(1) (10/11 +48%)Lime Drop |
10/11(+48%) | (1) Lime Drop 10/11, A two-time 2m scorer at Uttoxeter this season, latest in January. Faced a stiff task when last of 5 in listed chase at Exeter (17.5f, soft) 28 days ago so needs considering. Struggled in Listed grade last time; consistent (21321) in handicaps otherwise this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (5/4 -50%)Ostrava Du Berlais |
5/4(-50%) | (3) Ostrava Du Berlais 5/4, Scored over fences at Ludlow and Taunton before Christmas and posted a solid third of 8 in 2m4f handicap chase back at Ludlow 18 days ago. Big shout eased 1 lb. Leading contender on peak form, namely easy wins at Ludlow and Taunton in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (13/2 -8%)Happy D'ex |
13/2(-8%) | (2) Happy D'ex 13/2, Dual hurdles winner for Gordon Elliott in 2022. Only twice raced for his current yard and off 14 months before a well-held sixth in 2m4f Ludlow handicap chase 18 days ago. Needs to take a major step forward. Possibilities provided she returns to best Irish form; third run for new stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This represents a significant drop in grade for LIME DROP, having been outclassed at Exeter last time out, and she is best judged on her penultimate success over this distance at Uttoxeter. A mark of 115 still looks manageable, and she is preferred to Ostrava Du Berlais, who was a progressive sort earlier in the season and showed some promise when third at Ludlow last month. Happy D'ex has yet to click since joining new connections, but she is well-handicapped compared to her hurdles mark.

This can go the way of OSTRAVA DU BERLAIS who has less on her plate than when a good third at Ludlow last time out and can now bag a third success of the season. Lime Drop also has her sights lowered in her bid to bag a third victory and should ensure Venetia Williams' mare doesn't have things all her own way.

Bottomweight OSTRAVA DU BERLAIS holds a particularly good chance on her December form. Lime Drop is second choice.

(6) (5/2 -25%)King Ulanda |
5/2(-25%) | (6) King Ulanda 5/2, Bumper winner on only start for Tom Weston and left previous hurdles form behind when making a successful handicap debut at Musselburgh (15.6f, good to soft) 3 weeks ago, scoring readily. Leading contender with further improvement to come. Did it well when making a successful handicap debut at Musselburgh last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (11/4 -10%)The Grey Man |
11/4(-10%) | (5) The Grey Man 11/4, Took a step forward sent handicapping when getting off the mark at Leicester in January and backed up that effort when third of 11 at Bangor (16.7f, heavy) a month ago. Respected with more still to offer in handicaps. First and third in two handicaps; unexposed and considered if coping with drying ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (4/1 +43%)Aggagio |
4/1(+43%) | (4) Aggagio 4/1, Fairly useful handicap hurdler at best and step back in the right direction when fifth of 8 at Lingfield (19.5f, soft) in December, making late headway. Filled the same position back at Lingfield last time and he's interesting from his current mark. Not shown much in four starts over hurdles since October; opposable despite drop in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (6/1 -9%)Don Rafael |
6/1(-9%) | (3) Don Rafael 6/1, Maiden hurdle winner at Stratford in July and doubled his tally in handicap at Hereford (19.7f, good to soft) in November. Found it tougher at Ascot (21.6f) last time when also caught wide, so he could bounce back returned to this grade/distance. Two wins last year; respected back in trip/grade if ready to go after 79 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 +0%)Ilitch |
9/1(+0%) | (7) Ilitch 9/1, Placed on last of 3 outings in bumpers for Stuart Crawford and, fit from points, promise on hurdling debut when fourth in maiden at Fakenham on New Year's Day. Ran to similar level at Huntingdon last time, but more needed as he goes handicapping (has had wind op). Fourth in both starts over hurdles; makes handicap debut after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(1) (11/1 -38%)Gardener |
11/1(-38%) | (1) Gardener 11/1, Fairly useful form when winning twice over fences for this yard in 2023/24. Below that level over hurdles this season but there were better signs when third at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) in December, though not in the same form at Ffos Las (20f, heavy) last time. Should be happier back at 2m after failing to stay 2m4f last time; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (40/1 -150%)Whispering Royal |
40/1(-150%) | (2) Whispering Royal 40/1, Fair Flat winner who made all in juvenile hurdle at Doncaster in December 2023 and soon left behind a lesser effort when fourth of 7 on handicap hurdle debut at Fakenham in March last year. Off 6 months (from Flat) ahead of first run since leaving Alan King. 1-4 over hurdles last winter; market useful on stable debut after seven months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KING ULANDA produced a comfortable success on his handicap debut at Musselburgh and the five-year-old is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming. He can follow up off 8lb higher here. A respectable third when looking to land the double at Bangor-on-Dee last time out, The Grey Man is a key player, along with Don Rafael, who has strong claims on his success at Hereford.

