1st (2) (1/3 +46%)Laurens Bay |
1/3(+46%) | (2) Laurens Bay 1/3, Needed every yard when down in trip and improved to win the Betfair NH Novice Handicap Hurdle Final at Sandown over 2m4f by a neck last time. With the trainer in form, he looks the pick on the balance of form. Won valuable EBF Final on handicap hurdle debut in March; good chasing prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/4 -80%)Dartan |
9/4(-80%) | (1) Dartan 9/4, Lazy, made too much use of and set it up for the closer when 11l third in a beginners' chase over 3m1f at Kilbeggan on his most recent run. Wears a visor for the first time after a short break and looks the pick on race times. Very useful hurdler in Ireland when on song; looked unenthusiastic in a chase last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Dartan boasted some decent hurdle form when trained in Ireland and he should put his experience over the larger obstacles to good use. Sarah Humphrey's charge isn't taken lightly, but EBF Final winner LAURENS BAY looks more progressive. The son of Youmzain has shaped as if this step up in trip could unlock significant improvement and he may take plenty of stopping if taking to chasing.

Last season's EBF Final winner LAURENS BAY could have a lot more to offer over fences this term.

1st (4) (9/4 0%)Shabalko D'herm |
9/4(0%) | (4) Shabalko D'herm 9/4, Very promising debut when second, beaten 3l in a maiden bumper over 2m1f at Market Rasen last time. A 3m point winner whose trainer is in form and should have more to offer over hurdles. Easy Irish point winner; second in three-runner bumper; remains a good prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (18/1 +18%)Purple Owl |
18/1(+18%) | (3) Purple Owl 18/1, Modest bumper debut when possibly finding the ground too testing, comfortably held at Taunton last time. A 3m point winner suited by quick ground and may prefer further than 2m under rules. Point winner; struggled in heavy-ground bumper; may fare better on this quicker surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (6/4 +57%)White Riot |
6/4(+57%) | (8) White Riot 6/4, Improved under positive handling when winning a bumper at Wetherby by 8l last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good or good to soft ground; may have more to offer over hurdles. Made all to win Wetherby bumper by 8l in March; makes hurdling debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (250/1 0%)Vinnie O'neil |
250/1(0%) | (7) Vinnie O'neil 250/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability and has not yet managed to beat a rival home. Pulled up on both appearances, more recently when 500-1 for C&D maiden this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (22/1 +67%)Get In Order |
22/1(+67%) | (1) Get In Order 22/1, Fair effort only start in an Irish point when third at Fairyhouse; open to marked improvement but may need debut. Bought for £11,500 after quite promising third on Irish point debut in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (300/1 -200%)Kellebelle |
300/1(-200%) | (9) Kellebelle 300/1, Outpaced and outclassed on hurdle debut when well beaten in a novice hurdle at Warwick last time. Effective at 2m but needs to leave her bumper form behind over hurdles. Well beaten when a big-priced outsider for last month's hurdling debut at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (6/1 +40%)Times A Wastin |
6/1(+40%) | (6) Times A Wastin 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 7l in a maiden hurdle at Worcester last time. Effective from 2m to 3m, showed useful form in Ireland and could build on his stable debut. Ex-Irish 6yo; respectable fifth on last month's stable debut; each-way claims here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (14/1 +36%)Kykorock |
14/1(+36%) | (2) Kykorock 14/1, Keen, showed minor promise on debut when well beaten in a novice hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time. Returning from a long layoff and looks the pick on race times. Point winner in spring 2024 but made quiet start to rules career last winter. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Fergal O'Brien looks to hold a strong hand with Times A Wastin and WHITE RIOT, with preference for the latter. The five-year-old ended last season with an eight-length victory in a bumper at Wetherby and he may take some stopping if taking to this discipline. Aforementioned stablemate Times A Wastin should put his hurdle experience to good use and cannot be dismissed, although a bigger threat may emerge from Grade 2 bumper fifth Storming George.

Neil King's STORMING GEORGE looked useful in his two bumpers last season and gets the vote today.

