|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (200/1 -150%)Pride Of Place |
200/1(-150%) | (10) Pride Of Place 200/1, Down the field in the Charity Race over 2m at Punchestown most recent; not proven trip; yet to fire over fences; hard to recommend and looks one for handicaps 100-1 when in rear behind Harsh and Maidenstreetprince at Cork last month; passed over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (4) (5/1 -67%)Harsh |
5/1(-67%) | (4) Harsh 5/1, Looked to want further second beaten 2l in a beginners chase chase at Cork latest; steadily progressive; useful handicap hurdler; thereabouts if getting stiff test Runner-up to Mirazur West at Cork on second chase start last month; on the shortlist. |

Willie Mullins saddles two here, with Paul Townend opting to partner Gold Dancer over Karafon. Both have been disappointing of late and are difficult to back with any great confidence. Henry de Bromhead is also double-handed, with Le Coq Hardi appearing the pick of his pair. A dual winner last season and most effective on quick ground, the Youmzain six-year-old should give a good account of himself. Bringing some solid recent form to the table, HARSH gets the nod. Fourth in a good quality contest at Wexford and a runner-up when last seen at Cork on Easter Sunday, it'll come as no surprise if he manages to go a place better now. Not far behind the selection at Cork, Maidenstreetprince warrants respect, while Nowwhatdoyouthink and the returning Talk In The Park are others of interest.

The vote goes to GOLD DANCER, who ran well for a long way over hurdles at Fairyhouse after a break and is excpected to improve here

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (18/1 +64%)The Eye Of Tulla |
18/1(+64%) | (13) The Eye Of Tulla 18/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m6f at Tramore last time; down in trip; regressive; hard to fancy Won twice in 2023 but has been totally out of form since; 7lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (16/1 +36%)Keep Me Posted |
16/1(+36%) | (10) Keep Me Posted 16/1, Well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m6f at Tramore latest; not proven trip; 3m point winner likely to find this inadequate test Four-time point winner; modest form in six chase starts; hard to fancy; 1lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (12/1 -71%)Midnight Eagle |
12/1(-71%) | (8) Midnight Eagle 12/1, Travelled well when landing a handicap by 2 1/2l off 88 over 2m at Limerick last time; 2m on good ground suits; contender with promise of more to come over fences Won Limerick handicap hurdle latest; 7lb higher mark to contend with now on chase bow. |

|PU| (6) (15/2 +25%)Mount Ferns |
15/2(+25%) | (6) Mount Ferns 15/2, Not given hard time beaten 9l in a handicap chase at Clonmel last time where flew home; 2m hurdles winner in autumn; off a short-break; threat with improvement likely Respectable handicap 9l sixth of 13 on chase debut at Clonmel in February; should improve. |

It's difficult to be overly confident about any of these. An eye-catching and controversial sixth on his first start over fences at Clonmel in February, it'll be interesting to see how MOUNT FERNS fares. A winner over flights at Listowel in September, the seven-year-old should be more than capable of making an impact in a contest of this quality. Successful in a point-to-point and ultimately disappointing since, Elusive Prince is of interest switching to the larger obstacles, while Limerick victor Midnight Eagle and the returning Inchidaly Copper are others for the shortlist.

A wide-open affair and although he is a better hurdler, this is a good opportunity for WARM IN GOREY (nap) to gain a 1st chase victory

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (22/1 +0%)The Dara Man |
22/1(+0%) | (5) The Dara Man 22/1, Pulled up in Handicap Chase (Listed) over 2m at Punchestown latest where raced lazily throughout; this much easier; bit to prove if turned out quickly Pulled up in Listed handicap at Punchestown 7 days ago; this is easier but can't recommend. |

Four from five at the venue, GOOD AS HELL is the suggestion in this competitive affair. While failing to make an impact in recent starts, the Philip Fenton-trained 10-year-old clearly thrives here and it'll come as no surprise if she enhances her already impressive record. Fenton also saddles top-weight Linden Arden, with this one a definite player after winning on two of his last four starts. Pulled up when sent off a well-backed favourite at Gowran in March, One Last Tango reportedly 'lost his action'. Knocking on the door prior to that disappointment, he should be able to bounce back now. A final fence faller when still in with every chance at Punchestown in November, Macinamillon is of interest, while Tramore winner Clarens and dual course victor Jack Holiday are others of note.

