1st (3) (6/4 -88%)Kenzoko |
6/4(-88%) | (3) Kenzoko 6/4, Finished second, beaten 7 1/2l in a handicap hurdle here last time. Trainer in form; likely to want further than 2m but acts with cut. Type to progress in handicaps, form strongly boosted since, and looks fairly treated with clear claims. Bumped into a big improver when second over C&D on recent handicap debut; same mark today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/4 +17%)Lexie's Moon |
11/4(+17%) | (2) Lexie's Moon 11/4, Back below her last winning mark, returned to form when beaten 2l off a 2lb lower mark at Fontwell last time. Effective at 2m and handles cut; inconsistent overall, but well handicapped on her best efforts. Creditable second of 14 at Fontwell this month and today's shorter trip will also suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 -43%)El Jefe |
5/1(-43%) | (1) El Jefe 5/1, Had too much to do after conceding first run when beaten 3l off a 3lb lower mark at Haydock last time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut; fairly treated if building on that recent revival, and will want a strong pace to aim at. Placed in higher-grade race at Haydock last month and conditions will suit here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 +45%)The Longest Day |
12/1(+45%) | (5) The Longest Day 12/1, Offered no obvious excuse when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time. Effective from 2m2f to 3m but unreliable in profile. Ended last year with a poor 3m run and would appeal more on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (20/1 -43%)Lupus Regem |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Lupus Regem 20/1, Showed better form off a reduced mark when third, beaten 13l, in a handicap hurdle at Leicester most recently. Blinkers on for the first time; effective at 2m and acts with cut. Not the force of old since a layoff and needs to build on that run. Latest run was big step back in right direction but overall profile remains unappealing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

KENZOKO produced his best effort so far when runner-up on his handicap debut over C&D and the handicapper has left him on the same mark. He has further assistance with Lewis Saunders taking 3lb off and this appears to be a winnable contest on paper. Lexie's Moon bounced back to form when second at Fontwell and she is capable of being in the mix. El Jefe completes the shortlist.

Preference is for well-handicapped class-dropper EL JEFE (nap), who kept on strongly for second at Haydock just before Christmas.

