie after hitting the front early enough to land a handicap by a length off 90 over 2m here last time; well treated on Flat form and may have more to come. Recent course winner; up 6lb but this 4yo seems to be improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (33/1 -32%)Floating Rock |
33/1(-32%) | (6) Floating Rock 33/1, Pulled up after rein broke in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Worcester last time; returning from a long layoff and probably needs the run. Third over hurdles before the rein broke back chasing; has been off for 13 months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (9/2 +25%)Ikigai Star |
9/2(+25%) | (1) Ikigai Star 9/2, Bit below form but not disgraced when tiring late up in trip at a stiff track, finishing 15l fourth at Worcester last time; not out of it at this sharper track. A fader last time but the form of his previous win off 3lb lower has worked out very well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (6/1 +14%)Battle Of Omdurman |
6/1(+14%) | (4) Battle Of Omdurman 6/1, Bit below form on ground softer than ideal when 10l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot most recently; tongue-tie on for the first time; chance. Looks vulnerable off current mark unless the new tongue-tie brings him on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (14/1 -75%)Asian Star |
14/1(-75%) | (2) Asian Star 14/1, Stopped quickly after briefly threatening, again below hurdle form when fourth, beaten 27l in a handicap chase over 2m1f here most recently; must bounce back on hurdles return Chasing the last twice and well held; novice hurdle form suggests this mark is okay. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Dave Roberts has his string in rude health at present and G'DAY AUSSIE looks capable of completing a hat-trick. The veteran knuckled down to score at Worcester and Bangor of late and the majority of his latest 6lb rise is negated by Jay Tidball's 5lb claim. Al Mootamarid secured a first career victory for trainer Dominic Elsworth over shorter here last month and is feared most, ahead of Ikigai Star.

G'Day Aussie is weighted to be very competitive once more but the 4yo AL MOOTAMARID (nap) seems to be improving.

1st (4) (6/1 +14%)Backinaction |
6/1(+14%) | (4) Backinaction 6/1, Made mistakes and never travelled when well below form, well beaten in a handicap chase over 3m2f at Newton Abbot last time; only beaten 1½l off 90 on previous start; can contend if returning to that level. Poor last time but was runner-up the time before so there's a big run in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (10/3 -105%)Getthepot |
10/3(-105%) | (5) Getthepot 10/3, Yard won this last year; ran to form when second, beaten 4½l in a handicap chase over 3m at Southwell last time; consistent and should go well. Keeps finishing second but clearly a contender in his current run of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/4 +21%)Man Of The Sea |
11/4(+21%) | (1) Man Of The Sea 11/4, Outpaced but ran to form when fourth, beaten 9¼l in a handicap chase over 2m3f here last time; consistent hurdler; chance. Plenty of Flat/hurdle wins; fourth on chase debut here and this longer trip is worth a go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/8 +31%)Slievegar |
11/8(+31%) | (3) Slievegar 11/8, Returned to form but looked in need of further when beaten 2¼l off 99 over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time; trainer in form; obvious chance up in trip. Kept on well for a close third over 2m5f at Newton Abbot and this probably more his trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (28/1 -100%)Reforme |
28/1(-100%) | (2) Reforme 28/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 32l in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Fakenham last time; prefers some give; off a short break; has a squeak. Second in January was a false dawn; makes chase debut after break of 83 days. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having posted a string of runner-up efforts this year, compensation could be on the horizon for GETTHEPOT. A 1lb drop from the assessor for his latest second at Southwell could prove fruitful and the son of Getaway is preferred to Man Of The Sea. Neil Mulholland's charge offered something to work with on his fourth-placed chase bow over an extended 2m3f here 12 days ago and is this longer trip is worth exploring. Slievegar completes the shortlist.

It was a fair effort in defeat from SLIEVEGAR at Newton Abbot and returning to further has to be a good thing.

