1st (1) (9/2 +82%)A King Of Magic |
9/2(+82%) | (1) A King Of Magic 9/2, Yard has won two of the last five runnings of this race. Green but showed promise on debut when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Exeter last time. Effective at 2m and bumper form has been franked at Graded level over hurdles. Promise in bumpers but well-held fifth on hurdle debut and Cobden looks elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (11/2 -57%)Way Of Stars |
11/2(-57%) | (10) Way Of Stars 11/2, Very promising debut when a 7 1/2l third in a maiden hurdle at Exeter last time. That form has been franked emphatically. Hood worn for the first time and returns from a short break. Effective at 2m and usually very reliable on the Flat. Useful on Flat; too free when third on hurdle but can improve if settling better in hood. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (10/3 +26%)Babyken |
10/3(+26%) | (8) Babyken 10/3, Yard has won two of the last five runnings of this race. Finished second when beaten 17l in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 2m, showed useful Flat form in France, and latest form has been franked at higher level. Flat win in France; bounced back from poor hurdle debut to chase home useful sort over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/4 +50%)Western Cross |
6/4(+50%) | (5) Western Cross 6/4, Had too much to do after conceding first run when a very promising 4l third in a novice hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective at 2m and could improve if ridden slightly more positively. Runner-up in first of two bumpers; promising third on Hereford hurdle debut; will improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (150/1 -500%)Louis Des Landes |
150/1(-500%) | (3) Louis Des Landes 150/1, Outpaced on a modest debut when well beaten in a bumper here on his only start. Returns from a short break with all to prove starting out over hurdles. 5-1 but tailed off on course bumper debut in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (150/1 +0%)Deauville Lady |
150/1(+0%) | (6) Deauville Lady 150/1, Outpaced but never threatened when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton latest. Usually held up and may be one for longer-distance handicaps in time. Tailed off in a bumper and two hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (4/1 +43%)Circle Of Secrets |
4/1(+43%) | (9) Circle Of Secrets 4/1, Improved for debut experience when fourth, beaten 7l, in a juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown last time. Effective over 2m2f and progressing with racing Fourth in two hurdles in Ireland and won't need to up his game too much for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (200/1 -203%)Corner Forward |
200/1(-203%) | (2) Corner Forward 200/1, Ran to form when comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time. Effective at 2m and looks the type to do better when sent handicapping. Looks more one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (100/1 -100%)Follow The Plan |
100/1(-100%) | (7) Follow The Plan 100/1, Improved when a 5 1/2l third in a maiden at Ballycrystal on her most recent run. Returns from a short break and showed minor promise in a point, but may find this a sharp enough test on rules debut. Third on her completed start in points but Way Of Stars is likely yard's main hope here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WAY OF STARS wasn't disgraced when finding two smart juveniles too good on his hurdling debut at Exeter in December and any improvement could enable a breakthrough victory in this discipline. The biggest threat may emerge from Western Cross, who arrives on the back of a respectable third-placed timber bow at Hereford, although Babyken, Circle Of Secrets and Marhaba Prince are feasible alternatives.

It turns out BABYKEN was up against a very useful one over C&D last month and he's taken to build on that promise for his in-form yard.