KING ULANDA proved a different proposition sent handicapping when opening his hurdles account in good style at Musselburgh last time, so he is taken to follow up for last year's winning trainer/jockey of this race. He can see off the challenge of The Grey Man, who has also made a promising start in handicaps, with Aggagio another one to note.

The choice is KING ULANDA who did it well when making a successful handicap debut at Musselburgh last month. He can defy an 8lb rise.

(1) (1/1 +64%)Hms President |
1/1(+64%) | (1) Hms President 1/1, Useful handicapper on Flat and has looked equally capable in this sphere, built on facile maiden hurdle success at Kempton when second in novice at Huntingdon in December. Had a recent spin on the Flat and open to more improvement back in this sphere. Useful on Flat; record of 212 over hurdles; one of the main form contenders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (1/1 +88%)Dunskay |
1/1(+88%) | (7) Dunskay 1/1, Looked good prospect when winning a couple of bumpers last season but bit to prove now after shaping as if amiss on hurdles bow after 11 months off 8 weeks ago. Disappointing on reappearance but retains potential judged on bumper form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (20/1 +20%)Dixie Mafia |
20/1(+20%) | (6) Dixie Mafia 20/1, Winning pointer. Well held in bumper at Kilbeggan in May for P. M. J. Doyle. Dual point winner in Ireland but this looks a stiff task on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (25/1 -25%)Harry Bright |
25/1(-25%) | (8) Harry Bright 25/1, Shaped like a stayer when mid-field in a couple of bumpers. Hurdles debutant who needs improvement on his bumper form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (28/1 -12%)House Of Habsburg |
28/1(-12%) | (9) House Of Habsburg 28/1, £35,000 5-y-o, Order of St George gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful hurdler Master Debonair, stayed 2½m, and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Firestream, stays 3m. Last of 3 finishers on first of 2 starts in points, every chance when unseated rider 2 out last time (Jan 11). Every chance when unseating rider two out in latest Irish point start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(13) (28/1 -12%)Misteroddsocks |
28/1(-12%) | (13) Misteroddsocks 28/1, €125,000 Walk In The Park gelding from the family of smart hurdler/top-class chaser Bellshill. Free-going sort who improved on debut when third in Hereford bumper. Shaped as if amiss next time, though. Makes hurdles debut. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Hurdles debutant who has something to find on bumper form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (40/1 -60%)Sage Green |
40/1(-60%) | (14) Sage Green 40/1, Point winner but well held in bumper at Chepstow 2 weeks ago. Irish point winner who needs to improve sharply on his bumper effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (66/1 +0%)Midnight View |
66/1(+0%) | (12) Midnight View 66/1, Poor form both starts in novice hurdles. Plenty to find on the figures. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (100/1 +0%)Mexican Stan |
100/1(+0%) | (11) Mexican Stan 100/1, Well held in bumper/maiden hurdle. Pair of duck eggs next to his name. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (150/1 -200%)I Like Ike |
150/1(-200%) | (10) I Like Ike 150/1, Well held in novice hurdle at Taunton. Soundly beaten in maiden hurdle at Taunton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (250/1 -150%)Break Point |
250/1(-150%) | (5) Break Point 250/1, Poor maiden nowadays on Flat (stays 1¼m). Makes hurdles debut. Hurdles debutant who has unconvincing claims on Flat form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A winner of a Listed contest at Musselburgh last month before going on to finish runner-up in the Adonis, ST PANCRAS sets a lofty standard and it is difficult to look past him on the drop in class. HMS President boasts strong hurdles form and has had a spin on the Flat since his latest second in this sphere at Huntingdon. He is feared most, ahead of Dunskay.