2/1(+40%) | (8) Tales Of Bravery 2/1, Improved for debut experience when third, beaten 5l, in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts with cut in the ground. Likely capable of better for a top yard. Third here just before Christmas and he kept on quite well once headed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (12) (7/1 -100%)Halftheworldaway |
7/1(-100%) | (12) Halftheworldaway 7/1, Very promising debut behind more experienced rivals when third, beaten 7l, in a maiden hurdle at Wetherby. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on soft ground. The drop in trip may not be ideal but she is a clear threat. Finished a 7l third at Wetherby (2m3f) despite racing freely; open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (16/5 +36%)Up To Trix |
16/5(+36%) | (10) Up To Trix 16/5, From a yard that has won two of the last five renewals of this race. Green and made mistakes when fourth, beaten 18l, in a maiden hurdle here on debut. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (5/2 +29%)Roses All The Way |
5/2(+29%) | (13) Roses All The Way 5/2, The yard has won two of the last eight renewals of this race. Green and made mistakes but improved when comfortably held in the Listed Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Haydock last time. Second run after wind surgery; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground. Should be able to win a maiden and the one to beat down in class. Respectable bumper form; this is easier than her latest Listed assignment. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (200/1 -700%)Yourcardismarked |
200/1(-700%) | (11) Yourcardismarked 200/1, Outpaced and modest on debut when well beaten in an amateurs' bumper at Warwick. Has plenty to prove now switched to hurdles. 60,000euros 3yo; prominent to a point but ended up tailed off in his bumper at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (12/1 +14%)All One Word |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (125/1 -150%)Corsican Caper |
125/1(-150%) | (3) Corsican Caper 125/1, Made too much use of when finishing down the field in a handicap at Wolverhampton on his latest start. Consistent on flat but likely to need this initial experience. Had a lot of racing on the Flat (5-57) and stuck on a long losing run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (200/1 -203%)Bargain Hunter |
200/1(-203%) | (2) Bargain Hunter 200/1, Failed to build on his debut when well beaten in a bumper at Aintree last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft ground, but he needs to improve now switched to hurdles. Tailed off in an Aintree bumper a month ago and previously finished last at Market Rasen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (150/1 -200%)Lancier Des Obeaux |
150/1(-200%) | (7) Lancier Des Obeaux 150/1, Stopped quickly and was well beaten in a bumper at Fontwell on his only start. Has it all to prove starting out over hurdles. 50-1 and came home last in a bumper at Fontwell (behind throughout). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (10/1 -54%)Kingdom Of Stars |
10/1(-54%) | (6) Kingdom Of Stars 10/1, Ran to form when second, beaten 14l, in a handicap at Southwell last time. 2m flat winner was consistent in that sphere. Market can guide on hurdle debut. 2m Flat winner so has the stamina for hurdling and has joined a respected yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (12/1 +0%)Tony Joe |
12/1(+0%) | (9) Tony Joe 12/1, Green and made mistakes when third, beaten 35l, in a maiden hurdle at Fakenham last time, running below bumper form. Effective at 2m and acts on good ground. His bumper win has been franked; may improve for a new yard with the drop in trip likely to suit. Bumper winner on good; 35l off the winner on hurdle debut at Fakenham (soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 -136%)Jet Steel |
33/1(-136%) | (4) Jet Steel 33/1, Improved for debut experience when third, beaten 3 1/4l, in a bumper at Plumpton last time. Returns from a short break; effective at 2m and acts on soft ground. Bumper form has taken knocks, so needs more over hurdles. Third in his latest bumper but he'll probably need longer trips than this over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (100/1 -300%)Jonzac |
100/1(-300%) | (5) Jonzac 100/1, Showed improvement when winning a maiden point at Tinahely by 3/4l last time. Returns from a long layoff. A 3m point winner, and the market may be the best guide on his hurdle debut. Bought for 25,000euros after making it fifth-time lucky in Irish points in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (500/1 -400%)Seekingrainbows |
500/1(-400%) | (14) Seekingrainbows 500/1, Recharge mare; half-sister to Look For Love, who was useful at 21f; yard better known for flat exploits. Half-sister to two winning hurdlers but this is a very belated debut aged eight. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TALES OF BRAVERY left behind a disappointing effort on his hurdling debut at Chepstow when finishing third here and Dan Skelton's gelding makes plenty of appeal with the likelihood of more to come. Halftheworldaway placed at Wetherby on Boxing Day and the drop in trip may see her in a better light. Others to note are hurdling newcomer Jet Steel and Up To Trix.

If ROSES ALL THE WAY can deliver her good bumper form over hurdles then she'd be up to winning a race like this.

1st (2) (9/4 -13%)Sunnyvilla |
9/4(-13%) | (2) Sunnyvilla 9/4, Travelled well and looked the winner before being outbattled late, a late error proving costly when beaten 1/2l off a 4lb lower mark at Haydock last time. Effective at 2m on heavy and good ground; arrives in form with a fair mark. Could be tough to peg back with ease lead possible. Ran big race in defeat at Haydock last month and can make presence felt again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (3/1 +33%)Cabhfuilfungi |
3/1(+33%) | (3) Cabhfuilfungi 3/1, Outpaced and never threatened when well beaten in a handicap chase at Haydock on latest outing. In good form prior to that. Effective between 2m and 2m4f and may be worth a slight step back up in trip. Didn't fire at Haydock last time but previous Cheltenham fifth was very creditable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 +0%)Admiral Stewart |
9/1(+0%) | (4) Admiral Stewart 9/1, Never travelled and failed to handle the sharp track when fourth, beaten 55l, in a handicap chase at Windsor latest. Effective at 2m on soft ground, though his current mark looks high. Still lightly raced but needs to get back on track after two very poor runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (15/8 -25%)Jaipaletemps |
15/8(-25%) | (5) Jaipaletemps 15/8, Won comfortably, improving with a patient ride off a strong pace in a race that developed early, landing a handicap by 5 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark at Taunton last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f, suited by cut, and progressive for his new yard. Drew clear for comfortable success at Taunton last week, his fourth win since November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (9/1 -13%)Xcitations |
9/1(-13%) | (1) Xcitations 9/1, Below form at a favoured venue when failing to stay but ran well to a point, finishing 17l third in a handicap chase at Sandown on latest start. Returns from a long layoff; effective at 2m on soft and good ground; on last winning mark but often needs the reappearance run. Won off reduced mark last February but absent since lesser effort last March. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

JAIPALETEMPS continued his fine run of form when scoring in comfortable fashion at Taunton last week and the seven-year-old may prove a tough nut to crack in his bid for a fifth victory of the season. Sunnyvilla improved from his return at Haydock when finishing second at the same venue last month and he is likely to be competitive along with Xcitations.