1st (1) (4/11 +55%)One Horse Town |
4/11(+55%) | (1) One Horse Town 4/11, Quickened clear cosily on a very promising debut when outclassing rivals to win a juvenile hurdle at Hexham by 29l last time; more to come judged on Flat form; the pick on balance of form. Fair Flat racer; scored by 29l on last month's hurdling debut at Hexham; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 -20%)Blue Tempus |
4/1(-20%) | (2) Blue Tempus 4/1, Kicked on too soon and showed greenness in front when a promising debut second, beaten 1½l in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Newton Abbot last time; steadily progressive and should improve for experience. Travelled well for a long way when clear second on hurdling debut at Newton Abbot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (40/1 0%)It's Life |
40/1(0%) | (7) It's Life 40/1, Never competitive having been hampered early and forced wide when below form, beaten 4½l in a handicap over 12f at Wolverhampton last time; looks poor. 0-9 on the Flat and makes only limited appeal on this hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (20/1 -150%)Georginio |
20/1(-150%) | (3) Georginio 20/1, Forced wide and did too much too soon having raced freely when beaten 10l in a handicap over 10f at Pontefract last time; in good form prior; Flat winner; stamina to prove over hurdles. Fair form when winning 9.4f AW nursery in December; a possible if he takes to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (28/1 -250%)Tillmouth |
28/1(-250%) | (5) Tillmouth 28/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 4l in a juvenile hurdle over 2m3f at Erbray last time; showed useful form in France on varying ground and may take a weak hurdle in the UK. Runner-up on three of his seven hurdling starts in France; makes British debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (7/1 +56%)Appleblossomwhite |
7/1(+56%) | (6) Appleblossomwhite 7/1, Below form when probably unsuited by the drop in trip, beaten 6l in a handicap over 8f at Newmarket (July) last time; usually consistent and may have more to come over hurdles. Won AW handicap in February; not out of this if all goes to plan on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (33/1 -50%)Risk |
33/1(-50%) | (4) Risk 33/1, Found little having raced freely and looked awkward on the bend when down the field in a handicap over 8f at Windsor most recently; better form on AW; off a short break; stamina to prove now hurdling. Placed twice over 7f on Flat this year but recent efforts have been disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (8) (66/1 -267%)Olivia Jane |
66/1(-267%) | (8) Olivia Jane 66/1, Unseated rider in a juvenile hurdle over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time; poor on the Flat prior at a lowly level; has a lot to find. Became disappointing on the Flat and didn't get far on recent hurdling debut; too risky. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ONE HORSE TOWN is difficult to oppose, despite his penalty. A winner on the Flat, he forged clear in the closing stages to trounce the opposition at Hexham on his hurdling bow, and Harry Derham's charge looks an above average recruit on that showing. Blue Tempus also showed ability on his first start over hurdles when runner-up at Newton Abbot, while Tillmouth has placed three times over timber in France and is worth a second look.

The best of these on the Flat, ONE HORSE TOWN kept on relentlessly to win by a wide margin on his hurdling debut at Hexham.

1st (2) (17/2 -89%)City Of Diamonds |
17/2(-89%) | (2) City Of Diamonds 17/2, Looked green, made mistakes, and failed to build on debut when comfortably held in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter last time; chance in a weak race if reproducing the form of his first hurdle run. Hurdling debut third at Bangor; heavy defeat four weeks later was followed by wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/11 +50%)Whatyouwaitingfor |
4/11(+50%) | (5) Whatyouwaitingfor 4/11, Improved from debut when just caught late by a more experienced rival, finishing second and beaten 2l in a maiden hurdle here last time; steadily progressive; trainer in form; should be winning a maiden soon. Runner-up over C&D 12 days ago and this is probably a good chance to go one better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/2 -40%)Diamond Ambition |
7/2(-40%) | (3) Diamond Ambition 7/2, Looked in need of the run after a wind operation when comfortably held in a bumper at Warwick on hurdle debut; second run after the wind op; off a short break; placed in an Irish point and may improve over hurdles. Third in an Irish point; wind surgery before poor last of five when favourite for a bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -79%)Hoeyfield Lad |
25/1(-79%) | (4) Hoeyfield Lad 25/1, Finished 7½l third in a maiden point over 3m at Necarne on latest outing; likely to need staying trips under rules. Ran in five Irish points, easily best when third last time; sold for £16,000 later in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (200/1 +0%)Believe A Little |
200/1(+0%) | (1) Believe A Little 200/1, Produced a poor run when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Worcester last time; yet to show anything of note. No worthwhile form after a bumper and two 2m maiden hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Third here on his hurdling debut, WHATYOUWAITINGFOR took a step forward to finish a solid second here on his latest start. He's clearly heading in the right direction and this looks a good opportunity to open his account. City Of Diamonds failed to build on a promising third at Bangor in May, when only fifth at Uttoxeter. A subsequent wind operation could bring about a return to form, while it's also too soon to write off Diamond Ambition.

