1st (5) (6/4 +0%)Mr Griffiths |
6/4(+0%) | (5) Mr Griffiths 6/4, Outpaced before rallying and doing it readily, improving when relishing the step up in trip to land a handicap by 3l off a 6lb lower mark at Fontwell last time. Effective over 2 1/2-3m; more to come as a stayer. Well backed when winning on handicap debut and a 6lb rise may not stop him today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +55%)Sweet Magic |
9/2(+55%) | (3) Sweet Magic 9/2, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 18l, in a handicap hurdle at Southwell last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good to soft; maiden in fair form. Runner-up here last February but not at the same level on her three starts this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (15/2 -173%)Scudamore |
15/2(-173%) | (4) Scudamore 15/2, Beaten 3l off this mark at Sedgefield last time. Effective from 2-3m and wants decent ground; generally consistent over hurdles, well treated on old form and has proven he retains his ability. Modest strike-rate but runner-up at Sedgefield recently and he's in the mix on that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/1 +29%)Kells Priory |
5/1(+29%) | (1) Kells Priory 5/1, Yard won this last year; needed the run on chase debut when well beaten in a beginners chase at Tramore last time. Returning from a break; effective over 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good ground; must bounce back on stable debut. Two Irish wins; below par when last seen but no surprise to see a good run on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/3 +26%)Pipers Cross |
10/3(+26%) | (2) Pipers Cross 10/3, Outpaced but ran to form when fourth, beaten 5 1/2l, in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton last time. Effective over 3m and acts on any ground; consistent performer. Hasn't been running badly this season and she might not be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (22/1 -38%)Wot You Wearing |
22/1(-38%) | (6) Wot You Wearing 22/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell last time. Effective over 2 1/2m and acts on soft and good to firm; out of form. Three-time hurdle winner but it's been a long time since he posed a serious threat. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Scudamore showed more when returning from a break to finish second at this level at Sedgefield earlier in the month and can go well again, but it may pay to side with MR GRIFFITHS. The six-year-old made his way through the field to score by three lengths at Fontwell last month and a 6lb rise might underestimate the level of authority he showed that day. Pipers Cross is the pick of the remainder.

The very lightly raced 6yo MR GRIFFITHS (nap) relished the step up to 3m2f when a well-backed winner on his handicap debut at Fontwell.

1st (2) (4/11 -45%)Sinnatra |
4/11(-45%) | (2) Sinnatra 4/11, Ran to form but laboured when beaten 9l into third in the Listed Sidney Banks Novices' Hurdle at Huntingdon last time. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on soft and good; strong, slightly workmanlike type with solid form. 2m3f Listed third at Huntingdon last time; he's the one to beat now back down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/8 +25%)Four Springs |
15/8(+25%) | (1) Four Springs 15/8, Ran to form when beaten 4 1/4l into third in a novice hurdle at Market Rasen on his most recent run. Trainer in form and off a short break; effective at 2m and acts on good. Point winner who could defy a penalty. Point and novice hurdle winner for whom the step up in trip could be a good move. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (50/1 -25%)La Vish |
50/1(-25%) | (5) La Vish 50/1, Mildly promising debut when beaten 32l into third in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2 1/2m and acts on good to soft but will need to find more. Showed ability at Ludlow but was remote in third and has bundles to find today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (150/1 -50%)Lancier Des Obeaux |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Lancier Des Obeaux 150/1, Outpaced and finished down the field on debut in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter most recently. Has it all to prove over hurdles and may need further in time. Finished last in sole bumper and tailed off at 150-1 on last month's hurdle debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sinnatra got off the mark over 2m at Sandown prior to stepping up in trip when only third in a Listed event at Huntingdon earlier in the month. That form sets the standard, but the one that appeals most is FOUR SPRINGS. The five-year-old made a strong impression to score at Hereford before being a disappointing favourite at Market Rasen next time. Ben Pauling's charge has undergone a wind operation since and can bounce back. La Vish is best of the rest.

Sandown winner SINNATRA was 3rd in a Listed novice at Huntingdon latest and has the best form. He's the pick ahead of Four Springs.