Thriving 7yo JAIPALETEMPS continues to make good progress and is selected to extend his winning spree.

1st (6) (4/1 -45%)My Noble Lord |
4/1(-45%) | (6) My Noble Lord 4/1, Ran to form and did best of those coming from off the pace when fourth, beaten 12l, in a handicap chase at Haydock latest. Effective at 2m, handles soft and good to soft ground, and is generally consistent. Looks on a good mark based on hurdle form. Chance on his second at Wetherby and cheekpieces return; some stamina doubts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (2/1 +43%)Kamaxos |
2/1(+43%) | (2) Kamaxos 2/1, Scored by a head off a 3lb lower mark at Leicester over hurdles on his penultimate start. Made too much use of when sixth, beaten 11l off 116 last time, and is 1lb lower here. Effective from 2m to 2m5f, acts on soft and good, and remains well treated on his best form. Bled when tried fences once before; recently won over hurdles and just 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (8/1 -33%)Master Breffni |
8/1(-33%) | (4) Master Breffni 8/1, Below form up in class and possibly unsuited by the drop in trip when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Haydock last time. Effective from 2m to 2 1/2m, handles any ground, and was progressive until that latest effort. Struggled last time at Haydock but headed there in a fine run of form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (6/1 0%)Cahier's Den |
6/1(0%) | (8) Cahier's Den 6/1, Needed the run and may have found the ground too soft when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Carlisle last time. Off a short break, effective from 2m to 2m5f, acts on good to soft and good ground, and was consistent until that latest run. May have more to offer now switched to fences. Placed in maiden hurdles; successful pointer who may raise his game now sent chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (4/1 +50%)Karuma Grey |
4/1(+50%) | (1) Karuma Grey 4/1, Returned to form when proving stamina, beaten 4l off a 1lb lower mark at Ffos Las last time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m, handles heavy and soft ground, and looks well handicapped if building on that revival. Good run last season; effective on heavy so softer it gets the better his chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/2 +45%)Abbeydale |
11/2(+45%) | (3) Abbeydale 11/2, Made a bit too much use of in first-time cheekpieces when fourth, beaten 6 1/4l, in a handicap chase at Wetherby latest. Effective from 2m4f to 3m and acts on soft to heavy ground but may have been flattered by a novice outlier. His 4th at Wetherby in this new headgear combination was a step in the right direction. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (14/1 -40%)Quick Sharpener |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Quick Sharpener 14/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Southwell on his latest start. Effective over 2 1/2m on good ground but remains inconsistent and conditions a worry. Won last April so capable of a big run but he comes with a good few risks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (40/1 -150%)Clonakilty |
40/1(-150%) | (7) Clonakilty 40/1, Made mistakes and needed the run when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Ayr most recently. Off a short break, effective over 2 1/2m, and suited by some cut in the ground but has a bit to prove for his new yard. Left Olly Murphy for £12,000; at 50-1 was completely tailed off at Ayr in November. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KARUMA GREY bounced back to form when filling second place at Ffos Las earlier in the month and a repeat of that level of form would give him a big chance here. My Noble Lord is capable of going well in a race of this nature and may benefit from the reapplication of cheekpieces. Master Breffni and Abbeydale are others to note.

None of these are entirely convincing. MY NOBLE LORD has the cheekpieces back on and he should go close if seeing out the trip.

