66/1(+0%) | (3) Our Boy Harry 66/1, Slowly away beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden at Pontefract last time after similar modest effort in debut; back in trip and hard to recommend Comfortably beaten in two 6f maidens and handicaps will be more like it. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

VLAD shaped with promise to fill the runner-up spot at Newmarket on debut last month and he would have learned a great deal from that experience. He could have any amount of improvement to come and will prove hard to beat. His main threat might be Magic Stone, who changed hands for 30,000 pounds and is a brother to Stone Of Destiny. Daizen is another to keep an eye on.

It's hard to see past VLAD who made a promising debut at Newmarket behind big talking horse Treanmor.

6/1(+63%) | (1) Dakota Dawn 6/1, Modest debut 8 1/2l fourth in a novice over 5f at Ripon; trainer in form; up in trip; should improve for that run Soundly beaten fourth of five at 25-1 on debut at Ripon; considerable improvement needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

COTAI BELLE took a sizeable step forward from her first to second start when only beaten a length into second at Thirsk last month, and she could have plenty more to offer. Mehmas Air Force occupied the runner-up berth at Bath last month and would be foolish to dismiss, while any market confidence behind newcomer Game Striker would be interesting.

With her inexperience having still been evident when runner-up at Bath on her second start, MEHMAS AIR FORCE should have more to offer

6/1(-50%) | (13) Sixteen One 6/1, Ran to form beaten a head off 63 over 6f at Leicester last time; up in trip, but does stay; consistent and should go well 0-10 but placed the last twice, going close most recently; a first win may be imminent. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LADY MARIKO produced the best effort of her career when finishing second at Nottingham in April and has since changed hands for 25,000gns. The daughter of Kameko makes her first start for the in-form Dylan Cunha stable and can gain her first career triumph. Clasina finished a fair third over this distance at Ayr on her latest outing and needs considering, while Sixteen One is another to watch out for.

Having gone close at Nottingham in April on her final run for the Crisford stable, LADY MARIKO is taken to get off the mark.

3/1(+50%) | (11) Quirke On Parole 3/1, Ideally suited by step-up in trip when beaten 1 1/4l off 52 at Doncaster over 10f last time; unproven on fast ground, but major chance on that form Close fourth on handicap debut at Doncaster and that form reads well; on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 -40%)Homeland |
7/1(-40%) | (5) Homeland 7/1, Miles below par down the field in a handicap over 8f at Doncaster most recent run after good effort at Redcar; could bounce back up in trip, but bit risky Runner-up on handicap debut at Redcar then had an excuse at Doncaster; retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (16/1 -45%)Iwantmytimewithyou |
16/1(-45%) | (7) Iwantmytimewithyou 16/1, Beaten 7 1/2l in a novice over 7f at Catterick last time; up markedly in trip here and that is naturally a concern as is lack of reliability of down the field novice form Dam was a 1m5f-2m winner and he could be a big improver now up in trip on handicap debut. |

10th (3) (20/1 -43%)Shamador |
20/1(-43%) | (3) Shamador 20/1, Made too much use of comfortably held in a handicap at Haydock last time, but form has been poor so far as a 3yo and mark may be very stiff Went close on debut last September but unable to reproduce that form on his 5 runs since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It could be worth forgiving HOMELAND's latest run where he trailed home after stumbling early on, and might be better judged on his Redcar second the time before. Upped in trip here, he could surprise them all if he returns to his best. Three On Thursday showed improved form when third at Lingfield and she might go well on her handicap debut, while Coverbridge is noted going back up in trip.

The step up in trip could be a positive for HOMELAND, who kept on for a good second over 1m at Redcar in April.

2nd (9) (6/1 -20%)Papa Don't Preach |
6/1(-20%) | (9) Papa Don't Preach 6/1, Raced freely beaten 3/4l off 57 at Nottingham last time, but in very consistent form; down in trip, which should not inconvenience and on a fair mark Useful in the past but usually finds a way of losing these days; capable off this mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -67%)Golden Rainbow |
15/2(-67%) | (2) Golden Rainbow 15/2, Travelled well beaten 1/2l off 59 over 5f at Redcar last time when favourite; a bit in and out, but a repeat of that would put right there Propensity to hang right wouldn't be ideal round here but he enters calculations. |

33/1(+0%) | (3) Crafty Spirit 33/1, May have needed the race beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap over 5f at Beverley on seasonal debut; pretty consistent last term and if coming on for that run would be a contender Entitled to have needed his recent comeback but didn't offer much hope in finishing last. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Golden Rainbow was only beaten half a length off 1lb lower last month and, with Kaiya Fraser claiming 3lb in the saddle, he could get involved. OPAL STORM got up to win by a short head at Carlisle despite a slow start and trouble in running, and an added 3lb from the handicapper may not be enough to stop her from following up. Papa Don't Preach is another for the shortlist.

Hold-up mare OPAL STORM (nap) is capable of defying a 3lb rise if getting the breaks. South Shore is another to consider.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (4/1 -14%)Hamlet's Night |
4/1(-14%) | (3) Hamlet's Night 4/1, Ran to form beaten 1/2l off 80 at Lingfield last time; cheekpieces first time; in good form and threat given upward curve Runner-up in six of his 12 starts, including last two; cheekpieces could help him focus. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HAMLET'S NIGHT just failed to catch the winner at Lingfield last time. That form looks stronger in hindsight, given the third has subsequently won, and the son of Invincible Spirit looks worthy of another chance. Bodorgan is another to consider arriving on the back of a promising third at Hamilton on his reappearance and first start for his new yard, while Candonomore is respected over this longer trip.

Glistening Nights is respected but cheekpieces could be the catalyst for HAMLET'S NIGHT to belatedly shed his maiden tag.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NOVAMAY returned to action with a respectable second at Ripon and that run is entitled to have brought her on. She failed to trouble the winner, who went on to land a double, but Michael Dods' charge looks on a workable mark and gets the vote. A winner at Bath last month, Hidden Verse remains in fine form and can feature again with Danny Tudhope taking over the reins, while Monticristo Boy is next best.

Novamay could improve further but a bigger show looks on the cards from CAPTAIN PICKLES and this could be his day.
Ths is the racecard key.
