13:41 Taunton (Class 4) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Things didn't work out for FOUNTAINS BLENHEIN in the River Don but he can bounce back in these much calmer waters, not least because he's favoured at the weights. C&D winner Calvino is one of only a few of these to show an aptitude for hurdling so far and it's possible that he could take another step forward, whilst Khafre appeals most of the remainder.

Syd Hosie's KHAFRE shaped well when fourth in a good Wincanton novice in December and is given the verdict.

14:16 Taunton (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A confident vote goes to COOLER THAN ME, who made it two from two in handicaps with a facile C&D win a fortnight ago. Fergal O'Brien's charge had Talap well in arrears that day and a 9lb rise shouldn't be enough to halt further progress. Marhaba Million was no slouch on the Flat and cannot be ruled out, whilst Diamond Days should be happier back over hurdles.

With solid claims so hard to find in this line-up, the chances are that recent C&D winner COOLER THAN ME can complete his hat-trick.

14:51 Taunton (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FAT FACED COLUMBO has been a revelation since going over fences in November. The Mahler gelding was just touched off at Exeter before bolting up over C&D and again at Chepstow, so a hat-trick looks within his compass from 6lb higher. Move With The Beat took a step forward to win at Ludlow most recently and first-time cheekpieces could elicit improvement from Wheresmemoneygone.

The vote goes to FAT FACED COLUMBO, who is 2-3 over fences and won by 8l when he was left clear in a big field at Chepstow last month.

15:26 Taunton (Class 4) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

After three second-placed finishes the consistent Inferno Sacree looks worth a try over this longer trip, while Malago Rose is noteworthy off bottom weight, with Bradley Harris easing the task further with his 3lb claim. However, SNAPDANCE, who was a close second over C&D on his penultimate start, looks the safest option given he has looked progressive since being stepped up in distance. Harry Kimber gets on well with the selection and can guide the low-mileage seven-year-old to a first career win.

Snapdance earns plenty of plaudits for his C&D second but preference is for the very lightly raced and unexposed HANDIN MANYPOCKETS.

FORTUNE DANCER has proven to be tough to overhaul when she gets her own way and may be able to round out a four-timer, despite going up 30lb since her winning spree started. This is still realistically within her range now that the penny has dropped over fences. Cooleenymore and Overabottleofred are other consistent options to consider, while Lazy Sunday is no back number and should give another good account.

This can go to the progressive FORTUNE DANCER (nap), who made it 3-3 over fences when battling well to beat a clear second at Windsor.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