(3) (5/6 +67%)Five Bar Gate |
5/6(+67%) | (3) Five Bar Gate 5/6, Outpaced but finished well on a promising debut when beaten 9l in a maiden hurdle here last time. Was in good form prior, is effective at 2m–2m3f, and more can be expected over hurdles. Bumper winner; promise when fifth of 13 on C&D hurdle debut; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (10/3 +76%)Sailing By |
10/3(+76%) | (6) Sailing By 10/3, Made a modest debut when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Exeter latest. Is effective at 2m but needs to show considerably more than he has so far to figure in a race of this nature. Third on Chepstow bumper debut but only seventh in bumper/maiden hurdle at Exeter since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (10/3 +5%)Mariole |
10/3(+5%) | (9) Mariole 10/3, Outpaced and needed the run when finishing down the field in a Listed NH Flat Race at Cheltenham most recent. The trainer is in form, but improvement is required now hurdling. Second sole run in France; well held in Listed bumper on yard debut but retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (11/2 -100%)Innamorato |
11/2(-100%) | (8) Innamorato 11/2, Had every chance but again ran below his French form when fourth beaten 24l in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton latest. Is effective at 2m1f and handles testing ground, but needs to bounce back to show his true ability. Capable of doing so for top yard. Big shout on French hurdle form last summer but below that level in two runs for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (125/1 +17%)Fane Court |
125/1(+17%) | (2) Fane Court 125/1, Again ran to a moderate level when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow latest. Has shown effectiveness at 3m in points, is up in trip again, but looks the type to do better when handicapping. Point win in November but well held in two hurdles since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 -150%)Paradise Park |
125/1(-150%) | (7) Paradise Park 125/1, Looked green and probably needed the race when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter most recent. Returns from a long layoff, is effective at 2m on soft ground, and may need more time. Fourth in a bumper in spring 2024 but last on hurdle debut last February; off again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (125/1 -56%)Georges Street |
125/1(-56%) | (4) Georges Street 125/1, Pulled up in a point at Wadebridge latest. Returns from a short break, is effective at 3m in points, but faces a stiff task in this company and looks up against it. Placed in Irish point last spring but pulled up in two British points at end of 2025. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (200/1 -33%)Eric Gorcombe |
200/1(-33%) | (1) Eric Gorcombe 200/1, Never in the race when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time. Has yet to show any worthwhile form under Rules and needs to find significant improvement to be competitive here. No show in points and maiden/novice hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Innamorato has yet to match his French hurdles form in two outings since switching to Paul Nicholls and it may be best to look elsewhere. FIVE BAR GATE is the obvious port of call after posting a respectable fifth over C&D last month and a similar performance may prove sufficient. Leader Crik will find this easier than his sixth at Cheltenham and is feared most.

The suggestion is LEADER CRIK, who was well held on his Cheltenham hurdle debut in October but showed promise in a point before that.

