(5) It's Maisy 8/11, Made the perfect start in handicaps at Market Rasen and followed up over a still longer trip at Catterick, albeit in fortuitous fashion. Has remained in good order since, responding well when second at Wetherby last time, and could get back to winning ways in a weak race.

15:59 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

It's Maisy has filled the runner-up spot in this grade on each of her last two outings, so she has to be considered off 3lb higher than the latest of those displays. Lepashe can also go well, but the verdict is for SANDY BROOK, who is back over hurdles following three underwhelming chase starts and could be well treated off 95 judged on the pick of his form in 2021.

IT'S MAISY has been progressive this season and she'd arguably have won at Wetherby last time but for a late error. She's hard to get away from. Lepashe, down in grade, could be a player, while Ebendi also has a shout in a thin handicap.

Proven stamina and effectiveness in the mud earn the vote for the in-form mare IT'S MAISY. Ebendi is second choice.

16:30 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MISS MAVERICK outran her big odds to only be denied by four lengths when second behind a well-fancied favourite at Hereford earlier in the month and the drop in trip looks like a good move. Gary Hanmer's seven-year-old looks to have found a good opportunity to go one better, with her main danger possibly being Give Me A Boom, who has run with credit in each of his three starts over the smaller obstacles. Of the remainder, Let's Sail Away makes the most appeal after his fifth at Doncaster.

GIVE ME A BOOM ran well at Southwell on his penultimate outing, then shaped as if stretched by the trip at Newcastle last time, so he's worth a chance to open his account under more suitable conditions. Miss Maverick and The Grey Man are the obvious dangers.

Calculations are dominated by just three of these runners and THE GREY MAN is preferred to Miss Maverick and Give Me A Boom.

17:00 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RIVER TYNE has hit the crossbar on each of her last two outings in this grade and she goes off an unchanged mark. Nick Gifford's point-to-point winner can get her head in front for the first time under Rules. The main threat might be Higgs, who finished second at Ffos Las last time and the veteran could be a player off 3lb higher, while Twilight Glory may get involved if he bounces back from his below-par sixth at Chepstow.

RIVER TYNE finished runner-up for the seventh time in 11 chase starts at Huntingdon at the beginning of the month and she is taken to go one better this time around. Twilight Glory had been in good form prior to his latest outing and could be the main danger, ahead of Conceroe.

The first-time blinkers may be a positive for PEBBLY NEW MOON and he is the selection ahead of River Tyne.

17:35 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

OMAR MARETTI should appreciate this ease in class having finished third in a 0-150 event at Carlisle earlier this month. Alex Hales' veteran is now only 1lb higher than his 35-length romp at Catterick in February and a return to the winner's enclosure could be in the offing. Anti Bridgie showed more verve in first-time cheekpieces when making all in a novice chase at Warwick last time out. The seven-year-old mare is a viable alternative to the selection, while Belargus and Hudson De Grugy also warrant a second look.

BELARGUS has returned to some sort of form and can cash in on a much-reduced mark. Omar Maretti has produced a couple of sound efforts after winning at Catterick and can make the frame again, with Anti Bridgie another player back in a handicap.

The most solid option appears to be ANTI BRIDGIE, who will be suited by the step up in trip after her odds-on win last time.

18:10 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although respected, an 8lb rise for Il Va De Soi's Chepstow triumph demands more from him. The six-year-old may be worth taking on, possibly with fellow in-form rival DAMARTA making most appeal. The son of Martaline should relish this step up in distance if judged on his breeding and he's taken to regain the winning thread. Cloud Dancer's opening mark looks somewhat stiff judged on his latest defeat at Plumpton, but a first-time visor may spark some improvement.

MR BRAMLEY is two from two over hurdles and appears to have been let in lightly for handicaps, so he's a confident choice to get the better of Il Va de Soi, who is also going the right way. Damarta should get back on track and looks the pick of the remainder.

The progressive MR BRAMLEY (nap) looks on a very reasonable mark for his handicap debut and he can win again.

18:45 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MA BELLE ARTISTE found only a subsequent winner too strong at Haydock last month and a mark of 92 looks potentially lenient now entering handicaps in this sphere. Robert Bevis' filly has shown some smart form on the Flat and she should take all the beating if continuing her progression. Billams Legacy made a most encouraging reappearance from a 460-day layoff when runner-up at Fakenham earlier this month. The nine-year-old should give another good account, while Walkinthecotswolds is unlikely to be far away either.

Ready preference is for MA BELLE ARTISTE, who was a good second to a useful type at Haydock last time and she could be about to take another sizeable step forward now pitched into a handicap. Billams Legacy is second choice on the back of her solid reappearance effort at Fakenham and Walkinthecotswolds could be in line for minor place money.

Walkinthecotswolds and BILLAMS LEGACY travelled best entering the closing stages last time out. They may be the principals in this.

19:20 Uttoxeter NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The form of WALKADINA's debut second has worked out well, with the third coming out to win next time, so David Pipe's mare ought to hold every chance with improvement likely. Point winner Dream Shadow represents a team that have enjoyed plenty of success in these types of contests and she is an obvious candidate despite her lack of experience, while Blue Las, who must shoulder a penalty having struck at Southwell 20 days ago, should not be underestimated.

WALKADINA made a bright start in a similar event at Hereford 7 weeks ago having been well backed and she makes plenty of appeal with improvement in the offing. Dream Shadow is an interesting newcomer, while Roaring Home could have a race like this in her.

Former pointer WALKADINA showed enough on her debut to suggest she can win a race like this. Roaring Home should also go well.

19:50 Uttoxeter NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Austins Hill Lass bolted up in an Alnwick point-to-point and appeals as a likely type on today's Rules debut, but a chance can be taken on SWALLOWFIELDS. Harry Derham hasn't sent out many in bumpers since taking out his license in late 2022, but he has an excellent record when doing so (5-15), so it would come as no surprise were the selection to make an immediate impact. Others to note include Jesuila Des Mottes and Goddess Afrana.

AUSTINS HILL LASS makes plenty of appeal on paper as a wide-margin point bumper winner and she gets the vote over Swallowfields and Jesuila des Mottes.

Having joined a top yard since her easy win in a point bumper in January, AUSTINS HILL LASS is selected to make a winning rules debut.
