The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A respectable fourth in a valuable contest at Beverley in May, TROPICAL DREAMER should be suited by going up to 6f and is the one they all have to beat. Dandy Style showed promise first time out when fourth at Carlisle over 5f, while it will be interesting to see how newcomers Circle Of Trust and Horu Kanu fare in the market.

Tropical Dreamer must go well despite the penalty but DANDY STYLE made a fairly eyecatching debut, shaping like this trip will suit.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SUMMER HEAT was no match for a talented sort of Roger Varian's at Wolverhampton last time out, but she had shown up well before that over 7f and this appeals as an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. A winner on debut at Kempton last December, First Principle is likely to find it tougher under a 7lb penalty, whereas Divine Knight looks to be the pick of the newcomers for the Sean Woods team with Daniel Tudhope booked.

Summer Heat, Off Spin and Arf's Duchess all have something to recommend them but FIRST PRINCIPLE looked promising on debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

40/1(-100%) | (1) Dooley 40/1, Probably needed race down the field in a novice over 7f at Doncaster most recent having made a much more encouraging debut last term; needs significant step forward Promise in both 7f runs but likely better suited by handicaps after this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

FOREST CAPER didn't do himself any favours when taking a keen hold and eventually being worn down over slightly shorter at Beverley last month. Daniel Tudhope taking over in the saddle is a big plus on this occasion, though, and as long as he can get the four-year-old settled, he should have enough to see off Gentle Touch, who was a significant improver from first to second start when runner-up over 7f at Wetherby. Secret Force and Wolfpack are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Wolfpack can leave his stable debut behind him but FOREST CAPER has run two promising races and this could be his day.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (33/1 -230%)Phoenix Fire |
33/1(-230%) | (9) Phoenix Fire 33/1, Probably needed race beaten 5l in a handicap over 8f at Beverley last time; generally out of form; 7f suits; fast ground a concern; not firing, bit to prove Winless since 2022; may come on for reappearance effort but he needs to. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ARANTES NASCIMENTO finished a close third in a stronger event at Chester last month and is just 1lb higher. With Tom Marquand taking over in the plate, he could prove hard to beat. Rapido Girl wasn't disgraced in fourth at this level at Catterick and now sports a first-time tongue-tie, so she has to be respected. Saisons D'Or is the pick of the remainder.

The veteran SAISONS D'OR (nap) is taken to resume winning ways back down in trip. Arantes Nascimento is next best.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/1 +45%)Electric Avenue |
11/1(+45%) | (5) Electric Avenue 11/1, Scored by a length off 61 over 8f at Redcar penultimate start; ninth beaten 6 1/4l off 64 last time; usually held up; not tried 7f for a while but suits; unreliable and needs bit more Two wins for new yard since December; not at best last time but could well bounce back. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Electric Avenue failed to supplement her Redcar triumph when well beaten at Wetherby last month but she might be worth another chance. However, despite taking a keen hold, TWILIGHT DIAMOND finished a respectable fifth in this grade at Doncaster last time and was kindly dropped 2lb. He competes off a career-low rating and may prove hard to beat. Leap Day looks best of the rest.

Patontheback could revive soon but LEAP DAY could be the answer in another trappy event.

4th (3) (6/1 +0%)Raulin |
6/1(+0%) | (3) Raulin 6/1, Scored by 3 1/4l off 75 over 10f at Redcar three starts back; bit below form back down in trip fourth beaten 5l off 82 last time; top course jockey; stays 1m4f; can bounce back, player Solid efforts since handicapping, including C&D, but 5l behind Topteam at Chester latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It's hard to get away from TOPTEAM, who beat a subsequent winner and Raulin (fourth) in this grade at Chester last month and the assessor may have been kind to only put him up 6lb. This step up in trip could unlock any amount of improvement and Andrew Balding's colt can remain unbeaten in handicaps. Sir William also has his first attempt at this distance after his fifth at Sandown and is considered, while Rogue Impact isn't out of it either.

This is a marked ease in grade for ROGUE IMPACT and he can resume winning ways. Sir William and Topteam can chase him home.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

The reapplication of a visor proved just the trick for last-time-out York winner Kats Bob, who warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 3lb higher mark and rise in class demands another career-best performance from Ruth Carr's charge and reopposing fourth ROBERTO CARO may exact his revenge. The four-year-old shaped best of those racing on the near side and ticks plenty of the right boxes reverting to the C&D of his penultimate triumph. Easy Peeler can make her presence felt too.

Easy Peeler has more to offer but PALS BATTALION should find this track more to his liking than Ripon last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having justified favouritism and repelled reopposing runner-up Quercus at Wetherby 13 days ago, LADY OF THE GARR looks capable of more in her current vein of form. A 2lb nudge up in the ratings may prove inconsequential for the daughter of Mehmas and a brace could be in the offing. The aforementioned Quercus is unlikely to be far away off 1lb higher in the handicap, while Without Flaw is interesting reverting to 6f.

Maybe Lady Of The Garr's Wetherby's race can provide the answer. CALAFRIO is selected to come out on top of the five who reoppose.
Ths is the racecard key.