(7) (10/11 +64%)Cooler Than Me |
10/11(+64%) | (7) Cooler Than Me 10/11, Landed a handicap by 3/4l off this mark at Market Rasen last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and well treated on bumper form, with more to come and likely to get 3m. Escapes a penalty for recent Market Rasen handicap debut win; the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (11/2 +31%)Ask Peter |
11/2(+31%) | (6) Ask Peter 11/2, Returned to form down in trip when third, beaten 6 1/2l, in a handicap hurdle here on her latest run. Enjoys making it and a further drop in trip may suit. Third of ten over C&D on heavy last week and holds each-way claims again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (13/2 -18%)Gower Spirit |
13/2(-18%) | (1) Gower Spirit 13/2, Ran to form when second, beaten 17l, in a handicap hurdle at Hereford last time. Effective at 2m4f and acts on heavy ground, and could be running into form. Goes well in mud and runner-up at Hereford the last twice; ought to be in mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 -45%)Broomfield Gale |
8/1(-45%) | (2) Broomfield Gale 8/1, Travelled well and did it comfortably when appreciating a strong pace down in trip to land a handicap by 7 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark here last time. Trainer is in form and the mark still looks fair though testing ground is a worry. Both wins on good, latterly over 2m here five weeks ago; faces very different ground today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (17/2 +61%)Perfect Nelson |
17/2(+61%) | (3) Perfect Nelson 17/2, Probably needed the race when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Absent for a very lengthy period and, although effective at 2m, needs to prove his ability remains after the long layoff. Lightly raced and interesting on bumper form but he's been absent for 659 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (18/1 +0%)Nobody Told Me |
18/1(+0%) | (9) Nobody Told Me 18/1, Had every chance but ran below form when well beaten in a handicap hurdle here last time. Off a short break and effective at 12-16f with give, but in poor form since returning to hurdling. Close up when unseating two out here last February but well held back hurdling last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (18/1 -157%)Stage Show |
18/1(-157%) | (8) Stage Show 18/1, Returned to form up in trip to shed his maiden tag when landing a handicap by 3l off a 4lb lower mark at Exeter last time. Returning from a break and not one to rely on backing up that effort on unsuitable testing ground. Fast-ground Exeter success in October was first win on 29th start; different ground now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (22/1 -120%)Jackomy |
22/1(-120%) | (4) Jackomy 22/1, Outpaced and looked in need of a stiffer test when well beaten on handicap debut in a hurdle at Wincanton last time. A longer trip should suit, but he needs to find more to defy this mark. Would have won a point but for late fall but no show in four hurdles, including a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (100/1 -52%)Talap |
100/1(-52%) | (10) Talap 100/1, Outpaced and beaten early when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton on his most recent run. Effective at 2m-2m3f, but is regressive and others are preferred. Beaten 14l or more in all four handicaps and hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (125/1 -150%)All Night Parking |
125/1(-150%) | (5) All Night Parking 125/1, Pulled up in a conditions race at Cothelstone last time and returns from a long layoff. A point winner who is effective at 2m5f, but needs to prove his ability remains on this first rules run for some time. Point winner; showed a bit over hurdles in 2024 but failed to complete back pointing since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having dug deep when making a winning handicap bow at Market Rasen recently, COOLER THAN ME could prove tough to beat off an unchanged mark. The eight-year-old is 7lb well-in and gets the vote over Gower Spirit. Matt Sheppard's mare has been unlucky to bump into two progressive rivals of late, although she may have to play second fiddle once more. The unexposed Perfect Nelson is worth a market check on his belated return to action.

A race which to some degree revolves around COOLER THAN ME, who escapes a penalty for Market Rasen.

