40/1(+0%) | (1) Cotai Belle 40/1, Never a threat when beaten 7l over 5f at Leicester on debut; needs to find more here but that was a 16k Class 2 maiden so the filly must have been showing positive signs on the gallops Always outpaced when eleventh of 15 at Leicester on debut; much more needed. |

17/2(+23%) | (4) Desert Jungle 17/2, 21 Mar; 90,000 euros Bungle Inthejungle filly; half-sister to Devonshire, high-class from 8f to 9f; dam fair at 5f at 2yo; full-brother won on debut; could contend Has the right sort of pedigree and her stable is already off the mark with its 2yos. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

14/1(-17%) | (2) Dance Hello 14/1, 27,000 euros Hello Youmzain filly, 11 Feb; speedily bred representing a top trainer whose yard boast a strike-rate of 56% with their 2yos this season; interesting debutant Half-sister to French Listed-placed 5f 2yo winner; her leading stable runs two. |

10/1(+38%) | (8) Sand Lily 10/1, 6l fourth in a 5f novice at Beverley first-time out; showed good speed on debut before weakening late; may contend with that race under her belt Faded after leading when fourth at Beverley; probably the pick of the pair to have run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (10/11 -25%)Lam Yai |
10/11(-25%) | (6) Lam Yai 10/11, 135,000 euros Lucky Vega filly, 25 Mar; half-sister to One For Bobby, high-class at 10f; dam high-class at 8f; yard boast a strike-rate of 56% with their 2yos this season and looks the pick of their two runners Has a useful pedigree and one of two runners for Karl Burke whose juveniles are flying. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

With very little form to work with, it may pay to side with DAZZLING HAZE, a 130,000-pound yearling who travels up from the Newmarket yard of the Crisfords. The Karl Burke two-year-olds have an excellent strike-rate so far this year, making Lucky Vega filly Lam Yai and Dance Hello, a daughter of Hello Youmzain, ones to keep on side. Beverley fourth Sand Lily looks best of the two with racecourse experience.

Preference for DAZZLING HAZE is only marginal but she has a speedy pedigree and represents a stable that does well with its juveniles.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (11/2 +45%)Equity Law |
11/2(+45%) | (7) Equity Law 11/2, Below par beaten 2 1/2l off 76 here last time, but just hinted at a return to form there and has a chance for top course trainer off this career-low mark if recapturing last season's form Two encouraging runs for this yard; handicapped to win soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 +14%)Squealer |
12/1(+14%) | (1) Squealer 12/1, Returns to the UK after a fruitless spell in Bahrain; comes here off a short break; has possibilities off a falling mark on last season's form but others make more appeal Not at best in Bahrain this winter; returns to Britain off a dangerous mark as a result. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/2 +31%)Master Of My Fate |
11/2(+31%) | (3) Master Of My Fate 11/2, Kept on late off 84 here last time out off a break; four of five wins have come on the AW but won on good to firm on debut; in the mix Fine AW campaign, winning four times; needs to leave latest C&D sixth behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (15/2 +6%)Emeralds Pride |
15/2(+6%) | (6) Emeralds Pride 15/2, Probably needed race when beaten 2l off 76 at Beverley on seasonal return; this Beverley specialist has won at the track, acts on the ground and is in the mix Good run from a wide stall at Beverley 12 days ago but has work to do with Frank The Spark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (11/4 +39%)Alligator Alley |
11/4(+39%) | (5) Alligator Alley 11/4, Below par when beaten 3 1/2l off 77 here last time; a C&D winner for his previous yard, the gelding drops in class and is a threat running off 1lb below his last winning mark Two C&D wins to his name; promise on AW on penultimate start and excuses latest; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (4/1 -45%)Frank The Spark |
4/1(-45%) | (9) Frank The Spark 4/1, Yard won this last year; ran to form beaten 1/2l off 72 at Beverley last time; consistent sprinter, acts on the ground and handled the step up in grade on that last run; contender Running well in defeat this year; still feasibly treated; yard won 4 of last 7 runnings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (33/1 -175%)Pop Star |
33/1(-175%) | (4) Pop Star 33/1, Probably needed the race when beaten 8l at Bath on seasonal return; posted a career-best on soft ground on final start last season but looks vulnerable off this 10lb higher mark Did well last year but looks high in the weights and may need more of a test than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (18/1 -50%)Brazen Bolt |
18/1(-50%) | (2) Brazen Bolt 18/1, Well below form in a curtailed campaign last season, post-race scope revealed gelding had bled on last start; returns from a long layoff; makes first start for new yard; others preferred Lost the plot last summer but starts out for new yard off lowly mark as a consequence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FRANK THE SPARK sits at the bottom of the weights, despite a good second at Beverley earlier in the month off 1lb lower. As this seems to be a race trainer Paul Midgley likes to target (four wins in the last seven renewals), he could be the one. Alligator Alley has won two of his three starts at Thirsk but arrives after eight consecutive losses, and Kodiac Thriller could be the bigger danger assuming he improves for a Pontefract third on his first start for Mark Walford.