An excellent opportunity for ST PANCRAS to quickly resume winning ways having finished second in a Grade 2 at Kempton 2 weeks ago. There's not much depth to this big field, though previous winner Hms President remains with potential.

Scottish Triumph Hurdle winner and Adonis runner-up ST PANCRAS gets the verdict back down in class. HMS President is second choice.

(4) (3/1 +79%)Bowenspark |
3/1(+79%) | (4) Bowenspark 3/1, Posted creditable third on return at Aintree but isn't the most straightforward and hasn't been in same form since. Drops in grade/had wind operation but others are more convincing. Has undergone wind surgery since last seen and worth a second look down in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(15) (4/1 +33%)Almuhit |
4/1(+33%) | (15) Almuhit 4/1, Had wind surgery prior to shedding maiden tag over hurdles in 11-runner novices' handicap at Southwell (20.4f) 20 days ago, keeping on well. 8 lb higher and in deeper company now but warrants respect. Made winning return from wind surgery at Southwell last month; 8lb rise asks more of him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(11) (13/2 -117%)Gentleman Jacques |
13/2(-117%) | (11) Gentleman Jacques 13/2, Made a low-key start for current connections but back in a better heart equipped with a visor/tongue tie, building on his Exeter second when a facile winner of 15-runner handicap at Wincanton (19.8f, heavy) 38 days ago. Raised 11 lb since but looks a likely player nonetheless. Bolted up at Wincanton last time; things may not work out so favourably this time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/1 -38%)Highlands Legacy |
9/1(-38%) | (6) Highlands Legacy 9/1, Back to best form when second in Wincanton handicap hurdle (19.8f) in January. May have been undone by testing conditions at Wetherby latest and must enter calculations here. A player if jumping better than last time; stable has a good recent record in this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (9/1 +44%)Masked Dance |
9/1(+44%) | (7) Masked Dance 9/1, Dual winner over timber who arrives on back of creditable third of 14 in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (20.7f, soft) 45 days ago. Ought to be thereabouts again. 5lb above last winning mark but considered, especially if the ground continues to dry out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(10) (9/1 +0%)Strong Foundations |
9/1(+0%) | (10) Strong Foundations 9/1, Fair bumper performer who made winning hurdles debut here in October. Not really built on that but may be seen in better light now sent handicapping. 2m hurdle winner around here; worth keeping an eye on upped in trip for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(14) (10/1 +38%)Patanita |
10/1(+38%) | (14) Patanita 10/1, Bumper winner in spring 2022 but seen only 5 times over hurdles since, posting solid third of 9 in handicap (11/1) at Wincanton (24.7f, soft) 22 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time. Each-way claims. 0-5 over hurdles; fair third at Wincanton last month but needs a bit more; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (10/1 -67%)Kap Ouest |
10/1(-67%) | (3) Kap Ouest 10/1, From a decent French NH family and confirmed promise shown in bumper and opening hurdles starts when making it third-time lucky over the smaller obstacles at Exeter (16.7f) in December. Unseated rider early on at Newbury since and remains low mileage. Exeter winner in December; open to improvement upped in trip and one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(12) (22/1 -144%)Noble Park |
22/1(-144%) | (12) Noble Park 22/1, In top hands and stepped up on previous efforts over hurdles when second of 4 in novice at Sandown (16f, heavy) 36 days ago. Reverts to longer trip on handicap debut but opening mark could have been kinder. Second of four last time; bred to appreciate the longer trip on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (25/1 -25%)Pearly Island |
25/1(-25%) | (5) Pearly Island 25/1, Made winning return over smaller obstacles at Fakenham (20f) in January. Wasn't in same form at Sandown last time, though, and others are more appealing. Cheekpieces back on. Successful return to hurdles in January but pulled up next time; needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(9) (33/1 -65%)Got Grey |
33/1(-65%) | (9) Got Grey 33/1, Improved for joining Dan Skelton, winning 2m handicaps at Stratford and Bangor on summer ground last year. Rather gone backwards since, however, and is still 12 lb above his last winning mark. Drying ground would be a positive, but needs to prove his stamina for this sort of trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(8) (40/1 -150%)Phillapa Sue |
40/1(-150%) | (8) Phillapa Sue 40/1, Been in good heart in recent starts, latest when creditable fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle (9/1) at Chepstow (23.6f, heavy) 28 days ago. Others look better treated, though. This trip on drying ground may be an insufficient test and vulnerable to younger rivals. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The vote goes to GENTLEMAN JACQUES, who justified favouritism by 12 lengths at Wincanton on his latest outing and has a 11lb higher rating to contend with. This requires a career-best effort, but he might be up to the task. Noble Park warrants a market check on his handicap bow for his powerful connections, while you should keep an eye on Kap Ouest too.