1st (8) (11/4 +86%)Fern Hill |
11/4(+86%) | (8) Fern Hill 11/4, Ideally prefers some give and was comfortably held in a handicap chase over 3m5f at Fakenham last time. Appears the pick on race times. Regressive 10yo with modest strike-rate; still worth a second look here, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/1 +10%)Impatient |
9/1(+10%) | (5) Impatient 9/1, Found little for pressure again and latest form looks weak when fourth, beaten 17l in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Worcester last time. Has a bit to find. Shock winner last November but yet to build on that performance; back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/2 +55%)Golden Ambition |
9/2(+55%) | (7) Golden Ambition 9/2, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap chase over 2m4f here most recently. Had been in good form prior and represents a stable going well. Off a short break and yet to match hurdle form. Disappointed when dropped back to 2m4f last time but began chase career with two good runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 +60%)Jet Smart |
4/1(+60%) | (3) Jet Smart 4/1, Possibly did not stay when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Warwick last time. Progressive at 2 1/2m, though the handicapper may be catching up. Dual 2m4f winner in June; not in same form on either start last month; still considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (7/4 +30%)Mikhailovich |
7/4(+30%) | (1) Mikhailovich 7/4, Travelled well and ran to form when just out-battled late by a race-fit rival, beaten 2 1/2l off a mark of 105 over 2m7f at Worcester last time. Off a short break and looks on a good mark; should come on for the run. Won on chasing debut in June 2024 and returned from layoff with good hurdle run in August. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Having returned from a 432-day layoff to finish second at Worcester in August, Mikhailovich must enter calculations on his return to chasing. The eight-year-old had previously made a winning chase bow at Market Rasen and there is every chance he could excel in this discipline. However, it could be worth taking a punt on the reappearing GOLDEN AMBITION, who was too bad to be true when finishing last here in late July but was heading in the right direction before. Impatient is the pick of the remainder.

It might be worth chancing FERN HILL, who makes his seasonal debut from a career-low mark and who usually runs well when fresh.

1st (2) (12/1 -9%)Dargiannini |
12/1(-9%) | (2) Dargiannini 12/1, Below form when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Taunton last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective over 2½m, suited by decent ground, and has won fresh. Off since January but won when fresh last autumn and this C&D suits him well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/4 +80%)Into The Park |
9/4(+80%) | (6) Into The Park 9/4, Below form when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m3f at Ascot on his most recent start. Has a chance. 2-8 over hurdles; makes seasonal debut from a workable mark; may prefer slower ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (4/1 -78%)Lookaway |
4/1(-78%) | (4) Lookaway 4/1, Ran to form and had every chance when unable to dominate as desired, finishing 12l third in the Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (Grade 2) over 2m at Cheltenham. Returning from a long layoff; enjoys making the running and a contender. Absent since last November but reverts to hurdling on a good mark; 3-3 at Uttoxeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (13/2 +28%)Disco Davis |
13/2(+28%) | (9) Disco Davis 13/2, Failed to find as much as looked likely when comfortably held in the Betfair NH Novice Handicap Hurdle Final at Sandown last time. Was in good form beforehand. Quite promising novice hurdler last season and probably has more to offer this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (11/1 -83%)Masked Dance |
11/1(-83%) | (10) Masked Dance 11/1, Travelled well and looked the winner before being out-battled late, beaten a short head off 111 at Aintree last time. Took this race last year. Returned to form with two seconds in May; back up in grade for this reappearance run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 +50%)I Spy A Diva |
20/1(+50%) | (7) I Spy A Diva 20/1, Probably needed the run and wants better ground after finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las last time. A value selection based on the balance of form. Getting back on good ground will help but we've only seen her once since May 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (17/2 -13%)Brave Knight |
17/2(-13%) | (8) Brave Knight 17/2, A bit keen but returned to form when dropping in grade, finishing 5 1/4l third in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Plumpton last time. Effective over 2m on good ground. Good third over 2m at Plumpton last month and looks interesting over this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (9/2 -35%)Minella Rescue |
9/2(-35%) | (1) Minella Rescue 9/2, Outclassed on flat debut when beaten 9l in the Chester Stakes (Listed) over 1m6f at Chester last time. In good form prior; a thorough stayer who relishes longer trips and goes well at Uttoxeter. In career-best form over 2m7f here this season and should be okay back at 2m4f; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (25/1 -108%)No Ordinary Joe |
25/1(-108%) | (3) No Ordinary Joe 25/1, Held by less exposed rivals when finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham most recently. Has a bit to find. Became inconsistent for Nicky Henderson and is not easy to predict on this stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (100/1 -100%)Glengouly |
100/1(-100%) | (5) Glengouly 100/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Market Rasen last time. Returning from a break and appears to be regressing for his new yard. Badly out of form over fences for new stable this season; back hurdling after wind op. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A winner here over further in May off 6lb lower, MINELLA RESCUE should be primed for this contest after a recent spin on the Flat at Listed level. The seven-year-old is preferred to course specialist Lookaway, who has had wind surgery since last seen finishing third in the Arkle Trial at Cheltenham last November. Narrowly denied over this distance at Aintree back in May, Masked Dance is another to consider on her return from a break.

