THE REAL SCREAMER hasn't been running badly in handicaps and travelled well on soft ground at Navan last month before finishing third. He should run his race in this claimer. It was a much better contest than this that Spy finished sixth in on his return to action at Roscommon. All the forecast rain will be music to his ears as he was a close second over hurdles on soft ground at Sligo last summer. Church Mountain is another that will be far from inconvenienced by a deluge as he landed a handicap on rain-softened ground at Limerick last month. Conversely, rain doesn't look ideal for Signor Ferrari who has been in decent form on the Polytrack in Dundalk.

Marginal preference is for THE REAL SCREAMER who brings some consistency from handicaps.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (150/1 -200%)Posh Spirit |
150/1(-200%) | (11) Posh Spirit 150/1, Raven's Pass filly; full-sister to Force, very useful at 6f as 2yo; yard without a winner this year; best watched Unlikely one to make an immediate impact but worth a market check all the same. |

KEVIN THE GREAT could be worth chancing on his second start. His debut sixth in a big field over further at Navan certainly wasn't devoid of ability and it showed that he can handle slow ground. In addition, that form has been well franked. Donnacha O'Brien saddled a treble at the Curragh last Sunday and his Churchill filly Candidly merits a market check ahead of her debut. Ger Lyons introduces Sonoran, a son of Arizona, and similar sentiments apply to him. Willie McCreery takes the wraps off Winters Breath and she shouldn't be ruled out, while Pete's Dream can build upon an opening fifth behind an impressive winner at Leopardstown.

It may pay to take a chance on PETE'S DREAM, who would have finished a lot closer at Leopardstown with a clearer run

2nd (6) (16/1 0%)Howd'yadoit |
16/1(0%) | (6) Howd'yadoit 16/1, 12 Feb; 38,000 euros Nando Parrado colt; half-brother to Tierney, very useful at 7f; dam smart at 8f; probably best watched if market suggests otherwise Respected source but stable jockey prefers Baby Basma. |

28/1(+15%) | (9) Igetakickoutofyou 28/1, 27 Mar; 5,000 euros Bungle Inthejungle filly; dam fair at 7f at 2yo; stable runs a couple; market should reveal more Bungle Inthejungle filly a 5,000Euros yearling; likely all the better for the experience. |

SPRING IS HERE began her career in Listed company in the Curragh and outran her odds when beaten just over two lengths into fourth. The winner has followed up in a Group 3 to endorse the form. Spring Is Here's full brother won a Group 3 on testing ground, so she ought to handle slower conditions. Rogue Legend is a contender, but has to give 9lb to Spring Is Here. He got off the mark with a comfortable success on his second start which had connections eyeing the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot. Baby Basma warrants respect on the back of a debut victory in Cork, while Pints In Peace showed up well in fourth at the Curragh.

Rogue Legend is greatly respected but may find the concession of 9lb to SPRING IS HERE too much

9/1(+25%) | (1) Viamonte 9/1, Beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden here last time where went too fast; in good form prior; each way claims Needs to settle better than recent run here; previous Cork effort gives him a big shout. |

BEST SUGGESTION ran a fine race on debut in Navan when beaten two lengths into third. Granted normal improvement, he should be heavily involved. He's due to encounter slower ground, however, his sire won a Group 3 on soft ground. Shoney is going the right way after a fourth place in Dundalk and a runner-up berth at Sligo. She is housed in stall one and has plenty going for her. This Ain't Texas began his career in a hot race at Naas almost a year ago and wasn't disgraced in fourth. He didn't build upon that at Cork in October, but there is still time for him to do so. There is likely to be more to come from expensive-purchase Morally Sound.

Viamonte shades it on form but could be vulnerable to less exposed 3yos Shoney and BEST SUGGESTION, the latter preferred

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (4/1 +60%)Emerald Harmony |
4/1(+60%) | (3) Emerald Harmony 4/1, Yard won this last year; scored by a head off 77 at Bellewstown three starts back; went too fast last time; C&D winner; can make presence felt Below best at Navan last time and good bit to find with Harry's Hill and Bold Optimist. |

A combination of the handicapper loosening his grip and a recent wind operation saw HARRY'S HILL bounce back to form in second at Navan. He was only collared in the closing stages of that higher-grade contest which bodes well for this assignment. Fair Taxes was backed down to favouritism for a valuable handicap in Chester this month, but finished sixth. He was in a consistent vein of form before that outing. Bold Optimist was a place behind Harry's Hill in third at Navan and has three lengths to find. He has been dropped 4lb, though. Sturlasson is really plummeting down the weights and is going to spark back into life sooner rather than later.

Harry's Hill deserves plenty of respect, but a chance is taken on the improving 3yo SARAHMAE

|PU| (6) (300/1 -140%)Moment Of Prayer |
300/1(-140%) | (6) Moment Of Prayer 300/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability in bumpers or all over hurdles; back in trip; all to do Tailed off in a bumper and was 150-1 when departing early on hurdling debut. |

KILMEADEN's runner-up spot in a maiden at Ballinrobe received a massive boost when the winner followed up in good style in Listed class at Navan. Galileo colt Kilmeaden holds an entry in the Irish Derby and sets a more than useful standard. Given the form of Paddy Twomey's stable, newcomer Pharos Freedom is of interest. It is worth noting that Twomey saddled the horse that beat Kilmeaden in Ballinrobe, so he will have a handle on what is required. Light Up The Dark didn't cut much ice in another maiden at Ballinrobe, however, she is a Listed bumper winner and a return to slower ground will definitely help her. Ardashir is another debutant worth checking for market strength.

The form that KILMEADEN (nap) produced at Ballinrobe looks all the stronger now with the winner following up in a Listed race.

11th (6) (66/1 +0%)My Minervina |
66/1(+0%) | (6) My Minervina 66/1, Below par down the field in a claimer over 7f here most recent where went too fast; generally out of form; returning from long layoff; up in trip; lot to find Three-time winner but left Peter Fahey in poor form and has been off for a year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (10/1 +60%)Beer With The Boys |
10/1(+60%) | (8) Beer With The Boys 10/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off 54 over 1m6f at Sligo last time; down in trip; has dropped to attractive mark; consistent; contender Quite keen on his return from an absence at Sligo (1m5f, good) so did well to be placed. |

BILLIE FRECHETTE is holding her form on the Flat and over hurdles really well and could double her career total. She hasn't been out of the first four in her last eight races under both codes and was successful over 2m at Dundalk in March. Plunkett Street has to be feared after winning in Cork last month. The fact that the placed horses both came out and won on their next starts enhances his case off 5lb higher. Slieve Bearnagh was mowed down by the winner in Limerick, but finished well clear of the remainder in second which gives him claims. Beer With The Boys and Tassarolo are others to consider.

Any number with chances but the suggestion is BILLIE FRECHETTE who has been holding her own under both codes this year.
Ths is the racecard key.