(10) (5/2 +38%)Ted The Thief |
5/2(+38%) | (10) Ted The Thief 5/2, Ran to form when beaten 2l off a 4lb lower mark here last time. Effective from around 2m5f to 3m3f and acts on good to soft ground. More to come as a chaser over marathon trips. In good form but Bataillon was too strong for him over C&D latest and might be same again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 +36%)Bataillon |
7/2(+36%) | (3) Bataillon 7/2, Improved up in trip when landing a handicap by 2l off a 6lb lower mark here last time. Effective between 2m4f and 3m, and acts on heavy and good ground. Remains well treated on hurdle form, with more to come over fences. Got up late over C&D on good to soft latest; today's softer ground should suit even better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/2 +42%)Jongleur D'etoiles |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Jongleur D'etoiles 7/2, Improved on better ground, jumping much better when second, beaten 10l, in a handicap chase here last time. Effective at 3m and acts on soft and good ground. Progressive, with latest form franked, and looks on a good mark on hurdle form. Four hurdle wins and showed he can do it over fences when second over C&D latest; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (4/1 +20%)Hell Hound |
4/1(+20%) | (1) Hell Hound 4/1, Ran to form on handicap debut when fourth, beaten 8 1/4l, in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time, though not the speed of the principals. Returning from a long absence. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on good to soft. More to come now chasing up in trip and mark looks lenient, though may just need this. Promising in bumpers/over hurdles but off 467 days ahead of chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (9/2 -13%)Call Me Arthur |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Call Me Arthur 9/2, Travelled well and did it easily when improving up in trip, benefitting from reappearance to land a handicap by 15l off a 10lb lower mark at Huntingdon last time. Didn't beat much that day. Effective at 3m and acts on soft and good to soft ground. A consistent hurdler, with more to come as a stayer over fences. Came 15l clear at Huntingdon latest so a 10lb rise looks warranted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (16/1 -45%)Shot Boii |
16/1(-45%) | (8) Shot Boii 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Ludlow last time after never travelling or jumping following an early error. Blinkers are applied for the first time. Effective at 3m and generally consistent. Second in December but pulled up either side, taking chase record to 1-18; new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (22/1 +0%)Another Day Out |
22/1(+0%) | (6) Another Day Out 22/1, Made too much use of when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Leicester last time. Enjoys making it in front. Effective between 2m4f and 3m on a sound surface. Needs to be allowed to dominate. Has blinkers refitted as she bids to bounce back from a couple of lesser efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 +21%)Gingerbred |
22/1(+21%) | (7) Gingerbred 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Windsor last time. Usually held up in his races. Effective over 3m to 3m4f and acts on heavy and good ground. Had been consistent until that latest run and is on a fair mark when dropped in class. 3m winner on heavy; also good second here in December but has run poorly since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (25/1 -14%)School For Scandal |
25/1(-14%) | (9) School For Scandal 25/1, Scored by a neck off a 3lb lower mark at Windsor three starts ago. Had every chance when fourth, beaten 13l, off 83 last time and is 1lb lower here. Effective between 2m7f and 3m2f and acts on good to soft and good to firm ground. Inconsistent and would not want rain. C&D winner but couldn't live with Bataillon and Ted The Thief here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (33/1 -313%)The Blueberry One |
33/1(-313%) | (5) The Blueberry One 33/1, Jumped poorly and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Wincanton last time. Cheekpieces are applied for the first time. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on soft ground. Capable of better judged on hurdle form and very interesting with debut run behind him. Well held on recent chase debut but it was his first outing for 11 months; cheekpieces on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CALL ME ARTHUR and Bataillon both won on their latest outings, but ready preference is for the former after his romp at Huntingdon. Tom Lacey's gelding relished the step back up in distance that day and if in similar form, he could prove hard to beat. Jongleur D'etoiles put his unseat two starts ago well behind him when outrunning his odds to finish second over C&D in December and commands respect.

Low-mileage 8yo BATAILLON (nap) is taken to confirm last month's C&D superiority over Ted The Thief.

(6) (5/2 +38%)Jack Hyde |
5/2(+38%) | (6) Jack Hyde 5/2, Well placed in a race dominated from the front and ran to form when beaten 1 1/4l off a 2lb lower mark at Cheltenham last time. Effective over 2m–2 1/2m and arrives in form following a short break and a wind op. Big chance if coping with the softer ground. Good second of 15 in mud at Cheltenham (soft) in November; had wind op since; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/4 +73%)Into The Park |
11/4(+73%) | (7) Into The Park 11/4, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Exeter on his most recent run. Effective over 2m–2 1/2m and likely capable of better over fences than he showed on that occasion. Didn't take to fences latest but in form over hurdles before; C&D winner; declared Weds. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/1 +0%)Welsh Charger |
5/1(+0%) | (3) Welsh Charger 5/1, Unseated at the start in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh latest. The trainer is in form and he is effective over 2m–2m4f; still on a competitive mark but may need a slight step up in trip. Won 2025 Scottish County at Musselburgh; unseated start when fav for same race 12 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/2 -83%)Celtic Art |
11/2(-83%) | (5) Celtic Art 11/2, Did it cosily when landing a weaker handicap hurdle by 3l off a 5lb lower mark here last time, benefitting from a steadier gallop. Effective over 2m–2m3f and in form, though his new mark will demand more. Dual 2m3f winner here on good/good to soft this winter but deeper ground today a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (17/2 -13%)Spirits Bay |
17/2(-13%) | (4) Spirits Bay 17/2, Travelled well and improved from his debut over fences but possibly outstayed when beaten 5 1/2l into fourth in a handicap chase at Exeter last time. Usually held up, he is effective at 2m and may need a drop back in trip. Hurdle win in October; creditable fourth in chase latest; won previous start on heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (9/1 +0%)Constellation Walk |
9/1(+0%) | (8) Constellation Walk 9/1, Improved when beaten 8l into third in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time. Usually held up and effective at 2m, he is off a short break and could have more to offer now entering handicaps. Progressive RPRs in maiden hurdles and likely more to come in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 +13%)Aurigny Mill |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Aurigny Mill 14/1, Outpaced but ran to form when beaten 6 1/4l into third in a handicap hurdle here last time, unsuited by the way the race developed. Effective at 2m–2 1/2m and wants a good pace to aim at. Handles heavy ground and big player if building on latest. Good course record, including second in this last year; fair third here latest; respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