Plenty of interest here but Paul Midgley's record in the race tips the scales in favour of the progressive FRANK THE SPARK (nap).

25/1(-233%) | (6) Castan 25/1, Scored by 1/2l off 74 at Newcastle in February; third beaten 3/4l off 75 last time out; the Newcastle specialist has won on turf and handled quick ground last time; threat for in-form trainer Three AW wins this year; good third on turf latest; in the mix with a repeat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 +50%)Curious Rover |
3/1(+50%) | (3) Curious Rover 3/1, Below par beaten 5l in a handicap at Musselburgh last time out; two of his three wins have come on soft but has handled quicker ground in the past, contender if bouncing back to form Promising return to action but failed to back it up last time; career best needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -29%)Muker |
9/2(-29%) | (1) Muker 9/2, Landed a handicap by a nose off 82 here last time out from an unpromising position; that was a second C&D win and the 7yo is in the mix off a 2lb rise Narrow winner of a C&D handicap 2 weeks ago, suited by the fast pace; respected up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (9/2 -13%)Albegone |
9/2(-13%) | (9) Albegone 9/2, Ran to form beaten a short-head off 71 here last time out; suits cut in the ground, but that last run at the track suggested that he may be able to handle quicker ground Closely matched with Muker on recent C&D form; slower ground optimal though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/2 -8%)Burning Cash |
13/2(-8%) | (4) Burning Cash 13/2, Won this last year on good to firm; not beaten far off 80 at Nottingham last time out and could just be coming back to form off a 3lb lower mark than last year Won this race last year off 3lb higher; shaping up for something better in 2 runs in 2025. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (10/1 +17%)Ready Freddie Go |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Ready Freddie Go 10/1, Below par when beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap here last time out; the 7yo is a five-time C&D winner, acts on the ground and races here off a dangerous mark; chance on back form Conditions to suit, on a good mark and blinkers return; a big run looks on the cards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 -69%)Stash The Cash |
11/1(-69%) | (7) Stash The Cash 11/1, Probably needed the race beaten 4l off 75 at Musselburgh last time; represents top course trainer but all three wins have come on softer ground and this quick ground is a concern Three wins last year on slower than good; promising return last month; ground a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (8/1 +50%)Changeofmind |
8/1(+50%) | (2) Changeofmind 8/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark when comfortably held in a handicap at Nottingham when last seen; drops in grade here on return but may not relish fast ground Could yet fulfil early promise but fast ground is a query and he's been off for 199 days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (10/1 +29%)Digital |
10/1(+29%) | (8) Digital 10/1, Well beaten in a handicap at Beverley last time out after hinting at a possible return to form on reappearance; generally out of form; needs to find more Had a wide draw when down the field at Beverley latest; better expected today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MUKER battled on bravely to resist all challengers by a nose here earlier in the month. Although he has an added 2lb, he drops in class and with 5lb claimer Alex Jary keeping the ride, he could double up. Burning Cash won this last year off 3lb higher, but hasn't been seen at the same level since so five-time C&D winner Ready Freddie Go could be the one to chase the suggestion home.

Another competitive event in which multiple C&D scorer READY FREDDIE GO is marginally preferred to Burning Cash.

1st (3) (3/1 +14%)Hallelujah U |
3/1(+14%) | (3) Hallelujah U 3/1, Going possibly on the fast side when fourth beaten 4l in a handicap over 10f at Newmarket last time; first-time cheekpieces up in trip; handled quick ground last time Still has potential but he needs to raise his game on this step up to 1m4f; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (18/1 -29%)Atlantic Sunset |
18/1(-29%) | (4) Atlantic Sunset 18/1, Fourth beaten 9l in a novice at Wolverhampton on last start; makes turf and handicap debut here, so fast ground an unknown; bit to find with the principals Runner-up in two of his four qualifying runs; needs watching in market on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/2 +9%)Raulin |
5/2(+9%) | (1) Raulin 5/2, Looked ideally suited by the 10f trip when scoring comfortably off 75 at Redcar last time out; acts well on the ground and looks a contender upped in trip again Emphatic win on handicap debut at Redcar and he's open to more progress upped to 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (3/1 +25%)Arkinthestars |
3/1(+25%) | (5) Arkinthestars 3/1, Benefited from positive ride when easily winning a 10f Ripon maiden last time; should handle fast ground on handicap debut but a slight question back in mixed company Easy win in Ripon maiden last month and she's respected upped to 1m4f on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (12/1 -100%)Edge Ofthe Unknown |
12/1(-100%) | (2) Edge Ofthe Unknown 12/1, Below-par fourth over 10f at Beverley last time out; should suit the step back up in trip with first-time cheekpieces on here; unproven on fast ground; chance Still early days but he needs improvement with headgear added at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (11/2 +8%)Paratrooper |
11/2(+8%) | (7) Paratrooper 11/2, Well beaten in a 10f maiden at Doncaster last time out; has failed to build on promising debut thus far; quicker ground may help but needs more up in trip on handicap debut No progress in three runs so far but he's a possible improver now switched to a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (11/1 -47%)West Tyrone |
11/1(-47%) | (6) West Tyrone 11/1, Game when scoring off 68 over 8f at Southwell three starts back and third behind Raulin off 73 last time out; sole win over 8f and question marks about the suitability of this trip Looks worth a try at this new trip but he needs to kick on again to make an impact. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HALLELUJAH U was beaten into fourth in a stronger contest at Newmarket earlier in the month and has been dropped 1lb. With the application of first-time cheekpieces a possible source of improvement, along with this rise in trip, he looks the way to go. Raulin had West Tyrone back in third when scoring on his first start in a handicap at Redcar and holds an obvious chance, while Paratrooper isn't out of it either.