GENTLEMAN JACQUES can defy a hike in the weights for a facile Wincanton success. Highlands Legacy and Almuhit are also respected.

An open contest in which the vote goes to HIGHLANDS LEGACY whose stable has a fine recent record in this race.

(1) (8/11 +64%)Woodie Flash |
8/11(+64%) | (1) Woodie Flash 8/11, Winner of 3 of his last 4 completed starts over hurdles, again defying the handicapper when landing a decent handicap at Chepstow (23.6f) in December. Probably had a hard enough race and has been given time to get over that. Up another 4 lb but has to be respected on his current trajectory. Rallied well at Chepstow last time, taking hurdles record to 5-12; steadily progressive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 +75%)My Bobby Dazzler |
7/2(+75%) | (3) My Bobby Dazzler 7/2, Useful handicap hurdler on his day but it's been a stop-start season. Had a pipe-opener on comeback in November before further 3-months off, finishing well-held in a handicap at Haydock having been easy to back. Shouldn't lack for fitness but no easy task up against some more progressive types. Inconsistent in the last 14 months; went close off this mark on one occasion. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (5/1 +44%)Kintail |
5/1(+44%) | (7) Kintail 5/1, Once promising having been successful in a bumper and novice hurdle at this venue in 2023 but hasn't been anywhere near those heights this season, showing little in two chases or back over hurdles last time, when looking reluctant (pulled-up). First-time cheekpieces need to spark a return to form. May well improve for the first-time headgear, new trip and return to Warwick (2-3 here). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (7/1 +61%)Feivel |
7/1(+61%) | (5) Feivel 7/1, Dual hurdles winner last season and ran a stormer back chasing when given a positive ride to finish second in the Southern National on return in November. However, that race may have left his mark, well-held on subsequent starts over hurdles/fences. Visored first-time and best to look elsewhere. Ran poorly the last twice but could revive in new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (66/1 +0%)Slip Of The Tongue |
66/1(+0%) | (6) Slip Of The Tongue 66/1, Ended time with Padraig Roche in Ireland out of sorts and has been pulled-up on all three starts for current connections. Has had wind surgery but difficult to be positive about his chances. Badly out of form; had wind surgery since last run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SOLE SOLUTION may have been worth more than the winning margin suggests when scoring by half a length at Sandown last month and is only 5lb higher for that success. Venetia Williams' seven-year-old could have more to offer on only his second handicap start and may prove tough to beat. Woodie Flash got up in the final strides to strike in a warmer event at Chepstow last time and is a previous C&D winner to take seriously. Of the remainder, An Tailliur makes the most appeal.

Despite a small field, a few of these tend to go forward and that should ensure this is run at a reasonable tempo, which will suit the progressive SOLE SOLUTION. He showed a game attitude when winning at Sandown, shaping as though he'll be even better for this step up in trip. Woodie Flash is very likeable having won 3 of his last 4 completed starts over hurdles, and he is capable of running another big race following a short break, while An Tailliur offered some hope of a revival last time.