1st (3) (13/2 +35%)Warriors Destiny |
13/2(+35%) | (3) Warriors Destiny 13/2, Still green and made mistakes but improved for debut experience when 14l third in a maiden hurdle at Warwick last time. Effective up to 2m4f and acts on soft. That form has been strongly franked, and he can progress again. Form of his Warwick third has worked out well so interesting here on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (13/8 +41%)In The Age |
13/8(+41%) | (4) In The Age 13/8, Improved again down in trip, showing a willing attitude when winning a novice hurdle at Catterick by a neck last time. Effective from 2m4f to 2m7f and acts on soft and good to soft. More to come from this top yard. Makes handicap debut after winning a Catterick novice (front two well clear). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (11/4 +31%)Codetalker |
11/4(+31%) | (7) Codetalker 11/4, Improved slightly on handicap debut when winning by 3 1/4l off a 5lb lower mark at Fakenham last time. Effective over 2m and acts on soft. His debut form has worked out very well, the 5lb rise looks lenient, and a stiffer track should suit. This looks stronger than the Fakenham handicap he won but going further should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/1 -167%)Orderoftheday |
6/1(-167%) | (1) Orderoftheday 6/1, Produced a solid effort under a penalty when 3l third in a novice hurdle at Leicester last time. The trainer is in form. Effective over 2m1f on soft, and a longer trip looks a plus based on point form. More to come now handicapping. No backward step when beaten under a penalty last time; makes handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 +13%)Gege Ville |
7/1(+13%) | (6) Gege Ville 7/1, Made mistakes but travelled well before being outstayed late up in trip as fitness gave way when 6l third in a handicap hurdle at Haydock last time. Effective around 2 1/2m and acts on heavy, soft, and good to soft. In good form and should come on for that run, with more to offer. Lightly raced 10yo who has been competitive in all his handicap hurdles from 2m3f to 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (33/1 -200%)Locquirec |
33/1(-200%) | (2) Locquirec 33/1, Disappointed on stable debut when beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden hurdle at Ayr last time. Effective at 2m and suited by cut in the ground. Showed promise in France, though this mark demands more. He should come on for his run in an Ayr maiden, especially now sent further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (18/1 +18%)Galassian |
18/1(+18%) | (5) Galassian 18/1, Needed the run after wind surgery when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. This is his second run after the operation. Effective between 2 1/2m and 3m, acts on soft and good ground. Needs more to defy this mark back over hurdles. Never took to fences and was tailed off back over hurdles after a wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (25/1 -39%)Lucky One |
25/1(-39%) | (8) Lucky One 25/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Sandown last time. Usually held up. Effective at around 2 1/2m and suited by cut in the ground. Fairly treated on French form but unreliable. Runs well now and again but a generally regressive 11yo and others appeal more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Codetalker has to be respected following his Fakenham success shortly before Christmas, but marginal preference is for GEGE VILLE. The 10-year-old made the frame at Haydock on his return and he is entitled to improve significantly for that outing. In The Age is likely to be popular on his handicap debut after his Catterick win, while Orderoftheday completes the shortlist.

Although WARRIORS DESTINY was well held when third in a Warwick maiden last time, that form is working out positively.

9/2(-35%) | (8) Jo Coko 9/2, Needed the run on chase debut when 14l third in a handicap chase at Newcastle last time. That form has been franked. Cheekpieces on for the first time; effective at 3m and handles soft and good to soft ground; more to come now chasing over further. Irish point winner and promising hurdle form; can leave his first run over fences behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 +25%)Hillcrest |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Hillcrest 9/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time; visor applied for the first time. Effective from 2m4f to 3m and handles soft ground. Formerly smart but needs to jump better. Disappointing chaser; never going before pulled up at Cheltenham and now tries a visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 +43%)Pierrot Jaguen |
4/1(+43%) | (2) Pierrot Jaguen 4/1, Made mistakes but improved from debut when beaten 2l off this mark at Wetherby last time. Trainer in form; effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and may have more to offer if brushing up on jumping. Close up at Wetherby in his second chase despite the jumping lacking some fluency. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (5/1 -25%)Mount Gay Run |
5/1(-25%) | (6) Mount Gay Run 5/1, Had every chance and ran to form when fourth, beaten 6l, in a handicap hurdle at Ascot last time, possibly outstayed over 3m. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and handles soft ground; in good form and unexposed over fences; threat if stamina holds up. Beaten 6l off this mark in an Ascot handicap hurdle last time; still unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (11/4 +8%)Paper Mill |
11/4(+8%) | (7) Paper Mill 11/4, Improved to win a handicap by 3 1/2l off a 6lb lower mark here last time. Returns from a short break; effective at 3m and handles soft and good ground. Consistent performer whose latest form has been franked; remains competitive. C&D winner two months ago and the runner-up has done his bit to advertise that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (11/1 -10%)Madaket |
11/1(-10%) | (4) Madaket 11/1, Had every chance and ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap chase here last time. Effective up to 3m and handles soft and good to soft ground; unreliable and needs more. Third at Ffos Las in Oct but comfortably held in his three other handicap chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (11/1 -47%)Aboutdamntime |
11/1(-47%) | (3) Aboutdamntime 11/1, Stable won this race last year. Scored by 3/4l off a 2lb lower mark at Catterick on his penultimate start. Effective from 2 1/2m to 3m and handles soft and good ground; fairly treated and should be competitive. Handy throughout and just missed out at Wetherby (3m, soft); just 1lb higher here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (12/1 -33%)Double Click |
12/1(-33%) | (5) Double Click 12/1, Outpaced and a bit below form when fourth, beaten 19l, in a handicap hurdle here last time. Returns from a short break; effective from 2m to 3m and prefers some give; generally consistent until that run. Touch more required switched to fences. Four-time hurdle winner but lacking experience over regulation fences is not ideal. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Aboutdamntime failed to supplement his Catterick triumph when third at Wetherby, but that was still a good effort and he remains of interest. Jo Coko sports first-time cheekpieces after finishing third of four at Newcastle and is noted, but PAPER MILL gets the nod. Stuart Edmunds' veteran struck by more than three lengths over track and trip and considering the manner of that success, he could go in again.

