The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LUCKY ROSE was having only her third start over fences when successful over this sort of trip at Newton Abbot. Noel Williams' mare has the scope to rate higher, so a 4lb rise doesn't look insurmountable, and she could go in again. McGregors Charge is edging closer to that elusive first win having just missed out at Worcester. Thais Toir is potentially well treated on his best form over fences and showed signs of a resurgence when runner-up here last month.

Most of these have chances but the suggestion is LUCKY ROSE who looks progressive after winning at Newton Abbot.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Second in a bumper on debut last year, APPLESHAW displayed plenty of ability at Market Rasen on her first start over hurdles. The daughter of Kayf Tara found only the odds-on favourite too good and is entitled to improve with the experience under her belt. Chips And Rice showed she was going the right way when placed at Stratford, while Joueuse Royale is worth noting on her debut for Olly Murphy's yard.

Never Told Me ran well in a Cheltenham bumper in April but slight preference is for the proven hurdling abilty of JOUEUSE ROYALE.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Slade Shore won a lower-grade contest at Worcester on last month's chasing bow. There looks more to come from him, but NORTHERN BOUND makes most appeal. Ben Pauling's charge also scored at Worcester, when going in by seven lengths, and another bold bid looks assured. Stratford winner Baskerville ran well again when third at Bangor last time, while Lady Jago could bounce back in first-time cheekpieces.

Multiple point winner JET SMART (nap) was a convincing winner when back under rules last month and is evidently in rude health.

SOLEIL D'ARIZONA had more in hand than the half-length margin for her all-the-way triumph at Warwick might suggest. She has now won two of her three starts since undergoing wind surgery and a 4lb higher mark might not be enough to prevent Dan Skelton's progressive mare from following up. Fellow last-time scorers Crown Of India and Forget The Way are also suggested as key players, with the former feared most after a ready success at Worcester.

Fergal O'Brien's new recruit SLEEPING SATELLITE returns to hurdles off a perfectly good mark and he should be fit enough after a break.

MONTICELLO made a winning start for the Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero yard when springing a surprise over C&D last week and is an obviously strong contender under a 7lb penalty. Although a surprise winner on the day, there was little to crab about that performance and the five-year-old could make good progress with that handicap debut under his belt. Basilette is another with scope for progression over hurdles and warrants close inspection, while Portcammon and Window Of Time are each-way possibles.

Carlton is respected but MONTICELLO travelled strongly before winning over C&D on his recent handicap debut and gets the nod.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Lucinda Russell's horses have been in good form and, with that in mind, KILLYBEGS JET LADY could be well placed to add to the stable's positive current statistics. Having finished in the money in each of her last four starts, the eight-year-old's reliability is a likable attribute and a first success under Rules could be attainable here. Varinia struck over this trip at Fakenham last month and warrants serious consideration off 3lb higher. Hexham winner Belladinotte and Talk Of The Moon complete the shortlist.

The pick is BALLYHIHO, who has a point to prove but is of strong interest if judged on her second to a big improver two runs ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