With a resurgent display likely, KINTAIL is an interesting alternative to the progressive pair Woodie Flash and Sole Solution.

(1) (9/4 +44%)Illico De Cotte |
9/4(+44%) | (1) Illico De Cotte 9/4, Irish point/maiden hurdle winner who showed much-improved form when making a winning chase debut at Carlisle (3¼m, good to soft) in October. Better form when placed next 2 starts and can go well again up in trip. Unexposed 7yo; this longer trip should suit and he probably still has plenty more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(3) (7/2 -40%)Sound And Fury |
7/2(-40%) | (3) Sound And Fury 7/2, Lightly-raced winning pointer/hurdler who looked rather fortunate to win 2 of his 4 starts over fences this season. However, he remains on the upgrade and impressed with his jumping last time, so needs considering. May have been fortunate to win twice over fences since December, but remains unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(6) (9/2 -50%)Northern Poet |
9/2(-50%) | (6) Northern Poet 9/2, Recorded a hat-trick switched to fences in the second half of 2022/23. First win since when taking veterans event at Doncaster last week despite travelling with little fluency. Able to race off the same mark here so needs considering up in trip. Off the same mark as when winning last time; respected if ground continues to dry out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(4) (6/1 +40%)Are U Wise To That |
6/1(+40%) | (4) Are U Wise To That 6/1, Successful twice last season, including off 2 lb higher at Cheltenham. Just the one decent effort since, however, running poorly at Lingfield last month. Contrasting performances in his last five starts; not quite sure what to expect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(5) (15/2 +25%)Duke Of Deception |
15/2(+25%) | (5) Duke Of Deception 15/2, Mixed record this season and ran poorly at Bangor last time. Needs to bounce back. Inconsistent since winning at Haydock a year ago and still 5lb higher; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (8/1 -45%)The Big Breakaway |
8/1(-45%) | (2) The Big Breakaway 8/1, Now 22 runs since his last win in 2020 but latest second in this headgear at Bangor under this rider was his best effort for some time. Needs to back that up. Despite some fine efforts he has gone 22 starts without a win since November 2020. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (22/1 -10%)Cap Du Nord |
22/1(-10%) | (7) Cap Du Nord 22/1, Successful twice in 2024 but badly out of form since the autumn. 10lb below last winning mark, but plenty to prove after pulling up in his last two starts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

This cold be a gruelling test and although Sound And Fury and Illico De Cotte have both been in good form of late, both will be stepping into the unknown when they approach the latter stages. That's not the case with THE BIG BREAKAWAY, who has finished second on his last two attempts over this distance and his proven stamina earns him the vote after a zestful effort with a first-time visor (retained) tried at Bangor last month. Doncaster winner Northern Poet is another solid contender.

ILLICO DE COTTE has taken well to fences this season and could have more to offer over this longer trip, so gets the vote over recent winners Northern Poet and Sound And Fury.

The vote goes to the unexposed 7yo ILLICO DE COTTE (nap) who shapes as though this even stiffer test will suit him well.

(4) (6/1 +50%)Big Boy Barney |
6/1(+50%) | (4) Big Boy Barney 6/1, Doyen gelding. Brother to modest hurdler Pass Rusher. Won sole start in Irish points in April. Has since had a wind op so he's a much respected newcomer. Beat a subsequent Grade 3 winner in Irish point; interesting rules debutant. |

(13) (15/2 -88%)Settle Down Jill |
15/2(-88%) | (13) Settle Down Jill 15/2, Failed to build on her debut Cheltenham bumper fourth when only seventh in listed bumper at Market Rasen 51 days ago. This Irish point winner remains with potential though. A likely player for top yard. Irish point winner who has Listed form under rules; leading contender. |