Recent Tramore scorer CLARENS battled well at Tramore and is unexposed over fences. He may have enough left in the locker to win

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (15) (11/8 +45%)You Oughta Know |
11/8(+45%) | (15) You Oughta Know 11/8, Ran to form fourth beaten 8l in Novices' Hurdle (Listed) at Perth latest; steadily progressive in that sphere; strong stayer; more to come now chasing; big chance Plugged on late when fourth at Perth (3m, good to soft) on latest; likely more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (10/1 +38%)Dartan |
10/1(+38%) | (5) Dartan 10/1, Probably needed race beaten 10l in Handicap Hurdle over 3m1f at Aintree last time; got racing far too early that day; placed on chase debut despite racing lazily; strong claims with improvement likely Second on Galway chase debut; good effort in valuable handicap hurdle at Aintree; chance. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (300/1 -50%)The Mail Train |
300/1(-50%) | (13) The Mail Train 300/1, Down the field in a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Thurles most recent; generally out of form in that sphere; not proven trip; off a short-break; all to do on chase debut Modest form in trio of point-to-points and similar story in four hurdle starts. |

The 134-rated WESTERN FOLD should be one of the main players on this step up in trip in a deep beginners chase. His runner-up spot at Clonmel received a significant boost when the winner went on to be a close second in a Class 1 handicap chase at Sandown. Butcher Hollow is an interesting chasing debutant. He is certainly not short of ability having landed a point-to-point, a bumper and a maiden hurdle by seven lengths (on drying ground) when last seen at Fairyhouse in April. You Oughta Know has been competing in good company over hurdles and is dangerous on his first crack at the bigger obstacles. Backmersackme and Rushmount are others pitching for prize money.

The form of WESTERN FOLD's second to Lombron at Clonmel has worked out well and he will take all the beating if he sees out the trip

66/1(-65%) | (6) Mohera Prince 66/1, Below par down the field in a hunter chase at Cork most recent; went too fast that day; not proven trip; hard to recommend Sole win from 11 attempts in points came in a weak Kildorrery contest, up against it. |

CAUSE FOR COMMENT was nabbed close home by a stablemate in Downpatrick and could pick up compensation. He was nicely clear of the remainder and handles good ground. Keep On Dreaming represents Enda Bolger and Derek O'Connor, and rates a major threat on the back of a runner-up berth in a point-to-point in March. A first-time hood goes on. Revolut Ned ran well for a long way before dropping to third in a hunters chase at Tramore, which gives him prospects. Mon Euil availed of a patient ride to score in a Ballycahane point-to-point and similar tactics could bring him into contention.

Outpointed by a longer-priced stablemate at Downpatrick, CAUSE FOR COMMENT may make amends

11th (1) (12/1 +25%)A New Deck |
12/1(+25%) | (1) A New Deck 12/1, Yard won this last year; 11l third in a maiden point over 3m at Dromahane most recent run; down in trip; bit to find Third in a six-runner bumper at Cork last October, claims not boosted in points. |

John Gleeson is a notable booking for Walk In The Park filly CHOSEN COMRADE. She has moved to Peter Fahey for her track career after winning a Borris House point-to-point in March for Garrett Murphy. Katie's Melody was only 9/4 for her first point-to-point in Lingstown and readily took the honours by six lengths, so she merits plenty of respect. Crohan Lady outran her odds in third in a mares' point-to-point bumper at Cork and that performance will stand her in good stead here. Bly Manor showed marked improvement in her second point-to-point when she strode home by six lengths in Lisronagh, while Peppers Corner was very good off the front in Loughanmore last month and could be lively again.

A hopeful vote goes to BLY MANOR, a stylish point winner and a half-sister to a Grade 1-winning mare

40/1(-43%) | (7) Mr Blaketon 40/1, No worthwhile form in points; tongue-tie first time; back in trip; all to do starting out under rules Well-exposed in points having run eight times without making the first three, tongue-tie. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (200/1 -300%)Tokens Glory |
200/1(-300%) | (11) Tokens Glory 200/1, Below par down the field in a bumper over 2m3f at Cork most recent; modest form in points prior; not proven trip; plenty more needed 0-14 in points placed five times, completely tailed off in a recent bumper at Cork. |

CINAMMON ROLL made good money after taking a Ballycrystal point-to-point in December. He has moved to Gordon Elliott for his racecourse career and could be up to winning a point-to-point bumper on debut. Seeitoldya is another Ballycrystal winner stepping onto a racecourse for the first time. He avails of Derek O'Connor's assistance and a big run is more than likely. Ludovico Sforza represents a more than capable yard and there should be more to come from him after getting up in the final strides at Dromahane. Patrick Mullins is a key booking for Better Times and a market check is advised.

Gordon Elliott may take this with CINAMMON ROLL, a first-time-out point winner for Sam Curling
Ths is the racecard key.