Preference is for RAULIN, who kicked off his handicap career with an emphatic front-running win at Redcar two weeks ago.

1st (1) (9/4 +25%)Mirsky |
9/4(+25%) | (1) Mirsky 9/4, Well below form last twice but probably needed race when beaten 10l at Newmarket last time; acts well on good to firm and no surprise to see an improved performance on quicker ground Four wins in France but he's 0-10 in Britain and others are more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/1 -27%)Barley |
7/1(-27%) | (7) Barley 7/1, Below par when a beaten favourite off 79 at Redcar last time out; top course trainer; contender if recapturing last season's form Fair efforts in two runs at Redcar this season but he's only won once since April 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -15%)Rhythm Master |
15/2(-15%) | (2) Rhythm Master 15/2, Unexpectedly below par when beaten 8l here last time but in good form prior to that; both wins over shorter but gets 8f and is capable in Class 2/3 company off this mark Quiet over C&D latest but he was in good form before that; not ruled out back in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/1 +29%)Obelix |
5/1(+29%) | (4) Obelix 5/1, Well below par beaten 6l here last time; both wins in Class 4 events but can contend in higher grades, albeit without winning; gets further On dangerous mark but he's not easy to predict and comes with risks attached. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (22/1 -144%)Redarna |
22/1(-144%) | (6) Redarna 22/1, Probably needed the race on return here last time; admirable veteran is still capable on his day; last three wins in Class 4 events, but still competitive up in class; acts on the track and the going 16-time winner and is only 1lb lower than for last success; dangerous back in a Class 3. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 +11%)Star Studied |
4/1(+11%) | (3) Star Studied 4/1, Bit in hand when winning a Kempton novice when last seen; returns off a long absence here, and makes turf debut, but is unbeaten and looked a potentially smart sort last season Back from lengthy absence but he's 2-2 and looks a useful prospect for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (14/1 +13%)On The River |
14/1(+13%) | (5) On The River 14/1, Weak in the market and comfortably held at Pontefract last time out; in good form prior to that; best form with plenty of cut in the ground and 4lb above highest winning mark Ideally suited by slow ground and was beaten 14l at Pontefract last time; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (17/2 -42%)Quiet Resolve |
17/2(-42%) | (8) Quiet Resolve 17/2, Ran to form beaten 3/4l off 75 at Hamilton last time out; both wins in lower grades on the AW; needs more up in class Went close at Hamilton 13 days ago and he's still lightly raced on turf; respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

STAR STUDIED took a step forward from his debut success to score in comfortable style under a penalty at Kempton in March of last year. James Tate's colt now makes his handicap debut on his comeback and as long as he can transfer his form to turf, he could prove very hard to beat. Quiet Resolve finished a close-up third at Hamilton on his latest outing and is likely to be thereabouts off an unchanged mark. Rhythm Master is next best.

The unbeaten STAR STUDIED looks a useful prospect for handicaps and may well be able to strike again on his comeback to make it 3-3.

6/1(+20%) | (3) Darkness 6/1, Below par when down the field in a handicap over 8f at Newmarket last time and well below form last three starts; in the mix on last season's form but hasn't hinted at that this season On dangerous mark but he's lost his way and needs to turn things around. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/1 -17%)Desert Falcon |
7/1(-17%) | (5) Desert Falcon 7/1, Finished last season strongly with back-to-back wins, scoring off 79 at Ayr final start; open to improvement, acts on the ground, suits the trip and has run fresh previously, albeit in a lower grade Ended last season with two wins including over C&D; needs a close look on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