(3) (10/1 0%)Les's Destiny Star |
10/1(0%) | (3) Les's Destiny Star 10/1, Landed bumper at Doncaster in 2024 and backed it up with a good second of 12 over C&D last March. Off since but he still can't be discounted for his in-form handler. Absent since runner-up in this race last year; one of the main form players. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(7) (11/1 -38%)Colin Hobbs |
11/1(-38%) | (7) Colin Hobbs 11/1, Won a point bumper and posted an encouraging fifth of 11 in listed bumper at Newbury 29 days ago. Holds solid claims in these calmer waters. Point bumper winner; nicely bred and should build on Newbury Listed effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(2) (12/1 +52%)Legal Weapon |
12/1(+52%) | (2) Legal Weapon 12/1, Debut C&D bumper winner in December but he raced too freely when ninth of 10 in similar company at Windsor following month. In good hands and well worth another chance. Drop back in class and return to Warwick look positives; C&D winner on debut. |

(10) (14/1 -40%)Times Are Green |
14/1(-40%) | (10) Times Are Green 14/1, Has shaped well on both his runs, a keeping-on fourth of 16 in bumper at Doncaster 44 days ago. In the mix with better still to come. Has shown ability in both runs, still green latest; remains open to progress. |

18/1(+28%) | (5) Big Wigg 18/1, Passing Glance gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler/chaser Roger Rarebit, stays 3m. Dam winning pointer. Wears tongue strap. One to note in the market on debut. Pedigree suggests he may not flourish until sent over jumps and longer trips. |

(1) (20/1 -100%)Destination Dubai |
20/1(-100%) | (1) Destination Dubai 20/1, 11/2, won 8-runner bumper at Hereford on NH debut 102 days ago on his sole run for Alastair Ralph. One to consider starting out for a new stable. Won at Hereford for Alastair Ralph in sole rules attempt; this is harder. |

(6) (33/1 -230%)Cheesy Icon |
33/1(-230%) | (6) Cheesy Icon 33/1, Fair form shown when in the frame in bumpers at Southwell and Huntingdon either side of Christmas. One for the shortlist. Ran well but looked headstrong last time and ideally needs to settle better. |

(9) (40/1 -100%)Tao Enki |
40/1(-100%) | (9) Tao Enki 40/1, 14/1, fifth of 13 in bumper at Chepstow on NH debut 107 days ago. Can take a step forward. Showed promise at Chepstow but this sharper 2m looks a possible negative. |

(15) (40/1 -100%)Harbour Light |
40/1(-100%) | (15) Harbour Light 40/1, £8,000 3-y-o, Harbour Law gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner Teeceethree. Dam fair but temperamental 19f-25f chase winner. Newcomer merits consideration. £8,000 3yo; half-brother to a bumper winner; stable also runs Colin Hobbs. |

(12) (50/1 -100%)Katie Sunny Dancer |
50/1(-100%) | (12) Katie Sunny Dancer 50/1, Passing Glance mare. Half-sister to a point winner. Dam fair 3m/3¼m chase winner. Wears tongue strap. No forlorn hope on her debut, especially if the market vibes are positive. Stoutly bred newcomer who seems likely to find this scenario too sharp. |

(8) (150/1 -200%)Howzatjack |
150/1(-200%) | (8) Howzatjack 150/1, Last of 8 in bumper at Kempton (12/1) on NH debut 30 days ago. Green there so he can build on it now. Trailed home last of eight in soft-ground contest at Kempton. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Les's Destiny Star and Destination Dubai are the most notable of the three previous bumper winners but their 7lb penalties have to be a concern. However, WILSTAR, who is a half-brother to none other than Jonbon and Douvan, is the one who appeals most on pedigree. A hint of the ability of those two top-class siblings would make Olly Murphy's newcomer hard to beat. The class-dropping Settle Down Jill could be the biggest danger to the selection on these terms.

This is wide open so it could be worth siding with Olly Murphy's WILSTAR, who is a half-brother no less to the top-class duo Douvan and Jonbon, to make a winning start. Dan Skelton's Settle Down Jill rates the form pick and seems sure to be on the premises, while Colin Hobbs, Times Are Green, Legal Weapon and Big Boy Barney all need factoring in too.

Superbly bred newcomer WILSTAR and solid-looking rules debutant Big Boy Barney are particularly interesting.
Ths is the racecard key.