Today's step up in trip may unlock improvement from useful Flat stayer BRAVE KNIGHT (nap), who posted a good effort over 2m last month.

1st (6) (5/2 +38%)Mister Cessna |
5/2(+38%) | (6) Mister Cessna 5/2, Benefited from a drop in class and improved when winning a novice hurdle at Ludlow by 15l last time; may contend. Won novice hurdle in April and has some French chasing experience to call upon here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +33%)Koapey |
3/1(+33%) | (4) Koapey 3/1, A bit free but ran to form when outclassing rivals down in grade, winning a maiden hurdle at Southwell by 3l last time. Effective at 2m and suited by a sound surface; likely has more to offer in handicaps. Unexposed 5yo; won maiden hurdle in March; makes chase/handicap debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (2/1 +27%)Dog Fox |
2/1(+27%) | (7) Dog Fox 2/1, Unseated rider in a handicap chase over 2m1f at Kelso last time. Suited by 2m on a sound surface and well treated on hurdle form; can win soon over fences. Held every chance before penultimate-fence mishap on recent chasing debut; eased in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/1 +9%)My Friend Sean |
5/1(+9%) | (1) My Friend Sean 5/1, Showed a good attitude and improved on recent form when landing a handicap by 3l off 115 here last time. Trainer in form and returns from a break. Effective over 2m and acts on any ground; a very progressive hurdler. Five hurdle wins from December to May; makes chasing debut after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (11/1 +39%)Lime Drop |
11/1(+39%) | (2) Lime Drop 11/1, Found a stiff mark and was comfortably held in a handicap chase at Cheltenham last time; has a bit to find. Three chase wins last season, the first two over C&D; reappears on career-high mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MY FRIEND SEAN was on a roll when last seen in the spring and was last seen in winning action over C&D, making it three from three at the track. That record bodes well ahead of his chasing debut and the top-weight may have too much for Mister Cessna, who could not have done it much easier at Ludlow in April, and boasts experience over fences from his time in France. Koapey underwent wind surgery since scoring at Southwell in March and he must enter calculations on his chasing bow.

The selection in an interesting race for the grade is MISTER CESSNA but a few of the others also have significant chasing potential.

1st (6) (15/2 -150%)Cawthorne Banker |
15/2(-150%) | (6) Cawthorne Banker 15/2, Scored by 2 1/4l off 78 over 2m2f at Fontwell on his penultimate start and improved on that when third, beaten 3l off 86 last time. Needs a sound surface and remains well treated on old form. Won off his much reduced mark two starts ago but overall profile is not convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 +0%)Dinofromberlais |
3/1(+0%) | (1) Dinofromberlais 3/1, Still green but showed a willing attitude and improved down in grade when winning a maiden hurdle at Fakenham by a neck last time. Trainer in form. Effective over 2m and should get further in time, but needs to improve to defy his opening mark. Won Fakenham maiden in March; should have more to offer in handicaps this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (4/1 -14%)Cuban Court |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Cuban Court 4/1, Improved on recent form when landing a handicap by 7 1/2l off 98 over 2m4f at Huntingdon last time. In the mix. Signed off with two 2m3f Huntingdon wins in the spring; can cope with this drop back to 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (150/1 -355%)Dom Perry |
150/1(-355%) | (4) Dom Perry 150/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f here last time and needs to prove his ability remains after a layoff. Pulled up here on last month's stable debut, after a long absent; has too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/2 +40%)Eagles Gold |
9/2(+40%) | (5) Eagles Gold 9/2, Keen and needed the run when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle at Worcester last time. Looks limited. Ran okay last month, after a break, and can go well here if that outing did him good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (11/1 +8%)Moonshine Spirit |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Moonshine Spirit 11/1, Took a wide bend and was well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Taunton last time. Absent for a very lengthy period and wears a tongue-tie for the first time. 0-8 over hurdles and absent since 2023 but still worth keeping an eye on in the betting. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CUBAN COURT completed a double in fine style at Huntingdon when last seen and returns off a 5lb higher mark. If Neil King's charge is ready to go, he will prove a tough nut to crack. Dinofromberlais recorded his first career success at Fakenham in March and makes some appeal on his first appearance in a handicap under Sean Bowen. Cawthorne Banker is another to keep an eye on.