22/1(-83%) | (2) Documenting 22/1, Game when scoring by 1/2l off 86 at Wolverhampton last time; returns here off an absence; admirable 12yo acts on the ground, retains plenty of ability but may just need this on reappearance 12yo who recorded his 12th win when scoring on AW in December; in the mix on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (11/4 +39%)Probe |
11/4(+39%) | (1) Probe 11/4, Landed a handicap by a head off 86 at Chester last time over 7f; got further in Ireland but has shown best form with cut; still below highest winning mark; contender if handling this quicker Back to form with last-gasp win at Chester ten days ago; respected up 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (33/1 +0%)Arecibo |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Arecibo 33/1, Well below form beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap over 5f at Pontefract last time; a smart sprinter in his heyday, this step up in trip looks a throw of the dice His last win was in 2021 and he's untried at this trip; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (9/1 +0%)The Good Biscuit |
9/1(+0%) | (9) The Good Biscuit 9/1, Below par beaten 3 1/4l off 78 over 6f at Ripon last time; acts well on the ground but suits a sharp 6f and this step up in trip may just stretch stamina up in class Both wins were at 6f in July 2023 and he needs to find more at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (15/2 +0%)Liamarty Dreams |
15/2(+0%) | (6) Liamarty Dreams 15/2, Slightly impeded when beaten 2 1/4l off 83 at Chester last time behind Probe and gets a 3lb pull with that rival; in the mix on last season's form but quicker ground a concern Signs of a revival when fourth behind Probe at Chester and he's not ruled out. |

20/1(-150%) | (8) Federal Envoy 20/1, Game when scored by a short-head off 76 at Southwell penultimate start; sixth beaten 3 1/4l off 78 last time; unproven on fast ground; not out of it but faces stronger opposition up in grade Record of 3-5 at Southwell but was only sixth there last time and he needs more progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (11/1 +31%)Valentine Catcher |
11/1(+31%) | (7) Valentine Catcher 11/1, Slowly away beaten 8l in a handicap over 6f at Southwell last time and well below form last twice; may yet suit 7f, acts on the ground and possibilities for top course trainer on last season's form Won on handicap debut last August but he's been disappointing in three runs since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (40/1 -21%)D Flawless |
40/1(-21%) | (10) D Flawless 40/1, Going probably on fast side beaten 10l in a handicap at Wetherby on return and first start for new yard; sole win in a Class 5 maiden; may not relish fast ground Has found it tough going in handicaps and was in rear on stable debut at Wetherby. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Probe regained the winning thread in this class at Chester last week and is likely to have his supporters off just 3lb higher. However, DESERT FALCON signed off his 2024 campaign with a double after supplementing a C&D triumph at Ayr in September. If the five-year-old returns in similar form, he may prove tough to beat. Documenting is another to watch out for.

The vote goes to PROBE, who got back in the groove with a strong-finishing win at Chester and remains well treated on his old form.

ORBAAN is clearly not the force of old, but the veteran showed more when second over an extended mile at Epsom last month and he could go one better here. Capital Guarantee, a stablemate of the selection, failed to fire at Musselburgh last time but is a player based on his previous Catterick success. Others to note are Visibility, Mount King and Temper Trap.

Top of the list is ORBAAN, who is well treated on his win in the Carlisle Bell last summer and was a good second at Epsom last month.

10/1(+38%) | (2) Kodi Red 10/1, Well held in fourth when beaten 7l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time out; below form last seven Flat starts, has to be taken very much on trust but on a winnable mark on past form Yet to find best form this season and needs to be revived by a return to turf. |

11th (13) (40/1 -21%)Flavius Titus |
40/1(-21%) | (13) Flavius Titus 40/1, Probably needed race when beaten on Newcastle return last time; a pale shadow of the horse he once was, but the veteran is still capable on his day, posted back-to-back wins last summer Veteran who was last of 11 at Newcastle on belated reappearance; others appeal more.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (4) (18/1 -29%)Ribble Radiant |
18/1(-29%) | (4) Ribble Radiant 18/1, Didn't get a clear run when beaten 5l over 7f here last time out; steps back in trip here for first run over 6f, a distance the filly doesn't appear to be crying out for 0-10 since debut win over 7.4f; David Allan jumps ship; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (18/1 +45%)Heroism |
18/1(+45%) | (9) Heroism 18/1, Didn't get a clear run when down the field at Leicester last time out; top course jockey booked but inconsistent and sole win on debut in 2022; others preferred 0-17 since debut win in August 2022; seems out of form and difficult to recommend. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CALAFRIO met trouble in running when a length third as favourite over this distance at Nottingham and she could provide her supporters with some compensation. She has a good record here. Recent Leicester winner Waistcoat is an obvious danger off just a 3lb higher mark, with John Kirkup edging out Captain Vallo and Gis A Sub to be best of the rest.

It's hard to make a solid case for many of these, but HAPPIER drops in grade and should have no difficulty with the conditions.
Ths is the racecard key.