(2) (13/8 +35%)Joker De Mai |
13/8(+35%) | (2) Joker De Mai 13/8, Ran to form when beaten 3 1/4l off this mark at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2m-2 1/2m and acts with cut; on a fair mark on his best efforts and back in form. Clear third at Ludlow recently despite being hampered; could have a big part to play. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (5/2 -82%)Alcedo |
5/2(-82%) | (1) Alcedo 5/2, Scored by a nose off a 7lb lower mark at Newcastle on his penultimate start; improved again when just flattening out late up in trip, second beaten 1l off 126 last time and 1lb higher here. Off a short break; effective at 2m-3m, suited by cut; progressive. In fine form since these cheekpieces went on and he holds leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (16/5 -7%)Cabhfuilfungi |
16/5(-7%) | (3) Cabhfuilfungi 16/5, Ran to form when beaten 1 1/2l off a 2lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time. Effective at 2m-2 1/2m and may be worth a slight step back up in trip. Good second of five over 2m at Uttoxeter; possible player if this longer trip is okay. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (5/1 +44%)The Good Doctor |
5/1(+44%) | (4) The Good Doctor 5/1, Made mistakes and was below form in a first-time visor when fourth, beaten 44l, in a handicap chase at Leicester latest. Trainer in form; off a short break; effective at 2m-2 1/2m and his mark is probably about right. Tailed off last time but on a competitive mark on best chase form; chance if bouncing back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (14/1 +65%)Palamon |
14/1(+65%) | (5) Palamon 14/1, Never threatened and was comfortably held in a handicap chase at Ludlow last time. Effective at 2m-2m4f on soft and good ground; still early days for the new top yard and needs a step back up in trip. Runner-up on chase debut at Wexford last July but hard to fancy on more recent evidence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Cabhfuilfungi finished a long way clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot at Uttoxeter, but will need to prove as effective stepping back up in distance. With that in mind, ALCEDO gets the vote. Only beaten a length into second in a warmer event at Doncaster in December, the eight-year-old competes off just a 1lb higher mark and looks the one to beat. Joker De Mai is another to keep an eye on.

Joker De Mai is a tempting option but preference is for ALCEDO, whose form has gone to a new level since the cheekpieces went on.

10/3(+17%) | (9) Tigers Moon 10/3, Scored by 3/4l off a 10lb lower mark at Southwell on his penultimate start; travelled well and possibly hit the front a bit soon on testing ground when beaten 3l into third off 103 last time. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft; progressive. 6yo who has been steadily progressive this season and holds solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 +71%)Sage Green |
7/2(+71%) | (3) Sage Green 7/2, Looked in need of a stiffer test when beaten 12l into second in a handicap hurdle at Kempton latest; this was his second run after a wind operation. Effective at 2m on soft and good; may improve for that run and could get further. Encouraging return from wind surgery at Kempton recently and he's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (11/2 -65%)Kenzoko |
11/2(-65%) | (10) Kenzoko 11/2, Landed a handicap by 1/2l off a 3lb lower mark at Uttoxeter last time; hood worn for the first time. Effective at 2m and acts with cut; that form has been franked, his mark still looks fair and he could follow up, likely to get further in time. Won at Uttoxeter on second handicap start and he's in good hands to keep on improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (6/1 +8%)Liam Mera Kai |
6/1(+8%) | (1) Liam Mera Kai 6/1, Ran to form when beaten 14l into third in a maiden hurdle at Wincanton most recently; effective at 2m and acts on good ground. A bumper winner who should be winning soon over hurdles, where he has been consistent. Course bumper winner who has been consistent in novice hurdles; first handicap start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (6/1 -100%)Codetalker |
6/1(-100%) | (2) Codetalker 6/1, Scored by 3 1/4l off a 6lb lower mark at Fakenham on his penultimate start; cheekpieces are fitted for the first time. Effective at 2m and acts on soft; his debut form is working out very well and he is in form. Won at Fakenham on second handicap start and good third at Uttoxeter since; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (10/1 +29%)Choice Runner |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Choice Runner 10/1, Below par when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton latest. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on heavy and good to soft ground; he is interesting on his handicap debut. Remains of interest for top yard now back down in trip on second handicap start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (12/1 +14%)Aggagio |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Aggagio 12/1, Below form and up in class when well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton latest; returning from a short break. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on heavy and good ground; his mark looks fair despite in-and-out form. Runner-up at Leicester in December then didn't run badly at Wincanton; not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (12/1 +25%)I've Madeupmymind |
12/1(+25%) | (5) I've Madeupmymind 12/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon latest; usually held up. Effective from 2m to 2m4f and acts on any ground; her form has tailed off this term. Has something to prove but perhaps the drop back in trip will help this headstrong mare. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (25/1 +62%)Gone Country |
25/1(+62%) | (12) Gone Country 25/1, Ran to form when finishing down the field in a maiden hurdle at Lingfield most recently; likely to want further than 2m under rules. Point runner-up who is a possible improver on his handicap debut; watch the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (28/1 -133%)Trust House |
28/1(-133%) | (11) Trust House 28/1, Given too much to do but ran to form when beaten 6l into third in a handicap hurdle at Leicester most recently; returning from a long layoff. Effective at 2m and acts with cut; progressive when last seen. First run since last January but in good form when last seen and has a competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (40/1 -100%)Supreme Yeats |
40/1(-100%) | (6) Supreme Yeats 40/1, Outpaced and in need of further when comfortably held in a handicap hurdle here last time. Suited by a sound surface and 3m; he can bounce back when returned to staying trips. Runs off last winning mark but this 10yo's more recent form hasn't been up to scratch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (125/1 -89%)Get The Value |
125/1(-89%) | (7) Get The Value 125/1, Unsuited by heavy ground when well beaten in a handicap hurdle here latest; usually held up. Effective at around 2m and wants a sound surface; progressive in the summer, but his mark demands more. In top form last March-June but tailed off on his last three starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Despite taking a keen hold, Kenzoko recorded his first success at Uttoxeter and the first-time hood might eke out more. He is considered along with the in-form Tigers Moon, but the vote goes to CHOICE RUNNER. Dan Skelton's gelding could only manage seventh on handicap debut at Wincanton last month, but now takes a drop back in trip and goes off a 2lb lower rating. With the likelihood of more to come, he looks the way to go.