City Of Diamonds has had wind surgery but it looks as if clearly the most likely winner is recent C&D second WHATYOUWAITINGFOR.

5/4(+62%) | (3) Therapist 5/4, Bit below form off revised mark when fourth, beaten 10l off 115 last time; handicapper may be catching up, but is in good heart. Two 2m wins here this spring; came up well short when 5-4 at Warwick nearly six weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +33%)El Borracho |
3/1(+33%) | (4) El Borracho 3/1, Needed run but solid effort on Flat return when 8l third in a handicap over 2m2f at Pontefract on most recent run; form erratic over fences prior and not the force of old, but dropping in the weights. Fair return to the Flat three weeks ago; very well treated judged on 2024 chase form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/4 -17%)Hecouldbetheone |
7/4(-17%) | (1) Hecouldbetheone 7/4, Rallied gamely, up 3lb but well treated on chase form, improved landing a handicap by 2l off 121 over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time; enjoys making it; the one to beat. Front-runner; running creditably as hurdler before he won two Uttoxeter chases (2m5f/2m4f). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Hecouldbetheone landed a double over fences last month and returns to the smaller obstacles with every chance. Time Interval made all to land a double over hurdles in May and he could also land a blow. However, the above pair are likely to take each other on for the lead, and that could play into the hands of THERAPIST. A dual winner over shorter trips here, Nicky Henderson's charge is taken to put last month's below-par effort at Warwick behind her back at this venue.

Reasonable cases can be made for them all but TIME INTERVAL appears to be the most solid option.

2nd (4) (6/1 +0%)Mokoro |
6/1(+0%) | (4) Mokoro 6/1, Race may have come a bit soon and pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Bangor-on-Dee latest; off a short-break; may want staying trips such as this, should be fresher Poor last time but had a break since and did threaten the time before. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/2 -5%)Grasshopper Time |
7/2(-5%) | (3) Grasshopper Time 7/2, Keen, quickened clear, ran to form just out-battled late back up in trip beaten 1/2l off 84 over 2m4f at Southwell last time; off a short-break; maiden for a reason Three runs since wind surgery and the blip came over fences; good second last time. |

18/1(+55%) | (6) Hitthekettle 18/1, Unenthusiastic when pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 3m2f here latest run back in July 2024; returning from long layoff; not out of it at best Point winner who has yet to place under rules; back from an absence here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (25/1 +24%)Prophet Squeeze |
25/1(+24%) | (7) Prophet Squeeze 25/1, Yet to show anything under rules and pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Ffos Las latest; everything to prove Very modest hurdler from 2m to 2m6f; 29lb out of the weights for this handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/1 -133%)Getuptheyard |
7/1(-133%) | (2) Getuptheyard 7/1, Improved up in trip, just caught on post beaten a head off 89 over 2m7f at Uttoxeter last time; consistent; may contend Runner-up in last three races, narrowly missing out in the latest at Uttoxeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (66/1 -65%)On The Nose |
66/1(-65%) | (5) On The Nose 66/1, Needed the run when pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Fontwell latest; should strip fitter, but hard to fancy Two Flat wins for previous yards; pulled up in a handicap hurdle on her debut for this one. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Getuptheyard is creeping closer to that elusive first win over hurdles, having been caught in the dying strides at Uttoxeter in May. He looks likely to feature in the finish once again, but MR LE PHILOSOPHE is marginally preferred. The latter opened his account over over timber when returning the emphatic winner at Worcester and James Owen's charge can go in again with a conditional's allowance negating most of a 6lb rise. Grasshopper Time looks pick of the remainder.

If MOKORO is on the ball after his break then a repeat of his close third at Warwick would give him every chance.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