After a satisfactory reappearance run, EAGLES GOLD is taken to exploit a tempting mark and open his account.

9/2(+63%) | (10) Shotgun Shirley 9/2, Raced wide but ran to form when fourth beaten 7l in a mares' bumper at Huntingdon last time; wears a hood for the first time; effective at 2m and acts on good to soft and good ground; in good form. Made the frame on both starts last season but takes on males in a stronger race here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (6/5 +47%)Sapphos Word |
6/5(+47%) | (7) Sapphos Word 6/5, Very promising debut when winning a maiden over 3m at Lingstown by 4 1/2l; 3m point winner with more to come under rules; yard can ready one after a break. Irish point winner in March; new stable has excellent bumper strike-rate (24%). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/1 -27%)Aj's Diamond |
7/1(-27%) | (1) Aj's Diamond 7/1, Below form up in grade when comfortably held in a mares' bumper over 2m2f at Plumpton last time; effective at 2m and acts on soft and good ground. Second run was rather disappointing but she has possibilities if judged on debut effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (12/1 -50%)Sassipants |
12/1(-50%) | (8) Sassipants 12/1, Getaway filly trained by a top yard; worth a check in the beting. Out of a useful bumper winner and represents a top stable; makes obvious appeal on paper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 0%)She's Delighted |
4/1(0%) | (5) She's Delighted 4/1, Improved to win a mares' race at Bartlemy over 3m by 2l last time; 3m point winner who goes well on good ground; has joined a yard that regularly produces bumper winners. 2-5 in Irish points; bought for £50,000 in May; one of two new recruits for stable here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (15/2 -25%)No Flies On Her |
15/2(-25%) | (4) No Flies On Her 15/2, Very promising debut, winning a maiden over 3m at Ballindenisk by 2l; absent for a long period since; 3m point winner who acts on good ground; yard does well in bumpers and can have them ready first time. Bought for £50,000 after winning with a bit to spare on Irish point debut in March 2024. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (33/1 -50%)Ledecka |
33/1(-50%) | (3) Ledecka 33/1, £5,000 Scorpion mare; full-sister to Spider's Bite, a useful performer at 24f. Sister to useful jumper Spider's Bite; stable has the odd bumper winner; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (100/1 -100%)Shesonnet |
100/1(-100%) | (9) Shesonnet 100/1, Outpaced and modest bumper debut, well beaten in a race at Worcester on only start; flat-bred type effective at 2m, may be suited by a stiffer track but has plenty to find. Made low-key debut when fifth of seven at Worcester (good) in August. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (80/1 -100%)Galeforcechopper |
80/1(-100%) | (6) Galeforcechopper 80/1, Bit free but a promising debut, finishing third beaten 10l in a mares' bumper over 2m1f at Newton Abbot; tongue-tie on for the first time after a short break; effective at 2m on good ground and may improve with experience if ridden more positively. Not disgraced on debut but contests a much deeper race here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Point-to-point winner Sapphos Word goes for the in-form Jamie Snowden team and would be of interest if the market speaks in her favour. However, KAYDENCE showed promise when finishing a fair fourth over track and trip in May and would have learnt a great deal from that experience. Newcomer No Flies On Her takes the eye on paper and needs to be taken seriously.

Irish point winner SAPPHOS WORD has a nice pedigree and might enhance Jamie Snowden's excellent bumper strike-rate.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