The lightly raced KENZOKO won at Uttoxeter last month despite failing to settle and the first-time hood could help in that regard today.

(4) (15/8 +6%)Harry Bright |
15/8(+6%) | (4) Harry Bright 15/8, Travelled well, up in trip, and may not have stayed when fourth, beaten 14l, in a handicap hurdle here latest. Off a short break; effective from 2m5f to 2m7f and acts on good to soft and good ground; capable of better for a top yard. Lightly raced 6yo who is a possible player now back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (9/4 +0%)Up To Trix |
9/4(+0%) | (1) Up To Trix 9/4, Ran to form when beaten 25l into third in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter on his most recent run. Effective over 2m and acts on soft ground; there could be more to come now upped in trip for handicaps. Former pointer who is bred to be suited by the step up in trip on today's handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (9/2 +72%)Romany King |
9/2(+72%) | (5) Romany King 9/2, Outclassed up in grade when down the field in a maiden hurdle at Newbury on his most recent start. Off a short break; acts on soft ground and looks the type to do better now handicapping and upped in trip. 3m point winner who could be a contender now back up in trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/1 +75%)Midnight Ginger |
5/1(+75%) | (3) Midnight Ginger 5/1, Never in the race and well beaten in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton on her latest start. Off a short break; effective from 2m to 2 1/2m and probably best with cut nowadays, with her form having tailed off earlier in the year. Second at Ludlow last February but has struggled to get competitive since; has had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (14/1 -460%)Minella Double |
14/1(-460%) | (2) Minella Double 14/1, Returned to form down in grade when beaten a length off a 1lb lower mark at Huntingdon last time. Returning from a long layoff; effective at 2 1/2m and acts on good ground, but needs to build on that latest effort. Close second at Huntingdon last May; absent since; player if resuming where he left off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (16/1 +20%)Times A Wastin |
16/1(+20%) | (6) Times A Wastin 16/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow on his latest outing. Effective from 2m to 3m on a sound surface; his mark keeps easing but he arrives in only moderate form. Encouraging stable debut in December but tailed off recently on sole start since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Up To Trix has shown some ability in both of his outings over the smaller obstacles and would be of interest if the market speaks in his favour off an opening mark of 103. However, MINELLA DOUBLE looks the more solid option after returning to form when second at Huntingdon last May. Provided the eight-year-old is ready to go, he could be the one to beat. Harry Bright is another to consider.

The step up in trip seems a likely positive for UP TO TRIX on his handicap debut and he is the selection ahead of Harry Bright.

