The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MAGIC BOX was only beaten four lengths, despite finishing last, on her racecourse debut at Yarmouth last week. The daughter of Showcasing displayed signs of inexperience with a slow start and being outpaced at a crucial point, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see her in a better light. Supreme Dancer may leave behind his first performance at Pontefract, while Moghitha and Believeinmenow appeal most of the newcomers.

The form standard is only modest but MAGIC BOX, who is a Newmarket raider, and Supreme Dancer are likely to show improvement.

125/1(-400%) | (6) The Young Adonis 125/1, 20 Feb; 1,000gns Ulysses colt; tough enough task on debut 1,000gns yearling; by Ulysses; yard has a low strike-rate with 2yos. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Under The Radar (fourth) and DACRES CROSS (fifth) both shaped with promise on debut at Pontefract. However, the latter gets the vote having finished his race off particularly well and Kevin Ryan's colt may have a fair amount of improvement to come. Haberdash finished last in the aforementioned contest, but stepped forward under more positive tactics at Beverley and a repeat of those might see him make a nuisance of himself.

The strongest form contenders are UNDER THE RADAR (narrowly preferred) and Dacres Cross.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Northern Express enjoyed a solid campaign last year, which included landing a valuable handicap at Ascot in July, and it wouldn't be surprising if the seven-year-old went close to replicating his 2023 success in this contest. Our Havana scored at Musselburgh last month, when ridden more patiently than the time before at Doncaster, but a chance is taken with OBELIX. The five-year-old shaped well on his comeback when fourth here over 7f and the return to a mile is likely to bring about improvement.

The drop in grade could prove liberating for FLIGHT PLAN and Hi Royal, with the former preferred.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Woroodd shaped with lots of promise when making the frame on her debut at Newbury and brings the best form to the table. However, a chance can be taken on ABLOOM, who is a half-sister to a Grade 3 winner in Japan and goes for the in-form William Haggas team. The daughter of Night Of Thunder may be up to the task at the first time of asking, while Nakaaha is another to consider after her second at Southwell at the end of 2024.

Unless the betting vibes are notably strong surrounding William Haggas's newcomer Abloom the one to beat is WOROODD.

4/1(-20%) | (1) Savrola 4/1, Ideally suited by trip when landing a handicap by a neck off 67 over 12f at Musselburgh last time overcoming trouble; 2lb rise lenient; unexposed as a stayer; every chance Only raised 2lb for win last autumn; capable fresh but has stamina to prove. |

2nd (2) (13/2 +19%)My Harrison George |
13/2(+19%) | (2) My Harrison George 13/2, Did not get a clear run beaten 6l in a handicap over 10f at Redcar last time; should come on for the run; up in trip; in the mix if stamina holds up Should be sharper for 1m2f reappearance but a 1-16 strike-rate is hardly compelling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/4 +25%)Letmeseethecolts |
9/4(+25%) | (5) Letmeseethecolts 9/4, Improved again when landing a handicap by 3 1/2l off 54 over 12f at Pontefract last time overcoming slow start; steadily progressive; up in trip; threat The way she drew clear over 1m4f latest suggests 1m6f will suit; leading claims. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

TOBY TOPS supplemented his Southwell triumph with an easy victory at Nottingham and a 6lb rise may underestimate the authority he showed that day. If the four-year-old remains in similar form, he will prove tough to stop. Savrola found the gaps when it mattered to get up by a neck at Musselburgh when last seen and would be dangerous to dismiss on his return. Last-time-out Pontefract scorer Letmeseethecolts is another to note.

Perhaps best to focus on thriving 4yos Toby Tops and LETMESEETHECOLTS, with preference for the latter.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

3/1(+40%) | (7) Imperial Guard 3/1, Probably needed race beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Doncaster last time; top course jockey; drop down in trip a plus; in the mix Had strong 6f form for A Balding last season; sharper for stable debut; interesting runner. |

10th (4) (11/2 -83%)Makanah |
11/2(-83%) | (4) Makanah 11/2, Did not get a clear run beaten 1/2l off 85 over 5f at Newcastle last time; looked unlucky that day; up in trip; versatile ground wise; should give a good account on reappearance Conditions no problem and he's on a fair mark; now a 10yo but has gone well fresh before. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Media Shooter improved for the application of cheekpieces when scoring well at Musselburgh on his final start of last season and could have a say on his return to the fray. However, MAKANAH hit the crossbar in a stronger event at Newcastle in November and was possibly unlucky not to win because of his troubled passage. The 10-year-old can go well fresh and is taken to record a second course success. Secret Guest is the pick of the remainder.

Imperial Guard is a big player back at 6f, but C&D winner KINGS MERCHANT had excuses on his return and can resume his progress.

13th (7) (7/2 +30%)Mon Na Slieve |
7/2(+30%) | (7) Mon Na Slieve 7/2, Bit in hand scored by a length off 77 at Musselburgh penultimate start; fourth beaten 2l off 82 last time; threat in open race Two good Musselburgh runs since returned to turf; should remain competitive. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MON NA SLIEVE faced a tougher assignment when fourth at Musselburgh a fortnight ago, although he acquitted himself well having led for most of the way. Successful in this lower grade before that, Kevin Ryan's sprinter has the scope to rate higher and a bold bid is anticipated. Hiya Maite went close at Southwell in March and he can feature, while Tinto won over 6f at the track on a couple of occasions last year and could land a blow.

Alligator Alley can go well but everything looks in place for a big run from READY FREDDIE GO (nap) who can record a sixth C&D win.

16/1(-167%) | (7) Another Baar 16/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 6l in a handicap over 7f at Catterick last time; looked touch unlucky that day; usually held up; up in trip; squeak but finishing efforts a concern All wins at 5f/6f; comes here in reasonable form over 7f; extra yardage today is a concern. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Super Hit and Jez Bomb were both successful in their respective divisions of a handicap here last time. The former is preferred, given he remains unexposed on the grass, but it could be the turn of COSMOS RAJ today. David O'Meara's charge was having his first outing on turf since 2023 when finding only one too good at Wetherby last week. He struck off higher marks on the all-weather last term and looks set to take advantage.

Recent C&D runner-up Mount King is respected but if there's an unexposed one in the line-up it could be the well-bred BERNALDA.
Ths is the racecard key.
