LIVERPOOL KNIGHT appeared revitalised by a 150-day break when gaining a first success in this sphere over C&D earlier in the month, and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to prevent Olly Murphy's gelding from going in again. Just A Mystery posted a fair fifth on stable debut at Stratford recently and a similar level of performance should see the five-year-old involved here, along with Hedera Park.

LIVERPOOL KNIGHT opened his hurdles account in ready fashion over C&D 17 days ago and, with a return to less testing ground unlikely to inconvenience him, he's selected to defy a penalty. Star Legend has quite a bit of ground to make up with the selection but should get closer this time and rates the main threat.

Olly Murphy's LIVERPOOL KNIGHT delivered on last season's hurdling promise when winning pretty comfortably over C&D this month.

COLONEL LESLEY displayed a willing attitude when recording a quick-fire double at Stratford and Newton Abbot last season. The seven-year-old has since joined the Brian Barr yard and a hat-trick looks likely off only 3lb higher. Good Impression and George Mallory are other interesting contenders, with the former feared most on the basis that he's a two-time C&D winner and was in good form when last competing in this sphere.

Having won on the level in May, A SHINING MOON looked to have the race won back hurdling at Hexham, only to be collared late. That performance suggests he's up to landing a race such as this, with Theonlywayiswessex and Colonel Lesley, on return for a new yard, feared most.

Ben Haslam's LIGHTENING COMPANY was well beaten on his handicap hurdle debut but remains of strong interest if judged on Flat form.

ROCK ON TOMMY arrives here off 1lb lower than last Wednesday's C&D success in a conditional jockeys' event, and the son of Fair Mix is hard to oppose in his current mood. Ten Past Midnight wasn't far behind in second on that occasion and could finish closer with Sean Bowen now taking over in the saddle. A bigger threat, however, could emerge from last-time-out winner Ambassador, who is only 6lb higher.

ROCK ON TOMMY escapes a penalty for last week's success in a conditional jockeys' event and can complete a quickfire C&D hat-trick. Ten Past Midnight chased home the selection last week and can fill the forecast spot again ahead of Ambassador, who has changed yards since his C&D win earlier in the month.

This can go to ROCK ON TOMMY, who has won over C&D in his last two starts and escapes a penalty for his comfortable success last week.

This could go the way of the hat-trick seeking MYSTIC MAN, who is yet to put a foot wrong since making the switch from hurdling to chasing in May. He has gone up 8lb following a facile win over this distance at Fakenham last month and shaped as though there would be more to come. He gets the vote ahead of Eightytwo Team, who has to shoulder a 7lb penalty following a two-length success at Southwell. Prince Cleni completes the shortlist.

Having confirmed he retains all of his ability on the back of a lengthy absence over hurdles in recent months, HE IS A CRACKER makes appeal from this sort of mark with his attentions now switched back to chasing and earns the vote. Mystic Man, who is 2-2 in this sphere, rates a lead threat, ahead of Prince Cleni.

Preference is for PRINCE CLENI, who needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort but began this season with two good runs.

A comfortable winner over an extended 3m at Southwell last month, BROOMFIELDS CAVE boasts leading claims if anywhere near that form, and Neil Mulholland's six-year-old looks the one to beat off 7lb higher. He has been steadily progressive of late and can get the better of Hungry Hill, who finished a creditable second off 3lb lower at Perth last time out. Classic Concorde is another to bear in mind.

A few with chances but it's hard to side against BROOMFIELDS CAVE who remains unexposed as a stayer and can defy a 7 lb rise in the weights after his emphatic win at Southwell. Hungry Hill is feared most on the back of his resurgent Perth second, with the consistent Lelantos well in the mix too.

6yo BROOMFIELDS CAVE (nap) justified favouritism in good style at Southwell and is open to more progress in staying handicaps.

FIRST REVOLUTION has a decent record when returning from a break, so from just 3lb higher than May's Hexham success he might be worth siding with. Casa Tall is a three-time winner over fences and looks best placed to chase the selection home sporting first-time blinkers and with Harry Cobden keeping the ride, while Designer Destiny may improve in the tongue-tie and is another worthy of consideration.

A badly cut-up field and FIRST REVOLUTION looks the most likely to take advantage, having been given a short break since his back-to-form win at Hexham. Casa Tall is the obvious danger.

The vote goes to FIRST REVOLUTION, who was a comfortable winner at Hexham last time and has just a 3lb rise.

GONE AWAY MADAM bolted up over course and distance on her racecourse bow and the daughter of Blue Bresil is hard to oppose under a penalty. Dontmesswithme shaped with promise when filling the runner-up spot at Newton Abbot 11 days ago and must enter calculations with improvement likely, along with Presently, who was well found in the market ahead of May's Bangor debut. Berg Nellie is also noted.

GONE AWAY MADAM was off the mark at the first attempt here last month and she's probably up to defying a penalty for all that Dontmesswithme and Presently are both open to improvement.

Presently ran a nice first race at Bangor but GONE AWAY MADAM should take some beating even with a penalty.
Ths is the racecard key.