Mount Gay Run is feared but the form of PAPER MILL's win here two months ago looks very solid.

3/1(-50%) | (1) Eton Mes 3/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 29l, in a maiden hurdle at Exeter last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f on soft or good to soft ground. The longer trip should suit on handicap debut but needs more to figure. Unplaced all three starts over hurdles but makes handicap debut and could be unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 -13%)Thorgath |
9/2(-13%) | (4) Thorgath 9/2, Still green but showed improvement when finishing down the field in a novice hurdle at Ludlow most recently. Effective at 2m on good to soft ground and likely to need more time over hurdles. Well held in 2m hurdles; hopes rest on this step up in distance for handicap debut. |

5/2(+17%) | (6) Walkinthepresent 5/2, Outpaced and continued in poor form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle here last time. Effective at 3m in points and may find this trip of 2m on the short side. Big odds when tailed off at around 2m; could take off now up in trip on handicap debut. |

4th (3) (11/1 +45%)Tech That |
11/1(+45%) | (3) Tech That 11/1, Outpaced and below form after a wind operation when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Doncaster last time. This is his second run since the procedure. Effective at 2m1f on soft ground and may do better now handicapping, probably needs this bit further. Some promise in 2024 but little encouragement since and excuses are wearing thin. |

5th (5) (10/1 +0%)Richardson |
10/1(+0%) | (5) Richardson 10/1, Needed the run and performed well to a point when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Leicester last time. Had been in good form prior. Usually held up and effective around 2½m on soft ground. Likes the track and should improve for the outing. C&D winner; two successes this time last year; probably needed reappearance; possibilities. |

|PU| (2) (9/2 +82%)Tarbuck |
9/2(+82%) | (2) Tarbuck 9/2, Had every chance and ran to form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Leicester last time. Effective around 2½m and suited by cut in the ground. Likes the track and returns on his last winning mark. Sole win came over C&D; well held this season but return to Uttoxeter could spark revival. |

|PU| (7) (12/1 -243%)Rock On Tommy |
12/1(-243%) | (7) Rock On Tommy 12/1, Outpaced and never threatened when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Trainer is in form. Effective from 2m to 2½m and acts on any going. Well treated on old form, goes well at the track but inconsistent of late. Four course wins but disappointing here just before Christmas and needs a revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ETON MES has shown ability in each of his three starts over hurdles, with his best effort arguably his latest fourth at Exeter. David Pipe's charge now takes a step back up in distance on his handicap bow and could defy an opening rating of 100. Richardson was last of five on his return at Leicester, but might be worth another chance. Rock On Tommy completes the shortlist.

The veteran RICHARDSON goes well on soft ground and gets the vote ahead of fellow C&D winner Tarbuck.
Ths is the racecard key.