It's hard to ignore the claims of CELTIC ART, who readily made it two wins from his last three outings over 2m3f here last month. The nine-year-old does take a drop in trip but that is unlikely to prevent him from continuing his brilliant form. Jack Hyde produced a good effort when runner-up at Cheltenham in November and has since undergone wind surgery, so he is one to keep an eye on. Brentford Hope and Aurigny Mill are others to consider.

A useful contest. Brentford Hope goes really well in the mud but narrow preference is for JACK HYDE.

(1) (1/1 +33%)Golden Son |
1/1(+33%) | (1) Golden Son 1/1, Yard won this race last year. Returned to form down in class back from a break when winning a hunter chase at Warwick by 6l last time. Trainer is in form, effective at 2 1/2m and with cut, though inconsistent and still unexposed in hunter chases. Won by 6l on recent hunter chase debut at Warwick and he's a leading candidate today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (2/1 +11%)Beacon Edge |
2/1(+11%) | (5) Beacon Edge 2/1, Ran to form when winning a Mixed Open Point at Wadebridge by 3/4l last time. Returning from a long layoff, effective at 2-3m and a formerly classy hurdler who could be a very useful recruit to this sphere. Former Grade 1 winner should have too much for these. Best known as very talented h'dler; entitled to considerable respect on hunter chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 -67%)Snipe |
5/1(-67%) | (4) Snipe 5/1, Returned to form down in class when winning a hunter chase at Hereford by 3/4l last time. Ideally wants 3m, is in fair form and remains unexposed in hunter chases. Returned to form to win on hunter chase debut at Hereford last month; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (22/1 -57%)Revels Hill |
22/1(-57%) | (6) Revels Hill 22/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 9 1/2l, in a hunter chase at Chepstow last time. Returning from a long layoff, effective around 3m and on good to soft or soft, though has shown little rules form for years despite this being easier. Very useful in his prime but that hasn't been the case more recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (28/1 +15%)Just Loose Change |
28/1(+15%) | (3) Just Loose Change 28/1, Carried out in a hunter chase here last time. Effective at 3m and a chase winner on good ground but has plenty to prove on this type of surface. Mishaps have been a feature across his last 3 starts and he's down the pecking order today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (50/1 -100%)Haven't Time |
50/1(-100%) | (2) Haven't Time 50/1, Below form when fourth, beaten 19l, in a hunter chase at Warwick last time. Effective at 3m and with cut, and could build on that promising return. 2nd in this last year; could improve for last month's return but others still appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 -89%)Whitsand Bay |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Whitsand Bay 125/1, Pulled up in a point at Larkhill last time. Cheekpieces are fitted for the first time and he is off a short break. Multiple point winner, but out of form in that discipline. 10yo who has 4-19 record in points; makes rules debut in hot contest and looks vulnerable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Golden Son struck in comfortable fashion at this level at Warwick last month and has to be considered, but BEACON EDGE shades the vote. The veteran bolted up in a claiming hurdle on his final start for Gordon Elliott last May and justified cramped odds in a point-to-point last month. With a rating of 144, he is hard to ignore. Revels Hill is also respected.

Preference is for GOLDEN SON who looked good when winning a hunter chase at Warwick last month. Beacon Edge is feared most.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance.