(4) (6/4 -25%)Voleur De Terres |
6/4(-25%) | (4) Voleur De Terres 6/4, Did it easily and improved when down in trip, benefitting from a light weight in testing conditions to land a handicap by 2 1/2l off a 7lb lower mark at Leicester last time; effective over 2 1/2-3m and suited by cut. Should remain competitive in low grades. Sprung 40-1 shock at Leicester last week & under a penalty is effectively only 2lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/4 -57%)Only Gossip |
11/4(-57%) | (1) Only Gossip 11/4, Improved for debut experience when second, beaten 5l, in a handicap chase at Fontwell last time; effective over 2 1/2-3m and acts on any ground. Inconsistent in a short hurdles career, but the point winner is progressing over fences. Point winner who was runner-up at Fontwell last month on her second chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (13/2 +28%)Lynsey Larue |
13/2(+28%) | (3) Lynsey Larue 13/2, Made too much use of when stepped up in trip on testing ground and finished fourth, beaten 30l, in a handicap chase at Ffos Las last time; effective around 2m and acts on good ground. Surely capable of better over fences. Not devoid of promise over fences but well beaten at Ffos Las three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (7/1 +72%)Arctic Stream |
7/1(+72%) | (2) Arctic Stream 7/1, Made mistakes and was outpaced on a modest chase debut when comfortably held in a handicap chase at Lingfield last time; plenty to prove under rules. 9yo who is very lightly raced for her age; soundly beaten on last month's chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/1 +72%)Wishful Wings |
7/1(+72%) | (5) Wishful Wings 7/1, Yard won this last year; outpaced and continued in poor form when well beaten in a maiden hurdle at Ludlow last time. Likely to need more time. Has shown little over hurdles but trainer does better with chasers; lowly opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (12/1 -50%)Firefly Lane |
12/1(-50%) | (6) Firefly Lane 12/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase at Newton Abbot last time; effective over 2 1/2-3m, acts on good to firm ground and is suited by cut. Out of form. On a reduced mark but pulled up at Newton Abbot last August when last seen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

None of these are overly convincing but VOLEUR DE TERRES seemed to enjoy herself when winning at Leicester and a 7lb penalty might not prevent her from following up, especially if the forecast rain arrives. Only Gossip has a better recent completion record than any of them and she also needs taking seriously as she bids for a first career win under Rules. Lynsey Larue and Arctic Stream are others to monitor in the betting market.

Topweight ONLY GOSSIP took a step forward when runner-up at Fontwell on her second handicap run and is taken to go one better.

(2) (7/4 +50%)Burds Of A Feather |
7/4(+50%) | (2) Burds Of A Feather 7/4, Improved when winning a maiden point at Dromahane by 11l last time. Wears a tongue-tie for the first time, returns from a short break and, as a point winner, is worth a market check on rules debut. Point winner who changed hands for £50,000; has joined up-and-coming trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (3/1 -33%)Jollie Dame |
3/1(-33%) | (6) Jollie Dame 3/1, Ran to form when fourth, beaten 16l, in the Alan Swinbank Mares' NH Flat Race (Listed) at Market Rasen latest. Effective at 2m and acts on good to soft, and should be able to find a bumper down in class. Has shown promise on both starts and holds leading claims now back down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 +33%)Davita Blaze |
4/1(+33%) | (4) Davita Blaze 4/1, Jet Away mare and half-sister to Adicci, who was very useful from 17f to 18f. Probably best watched on debut. Useful pedigree; one of two newcomers for yard and this mare could be the chief hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (13/2 +70%)Safari |
13/2(+70%) | (7) Safari 13/2, 17,000 euros Getaway mare. Stable can get the odd first time out winner in this sphere but looks an unlikely winner on debut. 17,000euros foal; dam bumper winner from classy family; could give a good account on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/1 -47%)Diamond Grace |
11/1(-47%) | (5) Diamond Grace 11/1, 28,000 euros Nirvana Du Berlais mare and half-sister to Macdermott, who was very useful at 32f. Looks an unlikely winner on debut. Half-sister to Scottish National winner Macdermott; Davita Blaze may be stable number one. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (11/1 -340%)Sparkling Water |
11/1(-340%) | (8) Sparkling Water 11/1, Showed up well for a long way on debut when fourth, beaten 12l, in a maiden bumper at Wincanton latest. Could progress. Fourth on bumper debut; major player on that form and can improve if settling better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (25/1 +11%)Angel Of My Dreams |
25/1(+11%) | (1) Angel Of My Dreams 25/1, Poor debut when well beaten in an Amateurs' bumper at Aintree on her only start. Trainer is in form and she returns from a long layoff, but plenty more is needed. Won point-to-point bumper; well beaten in sole rules bumper last May but not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (250/1 -658%)Dame In Disguise |
250/1(-658%) | (3) Dame In Disguise 250/1, Outpaced but improved a little without threatening when fourth, beaten 15l, in a mares' bumper at Sedgefield latest. Back from a short break and open to improvement, though plenty is needed. Big odds when soundly beaten towards the end of last year on her first two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JOLLIE DAME heads the shortlist despite the 100,000-pound purchase failing to build on a promising C&D second on her debut when a well-held fourth at Market Rasen last time. However, that was in a Listed race and Dan Skelton's mare can make the most down in class. Davita Blaze is bred along the right lines and looks the pick of the O'Neills' pair, while Sparkling Water and Dame In Disguise have scope to build on what they've shown so far.

Jollie Dame (second choice) and Sparkling Water are respected but this could go to point winner BURDS OF A FEATHER.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
